The Biblical plan of salvation is simply that we are all guilty needy sinners, but Christ paid our debt of sin, and if we BELIEVE the Good News that Jesus died on the cross for our sins, was buried and bodily resurrected the third day, we are saved (1st Corinthians 15:1-4). In sharp contrast, the Devil has infiltrated evangelical churches with counterfeit Bible versions, which change the Scripture to teach that “repentance” is a change of lifestyle instead of a change of mind.
Here is a classic example of what I am telling you. The Greek word for “repent” in Mark 1:15 in the King James Bible is metanoeo, which means, “to think differently.” It is a change of mind. It DOESN'T mean to “change your hearts and lives,” which is what the corrupt ERV says!!! . . .
KING JAMES BIBLE (KJB) — Mark 1:15, “And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.” [emphasis added]
EASY-TO-READ VERSION (ERV) — Mark 1:15, “He said, “The right time is now here. God’s kingdom is very near. Change your hearts and lives, and believe the Good News!” [emphasis added]That is wrong, wrong, wrong! You don't have to change your own life as a requirement to be saved. Rather, it is the indwelling Holy Spirit that comes into a person at the time of salvation that changes one's heart and life, over time as they grow in grace by nurturing on the milk of the Word (1st Peter 2:2). Anyone who tells you that you must change your ways, habits or sinful lifestyle to be saved is a BIG LIAR! Eternal life is a gift (Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:8-9). A gift can simply be received, not achieved.
True Biblical repentance is acknowledging one's SINNERSHIP! Here is the best quote that I've found on repentance, by Dr. Harry A. Ironside (1876-1951):
“Which comes first, repentance or faith? In Scripture we read, 'Repent ye, and believe the gospel.' Yet we find true believers exhorted to 'repent, and do the first works.' So intimately are the two related that you cannot have one without the other. The man who believes God repents; the repentant soul puts his trust in the Lord when the Gospel is revealed to him. Theologians may wrangle over this, but the fact is, no man repents until the Holy Spirit produces repentance in his soul through the truth. No man believes the Gospel and rests in it for his own salvation until he has judged himself as a needy sinner before God. And this is repentance.” ('Except Ye Repent,' p. 16)In sharp contrast to this truth, today's satanic Bible versions all change and pervert what it means to “repent.” The new Bible versions all errantly teach that repentance means “turning away from sins” to be saved. As we read in Mark 1:15 in the satanic Easy-To-Read Version (ERV), you have to change your own life and heart to be saved. This is not the Gospel. The modern Bible versions are filthy trash. The world is getting worse and worse, and the multitude of new Bible versions are part of Satan's deception of the churches. Revelation 12:9b, “Satan, which deceiveth the whole world...”
What is alarming is that the King James Bible is slowly being phased out, which is literally the last bastion of theological truth in the churches today! When the King James Bible is gone, all that will be left are the Devil's modern Bibles, which all require turning away from a life of sin to be saved, which is a work-based counterfeit gospel.
