People Only See What They Want To See

Isaiah 56:10, “His watchmen are blind: they are all ignorant, they are all dumb dogs, they cannot bark; sleeping, lying down, loving to slumber.”

The old adage is true: People only see what they want to see.

A ministry friend recently shared his frustration with me in dealing with a Roman Catholic friar. They were debating over Saint Augustine's negative views and comments concerning women. As expected, the Catholic Friar spoke high words of praise in defense of Augustine.

I wrote back to my friend and told him that I go through the same frustrating phenomena with professed Christian clergy all the time, who bizarrely insist that Martin Luther (1483-1546) was a born again Christian, when Luther's catechisms (which were written in 1529, twelve years after his alleged conversion to Christ in 1517) all require Sacramental Salvation to get to Heaven.


Tragically, many church pastors and layman alike only see what they want to see. There is nothing more dangerous than the inspired Holy Bible in the hands of an incompetent preacher. Isaiah 56:10, “His watchmen are blind: they are all ignorant, they are all dumb dogs, they cannot bark; sleeping, lying down, loving to slumber.”

People tend to only see what they want to see due to motivated perception, where our desires and beliefs influence our interpretations of reality. That is to say, we all see through a selfish filter. This can lead to biases in how we process information, often focusing on aspects that align with our preferences, beliefs or expectations. This is why the old adage is true: To the man with a hammer in his hand, everything looks like a nail sticking up.

In the Bible, the phrase “seeing they see not” refers to people who observe but fail to understand or perceive the truth. This concept is highlighted in Matthew 13:13b, where it states, “because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.” Jesus spoke in parables to reveal the mysteries of the kingdom of God to those who seek the truth, while concealing the truth from those who are indifferent or hostile.
Matthew 13:13-15 “Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand. And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive: For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.”
One of my favorite Bible teachers at Hyles-Anderson College (where I attended between 1985 to 1993 when I graduated) is Pastor Brad Strand in Texas, who writes:
Parables were given to illustrate doctrine, not to declare it.. In other words, it would be wrong to build a case for some doctrine on the basis of a parable. Parables were designed to teach a heavenly truth and to reveal some kind of character flaw within human nature, not exemplify doctrine. Only two of the forty-one parables given to us by Christ are explained by him (Parable # 5 - Mt 13:18-23 and Parable # 7 - Mt 13:24-30, 36-43), which sets the standard for the interpretation of all parables. 
Christ used parables for 2 reasons: 
  1. To reveal truth (Mt 13:10-11) - Only the humble and spiritually awakened benefited from parables (Mt 11:25-26). As long as you were willing to admit having character flaws, you were able to benefit from parable
  2. To conceal truth (Mk 4:10-12, Lk 8:9-10 and Acts 28:25-27) - Parables were used to hide truths from unreceptive hearts, which cared more about entertainment than salvation. 
NOTE  - Because there is no common accepted definition of the parable, it is difficult to say just how many parables are present in the Gospels. The exact number depends on one's definition of a parable. If the word parable is taken to include proverbs, riddles, and simple comparisons as well as those in story form, the number is about sixty in all. If one's interpretation of a parable does not include proverbs, riddles, and simple comparisons as well as those in story form, then Christ gives us a total of 41 parables.
While it is true that many of the Old Testament prophets and saints (righteous men) may not have understood the actual death, burial and resurrection of Christ (Lk 18:34 and 1 Peter 1:10A), it is also true that every Old Testament saint understood the facts behind the actual death, burial and resurrection of Christ, and it is the facts behind the Gospel that save a person (1 Cor. 15:1). —Pastor Brad Strand, 'The Strand Study Bible' (.PDF); commentary for Matthew 13:10, p. 1494
Bravo! That is beautiful. I bought five copies of The Strand Study Bible (2 new and 3 used). I wanted to get them before they're forever gone! I cannot recommend Brother Strand's study Bible enough. He is a brilliant Bible teacher, a sweet man and I cherish his work for Christ.

It is in our sinful human nature to only see what we want to see, which is why the inspired Scripture says in Proverbs 16:25, “There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.”

The Corrupt Gospel According To Dolly Parton

1st John 4:1, “Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

As you already likely know, Dolly Parton (1946-2026) died last Tuesday. A lot of people are curious about the famous country singer's religious beliefs, now that she has died at age 80.

I came across something disturbing today called, “The Gospel According To Dolly. The Gospel According To Dolly is a neo-evangelical church series (which started on October 19, 2022) that uses Dolly Parton’s life and songs to talk about suffering, joy and longing for “home.” It began as a three-part series, drawing on how she grew up with Bible stories and church music in Tennessee. But there is a more sinister aspect to the series.

According to the Progressive Church Media website in an article titled, “The Gospel According To Dolly Parton,” it reads:
A Gospel for Our Time
In an increasingly polarized world, Dolly Parton transcended cultural divides, not by avoiding difficult issues but by leading with empathy. She reminded us that progressive Christianity must be both inclusive and deeply rooted in action. For pastors and ministry leaders, Dolly Parton’s faith offers a fresh lens through which to explore how to share the gospel—not just in word, but in deed. SOURCE
In layman's language, that means deteriorating Christianity in America needs to embrace the Satanic homosexual movement. What you just read from the Progressive Church Media is evil propaganda! They are teaching that we should compromise like Dolly Parton did, to share God's love via accepting unrepentant homosexuals and their filthy deathstyle. This is a FALSE gospel. What saith the Scripture? James 4:4, “Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God. Kindly said, Dolly Parton was God's enemy.

If You Truly Follow Jesus, The World Will Hate You

2nd Timothy 3:12, “Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.” Do you know what it means to “live godly in Christ Jesus”? It means that you refuse to go along with the sinful world. 1st Peter 4:4-5, “Wherein they think it strange that ye run not with them to the same excess of riot, speaking evil of youWho shall give account to him that is ready to judge the quick and the dead. Dolly pandered to the wicked world, going along to get along, dipping her sails, and the heathen world loved her for it (John 15:19). They're about to rename the Nashville International Airport after Dolly.

In April of 2022, at age 76, Dolly Parton appeared on the “Worklife with Adam Grant” podcast, in which she wickedly stated: “I modeled my looks on the town tramp,” flaunting her rebellion against God's command for females to dress modestly. Dolly proudly declared: “I look like a Jezebel.” She sinfully appropriated a popular Christian fundamentalist term of derision as a badge of honor. The inspired Holy Bible commands women to adorn themselves in modest apparel (1st Timothy 2:9-10). Proverbs 7:10 condemns the attire of an harlot. What Dolly Parton sinfully mocks and jests at, brings the judgment of God (Colossians 3:5-6; Romans 1:32; Matthew 5:28; Jude 1:7; Hebrews 13:4).

Dolly's Corrupt Gospel Is Devoid Of The True Gospel

Furthermore, looking at the preceding quote again from Progressive Church Media, please notice that there was no mention of the actual Gospel (i.e., Jesus death on the cross, His burial, and bodily resurrection from the dead three days later) anywhere in Dolly Parton's world. The ONLY true Gospel is found in the Holy Bible in 1st Corinthians 15:1-4. There is no such thing as: “The Gospel According To Dolly Parton.” Wicked sinners are attempting to spread Dolly's toxic philosophy that we should just love and be nice to everyone, regardless of how wicked they live their lives, while claiming some shallow faith in a ambiguous non-specific higher power, and that's The Corrupt Gospel According To Dolly Parton.

2nd Timothy 3:5, “Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. According to Romans 1:16 that saving “power” is the Gospel (the Good News of the Lord Jesus Christ crucified, buried and risen). I am sick and fed up and tired of hearing celebrities talk about faith in a higher power from within one's self (new age heresy), which is all Dolly Parton ever talked about, but there is no faith in the Gospel truth. ...
“We all believe in God, and we’re very close.” —Dolly Parton
James 2:19, “Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.”

It is clear from Dolly's unbiblical comment, “We are all God's children,” that she has never been born again:
“I know [trans people] and love them all, and I do not judge… And I just see how broken-hearted they get over certain things and I know how real they are. I know how important [gender-affirming care] is to them. That’s who they are. They cannot help that any more than I can help being Dolly Parton, you know, the way people know me. If there’s something to be judged, that is God’s business. But we are all God’s children and how we are is who we are.”
First of all, we are not all God's children. Galatians 3:26, “For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. Unless you have been born anew from above by God's Holy Spirit in response to your faith in the Gospel of Jesus Christ, you are not a child of God.

Secondly, I do not believe that homosexuals cannot help what they are. If that be true, then God made a mistake by forbidding the sinful practice of homosexuality. The Bible strongly condemns homosexuality as a vile sin that goes against the laws of nature (Romans 1:24-32). I am not saying that Christians should bash or be unkind to LGBTQ people, God forbid. We should love everyone and be kind to others, but we should also make it clear to those around us that we openly reject such wickedness and will not sanction or celebrate sodomy. Romans 1:25, “Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

I have been around homosexuals in public, and they always seek acceptance from others, especially Christians. Over my dead body! I will never remain silent if I have a say in the matter. I will speak up. As a Christian who fears God, I would never form a close personal friendship with a homosexual. That is not bigotry, that is Biblical separation from the heathen world (Psalms 1:1; Proverbs 1:10; 2nd Corinthians 6:14-17).

Practicing homosexuals want to be openly accepted by society, even as members in good standing in local churches, and that is evil dear reader. Any church that openly accepts homosexuals and refuses to preach against the sin of homosexuality is the Devil's church. I am of the belief that everyone should be welcomed to come to a church, but they are going to hear me preach against all sins if I am the pastor, including homosexuality, if they attend. 1st Timothy 5:20, “Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear.”

To Dolly Parton entertainment was her God. I find no evidence whatsoever that she ever became a born again child of God. Dolly's popular so-called “gospel” has absolutely nothing to do with Jesus' death, burial and resurrection; but rather, to embrace homosexuals and all walks of life while merely professing to be a “person of faith.” That's exactly what Satan does to deceive his victims, masquerading as an angel of light (2nd Corinthians 11:13-15).

Dolly Parton's so-called “gospel” is not the true Gospel of 1st Corinthians 15:1-4. It is a ruse to further creep the homosexual agenda into the churches, which sinister plot I assure you will ultimately fail and bring the wrathful judgment of God. Hebrews 10:31, “It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

Martin Luther Was No “Hero Of Faith”

Galatians 3:1-3, “O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you? This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?”

Tragically, in the vast majority of churches today (both fundamentalist and neo-evangelical churches alike) and Christendom as a whole, Martin Luther (1483-1546) is ignorantly praised as a hero of the faith. Case in point is this 1962 book titled 'Martin Luther: Hero Of Faith' by Frederick Nohl. And here is another book titled, 'Hero Of Faith: Martin Luther' written in 2012 by Edward C. Grube.

Tragically, Martin Luther was a heretic! I realize this comes as a shock to many Christians; but, the proof is undeniable. The Biblical teaching of being saved by faith alone is often attributed to Martin Luther; BUT, nothing could be further from the truth.

Indeed, Luther and the other reformers did challenge the Catholic Church that sold indulgences and offered a “works-based” type of salvation. However, just because Martin Luther protested against the Catholic Church doesn't mean that he was saved. Martin Luther often taught that salvation was based on faith alone, and not received based upon a person’s meritorious works; however, Luther’s idea of faith alone does not conform to the Biblical teaching that baptism is not required for salvation.

While it is understood that the opinions of men are in no way authoritative when it comes to God’s plan for salvation, it is nonetheless interesting to note that Martin Luther believed wholeheartedly in the necessity of water baptism as a prerequisite for salvation.

In his Large Catechism, Luther wrote:
[I] affirm that Baptism is no human trifle, but that it was established by God Himself. Moreover, He earnestly and solemnly commanded that we must be baptized or we shall not be saved. No one is to think that it is an optional matter like putting on a red coat. It is of greatest importance that we hold Baptism in high esteem as something splendid and glorious. The reason why we are striving and battling so strenuously for this view of Baptism is that the world nowadays is full of sects that loudly proclaim that Baptism is merely an external form and that external forms are useless.... Although Baptism is indeed performed by human hands, yet it is truly God’s own action (1978, pp. 98-99). [emphasis added]

BLASPHEMY! Where does the holy Bible “solemnly command that we must be baptized or we shall not be saved”? From Luther’s own comments, it is clear that he required water baptism for salvation. This is called the heresy of Baptismal Regeneration. Many Protestant denominations today have been infected with Luther's damnable heresy. Sadly, most fundamental Bible-believing churches have also been caught up in the woeful Martin Luther deception.

Martin Luther was subtle, just as Satan—teaching that salvation is by faith alone, while simultaneously requiring baptism to be saved. Obviously, Luther didn't consider baptism a self-righteous work. The Word of God states in John 3:18, “He that believeth on him is not condemned...” I don't see any mention of “baptism” there.

John the Apostle professed in 1st John 5:13 the purpose of his Epistle... “These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life.” Carefully notice that John never mentions baptism in 1st, 2nd, or 3rd John. By the way, John doesn't mention speaking in tongues either.

Romans 11:6 plainly tells us that if salvation is by works then it is no longer by grace, “And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.” If you add anything to simple childlike faith in Jesus as the Christ, then you have corrupted the saving grace of God and the Gospel. Such is of the Devil. Martin Luther taught works salvation. Every hellbound Catholic today who speaks of faith also believes that salvation comes only through keeping the 7 Sacraments of the Church in Rome. Of course, that is a false view of the Gospel and a road straight to Hell, fire, and damnation.

The Apostle wrote 1st John to enlighten us how to KNOW we are saved. It is ludicrous for Charismatics to claim speaking in tongues as evidence of being saved. It is also ludicrous for anyone to claim that baptism is necessary for salvation. If this were the case, then John WOULD have mentioned it. Romans 4:5, “But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.” There's NO mention of baptism.

What, then, would Martin Luther say to those today who teach that “faith alone” excludes baptism? Listen to Luther's own words concerning the Biblical doctrine of “faith alone”:
But our know-it-alls, the new spirit people, claim that faith alone saves and that human works and outward forms contribute nothing to this. We answer: It is of course true that nothing in us does it except faith, as we shall hear later. But these blind leaders of the blind refuse to see that faith must have something in which it believes, that is, something it clings to, something on which to plant its feet and into which to sink its roots. Thus faith clings to the water and believes Baptism to be something in which there is pure salvation and life, not through the water, as I have emphasized often enough, but because God’s name is joined to it ... It follows from this that whoever rejects Baptism rejects God’s word, faith, and the Christ who directs us to Baptism and binds us to it —Luther’s Large Catechism: Book of Concord, pp. 101-102, 1978; Saint Louis, Missouri; Concordia
WRONG! Water baptism would be a work. Faith puts all of the merit where it belongs, on the object of our faith, Jesus and His work. It is Christ Himself, and not the water in a baptistery, that should be the object of our faith to be saved. I have no doubt that Martin Luther was sincere in his faulty beliefs, but the Holy Bible warns in Proverbs 14:12 that “There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.”

Martin Luther was a heretic! He ignorantly wrested the inspired Scripture and believed things about the Bible that were not true. Martin Luther rejected the Book of Revelation because he couldn't understand it. The Biblical teaching of “faith only” which is so often attributed to Martin Luther, has nothing to do with Martin Luther. Sadly, Luther was no “hero” of the Christian faith.

This is the damnable Martin Luther deception! From the quotes we have read by Martin Luther, it is abundantly clear that Luther DIDN'T believe in “faith only” for salvation. Luther speaks out of both sides of his mouth. Martin Luther’s words are unambiguous and clear—his “faith alone” did not exclude water baptism as being necessary for salvation. He was a false prophet.

Martin Luther was no hero of the Christian faith!

The Counterfeit Plan Of Salvation Of 'UNSHACKLED!'

Acts 16:28-31, “But Paul cried with a loud voice, saying, Do thyself no harm: for we are all here. Then he called for a light, and sprang in, and came trembling, and fell down before Paul and Silas, And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.”

Over the years, I have written numerous ministry articles refuting Pacific Garden Mission's (PGM) false doctrine. We hear a lot about “fake news nowadays. Well, there are many fake gospels as well. Since 1950, PGM has broadcast their popular radio program in Chicago called 'UNSHACKLED!' Their latest episode #3942 is titled: James Blair.

Here is an excerpt from the heretical presentation, and then afterwards I will break it down to explain what is unbiblical about much of it...
Minister speaking to James: God wants to save you from going to a burning Hell that lasts forever. He did it because He wants you to be with him in Heaven forever. Hebrews chapter 9 verse 27 says, “It is appointed unto men once to die, and after this the judgment.” If you died tonight, do you know where your soul would go? If not, you need to repent of your sins, and by faith, invite Jesus into your heart to become your savior and the Lord of your life. Say “yes” to Jesus and you can know where you will spend eternity.

PGM Narrator: Friend, Christ died for your sins, for what the law could not do in that it was weak from the flesh, God sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, condemned sin in flesh. This is the Good News! Redemption not achieved, but received; for by grace are defeated from faith, it is the gift of God not of works, not of works; not of striving, lest any man should boast; therefore, the call is clear, repent and believe. Turn from sin, and place your faith in Him who has already finished the work.

Daughter: Because of the commitments that came with salvation, I had planned to wait till I was 40 to get saved. But the Lord drew me that night and I went to the altar, where I asked God to save me. I confessed every sin I could think of. We were very late getting home.

Mother:  You were saved tonight, weren't you?

Daughter: Yes, how did you know?

Mother:  I could tell by looking at you. 

Daughter: That's why we're late, I had a lot of sin to confess. And I sure feel clean.

Father: I couldn't figure out why a 13-year-old had so many sins to confess.

Daughter: I wanted to be sure I was really saved Dad.

Mother:  Now grow up to be a Sunday School teacher or something.

All of the following are unbiblical rubbish, damnable heresy:
  1. You need to repent of your sins - Not one verse in the inspired King James Bible teaches that you must repent “of your sins” to get to Heaven.
  2. Invite Jesus into your heart Not one verse in the inspired Holy Bible Bible teaches that you must invite Jesus into your heart to get to Heaven.
  3. Invite Jesus to become the Lord of your lifeNot one verse in the inspired King James Bible teaches that you must invite Jesus to become “Lord” of your life to get to Heaven. 1st Timothy 4:10b says that Jesus is “the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe.”
  4. Turn from sin Not one verse in the inspired King James Bible teaches that you must turn from your sin to get to Heaven. No one has ever turned from sinning. All you can do is try to sin less and live above reproach, but that is reformation not repentance.
  5. The commitments that came with salvation - Not one verse in the inspired King James Bible teaches that you must fulfil commitments when you get saved. Eternal life is a free gift with obligations. Certainly there are things God expects of every believer, but if you refuse to do them you are still saved.
  6. I confessed every sin I could think of - Not one verse in the inspired Holy Bible teaches that you must confess “every sin” to get to Heaven. You simply need to admit you are a guilty sinner; you need to know what you're being saved from, which is the condemnation of God's Law (Romans 3:19-20).
  7. I could tell by looking at you - You cannot determine if someone is saved or lost merely by looking at them. By all outward indications the hellbound false prophets in Matthew 7:21-23 were saved. Even Christ's own apostles couldn't see that Judas Iscariot had a devil in him (John 6:70).
  8. I had a lot of sin to confess - Not one verse in the inspired King James Bible teaches that you are obligated to itemize and confess all your sins to God in order to get to Heaven. Mark 1:5b says the people came to John the Baptist “confessing their sins.” The Bible doesn't say they made a long list of every sin; they simply acknowledged their sinnership (1st John 1:8-10). Pastor Curtis Hutson (1934-1995) wisely said: A good rule to follow when interpreting the Bible is to never use an obscure passage to contradict a clear one. When 3,000 people got saved on the Day of Pentecost (Acts 2:41), Cornelius and his companions (Acts 10:43-44), and the Roman jailer (Acts 16:30-31), no mention is made that any of them confessed their sins. They simply knew that they were sinners.
  9. I wanted to be sure I was really saved - The only assurance that you are saved is your faith in the Gospel, not because you feel convicted to confess all your sins to God. You just need to admit you are a needy sinner.
Dear reader, I hope you can clearly see the spiritual dangers of UNSHACKLED! They have wickedly embellished God's simple plan of salvation, needlessly placing heavy emphasis upon the lost sinner to reform as a requirement to get to Heaven. This is another gospel. This is a works based counterfeit plan of salvation, not the free grace of God which is by faith alone without works (Romans 4:4-5).

The Apostle Peter preached the Gospel on the Day of Pentecost (named in lieu of Jesus' physical resurrection 50 days earlier). As Peter preached to several thousand Jews, we read in Acts 2:41 that 3,000 of them gladly received the Gospel truth by faith and were saved. There is no mention of anyone confessing all of their sins, inviting Jesus to become Lord of their life, or turning away from their sinful behavior or to be saved. Pacific Garden Mission are pulling on the same rope as the Devil, perverting the Gospel of free grace, which cannot produce the new birth. The preceding episode #3942 makes me want to vomit! This is not the simplicity that is in Christ.

Pastor Harry A. Ironside (1876-1951) gets the Gospel 100% correct...
“The Gospel is not a call to repentance, or to amendment of our ways, to make restitution for past sins, or to promise to do better in the future. These things are proper in their place, but they do not constitute the Gospel; for the Gospel is not good advice to be obeyed, it is good news to be believed. Do not make the mistake then of thinking that the Gospel is a call to duty or a call to reformation, a call to better your condition, to behave yourself in a more perfect way than you have been doing in the past …Nor is the Gospel a demand that you give up the world, that you give up your sins, that you break off bad habits, and try to cultivate good ones. You may do all these things, and yet never believe the Gospel and consequently never be saved at all.”

Read what Pastor Ironside rightly said in his Gospel tract, 'ANOTHER GOSPEL?' ...
“When anyone comes promising salvation to those ‘who make full surrender' of all that they have to God, and who 'pay the price of full salvation' he is preaching another gospel, for the price was paid on Calvary's cross and the work that saves is finished. It was Christ Jesus who made the full surrender when He yielded His life on Calvary that saves us, not our surrender in any way to Him.”

Galatians 1:6-7, “I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.” Pacific Garden Mission in Chicago has been taken over by ungodly neo-evangelicals, who erroneously think Bible “repentance” means to make an effort to reform your life of sin.

In Matthew 27:3 we read that Judas Iscariot “repented himself,” but we know that Judas was still lost and went to Hell without Christ. So sad. Judas turned from his sins. He was sorry for betraying an innocent man. He tried to make amends by returning the 30 pieces of silver to the Pharisees. Unfortunately for Judas, he never believed that Jesus was who He claimed to be—the Christ, the only begotten Son of God. Salvation is strictly a matter of receiving by faith (taking God at His written Word) what Christ has done through Calvary's cross as full payment for our sins, and not of what we must do for Him to be saved. Salvation is not doing your best, it is having Christ's best put to your account through receiving Him by faith.

Judas had a relationship with Jesus Christ, but he still went to Hell forever. A “relationship” is not the gospel. I get tired of hearing radio preachers telling people to start “a relationship with Jesus. That is not God's plan of salvation. As I just mentioned, we read in Matthew 27:3 that Judas “repented himself.” The Greek word for “repented” here is metamellomai and means “to care afterwards, that is, regret.” Judas was sorry that he got caught betraying the Lord. Judas felt embarrassed and lonely, having betrayed his best friend and Lord (Master). Unfortunately, Judas did not trust Jesus as his personal Savior. Judas felt sorry for what he had done. However, feeling sorry for sin is not repentance. The Bible says that Judas repented, but then he went and commit suicide. Judas had NO FAITH in Christ.

First they tell you on 'UNSHACKLED!' that salvation is received, not achieved. They call it a free gift by God's grace; but then they do a Bait & Switch con job on you, emphasizing YOUR responsibility to repent and turn from your sinful ways. The true Gospel always points you to CHRIST; a false gospel always points to YOU. All I hear in UNSHACKLED's perverted gospel is the things that YOU must do to be saved.

Victor Nischik Denies A Free Grace Gospel

Victor Peter Nischik (1934-2015) was a long time deacon at the First Baptist Church of Hammond for nearly 27 years. Dr. Hyles became their new pastor in 1959. Pastor Hyles performed the wedding for Jennie and Victor in 1961. Mrs. Nischik sadly filed for divorce in 1986. At the time Mr. Nischik was employed at Moody Bible Institute in Chicago. Mr. Nischik left the church frustrated in 1988, but Jennie continued working as Dr. Hyles' lifelong secretary. That has always bothered me a lot! As far as I am concerned, Mrs. Nischik belonged AT HOME with her family, not working as Dr. Hyles' secretary!

On June 19, 1993, Dr. Donald A. Waite (1933-2014) interviewed Victor Nischik (1934-2015). I won't link to the interview on YouTube, simply because it contains graphic talk. Mr. Nischik is a wicked man who blatantly lies about Pastor Jack Hyles, accusing him of subscribing to Sexology magazine and exchanging Playboy magazine with acquaintances. Anybody who knew Brother Hyles could laugh at such ungodly ridiculous accusations. Dr. Hyles didn't even watch Hollywood movies! Pastor Hyles' dear ole mother sat in front of him in church, until 1984 when she went home to be with Jesus in Heaven. Don't you tell me that Brother Hyles lived a sordid double lifestyle in the face of his mother who raised him in godly faith.

I am fully convinced that Victor Nischik is an evil liar! Nischik is subtle, so full of crap. It is obvious he is a blatant liar. You can feel his hatred in his 1993 interview with Dr. Waite. According to Mr. Nischik Brother Hyles beat his wife into total submission. If that were true someone world have seen it, because they centered their lives around attending church. I don't believe a word of any of it.

Nischik claims that Dr. Hyles offered to have female church members have sex with him if he wanted. I don't think so! The only one saying that crap was Vic Nischik! All he does is twist Pastor Hyles' sermons out of context, connecting dots that don't exist to deliberately create doubt in the mind of listeners. Woe unto Mr. Nischik at the Great White Throne of Judgment!

Dr. Donald A Waite (1933-2014) is a wicked slanderer! These are evil men. Vic Nischik falsely accuses Dr. Hyles of trading Playboy magazines with people, and of watching smut videos in his office, and sharing  details of what he did in bed with his wife. That is not Pastor Hyles! No real man would do any of the contemptible things that Victor Nischik claims. Nischik claimed that after 1970 his wife Jennie wasn't allowed to have sex with him anymore, per Pastor Hyles. Do you really believe that Vic Nischik didn't have sex with his wife for 16 years before she divorced him in 1986? If you do, I feel sorry for you friend.

All that being said, here is an excerpt I made from the 1993 interview in which Mr. Nischik accuses Brother Hyles of preaching a counterfeit Gospel that leaves off repentance. Nischik alleges that thousands of people will go to Hell because of Pastor Hyles' false plan of salvation. Well, that speaks volumes against Victor Nischik and helps clear up the matter. By saying that Dr. Hyles preached a false Gospel that leaves off repentance, it plainly reveals that VICTOR NISCHIK WAS NOT SAVED. He died in 2015 and I sadly think he went straight to Hell.

In the disturbing excerpt that I made, you can hear Mr. Nischik (who was my age in his late fifties at the time of the 1993 interview), unjustly criticize the First Baptist Church of Hammond for using The Roman's Road, for leading lost sinners to pray a sinner's prayer to be saved. According to Nischik more is required. He believes that you must repent of your sins to turn away from them, and live a changed life to evidence that you are really saved. THAT IS THE HERESY OF LORDSHIP SALVATION!!! I am fully convinced that Vic Nischik is in Hell forever!

Why should we believe anything that a man says who is wrong on God's simple plan of salvation? Mr. Nischik couldn't be more wrong! The only righteousness that I posses is God's imputed righteousness through faith alone in Jesus Christ (Philippians 3:9). Clearly, Mr. Nischik was involved heavily at the First Baptist Church of Hammond in Indiana for 27 years, and he superficially lived the Christian life, but he had never been born again!

Beware Of False Teacher Dan C. Corner

Galatians 1:8-9, “But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.”

Please understand that I don't condemn anyone, for the Bible condemns all of us as guilty, dirty, rotten, hell-deserving sinners. My salvation solely rests in Christ's righteousness, because of the precious blood that He gave for our sins. My intention is not to be unkind; but rather, to expose false teachings.

Daniel C. Corner, founder of Evangelical Outreach in Washington, Pennsylvania, is a dangerous false prophet! Mr. Corner denies the Eternal Security of the believer and teaches a false gospel of partial faith in Christ plus works
 based type of salvation.

Dan Corner has written two popular books titled, "The Myth Of Eternal Security," and "The Believer's Conditional Security." Corner is associated with Jesus Is Lord Ministries International, Word Broadcasting Network and the satellite Reformation Channel. These media conduits feature various Anglo-Catholics, Wesleyan-holiness ministers, revivalists and wacky Charismatic preachers.

Beware dear reader! Dan Corner propagates his heresy to millions of naïve people. The internet is saturated with lies and “doctrines of devils.” 1st Timothy 4:1, “
Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils.” Dan Corner has corrupted the simplicity that is in Christ and instead teaches doctrines of devils. The Bible DOES teach the Eternal Security of the believer, which is the only conclusion you can make if you believe Romans 4:5, But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. Faith is the only righteous thing that I can do.

Corner Corrupts the Meaning of 1st Corinthians 6:9-10

1st Corinthians 6:9-11 is one of the most misunderstood and misapplied Scriptural passages in the Bible...
1st Corinthians 6:9-11, "Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God."
Deceitfully, Dan Corner and other enemies of Eternal Security fail to quote 1st Corinthians 6:11...
"And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God."
When you repent to believe on the name of Jesus Christ to be forgiven of your sins, the righteousness of God is IMPUTED (credited) to your record, and your sins are credited to Christ. To be saved, You Need HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS (Matthew 6:33). You are no longer viewed as an adulterer, murderer, homosexual or thief once saved. Every believer's sins have been washed away by the blood of Jesus and they cannot ever lose salvation. How can you lose by doing bad works what you didn't earn by doing good works? The spiritual heavenly birth is as irreversible as is the physical earthly birth. When God beholds the believer, He only sees the righteousness of Jesus Christ, faultless in God's sight (Jude 1:24).

IMPUTATION is the great missing doctrine in Dan Corner's demonic theology. Opponents of Eternal Security fail to understand that man's salvation rests in the righteousness of Jesus Christ, and not in one's own self-righteousness...
"For he [God the Father] hath made him [God the Son] to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him." (2nd Corinthians 5:21)
We don't go to Heaven because we live a life of obedience and faith; but rather, because we have trusted in the righteousness of Jesus Christ to forgive our sins...
"To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins." (Acts 10:43).
The only thing that we contribute to our own salvation is the sin that made it necessary. Dan Corner foolishly teaches that salvation can be lost if believers willfully commit sin. If that were the case, then every Christian is unsaved because we all sin every day!!! Corner has even written a book teaching that one's salvation is CONDITIONAL upon living an obedient life to Christ. Yet, Corner deceitfully claims that salvation is still by God's grace. False prophets typically use such senseless double-talk. It can't be both ways! Kindly said, Dan Corner speaks out of both sides of his mouth. Salvation cannot be by grace and works. Romans 11:6 plainly states, "And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work."

Salvation is either freely offered (Romans 10:13) by God's grace, and freely received (Revelation 22:17) as a gift because of Christ's blood sacrifice (1st Peter 1:18,19); or else salvation is conditional as Dan Corner teaches and works are a necessary part of salvation.

Please do not be deceived, salvation has nothing to do with the life we live. That would be self-righteousness!!! Romans 4:5 quickly silences Dan Corner and those who agree with him... "But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness." A man's faith is COUNTED for righteousness. Salvation is a gift; Not a Reward. Dan Corner is WRONG!

The Damnable Heresy of Dan Corner

Dan Corner is an aggressive false prophet who vehemently hates the Biblical teaching of Eternal Security. The following garbage is quoted from Mr. Corner's website...
True grace teaches us to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives (Titus 2:12). In contrast, there exists a false and dangerous "grace" message which gives a license for immorality (Jude 4) and breeds arrogance through a false security (Rom. 11:19-23).

Contrary to Mr. Corner's false teaching, the biblical doctrine of Eternal Security does not give a believer a "license for immorality." Romans 6:15 plainly teaches that the born-again believer is NO LONGER UNDER THE LAW; yet is still expected to fulfill the Law: "What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid." But fulfilling the Law is a result of walking in the Spirit (i.e., the “fruit” of the Spirit - Galatians 5:22-25), and NOT a prerequisite for salvation.

Again in Romans 3:31 we read, "Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law." Just because sinners are saved without works (Romans 3:20) does not give anyone permission to willfully sin. Opponents of Eternal Security make the mistake of placing the cart before the horse, i.e., they expect people to continually forsake their sins to guarantee salvation; but it's the other way around, we depart from our sins because we are saved and love the Lord (John 14:15).

Howbeit, even the best of Christians still sin, and are unable to completely escape the sin-nature. The Apostle Paul clearly had sin problems in his personal life...
Romans 7:14-25, “For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin. For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I. If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good. Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not. For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do. Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me. For I delight in the law of God after the inward man: But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.”
I dare say many believers today are as faithful to the Lord as the Apostle Paul. Yet Paul struggled horribly with sin on a daily basis. Interestingly, Paul never once mentioned losing his salvation. This is clear evidence that Eternal Security is biblical and no believer ever needs to fear losing the Salvation, which God promised before the world began (Titus 1:2). John 3:17 tells us that Jesus didn't come into the world to condemn humanity; but rather, to seek and to save sinners (cf. Luke 19:10). JESUS SAVES SINNERS!

Here once again is Dan Corner...
A true Christian (or righteous person) can die spiritually because of sin (Ezek. 33:18; Rom. 8:13; James 1:14-16; Lk. 15:24; etc.) fall away (Lk. 8:13; Heb. 6:4-6; etc.) and never again return to Jesus, just as the Apostle Judas Iscariot and Solomon didn't return after they turned from the faith.

There is NO biblical evidence that Judas Iscariot was ever saved. The Bible says Judas was a known thief (John 12:6). Judas had a devil (John 6:70). Solomon was a Christian, clearly evidenced by his writings in the book of Ecclesiastes. There is no reason to doubt that Solomon went to Heaven, although it is abundantly clear that Solomon, as wise as he was in a worldly sense, foolishly abandoned the Lord for most of his life. Judas, on the other hand, never showed any evidence of having ever been saved. Many religious people follow Jesus today, but they are as lost as the Devil. Being a follower of Christ is not biblical salvation. Multitudes followed Jesus merely for a handout of food, or to see a miracle.
A true Christian (or righteous person) doesn't have to "practice" sin, such as adultery or murder, before they lose their salvation, since it only takes one act of adultery to make a person a Bible-defined adulterer (Lev. 20:10) and one act of murder to make him a Bible defined murderer (Number 35:16). Rev. 21:8 is clear in stating such people are headed for hell because of their sins. David is a clear example of a righteous man who lost his salvation for a time, due to adultery and murder.

Nowhere in the inspired Holy Bible are we warned that committing sin can result in losing salvation. Yet, Dan Corner perverts the Scripture and foolishly teaches that committing even one sin can rob us of our salvation. King David DIDN'T lose his salvation and there's NO Scriptural evidence to support Corner's heresy. In Psalm 51 David asked God to restore the joy of thy salvation. David didn't ask to get his salvation back.
We are not saved by works (Eph. 2:8,9) but to reap eternal life and not destruction you must sow to please the Spirit and not the sinful nature (Gal. 6:8,9). God is faithful to us (1 Jn. 1:9; 1 Cor. 10:13) but we must be faithful to him to the very end of our lives to escape the lake of fire or second death (Rev. 2:10,11). God surely loves us (Jn. 3:16; Mk. 10:21; Rom. 8:35-39) but those who inherit the kingdom of God love God (Jam 2:5; 1 Cor. 2:9) and to love God means to obey his commands (Jn. 14:15; 1 Jn. 5:3).

Clearly, Dan Corner teaches a works-based salvation, requiring obedience to Christ and holy living as absolute essentials to obtain eternal life. Such false teaching negates the gift of God. Dan Corner is a deceiver. Despite his claim that salvation is not by works, he clearly requires works when he mandates righteous living, obedience and remaining faithful as being essential to salvation.

In sharp contrast, consider the words of Romans 4:5, "But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness." Either salvation is by GRACE or it's by WORKS. It cannot be both, "And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work" (Romans 11:6). What part of Romans 4:5 and 11:6 doesn't Dan Corner understand?

Dan Corner Perverts the Meaning of Romans 8:13

Dan Corner twists the meaning of Romans 8:13 to mean that sinful believers can lose their salvation...
“For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.” —Romans 8:13
However, Galatians 5:25 plainly evidences that a person can LIVE IN THE SPIRIT (i.e., be saved); while failing to WALK IN THE SPIRIT (i.e., live for the Lord)...
“If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.” —Galatians 5:25
Sadly, Dan Corner falls short of 2nd Timothy 2:15. He simply does not study! Corner teaches that a believer can lose salvation and must repent of one's sins in order to get saved AGAIN. There is NO Scripture to support his false doctrine. Again, I am not exposing Dan Corner; but rather, his false teachings, because they are a road to Hell.

The inspired Holy Bible contains numerous examples of CARNAL believers who deliberately chose to live in sin, horrible sin. King David was a "man after God's own heart" (1st Samuel 13:14); yet he commit adultery with Bathsheba, impregnated her, and then murdered her husband to hide his sin (2nd Samuel 11).

Noah got drunk (Genesis 9:21).

Samson had sex with a prostitute (Judges 16:1).

Jonah ran from God (Jonah 1:3).

Peter cursed the name of Jesus and used profanity (Mark 14:71).

One-third of the Bible was written by murderers: Moses, David and Paul (formerly Saul of Tarsus). With the exception of Paul, Moses and David were already saved when they commit murder. Corner foolishly teaches that all these believers LOST their salvation and needed to get saved again. Corner is a heretic!

Dan Corner Perverts Luke 15:24

Corner attempts to use Luke 15:24 to teach that a believer can be repeatedly saved, “For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry.” There is NOTHING in the account of The Prodigal Son to indicate that Jesus was speaking about a believer who had gone into sin and lost salvation. Corner makes that erroneous assumption!

In John 3:3 Jesus proclaimed, “Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” The Bible never speaks of losing one's salvation or of being born again and again and again. Romans 8:9 states, “But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.” Every believer has the Holy Spirit indwelling their body. That Spirit is the Spirit of Jesus Christ and God the Father. To teach that salvation can be lost is to claim that God is not faithful.

Dan Corner teaches that a believer MUST ENDURE 'til the end to be saved. This is unbiblical. Enduring or persevering is a good work. Titus 3:5 states, “Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost.” Yet, critics of Eternal Security claim that works of righteousness are necessary for salvation. They are liars! We are saved by the imputed righteousness of Jesus Christ!

To claim that the Prodigal Son pictures a believer losing salvation is to twist and corrupt the Scripture.

Dan Corner Corrupts the Meaning of Hebrews 12:14

Dan Corner horribly perverts Hebrews 12:14 by alleging that the author of Hebrews was teaching that a believer must continue in holy living to go to Heaven. LIES! The Word of God is adamantly clear in Romans 4:5, "But to him that WORKETH NOT, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness."

Here is a correct interpretation of Hebrews 12:14 by Evangelist Oliver B. Greene...
'Verse 14: "Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord."

This injunction has been so often misunderstood and misapplied that many believers who have endeavored to live holy lives have been tormented and discouraged, thus becoming useless as good stewards, good soldiers in God's great army.

The Greek word here translated "follow" means "to pursue, to follow after." Many believers have been taught from the pulpit that if they do not live above sin - (meaning "sinless perfection") - they cannot hope to see God...

It is not through perfect peace and perfect holiness that we see the Lord: it is by grace through faith! When we have been saved by God's grace, we are to pursue peace and holiness; but we see Jesus because we are covered by the blood and saved by His marvelous grace...

"Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord." We note here our attitude concerning our fellowman, and also our disposition toward God the Father who loved us, and Jesus the Son who saved us.'

Hebrews 12:14 is speaking about our influence upon other people. If we don't pursue peace with others, and live holy lives, then lost sinners WON'T see the Lord in us. You are the only Jesus someone knows. That person may go to Hell if they don't see the Lord in you. As believers, we are supposed to be the light of the world (Matthew 5:14). Jesus said in Matthew 5:13, “Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted?...” Do you know what salt does to people? It makes them THIRSTY! Christians are supposed to be the salt of this sinful world, that cause lost sinners to thirst for God. Have you lost your saltiness, i.e., savor? This is what Hebrews 12:14 means.

In sharp contrast, Dan Corner corrupts Hebrews 12:14, claiming that a person cannot see God unless they continue in holy living. Mr. Corner perverts this Scripture to mean that one's salvation is dependent upon holy living. Clearly, Daniel Corner is a false prophet who doesn't understand the inspired Word of God. He is an unsaved heretic, a modernist who pretends to be a Christian. The Devil is a beautiful liar!

Hebrews 12:15 Explains Verse 14

Hebrews 12:15, "Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled." This Scripture warns us that we have the potential to cause others to sin. A believer who lives in unrepentant sin influences others for evil, like a poison.

Hebrews 12:15 speaks of a "root of bitterness." This Scripture is a quote from Deuteronomy 29:18 in the Old Testament... "Lest there should be among you man, or woman, or family, or tribe, whose heart turneth away this day from the LORD our God, to go and serve the gods of these nations; lest there should be among you a root that beareth gall and wormwood." Thus, when a believer sins, it often causes other believers to fall by the wayside. There's no better example of this than the false prophet, Balaam, in the Old Testament.

Clearly, we see that Hebrews 12:14 refers to our Christian influence upon others; and NOT to our personal salvation.

Most opponents of Eternal Security accuse us of believing that a person can believe on Christ and then go live in gross immorality with no fear of judgment. That is not true. 2nd Corinthians 5:10 warns, "For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad." So you see, every believer must one day stand trial before God at the Judgment Seat of Christ and give account for the good AND THE BAD they have done. No one has God's permission to sin.

However, to corrupt the Gospel into damnable heresy by requiring believers to maintain a holy lifestyle of obedience in order to remain saved is blasphemy. This is what the opponents of Eternal Security have done. It is otherwise known as "Lordship Salvation." I don't know anyone who believes in Eternal Security who is excited over the idea that they can indulge in sinful living without fear of judgment. There WILL BE judgment, but it will be at the Judgment Seat of Christ; and not The Great White Throne of Judgment which will only be for the unsaved (Revelation 20:11-15).

When you think about it, the very fact that God has set apart a judgment entirely for the saved is evidence by itself that believers DO NOT lose their salvation. 1st Corinthians 3:15 states, "If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire." Many believers will receive no rewards in Heaven, and will cry tears of agony and remorse over their wasted lives. 1st Thessalonians 4:6 states, “That no man go beyond and defraud his brother in any matter: because that the Lord is the avenger of all such, as we also have forewarned you and testified.” Every believer will give account to God for the GOOD and the BAD.

Hebrews 12:6-8 tells us that God chastises His children. It doesn't say He disowns them. In fact, Hebrews 13:5 promises us that God will never leave nor forsake His children. God is a faithful God Who keeps His promises.

Salvation is a promise from God, a gift paid for by the literal precious blood of Jesus Christ... “Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.” It is unbiblical to require people to live a holy life as a requirement for salvation. It is a false gospel. Corner spits on the blood sacrifice of Jesus Christ. There is NOTHING we can do to merit or lose salvation.

When will men learn that salvation is of the Lord? The problem is that people like Dan Corner confuse the ROOT of a believer's faith with the FRUIT of the indwelling Holy Spirit (Galatians 5:22-25). Please read, Are We Justified by faith and Works? The Apostle Paul speaks of the ROOT of Abraham's faith in Romans 4:5; but the Apostle James speaks of the FRUIT of the believer's faith in James 2:18-21. The fruit is a result of walking in the Holy Spirit as an obedient child of God, and not as a part of saving faith. To require the fruit as part of saving faith is the lie of Lordship Salvation and a damnable heresy. We must always keep justification wrought by the Man Christ without, completely separate from sanctification by the Spirit of Christ without.

Dan Corner's False Teaching On Sin

Dan Corner teaches that certain sins, e.g., adultery and murder, are worse than other sins and will cause a believer to lose salvation and go to Hell. There is nothing in the Bible to indicate that committing certain sins will cause a believer to lose salvation. All sin is horrible in God's eyes (James 2:10). Mr. Corner twists the Scriptures and makes many inferences where the Bible does not make any direct statements to support his wild theories.

I was listening to one of Dan Corner's radio interviews in which it was said that if a Christian man was shot in the act of adultery, while in the very bed of adultery, that he would go to Hell because he would have died before he had a chance to repent. Folks, that is crazy! Is our salvation that insecure? Can you imagine? If we risk losing our salvation every time we commit certain sins, then it is a Works Salvation. Dan Corner is bad news!

The mighty Bible teacher and man of God Dr. Harry Ironside made the following excellent statement...
“People try to put guards around that truth and say, 'Yes, you are justified by faith if you have enough good works to add to it.' That is not true. It is by faith alone, and good works spring from that. When you know you have eternal life, you will find your heart so filled with love for Christ that you will try to live for His glory.”

Amen! The false teaching that salvation can be lost makes salvation an uncertainty. How much sin can a person commit before losing salvation? What a horrible way to live, being in constant fear of losing salvation if we cross certain sinful lines in our life. This is 100% Works Salvation, which is of the Devil. Whereas the Bible teaches that the believer is secure in the gift of eternal life which is rooted in God's unconditional love (Romans 5:8) and the righteousness of Jesus Christ (Romans 10:3,4); opponents of Eternal Security place salvation in the hands of men, where it is sinfully rooted in self-righteousness. We are saved by HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS; and not our own.

Dan Corner attempts to use 1st John 5:16 to teach that certain sins will cause a believer to lose salvation, i.e., die spiritual, but other sins won't... “If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it.” However, the very next verse thwarts Corner's heresy... “All unrighteousness is sin: and there is a sin not unto death.” Did you read that? ALL SIN is unto death (Romans 6:23). So what does 1st John 5:16 mean?

The wonderful thing that sets Biblical Christianity apart from the religions of the world is that our salvation is based upon God's unconditional love, mercy and grace (John 3:16). In sharp contrast, Muslims, Catholics, Buddhists, Hindus and a host of other religions teach that men can only do their best, through good works and self-sacrifice, and hope they've been good enough to merit Heaven. Biblical Christianity is rooted in God's unconditional love and the righteousness of Jesus Christ; whereas, the world's religions are rooted in hypocrisy and self-righteousness.

Opponents of Eternal Security are Self-righteous Boasters

Those who deny the Eternal Security of the believer are self-righteous hypocrites. Dan Corner thinks he's not as sinful as adulterers, murderers and homosexuals; but he is and he needs to get saved! Please read, Who's The Biggest Sinner? If salvation can be lost, then we're all going to Hell.

It is arrogance and an insult to the blood sacrifice of Jesus Christ for anyone to hypocritically claim that salvation can be lost, but they haven't lost it yet because they're living a righteous life. This is exactly what Ephesians 2:8-9, “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” Every time Mr. Corner says he hasn't sinned unto death he is boasting of his own self-righteousness. All sin is unto death (1st John 5:17; Romans 6:23).

Dan Corner teaches that believers who are guilty of adultery, greed, murder or homosexuality are not of a pure heart and will die spiritually and go to Hell if they don't repent and get saved again. Who does Corner think he is?

Dan Corner is a self-righteous hypocrite, as are his followers. Corner is as much a dirty, rotten, hell-deserving sinner as Adolf Hitler. Yet, he thinks he's secure in his salvation because he is avoiding certain DEEP SINS in his life. He fails to realize that he's already guilty of committing every sin in the Bible... “For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all” (James 2:10). According to James 2:10, Dan Corner is as guilty as the vilest sinner who spits in Jesus' face. Mr. Corner needs to stop teaching heresy and realize that we are all vile, rotten, wicked sinners who can only be saved by HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS!!!

Eternal Life is the Free Gift of God

God is not a liar. God has promised salvation to all those who trust upon the name of Jesus Christ. Romans 10:13, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” God gave us the rainbow as a token that He is an honest God Who keep His promises. Yet, those who deny Eternal Security call God a liar.

The Scriptures expose Dan Corner as a big liar. The Bible teaches that salvation is a “free gift” (Romans 5:15; 6:23). Ephesians 2:8-9, “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” A gift means a gift, with no strings attached.

The very idea that salvation is CONDITIONAL (as Daniel Corner teaches) upon the life we live negates the gift of God. Jesus tells us the only “work” we need to do to be saved. John 6:29, “Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.” That's it, to BELIEVE (i.e., trust) upon Jesus to forgive one's sins. We are sinners and Jesus is the Savior. That is the simplicity of salvation.

Dan Corner is a false prophet! The Word of God exposes Mr. Corner as a false teacher because he requires self-righteous works for salvation. Adding anything to faith alone in Christ is a guaranteed road to Hell. If we are not saved by good works, then how can we be lost by bad works? Salvation is of the Lord. We are NOT saved by our own self-righteous efforts; but rather, by the righteousness of Christ Jesus. Jesus paid a debt He did not owe, because we owed a debt we could not pay. Thank God for the gift of His only begotten Son.

Dan Corner places a heavy burden upon sinners, teaching that their salvation is CONDITIONAL upon holy living, denying the flesh and avoiding certain sins. If this were true, then how could salvation ever be a free gift? It couldn't. By every definition of the word “gift,” it must be offered free of ANY OBLIGATION OR COMPENSATION.

Carefully notice in Romans 12:1 that the Apostle Paul pleads with the believers at Rome to live for the Lord... “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.” Notice that Paul said it was their “reasonable service”; not their required service. 1st Corinthians 6:20 tells us that we are bought with a price, i.e., the blood of Jesus Christ. God gave the ultimate sacrifice to pay for our sins. Thus, eternal life is a free gift that does not require any compensation, obligation or prerequisites to receive it. God does remind us that He paid a great price and we ought to live for Him; but this is NOT mandatory to have the gift of eternal life.

In 1st Corinthians 5:1-5 we read about a Christian man, a member of the Church of Corinth, who was living in open fornication in the church. He was carnal and the church was also carnal (1st Corinthians 3:1). 1st Corinthians 5:5, “To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.” This Christian man was living in unrepentant sin and Paul said to give him over to Satan for “the destruction of the flesh,” but notice that Paul also said the man's spirit would “be saved in the day of the Lord.” He was saved and DIDN'T lose his salvation.

I recently saw a commercial on TV offering a “gift” to anyone who opens a new account at their bank. That is false advertising. If I am required to open an account to get the “gift,” then it's NOT really a gift, it is a reward. There is a big difference between a gift and a reward.

If Saved, Always Saved

There is nothing wrong with the term “Once Saved, Always Saved,” but I prefer the statement, “If Saved, Always Saved” better. If a person is genuinely saved, then there is no possible way that person could ever be unsaved. Christianity is not a philosophy that can be renounced. It is not an organization that can be resigned. It is not a business that can be dissolved. Christianity is a new birth, a supernatural act of God Almighty in response to one's faith in Jesus as the Christ. Once a sinner has been born-again into the family of God, all the hordes of Hell cannot change that. God NEVER disowns His children.

The enemies of Eternal Security fail to address Hebrews 12:6-8 where God says He chastens His children... “For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not? But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.” The Bible doesn't say that God disowns His children; but rather, He chastises them. The idea that God kicks children out of His family when they sin and then requires them to forsake their sins in order to be accepted back into the family is an insult to the blood of Jesus Christ.

The Hypocrisy of Those Who Deny Eternal Security

The biggest flaw in the thinking of Dan Corner, and others like him, is that they fail to realize just how sinful they are themselves. Dan Corner and his followers hypocritically condemn other believers who live in unrepentant sin, failing to realize that they're just as sinful in God's eyes. If salvation can be lost, then who is righteous enough to keep their own salvation? Only a self-righteous hypocrite would claim to be self-righteous enough to please God.

Isaiah 64:6 puts Dan Corner to shame, "But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away."

I thank God that my salvation is solely in the hands of my righteous Savior Jesus Christ; and not dependent upon my own sorry, frail, insufficient, rotten and sinful self-righteousness. Dan Corner's teachings are based in self-righteousness. He is no less a sinner than the adulterous believers he condemns. Dan Corner condemns other believers, whom he considers more sinful than himself, saying they've lost their salvation, but he's just as much a dirty, rotten sinner who fails to see the sinful beam in his own eye.
