1st John 4:4-6, “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them. We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.”
Oh dear friend, what we have as born-again believers is truly bigger than life! If you are a redeemed child of God, do you realize that you have Jesus Christ living inside you? Romans 8:9, “But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.” Greater is Jesus Who lives in us as believers, than Satan who lives in the world. The Devil is our sworn adversary! 1st Peter 5:8, “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:” Faith is what overcomes the lost and dying miserable world. As Christians we walk by faith, not by sight (2nd Corinthians 5:7).
Being a born-again child of God is the ultimate pearl of great price! Matthew 13:43-46, “Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear. Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field. Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls: Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it.” In this passage of Scripture we have two comparisons with Heaven—one of a man who finds a treasure in a field, and the other of a man who finds a giant pearl worth very much. These two men had found something really valuable! But dear friend, having eternal life is bigger than anything this life has to offer.
