Luke 13:1-5, “There were present at that season some that told him of the Galilaeans, whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices. And Jesus answering said unto them, Suppose ye that these Galilaeans were sinners above all the Galilaeans, because they suffered such things? I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slew them, think ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem? I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.”
25,000 Dead Bodies Have Been Recovered As Of February 11, 2023
I have felt helpless all week, wishing that I could be a part of the rescue teams. I heard on the news today that 120,000 rescuers are working night and day in efforts to find more survivors. I cried this week as I saw a little 10-day-old baby pulled from the debris, and a 16-year-old girl rescued, then a 4-year-old girl who was buried under rubble for 129 hours in subzero temperatures, and also a 17-year-old teenage boy. It is truly heartbreaking. I have been praying to God that rescuers will find more survivors. My heart is with those dear victims. The news said that this is the seventh worst natural disaster to afflict the world over the past century.
Having said that, this monumental disaster reminded me today of Jesus' words in Luke 13:3, “I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.” Some local townspeople had come to Jesus with the latest negative news. One person said that the Wall of Siloam had fallen and killed 18 people. Another reported that wicked Herod had sacrificed some humans on the altar where animals were sacrificed. Jesus reminded them that if they don't get saved before it is too late, they may end up in the same predicament, dying suddenly while not being prepared for eternity.
Unfortunately, many ignorant and unlearned preachers like Ray Comfort and Kirk Cameron horribly misunderstand and misinterpret this passage from Luke 13:1-5. They falsely teach that to get to Heaven you must turn away from your sinful bad habits. That is WORKS, not God's GRACE! Many pastors have no earthly or heavenly business being pastors today, because they are woefully ignorant; and even worse, they are too full of sinful pride, hubris and arrogance to listen to rebuke, correction and wisdom from learned believers like me. I am far from being perfect, but I DO understand the Word of God, rightly dividing the Word of Truth. 2nd Timothy 2:15, “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” By God's grace I had great Bible teachers like Dr. Jack Hyles, Pastor Curtis Hutson and Pastor Harry Ironside. You would also be wise to read the books of these men, and listen to their Bible preaching.
Never Use An Obscure Passage To Contradict A Clear One
There are a few basic rules of Bible interpretation to follow, which if observed will keep you from going astray. The first I learned from Pastor Curtis Hutson (1934-1995), who said: “A good rule to follow when interpreting the Bible is to never use an obscure passage to contradict a clear one.” In literally hundreds of places in the inspired Word of God, we are taught that salvation is by faith alone in Jesus Christ. Yet the proponents of Lordship Salvation always run to a small handful of Scripture passages that mention the word repent, taking all of them horribly out of context.
For example: cartoon evangelist Jack Chick (1924-2016) quotes Luke 13:5 on his website's statement of faith, in a failed attempt to justify his heresy that you must “be willing to turn from sin” (which he errantly considered to mean “repent”) to be saved. Kindly said, Jack Chick took the text in Luke 13:5 out of context to create his own pretext, to support his heresy. Dr. Curtis Hutson explains Luke 13:5 and gets it 100% correct:

In Luke 13:5 Jesus said, “I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.” The context of this verse shows that they needed to repent or change their mind regarding punishment and sin. In this passage, Christ was talking to good people who believed that people suffered only because of their sins, and they concluded that those in Galilee whose blood Pilate mingled with sacrifices and those on whom the tower of Siloam fell were greater sinners because they died such horrible deaths. Jesus contradicts the thinking of these self-righteous people and tells them that they need to repent or change their mind and see themselves as sinners, too, or they will perish in their own self-righteousness.
One does not have to know the Greek language to see that “repent” in this passage does not mean feeling sorry for or turning from sin.

So we see that it is very easy to take a passage of Scripture out of context.
What has sadly happened to the people in Turkey and Syria WILL someday happen to the United States. Revelation chapter 18 practically provides the geographical location of the United States on the globe. The inspired Holy Bible foretells that this ungodly nation, which is described in Revelation 18, will be utterly destroyed in just ONE HOUR by fire. In my humble opinion that can only mean a nuclear Holocaust.
I believe that future destroyed nation is the United States. Lately, I've been following world news concerning China and Russia, and the U.S. is provoking these super power countries. In 2022, President Vladimir Putin threatened to use nuclear weapons against Ukraine. The U.S. is playing with fire! As technology advances, whatever Patriot Antimissile Defenses that we have will become more obsolete to a nuclear attack. Only a handful of ICBM's (Inter Continental Ballistic Missiles) need to get through to destroy the United States. Each ICBM carries dozens of thermonuclear warheads, each capable of annihilating a major city. ...
Each ICBM has the potential to carry multiple nuclear warheads. As of February 2022 the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists estimated that Russia has a stockpile of nearly 4,500 nuclear warheads, of which around 1,400 are deployed on ICBMs.According to the Federation of American Scientists, both Russia and the U.S. each have "around 4,000" stockpiled nuclear warheads—around 90 percent of the world's total.
Tragically, today's carnally-minded stupid churches are relying upon the apostate Bible colleges to produce their next pastor. Bob Jones University is a shameful cesspool of the Devil's Bibles revisions, the Devil's misunderstanding of repentance, and the Devil's lie of Lordship Salvation (which is nothing less than Calvinism repackaged). Pastor John MacArthur is a devil in the pulpit, who is regarded as the godfather of Lordship Salvation. Dr. MacArthur sinfully boasts that he is a 5-point Calvinist! Calvinism is a lie of the Devil. Calvinism is another gospel, which is based in WORKS, not the free grace of God which is by faith alone. Faith is the only righteous thing that I can do. God's curse is upon John MacArthur, and Bob Jones University (BJU) for wickedly bidding him Godspeed. MacArthur is an alumni of BJU.
Sadly, the wicked incompetent pastors of Campus Church at Pensacola Christian College (PCC) bid Godspeed to BJU, which according to 2nd John 1:11 makes PCC partaker of BJU's evil deeds. They are accomplices in spiritual crime. Birds of a feather flock together. There is no honor among religious thieves!!! PCC has much blood on their hands, for pulling on the same rope as the Devil, assisting the Satanic cult at Bob Jones University who damn men's souls to the Lake of Fire. PCC must be exposed!!! Tragically, tens of thousands of fools are supportive of PCC's cult. RIGHT DOCTRINE MATTERS!
Jesus Himself asked the rhetorical question in Luke 18:8, “I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?” The blatantly implied answer is a resounding, “No!” Jesus will NOT find faith upon the earth when He returns. As I type this blog, there are literally several hundred different English versions of the Bible in existence, which all say something different. Things that are different are NOT the same! Satan is a beautiful LIAR!!!
Dear reader, today could be the last day of your life! Are you ready to meet your Maker? Have you been born-again? If not, now is the time to get saved, before it is to late. There but for the grace of God, we could be among the 25,000 dead people in Turkey and Syria (I'm sure that the death toll will tragically rise much higher before this is all said and done). I am not saying in any way that what happened to the people in Turkey and Syria is God's judgment. I am simply saying that death is a reality that we must all face.
We live in a fallen world because of Adam's sin. Romans 5:12, “Wherefore, as by one man [Adam] sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:” Romans 6:23, “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Those 18 victims upon which the Wall of Siloam fell where not greater sinners than you or me, and Jesus made that point clear. We are ALL guilty sinners, so that we ALL must perish one day. That is, we must ALL die eventually. We can eat healthy, avoid risky behavior and exercise to extend our life, but we will ALL still die because we are sinners.
My heart goes out to the suffering people in Turkey and Syria. As many as 500,000 people are now homeless and surviving in subzero temperatures among the rubble. The local and foreign help being sent cannot arrive fast enough to meet the desperate needs of the victims. Kindly, I wrote this blog to focus on the imminent reality of death, knowing that we are all living on borrowed time from God. Proverbs 27:1, “Boast not thyself of to morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth.”
Dear beloved reader, in the following presentation my friend in the ministry, Pastor Ralph Yankee Arnold, kindly explains from the Holy Bible how YOU CAN KNOW beyond any shadow of a doubt, that your name is written in Heaven and your sins have been forever forgiven, and you have ETERNAL LIFE...
