At Calvary

Luke 23:33, “And when they were come to the place, which is called Calvary, there they crucified him, and the malefactors, one on the right hand, and the other on the left.”

Years I spent in vanity and pride,

Caring not my Lord was crucified, 

Knowing not it was for me He died 

On Calvary. 

Mercy there was great, and grace was free; 

Pardon there was multiplied to me; 

There my burdened soul found liberty 

At Calvary.

Dear friend, if you use the Devil's modern Bible revisions, then “Calvary” may be an unfamiliar term to you, because they have completely removed this precious word from the text!!!

NEW INTERNATIONAL VERSION (NIV) — Luke 23:33, “When they came to the place called the Skull, they crucified him there, along with the criminals—one on his right, the other on his left.”

The skull?

Really folks? Really?

Here is another good reason to trash your modern trashy Bible revision. They are trash! Please, if you have a modern Bible version, toss it right into your garbage pail. Spit on it! Rip some pages out of it! Urinate on it if you want! But please don't leave it lying around your home for your loved ones to find, anymore than you would leave arsenic or cyanide rat poison lying around your home. I keep a few false Bibles on hand for reference, and I literally took a thick black permanent marker and wrote in bold letters front and back on the covers: POSION!!! You say, “You desecrated a Bible?” No, I safeguarded a poisonous text! I do that just in case I suddenly die and someone inherits my book collection. I don't want anyone else to get poisoned who may be unlearned.
