We Have Sinned

Psalm 106:6, “We have sinned with our fathers, we have committed iniquity, we have done wickedly.”

Pastor Jack Hyles beautifully said: “First Baptist Church of Hammond will become a great church when we stop saying, 'He has sinned' and 'She has sinned' and we start saying 'We have sinned'.” WE HAVE SINNED DEAR FRIEND!!! Always remember—there but for the grace of God, go I! I love what Brother Hyles taught—WE HAVE SINNED!!!

One of the most helpful sermons I've ever heard was from Pastor Jack Hyles, titled: “The Good Man Versus The Spiritual Man.” It is a beautiful truth! If we could learn to view ourselves as sinful as the next guy, we'd have a whole different attitude toward those who sin! I hope you'll take time to listen to this sermon, for it truly is precious!!! I thank God for Dr. Hyles. He grew up in The Great Depression, knowing what it means to survive in total poverty with no food at all. If it weren't for the local church bringing baskets of food to their door, and the wild mustard greens Coystal Hyles (his mother) picked along the train tracks in East Texas, they would have starved to death!

Here are some of my favorite helpful MP3 sermons by Pastor Hyles, which will change your life if you'll take them to heart (This is GOOD STUFF!)...

I am confident dear reader, that if you'll listen to these sermons with a humble heart, that they will change your life for Christ, as they have mine.

Only The Christian Army Kills Its Wounded

We live in a throw-away society in America. Pastor Jack Hyles (1926-2001) used to say that the Christian army is the only army in the world that kills its wounded. Dr. Hyles uses the following illustration to drive home this point...
“The same attention is given to the guilty, that's given to the innocent. I wish Christians were that way. A gun battle takes place—a criminal and a police officer—that criminal is shot in the gun battle, and so is the police officer. They both are critically wounded. The paramedics come. They give the same attention to that criminal, that they give to that police officer. Why? It's not their job to help the innocent wounded, it's their job to help the wounded. Sometimes they'll put a man in the hospital room, have an armed guard at his door, and have doctors on the inside trying to save his life. Do you know why, because the medical profession is not the judicial profession. You'll never hear a better statement than that! I wish Christians were like that... THE MEDICAL PROFESSION IS NOT THE JUDICIAL PROFESSION! The medical profession is given to the healing of bodies, —all bodies—self-inflicted wounds, as well as others-inflicted wounds! I wish Christians were like that.” —Pastor Jack Hyles, a quote from the awesome sermon titled, “The Hurting Sinner Hurts Just As Much As The Hurting Saint.”
WE ARE ALL SINNERS!!!
“If you want a church like this, we invite you to join our church, but I want to warn you—We can't stand close inspection, just like you can't—but if you as a sinner will come and join the rest of us sinners, we'll all try to be better people together!” —Dr. Jack Hyles, a quote from the great sermon, “I Find No Fault In This Man!
