You Better Know I Am “Critical” Toward False Gospels

Galatians 3:1-3, “O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you? This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?”

One of my Facebook friends named Ronnie got upset with me today over my article exposing Jack Chick (1924-2016) as a false prophet. Here is my article...

Where Jack Chick Went Wrong On The Gospel

Here is Ronnie's first response:

No, Chick Tracts are of the Devil. Not one verse in the inspired King James Bible requires surrendering your life to Christ, acknowledging Jesus as your LORD, or repenting of your sins, or even to be willing to repent of your sins, to be saved. Jack Chick (1924-2016) meant well, but he was doctrinally corrupt and off base. 

Over the past 24 years of website ministry, I have received numerous testimonies from frustrated Christians who before they were saved had been misled by Chick Tracts, thinking that God would not save them until they were willing to stop fornicating, stop getting drunk and stop living a lifestyle of sinning. If they had died during that time of ignorance, they would have went to Hell forever because Jack Chick lied to them. 

Jonah 3:10, “And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them; and he did it not.” The Bible calls turning from their evil ways "works." This passage also says that God Himself "repented." So, repentance cannot mean to turn from one's sins because God cannot sin. 

Despite his great art work, Jack Chick was a dangerous false prophet!

Kindly, I didn't want to do it Ronnie, but I have unfriended you. It's the only way that I can silence the foolish critics. If you think I am being "critical" as a Bible preacher to contend for the Christian faith, as the Bible commends the saints to do (Jude 1:3), then you clearly are not right with God.

Furthermore, I seriously doubt if you are saved, since you are wickedly defending Chick Tracts which plainly teach another gospel.

Millions of churchgoers and non-churchgoers alike have been horribly misled by today's senseless incompetent pastors to believe that God won't save them unless they are first willing to forsake a lifestyle of sinning. Ray Comfort, Paul Washer, Marty Herron, Jeff Redlin, Albert Mohler, Charles Stanley, Joel Osteen, Kirk Cameron, Pensacola Christian College, Bob Jones University, Mormons, Roman Catholics, Jehovah's Witnesses, Church of Christ, Reformed Baptists (Calvinists), Neo-Evangelical Baptists, Seventh-Day Adventists—all require a willingness to forsake sinful BEHAVIOR to be saved.

Yet, in all the passages of the inspired King James Bible, I cannot find even one place where anyone was required to turn from their sins, repent of their sins, be willing to turn from their sins, surrender their life to Christ, acknowledge Jesus as LORD, or anything else to get to Heaven other than to simply BELIEVE that Jesus is the Christ, the only begotten Son of God; and to trust that He died on a cross to pay for our sins, was buried, but three days later resurrected from the dead. This is the only Gospel, nothing else (1st Corinthians 15:1-4).

In Acts 16:30-31 when the Roman jailer asked what he needed to do to be saved, Paul and Silas simply answered: "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved."

In John 6:28-29 when some people asked Jesus what works they needed to do to work the works of God, Jesus answered: "This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent."

Yet, Jack Chick comes along with his own corrupt theology and writes in over one billion Chick Tracts that God will not save you unless you are first "willing to turn from sin," which is nowhere found in the Holy Bible. Shame on you Ronnie for defending false doctrine.
I used to be one of the biggest fans of Jack Chick 30 years ago. I bought Chick Tracts by the boxes to distribute. I bought his sample packs galore because I wanted all of his literature. I bought his comic magazines, the whole shebang!

But after I started my website ministry in 2002, a web visitor contacted me about Chick Tracts. At first I refused to turn on one of my childhood heroes, Jack Chick. I was captivated as a child and teenager by his alluring artwork.

My ministry friend warned me about Jack Chick. I still remember that his name was Herald. He told me that for a period of about five years he wanted to be saved, but after reading Chick Tracts thought that he couldn't be saved without first giving up the sins in his life, which he wasn't willing to do. Herald told me that if he had died, he would be burning in the Lake of Fire forever because Jack Chick LIED TO HIM. And yet you wickedly defend him? Shame on you.

Herald opened my eyes. But at first I was stubborn, like you are being. It literally took six months for me to come around, before I was finally willing to do what needed to be done. I was defensive at first, like you are being now. I made excuses for Jack Chick, but the seed of truth had been planted into my soul. For six months the truth gnawed at my conscience, bothering me day by day what Herald had said.

One day I remembered a sermon that I had heard by Pastor Jack Hyles titled, "The Axe Is Laid To The Root." I decided to just lay the axe to the root and decide once and for all if what Jack Chick is preaching is sound Bible doctrine. I firmly concluded that it is not! I simply cannot justify what Jack Chick is preaching in his cartoon literature with the inspired Word of God. You better believe that I am being "critical" and so should you be doing if you cared.

What we believe ultimately determines where we will spend eternity. Either you must be willing to forsake your sinful behavior to be saved, or you don't have to, but it cannot be both. By falsely accusing me of being "critical" for contending for the faith in defense of a free grace Gospel without works, you are wickedly endorsing multiple plans of salvation. Think about it.

Beware Of False Prophet Pastor Roland Rasmussen

Acts 15:1, “And certain men which came down from Judaea taught the brethren, and said, Except ye be circumcised after the manner of Moses, ye cannot be saved.”

In our text passage of Scripture from the New Testament we see a blatant counterfeit Gospel. Salvation has never come to anyone who added words (law) to faith (grace).

Pastor Roland Rasmussen was born June 3, 1929 in Long Beach, California, USA, and died August 11, 2020 in Simi Valley, California, USA. In 1949, Roland Rasmussen promised to become the pastor if God would save his father's life. The next September, Roland left his family and his career in engineering to prepare for the ministry. On one of his many trips to Bob Jones University, he met Margaret Wilkerson. The two fell in love, married, completed their training, and returned to California in 1958 where they served on staff at a church.
In 1960, a newly started church in Canoga Park asked Roland Rasmussen to be their pastor. Dr. Rasmussen pastored at Faith Baptist Church for 50 years.

Tragically, Pastor Rasmussen preached Satan's hard core fraud of Lordship Salvation.

Roland Rasmussen's Heresy Of A Prewrath Rapture

YouTube actually censored and removed this Rapture video from my DaveC6th channel, claiming it was too emotionally traumatizing for some people...lol. Unbelievable! Yet, hypocritically, YouTube allows war documentaries showing decayed dead bodies, graphic videos showing 99% naked women wearing dental floss, cross-dressing Sodomite transvestites, et cetera. YouTube are such hypocrites! If the coming Rapture traumatizes you, then whatever you do don't read the Holy Bible, because it will scare the Hell into you!

That being said, I respect the view of other Christians who ascribe to a Prewrath Rapture position, but I firmly believe in a Pretribulation Rapture. In my humble opinion, that is the only doctrinal position which prevents us from knowing WHEN Jesus will return. Jesus plainly said that no man, not even the angels, know the TIME of His return (Mark 13:32-37). I believe Mark 13:32-37 speaks of the coming Rapture of the saints, because if it refers to Jesus Second Coming that wouldn't make sense, because Daniel 12:11 gives us the exact number of days until Christ's Second Coming.

The following Scripture passage confirms that the Abomination of Desolation event will happen half way through the Tribulation period, which when cross referenced with Daniel 12:11, is how we know that the Tribulation will last for 7-years. So, those who are familiar with the inspired Word of God during the Tribulation period will know exactly when the Second Coming will happen. I humbly believe at the end of the 1,290 days that Jesus will return TO THE EARTH at His Second Coming. At the Rapture the saints will meet Jesus IN THE AIR (1st Thessalonians 4:13-18). It is interesting how different preachers can view the same Scriptures and form different conclusions. That is to be expected. The timing of the Rapture is a minor doctrine that I do not believe is worth Christians splitting over. Some believers go ballistic if you don't agree with their theology.

I humbly agree with Pastor Steven Anderson that there are two Deal Breakers. One is the free grace Gospel, and the other is the inspiration of the King James Bible. All of the modern English Bible revisions are corrupt! Lordship Salvation and the fraud of "repent of your sins" to get to Heaven are damnable doctrines of devils. If you are wrong on the Gospel you cannot go soulwinning!

I realize that my ministry friend Pastor Anderson preaches a Prewrath Rapture. I have tremendous respect for his zeal for what Pastor Anderson believes. I mean, Faithful Word Baptist Church paid several thousand dollars to mail Brother Anderson's “After The Tribulation” movie DVD's to 6,500 Independent Baptist Churches across the United States. Wow! I love it!

Beware Of Dr. Roland Rasmussen

I remember while I was a student at Hyles-Anderson College (1985-1993), that Pastor Jack Hyles mailed a letter to Pastor Roland Rasmussen (1929-2020) in California, informing him that he could no longer preach at Hyles-Anderson College due to his denial of a Pretribulation Rapture. I humbly think this was part of the reason why Tim, Rita and Mark Rasmussen (Pastor Rasmussen's adult children) were among the dozens of disgruntled staff members who turned against Brother Hyles in 1989. Brother Toby Weaver is still married to Rita and he was my teacher for “Christian Manhood” at Hyles-Anderson College. Brother Weaver later apologized to Pastor Hyles and they renewed their friendship.

Brother Hyles said that 1989 was the darkest year of his ministry, which he dreaded. When the college kids did a skit to honor Brother Hyles, going year by year of his ministry starting with 1959 when by God's grace he came to Hammond, Indiana, Pastor Hyles said he was dreading when they got to 1989, but thankfully they skipped over that year. Brother Hyles said that he breathed a sigh of relief. Brother Hyles preached this fiery sermon in 1989 in defense of himself, friends, family and church, titled 'Weathering The Storm.'

Dr. Hyles attributed the ruthless Satanic attack to ungodly neo-evangelicals. I can say personally that wicked neo-evangelicals have also been my worst enemies over the decades. I'm talking about ungodly institutions; such as: Pensacola Christian College, Bob Jones University, harvest Baptist Church on Guam, Faith Baptist Bible College And Theological Seminary, Family Baptist Church in Pensacola. Smyrna Baptist Church in Pensacola, Agana Heights Baptist Church on Guam, et cetera. All of these damned religious cults are wrong on repentance and God's simple plan of salvation! I hate Lordship Salvation!!!

Pastor Roland Rasmussen allegedly led Pastor Steven Anderson's parents to Christ. I say allegedly because something was very WRONG with Dr. Rasmussen's plan of salvation.

Repentance Versus the Heresies of Curtis Hutson & Jack Hyles

Repentance Versus the Heresies of Curtis Hutson & Jack Hyles: An Open Letter (dated Dec. 12, 1996) to Dr. Shelton Smith, Editor of Sword of the Lord. By Roland Rasmussen. Published in pamphlet form by Faith Baptist Church of Canoga Park, CA. 21 pp. $1.00.

Having written my doctoral dissertation on repentance and salvation, I read this booklet with keen interest. As the title suggests, this booklet could hardly be described as irenic; it is a strong attack on the Free Grace view of the gospel.

Its thesis is that faith alone is not sufficient to save anyone. According to Rasmussen, sorrow for sin and turning from sins are also required for salvation.

This raises a problem for anyone who believes in justification by faith alone. How can justification be by faith alone if remorse and “abandonment of sin” (p. 13) are also required? However, seemingly unaware that what he is saying contradicts justification by faith alone, Rasmussen rebukes the late Dr. Hutson for teaching that faith and repentance are synonyms. Hutson advocated the change-of-mind view also held by such men as Drs. Lewis Sperry Chafer and Charles C. Ryrie. Rasmussen directly states that “faith and repentance are not the same” (p. 19, though no page numbers appear in the booklet). Clearly there can be no other conclusion than that for Rasmussen there are at least two (or even three) conditions of salvation: 1) faith, and 2) remorse over—and turning from—one’s sins. Faith isn’t enough. Nor are faith and remorse enough (see p. 13). All three are required.

Rasmussen doesn’t say, but one wonders which sins must be abandoned? How would a person seeking salvation know what he or she had to give up in order to be saved? Should we carry around a list of the sins which must be forsaken? If so, where do we get this list? Does the Bible contain a list of sins that must be forsaken to gain the free gift of eternal life? Logically, if sins must be abandoned, then all sins must be abandoned. That would include both sins of commission—things we do which we are commanded not to do (such as lying, cheating, stealing, coveting, being jealous, having outbursts of anger, etc.) and sins of omission—things we fail to do but are commanded to do (such as praying without ceasing, giving, loving our neighbor as ourselves, owing no man anything, loving your wife as Christ loves the church, submitting to your husband, etc.).

There are many biblical difficulties inherent in the view that one must abandon his sins in order to gain eternal salvation—none of which is answered in the booklet. According to the Gospel of John, the only book in the Bible whose express purpose is evangelistic (John 20:31), the only condition of eternal life is believing in Jesus. Repentance isn’t mentioned even once.

Jesus didn’t tell the woman at the well in John 4:17-18ff that she needed to be sorry for her sins, or that she needed to resolve to give them up. Nor did John indicate that she was sorry, or that she determined to turn from her sins.

Likewise in Acts 15:7-11; 16:30-31 and Ephesians 2:8-9 there is no mention of remorse or turning from sins. Salvation is not of works, lest anyone should boast.

If even one passage in Scripture clearly shows that a person is saved by faith alone, apart from remorse or turning from sins (and many do), then we can be sure that faith is the only requirement, since Scripture is without error and doesn’t contradict itself.

This booklet contains three citations from seventeenth century Baptist creeds which adopt the view that to be saved one must have remorse for his sins and must either resolve to amend his life or else actually endeavor to do so. While this is interesting, I wonder what it proves. The issue, which surely Rasmussen would agree with, is what the Scriptures teach, not the Council of Trent, Vatican II, the Westminster Confession of Faith, or the Second London Confession of 1688 (one of the Baptist Creeds Rasmussen cites). Even if every Baptist who ever lived held Rasmussen’s view—and thank God they have not—if the Scriptures don’t teach that view, then it must be rejected.

Herein lies the major weakness of Rasmussen’s presentation: The author devotes only about one page (part of pp. 15 and 16) in an effort to show that his position is biblical. Interestingly, in none of the limited passages he cites is salvation even mentioned! The closest is Luke 13:3, which says, “Except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.” That text in no way proves Rasmussen’s view. In the first place, some commentators feel that Jesus was speaking of perishing physically. Jesus may well have been promising that, apart from national repentance, Israel would fall and be removed from the promised land and many Jews would die. (This is what happened in the Jewish Wars of A.D. 66-70.) In the second place, even if this is referring to individuals and eternal condemnation, one must still determine what Jesus meant here by “repent” (metanoeō). Rasmussen fails to show contextual evidence that it doesn’t mean “change of mind regarding Christ,” as Hutson and Hyles would presumably argue. In fact, he merely cites the verse and moves on, with not a word of comment about it.

Rasmussen would like for Sword of the Lord to adopt his view of the gospel. Fortunately, that isn’t likely to happen, since Sword of the Lord has long stood for the clear gospel, the free gift of eternal life received by faith alone in Christ alone.

How can a false prophet who is wrong on repentance lead anyone to Jesus Christ? I think not. I am not saying that Pastor Anderson's parents are not saved, because only they know that. Their son Pastor Steven Anderson exposes the fraud of Lordship Salvation, and I know that he is saved. So, I believe his parents are also saved, following the faith if their son. Unfortunately, Pastor Rasmussen (1929-2020) preached hard core Lordship Salvation, as I just showed you. 

Please BEWARE of any false prophet, no matter how suave and likable he may be, who insists that to get to Heaven you must turn from your sinning, or even be willing to turn from your sinful bad habits, because that is works, not grace. Romans 4:4, “Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt.” Since the only sin that can hinder you from going to Heaven is unbelief, then that is the only sin you need to repent (change your mind) about to be saved. Faith is the only righteous thing that I can do.

John MacArthur Was Very Dishonest In His Preaching

Ephesians 2:8-10, “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.”

I just ordered a used copy of Pastor John MacArthur's (1939-2025) poisonous book titled, “The Gospel According To Jesus,” so I could expose MacArthur and his toxic false plan of salvation. Kindly said, I have no doubt whatsoever that Mr. MacArthur is now sadly burning in hell, fire and damnation forever. What he teaches is simply NOT a free grace Gospel. MacArthur is guilty of cheery-picking the inspired Scripture and preacher's books to support his perverse agenda of Lordship Salvation. John MacArthur was a crooked theologian!

Dr. Harry Ironside DIDN'T Agree With Lordship Salvation

Case in point is page 176 from chapter 17 titled, “The Call To Repentance,” where Dr. MacArthur dishonestly attempts to portray Pastor Harry A. Ironside (1876-1951) as agreeing with his perverse Lordship Salvation. MacArthur selectively quotes the following words from chapter one of Dr. Ironside's book, “Except Ye Repent,” to misrepresent his beliefs:

Shallow preaching that does not grapple with the terrible fact of man's sinfulness and guilt, calling on "all men everywhere to repent," results in shallow conversions; and so we have a myriad of glib-tongued professors today who give no evidence of regeneration whatever. Prating of salvation by grace, they manifest no grace in their lives. Loudly declaring they are justified by faith alone, they fail to remember that "faith without works is dead"; and that justification by works before men is not to be ignored as though it were in contradiction to justification by faith before God. We need to reread James 3 and let its serious message sink deep into our hearts, that it may control our lives. "If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me." No man can truly believe in Christ, who does not first repent. Nor will his repentance end when he has saving faith, but the more he knows God as he goes on through the years, the deeper will that repentance become. A servant of Christ said: "I repented before I knew the meaning of the word. I have repented far more since than I did then." —Pastor John MacArthur, 'The Gospel According To Jesus,' p. 176, chapter 17 (MacArthur is quoting Harry Ironside from chapter one of Ironside's book, 'Except Ye Repent')

Ostensibly (by appearance alone) this quote seems to evidence that Dr. Ironside agreed with John MacArthur's perverse Lordship Salvation heresy. Dr. MacArthur is woefully guilty of horribly misrepresenting what Pastor Ironside actually believed and taught.

Dear reader, if you'll simply read the rest of chapter one it will become abundantly clear that these two men were world's apart in their views on repentance and God's simple plan of salvation. Dr. Ironside plainly teaches in chapter one of 'Except Ye Repent' that penance (sorrow for sin), penance (amending one's wrongs) and reformation (turning from sins) are NOT Bible repentance. In chapter one, Pastor Ironside makes the following statement which totally contradicts MacArthur's works-based Lordship Salvation garbage...

“Need I add that repentance then is not to be considered synonymous with joining a church or taking up one's religious duties, as people say. It is not doing anything.” —Pastor Harry Ironside, 'Except Ye Repent,' chapter one

Wow, this one quote silences John MacArthur! Did you here that Mr. MacArthur? Repentance is not doing anything!!! Pastor Ironside is absolutely correct. We get saved by RESTING in the finished redemptive work of Jesus Christ through Calvary's cross 2,000 years ago, not by forsaking a sinful lifestyle, taking up our cross or following Christ as “Lord” of our life. Hebrews 4:10-11, “For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.” Simply believe that Jesus did it all for you and rest in Him.

I love this next quote from chapter one by Pastor Harry Ironside, which Dr. MacArthur conveniently and no doubt deliberately left out of his heretical book, “The Gospel According To Jesus”...

Which comes first, repentance or faith? In Scripture we read, "Repent ye, and believe the gospel." Yet we find true believers exhorted to "repent, and do the first works." So intimately are the two related that you cannot have one without the other. The man who believes God repents; the repentant soul puts his trust in the Lord when the Gospel is revealed to him. Theologians may wrangle over this, but the fact is, no man repents until the Holy Spirit produces repentance in his soul through the truth. No man believes the Gospel and rests in it for his own salvation until he has judged himself as a needy sinner before God. And this is repentance.

In sharp contrast, John MacArthur foolishly writes on page 177 of his book, “The Gospel According To Jesus”...

These writers and others have redefined repentance in a way that evacuates its moral ramifications. They write it off as simply a change of mind about who Christ is. This kind of repentance has nothing to do with turning from sin or abandoning self. It is utterly devoid of any recognition or personal guilt, any intent to obey God, or any desire for true righteousness.

That is not the kind of repentance that Jesus preached. As we have seen repeatedly, the Gospel according to Jesus is as much a call to forsake sin as it is a summons to faith. —Pastor John MacArthur, 'The Gospel According To Jesus,' p. 177, chapter 17

No, Mr. MacArthur, you cannot show me anywhere in the inspired King James Bible where Jesus required anyone to turn away from sinful bad habits to be saved. Eternal life is a free gift (Romans 5:15-18). Salvation is received, not achieved.

John MacArthur Perverts The Meaning Of Repentance

The Greek noun for “repent” in the New Testament is metanoia, which simply means “a change of mind.” The verb form for “repent” is the Greek word metanoeo , which means “to think differently.” In sharp contrast to THE TRUTH, look what John MacArthur redefines repentance to mean on page 178 of his toxic book...

Repentance is not merely sorrow or shame for sin, although genuine repentance always involves an element of remorse. It is a redirection of the human will, a purposeful decision to forsake all unrighteousness and pursue righteousness instead. —Pastor John MacArthur, 'The Gospel According To Jesus,' p. 178, chapter 17

No, that is NOT what it means to repent! It gets much worse. Read what Dr. MacArthur writes on page 180...

Volitionally, repentance involves a change of direction, a transformation of the will. Far from being only a change of mind, it constitutes a willingness — more accurately, a determination — to abandon stubborn disobedience and surrender the will to Christ. As such, genuine repentance will inevitably result in a change of behavior. The behavior change itself is not repentance, but it is the fruit repentance will certainly bear. Where there is no observable difference in conduct, there can be no confidence that repentance has taken place (Matt. 3:8; cf. 1 John 2:3-6; 3:17). Real repentance alters the character of the whole man. —Pastor John MacArthur, 'The Gospel According To Jesus,' p. 178, chapter 17

Whereas the inspired Word of God simply defines repentance unto life (the new birth) as a change of mind, Pastor MacArthur corrupts repentance to mean much more:

1. a change of direction
2. a transformation of the will
3. a willingness and determination to abandon a stubborn disobedience
4. surrender the will to Christ
5. a change of behavior
6. an observable difference in conduct
7. whole character altered

Since Mr. MacArthur wrongly assumes that you haven't repented unless your life has positively changed and there is observable proof of it, we can add those as his requirements for repentance. As you can plainly see, John MacArthur is preaching another gospel (2nd Corinthians 11:3-4) that is totally foreign to the free grace of God that brings true salvation.

Where MacArthur goes horrible astray is in his perverse understanding of what changes a person's life who gets saved. Throughout his poisonous book, MacArthur attributes a changed life to repentance, just as the religious cult as Pensacola Christian College also does.

A changed behavior in the life of a born again believer is the “fruit” of the indwelling Holy Spirit, if we choose to walk in that Holy Spirit. What saith the Scripture?

Galatians 5:22-25, “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.”

To be alive (i.e., to live) in the Spirit is the new birth, which is salvation. But to walk in the Spirit is discipleship, or service for Christ. One thing has nothing to do with the other. John Bunyan said it perhaps best...

“If you do not put a difference between justification wrought by the man Christ without and sanctification wrought by the Spirit of Christ within, you are not able to divide the Word aright; but contrariwise, you corrupt the Word of God, and cast stumbling blocks before the people.” —John Bunyan (1628-1688)

In other words, we must always keep SERVICE separated from SALVATION, lest we corrupt the inspired Word of God and confuse people. Remember, the Devil's greatest weapon is to con people into living the Christian life without ever being born again. That is what the hellbound Roman Catholics, Church of Christ, Lutherans, Mormons, Jehovah's Witnesses, Neo-Evangelicals, Lordship Salvationists and Reformed Calvinist Southern Baptists are all doing—living the Christian life, but they've never been born again by faith alone in the Good News (Gospel) of Jesus Christ crucified, buried and bodily risen the third day from the dead.

In Pastor Ironside's book “Except Ye Repent,” in chapter 8 titled “Repentance From Dead Works,” he writes these helpful words regarding Hebrews 6:1...

What then is meant by "repentance from dead works"? It is a complete change of mind, whereby the convicted sinner gives up all thought of being able to propitiate God by effort of his own and acknowledges that he is as bad as the Word has declared him to be. He turns right about face. Instead of relying on his own fancied merits he turns to the Lord for deliverance and seeks for mercy through the Saviour God has provided. —Pastor Harry Ironside, 'Except Ye Repent,' chapter eight

As you can see from his own writing, Dr. Ironside limits the change of mind (which is repentance) to salvation alone, and not surrendering one's will to follow or serve Christ, turn away from personal sinful bad habits nor anything else which would constitute works.

None can perish who put their trust in Him. Bravo Pastor Ironside! The Bible does not require sorrow over sins to be saved. Sorrow is not repentance, it is penitence. I love this helpful quote from Pastor Brad Strand in Texas...

True repentance has nothing to do with “turning from sin” and everything to do with “acknowledging one's sinfulness” (Jonah 3:5). Like the thief on the cross who simply acknowledged his sinfulness (Lk 23:39-43), the only part a person has in salvation is the beggar's part. —Pastor Brad Strand, “The Strand Study Bible,” p. 1939

Yes, bravo Brother Strand!

I hope you now see dear reader what a theological fraudster John MacArthur really was (and still is posthumously by his lingering demonic influence). Just like Satan, MacArthur is very subtle. All the while he is redefining what it means to biblically “repent,” he is misleading you by wresting the words of Paul, James, Jesus, Harry Ironside and others to deceive you. Pastor MacArthur is a horrible liar! The road to Hell is paved with sincerity (Proverbs 16:25).

I admit that 95% of MacArthur's Bible teachings were often accompanied by brilliant theological insights. I learned many things from the man. That being said, sadly John MacArthur was very wrong on what a person must do to get to Heaven. The true Gospel always points you to CHRIST; a false gospel always points to YOU.

John MacArthur Perverts Matthew 7:13-14

To further indict this damnable false prophet who masqueraded as a man of God, read MacArthur's poisonous words from chapter 20 titled, “The Way Of Salvation,” page 205...

Salvation is not easy. “The gate is small . . . and few are those who find it” (Matt. 7:14). The implication is that unless a person is looking diligently for the gate, he or she is not likely to know it is there. In Jeremiah 29:13 God says, “You will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.” 

The message of Jesus cannot be made to accommodate any kind of cheap grace or easy-believism. The kingdom is not for people who want Jesus without any change in their lives. It is only for those who seek it with all their hearts. 

In fact, many who approach the gate turn away when they discover how narrow it is. Did you ever try to get through a turnstile with an armload of suitcases? That is the imagery Jesus' words evoke. The narrow gate is not wide enough for superstars who want to enter with all their valuables. The rich young ruler searched until he found the gate. But when he saw that entering  meant he had to leave his baggage behind, he turned away. Whoever we are, whatever we treasure, when we reach the narrow gate, we can expect to have to drop everything. Extra baggage — such as self-righteousness, selfishness, sin, and materialism — will not make it through intact. —Pastor John MacArthur, 'The Gospel According To Jesus,' p. 205, chapter 20, 'The Way Of Salvation'

On page 206 MacArthur further states...

Receiving Christ does not mean we can merely add Jesus to the refuse of our lives. Salvation is a total transformation: “If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come” (2 Cor. 5:17). What could be clearer than that? Old things pass away. Sin and selfishness and worldly pleasure are replaced by new things. This is the whole point of salvation: it produces a changed life. —Pastor John MacArthur, 'The Gospel According To Jesus,' p. 206, chapter 20, 'The Way Of Salvation'

Dear reader, what you've just read is false doctrine spawned from the Prince of Darkness himself. There are several errors in Dr. MacArthur's teachings here...

First, Pastor MacArthur foolishly says, “Receiving Christ does not mean we can merely add Jesus to the refuse of our lives.” Yes, that is exactly what the Bible means. “Refuse” is discarded trash. God only saves bad people, wretched sinners like you and me who deserve nothing less than to burn in the fires of Hell forever. Christ died for the vilest of sinners, for all mankind (Romans 5:6-9; 1st John 2:2). Salvation is not a reward for the righteous, it is a gift for the guilty. Salvation is not doing your best, it is having Christ's best put to your account through receiving Him by faith. The true Gospel always points you to CHRIST; a false gospel always points to YOU. JESUS PAID IT ALL!!!

Second, the passage that MacArthur cites from Jeremiah 29:13 has nothing to do with God's free gift of salvation. The prophet Jeremiah in this passage is addressing “the elders which were carried away captives, and to the priests, and to the prophets, and to all the people whom Nebuchadnezzar had carried away captive from Jerusalem to Babylon” (Jeremiah 29:1b). The prophet is telling backslidden Israel how to get right with God, not how to get to Heaven. Romans 4:4 plainly teaches that everyone in the Old Testament was saved by faith without works, lest God owe sinner's a debt for their good works.

Third, MacArthur heretically writes, “The message of Jesus cannot be made to accommodate any kind of cheap grace or easy-believism.” What an ignorant incompetent fool for a pastor! Dear reader, grace is not “cheap,” it is completely FREE because Jesus paid for it with His precious blood (1st Peter 1:18-19). Furthermore, the only way to be saved is by “easy-believism.” Woe unto the preacher who makes it difficult to be saved. In 2nd Corinthians 11:3-4 the Apostle Paul calls the Gospel “the simplicity that is in Christ.” It is free, simple and easy to be born again!

• Getting saved is as simple as looking to Jesus (John 3:14-16; Isaiah 45:22).
• Getting saved is as simple as drinking a cup of water (John 4:13-14; 6:35).
• Getting saved is as easy as eating a piece of bread (John 6:51).
• Getting saved is as easy as walking through a door (John 10:9).

Fourth, MacArthur heretically writes, “The kingdom is not for people who want Jesus without any change in their lives. It is only for those who seek it with all their hearts.” That is simply theological bullcrap! Nowhere in the Word of God do we find a situation where a lost sinner was required to first be willing to reform their behavior to receive God's free gift of eternal life. 

Tragically, Mr. MacArthur is preaching a perverted works-based plan of salvation which cannot produce the new birth. You cannot show me one Scripture passage that mandates having a burning desire to life a changed life to be saved. That is 100% pure salvation by works!

Fifth, MacArthur heretically writes, “Salvation is a total transformation: 'If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come' (2 Cor. 5:17).” Nowhere does this passage of Scripture imply that getting saved means immediately living a changed life. The ONLY thing that a person receives at salvation is the gift of the indwelling Holy Spirit (Romans 8:9; 1st John 3:24). Salvation does NOT change a person's behavior one bit! At salvation there is a transfer of ownership from Satan to God, but then the life must be renovated, which is the job of the local New Testament church as part of The Great Commission to teach converts “all things” which Jesus taught (Matthew 28:19-20).

Once saved, the indwelling Holy Spirit begins to work on that individual to change their life, as they grow in the milk of the Word (1st Peter 2:2), and grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ (2nd Peter 3:18), but this ongoing process of sanctification requires a lifetime. To demand that a lost sinner commit to living a mature Christian life as a prerequisite to being saved is to horribly pervert the gift of God's free grace.

Sixth, MacArthur foolishly writes, “This is the whole point of salvation: it produces a changed life.” That is simple untrue! The new birth brings the indwelling Holy Spirit, but the new birth itself does not change someone at all. A changed life is the “fruit” of the Holy Spirit (Galatians 5:22-25); not a result of repentance, which would equate to manmade reformation (works).

I am sick and tired of unsaved Neo-evangelical fools like the leaders at Pensacola Christian College (PCC) and John MacArthur, falsely teaching that the burden to change rests upon the sinner's shoulders if he or she wants to be saved, or to prove that they are saved.

Again and again throughout the Holy Bible we see lost sinners coming to Christ by faith alone without works (Abel, Joseph, Abram, Moses, David, Habakkuk, the Samaritan woman at Jacob's well, the Samaritans whom she witnessed to, the Ethiopian Eunuch, Cornelius, the Roman jailer, Paul, the 3,000 on the Day of Pentecost, et cetera), and no one demanded that they first commit to reform, live a better life, follow Christ or surrender all to Jesus as “Lord” to get to Heaven. Satan is a beautiful liar!

John MacArthur was a very dishonest man in his preaching, wresting the inspired Word of God to his own destruction (2nd Peter 3:16-17). If MacArthur went to Heaven, then there are two different Gospels. Galatians 1:6-7 warns that there is only ONE GOSPEL!!!

The Devil's fraud of Lordship Salvation mixes and combines service with salvation, perverting God's saving grace by adding works to faith. True biblical salvation is promised only to those repentant sinners who trust alone in Christ's sacrifice on the cross, burial and His bodily resurrection three days later. 1st Thessalonians 4:14, “For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.”

I cannot warn everyone enough to RUN from hellbound infidels' John MacArthur, PCC, R.C. Sproul, Paul Washer, Bob Jones University (BJU), Marty Herron, Harvest Baptist Church on Guam, Smyrna Baptist Church in Pensacola, Family Baptist Church in Pensacola, Faith Baptist Bible College in Iowa, Brad and Bobby Moffett, Billy and Franklin Graham, John Thompson, Jeff Redlin, Joel Osteen, Steven Furtick, The 700 Club, Beth Moore, Joyce Meyer, Ray Comfort, John Hagee, Adrian Rogers, Charles Stanley, Unshackled radio, Chick Tracts, William P. Grady, Sam Gipp, Keith Gomez, Pater S. Ruckman and thousands of other FOOLS who are WRONG on God's simple plan of salvation. Every one of those woefully ignorant reprobates errantly teach that you must forsake a lifestyle of sinning to be saved; whereas the inspired Holy Bible declares that Jesus Christ came into the world to die on a cross to pay for the sins of the world, that we might be saved through Him (John 3:16-18).

God desires for all of His children to live a life of doing good works (Ephesians 2:10; Matthew 5:16), but this has absolutely NOTHING to do with accepting God's free gift of eternal life through faith alone in Christ. We are saved through God's imputed righteousness which is by faith alone in Jesus, and not because we turned from our sinning (which is effectively keeping the Mosaic law to be saved). We are saved by God's righteousness alone through faith in His only begotten Son, because we have no righteousness to offer God (2nd Corinthians 5:21; Philippians 3:9; Isaiah 64:6). Faith is the only righteous thing that I can do.

Lordship Salvation Causes Fear, Torment, Anxiety And Stress

John 5:39-40, “Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life.”

More deadly than a mother bear robbed of her cubs is the Devil's damnable lie of Lordship Salvation. What is Lordship Salvation? It is a deadly heresy that teaches faith in the Gospel of Jesus Christ is not enough to be saved. In addition, a lost person is falsely told that they must turn away from their sinful behavior, surrender their life to serve Jesus, follow Christ no matter what the cost, commit your life to Christ, live a changed life, et cetera.

Lordship Salvation requires WORKS as evidence that you FAITH is genuine. So if a professed believer in Christ doesn't live a changed life, proponents of Lordship Salvation will conclude that the person's faith is not real and they are still unsaved. The Damage of Lordship Salvation with John MacArthur

This my dear reader is the sorrowful fruit of Lordship Salvation: stress, anxiety, worry, guilt, fear, condemnation, confusion and torment. This is what happens when you are taught to focus on the sinner rather than the Savior; analyzing self rather than searching the Scriptures; resting in my performance rather than His promise; looking in the mirror rather than looking unto Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith. Hebrews 12:2, “Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.” The true Gospel always points you to CHRIST; a false gospel always points to YOU.

Pastor John MacArthur horribly lies to this young woman in the preceding video, telling her:

“The way you know that you're saved is by your desire.” —John MacArthur

What saith the Scripture? 1st John 3:24, “And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.” What does the Bible command all men concerning getting saved? John 6:40, “And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.” That is God's commandment to receive eternal life.

Let'[s see what Jesus said in John 6:28-29, “Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God? Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.” Many people wrongly divide the Word of Truth (the Bible), tormenting themselves with a lie. One could easily assume that 1st John 3:24 is speaking about keeping all of God's commandments to get to Heaven, but that would be foolish, because we should NEVER base a doctrine on a single passage of Scripture. A good rule to follow when interpreting the Bible is to never use an obscure passage to contradict a clear one. We have the entire Gospel of John, which was authored by God specifically to show mankind how to get to Heaven. John 20:31, “But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.” Faith is the only righteous thing that I can do.

I receive hundreds of emails each year from people who are afraid they are not saved because of the sins in their life. This is the adverse consequence of the Devil's lie of Lordship Salvation. These poor souls have been lied to by wicked preachers. They have been deceived by the Devil concerning what God requires to get to Heaven. The Devil is a beautiful liar! Lordship Salvation is damnable heresy which causes stress, anxiety, fear, torment, tears and confusion in its victims. Those who trust in Lordship Salvation are always analyzing them self instead of "searching the Scriptures" (John 5:39). They are looking in the mirror, instead of looking to Jesus the Author and Finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:2). Dear friend, RUN from Lordship Salvation. 

My dear friend in the ministry Michael P. Bowen was also a victim of Lordship Salvation for several years. Michael admits that if he had died during that time of anxiety, stress and confusion over God's plan of salvation, he would have went to a burning Hell forever. Thankfully, Michael testifies that one day he heard a sermon by Pastor Hank Lindstrom (1940-2008) that finally showed him THE TRUTH OF THE GOSPEL and Michael became a born-again Christian. That sermon is called: 'How Permanent Is Your Salvation?'

Michael Bowen wrote a helpful book about his ordeal, and he shows you exactly how you can also know that you are going to Heaven. Lordship Salvation is of the Devil. You get saved by coming to God as a needy guilty sinner (not by forsaking your sinful ways), and simply receiving Christ's sacrifice on the cross as payment for your sins. Nothing more is required or allowed by God, except faith in the Good News (Gospel) of His only begotten Son crucified, buried and risen for your sins (1st Corinthians 15:1-4). This is the Gospel of free grace! Salvation is not a reward for the righteous, it is a gift for the guilty! Salvation is not doing your best, it is having Christ's best put to your account through receiving Him by faith. Charlie Kirk Was No Friend To Lost Sinners

2nd Corinthians 4:3-4, “But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.”

Before I say anything, let me say that I humbly think Charlie Kirk (1993-2025) is an American hero! God bless Charlie's wife and two children. My heart goes out to them all.

That being said, as a born-again Christian myself since age 13, and a fundamentalist Baptist preacher all my adult life, I am gravely concerned about the negative influence Charlie is having on the world for Christ. You read right, negative influence. The tragic and senseless murder of Charlie Kirk on September 10, 2025, has compelled thousands of young people to attend church. Although that may superficially seem like a good thing, it is a bad thing when you consider that 99% of churches today are preaching a counterfeit plan of salvation of partial faith in Christ plus works (aka, Lordship Salvation).

The Danger Of Using Unbiblical Terminology

Part of me wants to believe that Charlie Kirk was just careless with his words. In his tract, “What Must I Do To Be Saved?,” Evangelist John R. Rice (1895-1980) says that repentance to be saved means to “turn away from sins, earnestly, with all your heart, and trust Jesus to save you” which careless words I hate. Kindly said, Dr. Rice spoke foolishly in ignorance. But elsewhere Dr. Rice wrote in his helpful commentary on the book of Acts, “One who turns from sin to God has done so by trusting in Jesus Christ.” So, clearly Dr. Rice did NOT think you must be willing to forsake your sinful bad habits to get to Heaven, which would be reformation, not repentance. Brother Rice was indeed saved, but he poorly chose his words in this case. 

You cannot shew me one place in an inspired King James Bible where it says to repent “of your sins” to be saved. Acts 20:21 says to repent (think differently) “toward God.” 2nd Timothy 2:25 says to repent (change your mind) to acknowledge “the truth.” Those who errantly teach that Bible repentance is a change of mind that results in a change of behavior are preaching another gospel (2nd Corinthians 11:3-4), which cannot produce the new birth (John 3:1-7).

I believe Dr. Rice was saved because he explained what he meant by turning from sin, which he clearly did NOT think means to forsake sinful bad habits to get to Heaven. That would constitute “works” according to Jonah 3:10. Likewise, I am not sure what Charlie Kirk believed about salvation. Did he believe like John R. Rice did? Or did Charlie literally think you cannot be saved unless you forsake your sinful behavior and serve God? There is a fine line between faith and works. Adding even the slightest work to faith negates grace according to Romans 11:6, “And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.” From nearly every pulpit today we are hearing a false gospel that says salvation is by grace alone, but you must do something to obtain it from God. That is impossible!

The Bible in the hands of an idiot is the most dangerous weapon mankind has ever faced. I heard in the news yesterday that young people by the droves are now attending church in response to Charlie's assassination and his influence for Christ. What greatly concerns me about Charlie Kirk is that he is a poster boy for Lordship Salvation. By saying that he “gave my life to Christ in fifth grade” says nothing. That is not how someone gets saved. By saying that he “accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior” is misleading at best, implying that more than faith is required to get to Heaven. Faith is the only righteous thing that I can do.

I am still the fence about where Charlie went in the afterlife, simply because I don't know what he really believed. I am careful not to be dogmatic without knowing more information. The $64,000 question is: Did Charlie believe more than faith is necessary to be saved? 

Regardless, Charlie Kirk spoke with confusing words, using unbiblical jargon that obscures the true Gospel of free grace. The Mormons and Catholics love Charlie, because he refused to tell them the truth that they are unsaved members of dangerous religious cults. I cannot help but conclude that for the sake of further building and protecting his Turning Point organization, Charlie surreptitiously avoided offending different religious groups. That is not wisdom dear reader, it is foolish from Heaven's point of view. This world is literally dying in sin and going to Hell. There has never been a greater need than right now to preach THE TRUTH!

As a side note, I am glad that ABC fired Jimmy Kimmel. I feel sick that tens of thousands of kooky liberal leftists are defending Jimmy, saying that he has a right to free speech. But there is also something called “decency” in society. For anyone to joke, make light of and even cheer the assassination of one of the best men our country ever produced is inexcusable. I hope they fire the other Charlie Kirk haters too. I like what one man said, “Speech is free, but the consequences aren't.” Private companies and institutions do not have to honor free speech laws (within legal limits). They can fire people who say and/or do outrageous things that may damage their company's reputation.

Please avoid using confusing unbiblical terminology when presenting the Gospel; namely:

1. Repent of your sins
2. Give your life to Christ
3. Become a Christ follower
4. Live a changed life
5. Accept Jesus as your “Lord”
6. Perform sacraments
7. Get water baptized
8. Be willing to turn from your sinful bad habits
9. Surrender your life to Jesus
10. Live for others
11. Live a lifestyle of repentance
12. Invite Jesus into your life
13. Join a church
14. Confess your sins to a priest
15. Repeat a 'Sinner's Prayer'
16. Exchange all that you are for all Christ is
17. Invite Jesus into your heart
18. Ask God to make you part of His family
19. Forsake a lifestyle of sinning
20. Faithfully serve Christ

The truth dear reader is that you may do all of these aforementioned things (works), and yet never be born again and still go to Hell forever.

Charlie Kirk Obscured The Gospel

Anyway, I am sad about Charlie Kirk. It is bizarre that a homosexual punk who was raised Mormon, assassinated Charlie while answering a question from a Mormon student. Then again, it is Utah, which is Mormon country. Tyler didn't kill Charlie over politics, he murdered him because he stood for decency and morality, and because Charlie was right!

The reason why I say that Charlie Kirk was no friend to lost sinners is simply because he refused to tell Roman Catholics and Mormons the truth about their false religions. By coddling and hobnobbing with hellbound religious cults, we can only do more damage than good. When Ravi Zacharias (a false prophet) preached to the Mormons in 2014 in Salt Lake City, Utah, they gave him a standing ovation at the end of his watered-down pathetic sermonette. The reason why the Hellbound Mormon cult honored Ravi is because he surreptitiously avoided steeping on their toes, and he wickedly called them his “Brothers and Sisters in Christ.” In my humble opinion, Charlie Kirk is just as guilty as Ravi Zacharias, coddling the cults. A demon's favorite activity is to make lost people comfortable in their false religion.

Please understand that I didn't write this blog to cast a negative reflection upon Charlie; but rather, to draw attention to the reality that “if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.” I humbly believe that every redeemed child of God has an obligation to warn lost sinners. In Luke 8:15, the mature believer is the one who bears much fruit. God wants all of His dear children to share the Gospel with lost sinners, so that others may be saved through faith alone in Jesus Christ (John 20:31).

As much as I love Charlie Kirk and am thankful for his stand for decency, Christianity and the nuclear family, I am saddened today that millions of hellbound Roman Catholics and Mormons don't know anything more about going to Heaven, than that Charlie accepted Jesus as his “Lord and Savior” and “gave his life to Christ in the fifth grade.” Ladies and gentlemen, every pseudo-Christian cult on the planet agrees with those two statements. Neither of those statements constitute, 'THE GOSPEL' (an excellent tract written by Pastor Harry Ironside, 1876-1951). If we as born-again saints don't warn lost sinners of God's coming judgment upon the wicked in the everlasting Lake of Fire (Revelation 20:11-15; 21:8), no one else will do the job folks!

Charlie Kirk has often said publicly he gave his life to Christ in fifth grade, but we do NOT give our life to the Lord to be saved. Jesus gave His life on the cross for us to be saved. 1st John 3:16, “Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.” Christ died on a cross to pay our debt of sin. He doesn't require that we exchange or trade our lives to be saved. Eternal life is a free gift (Romans 5:15-18, 6:23). Remember that Judas Iscariot also gave his life to Christ.

I understand that a lot of people talk about giving your life to the Lord when talking about salvation. But actually, that’s not biblical. Jesus gladly gave His life for us, so that we could be saved. Amen. We ought to give our lives to the Lord AFTER we are saved BECAUSE we are saved, but NOT to be saved. And we need to stop using unbiblical terminology when talking about salvation, so that we don’t confuse anyone about how to be saved. Amen. God loves people and I do too. My goal is just to be a blessing to others for Christ.

No one is a true friend to lost sinners who changes, obscures or embellishes God's simple plan of salvation.

Now Is A Good Time To Clarify The Gospel

We read in 1st Corinthians 11:19, “For there must be also heresies among you, that they which are approved may be made manifest among you.” I love that Scripture truth! The Apostle Paul is saying that false prophets and false teachings are necessary, so that Christian men who are learned in the Scriptures can ne identified; so that those learned men can refute false teachings. Put another way, false prophets provide a blank white canvas upon which the truth can be painted. Christians should wisely use Charlie Kirk's death as a time to share the free grace Gospel, and warn others about the dangers of Satan's Lordship Salvation heresy.

Dear friend, I dare say that 99% of churchgoers today have never been born-again. John 3:3, “Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” There are no exceptions! I've heard Pastor John Hagee falsely teach that Jews do not need to be born-again because they have their own special covenant with God, but he is oh so wrong. Jesus warned that everyone MUST be born-again to enter into God's Kingdom. In John chapter 3, Jesus was talking with Nicodemus, a religious leader of the Jews, and a Jew himself. In fact, Jews do NOT have a special covenant with God which excludes them from being born-again.

The dear Savior also confirmed that only a few people are saved. Luke 13:23-24, “Then said one unto him, Lord, are there few that be saved? And he said unto them, Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.” Ironically, the vast majority of the world's population is religious. But religion never saved anybody. My father used to wisely say, religion is the worst thing that ever happened to this world. My Dad was right. Manmade religion blinds men from the truth of the Gospel. This is what is meant in 2nd Timothy 3:5, “Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.” That “power” according to Romans 1:16 is THE GOSPEL.

One of the most effective truths that I use when witnessing to lost people is to explain to them that Bible Christianity and manmade religion are two very different things. Salvation cannot be found in any religion; but rather, by faith in the death, burial and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. Biblical truth and religious dogma are often at odds. Such is the case with Lordship Salvation, which is religion and not Bible truth. Mark 7:9, “And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.”

Kindly said, Charlie Kirk's religious terminology was not in agreement with biblical teaching. God's simple plan of salvation is that we are saved by faith alone without works. That means you don't have to receive Jesus as “Lord” of your life to follow, serve and obey Him in other matters. Serving Christ is discipleship, not sonship. It is sanctification, not justification.

Here is my favorite preacher's quote, which plainly shows that Pilgrim's Progress author John Bunyan fully understood the danger of not putting a clear difference between service and salvation...

“If you do not put a difference between justification wrought by the man Christ without and sanctification wrought by the Spirit of Christ within, you are not able to divide the Word aright; but contrariwise, you corrupt the Word of God, and cast stumbling blocks before the people.” —John Bunyan (1628-1688)

Well said Brother Bunyan! That was Charlie Kirk's dire error, he failed to differentiate between discipleship and sonship, which ecumenical amorphous testimony caused the pseudo-Christian cults to follow, praise and support him. If Charlie was saved, his Gospel was hid from lost sinners (2nd Corinthians 4:3-4). Hundreds of millions of churchgoers worldwide have given their lives to Jesus Christ, and they follow Him as their “Lord” (saying “Lord, Lord”) and doing “many wonderful works” in Jesus' name (Matthew 7:21-23); but they have never been born-again by resting completely in the finished redemptive work of Christ through Calvary's cross.

John Bunyan is absolutely right, by failing to put a difference between service and salvation, it corrupts the truth of God's Word and casts stumblingblocks before the people to hinder them from being saved. As much as I love Charlie Kirk and still think of him as an American hero, the fact remains that he failed to put a difference between discipleship and salvation. Consequently, the truth of a free grace Gospel was hidden from the lost.

The Incompatibility Of Lordship Salvation With The Gospel Of Free Grace

Charlie admitted moments before his assassination that half of his Turning Point staff are Mormons. In sharp contrast, for telling the truth the apostles in the Bible were persecuted, arrested, imprisoned, beaten, threatened and ultimately martyred.

Dear reader, the inspired Word of God defines “THE GOSPEL” clearly in 1st Corinthians 15:1-6 as Jesus DEATH on the cross for our sins, His BURIAL, and His physical RESURRECTION from the dead three days later. This is “the gospel,” the POWER OF GOD by which all who BELIEVE IT are instantly, irrevocably and forever saved (Romans 1:16). Giving your life to Christ is NOT a part of the Gospel. Taking Jesus as the “Lord” of your life is NOT part of the Gospel. Repenting of your sins is NOT a part of God's simple plan of salvation.

I encourage you dear friend to make sure you know the clear Gospel, so that you'll know you're saved, and can show others how to be saved also. Salvation is not a reward for the righteous, it is a gift for the guilty. Salvation is not doing your best, it is having Christ's best put to your account through receiving Him by faith. The true Gospel always points you to CHRIST; a false gospel always points to YOU. We must stay true to the simplicity of the Gospel. Repentance regarding salvation is a change of mind from unbelief to belief. We must earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints (Jude 1:3).
