Evangelist Ray Comfort Requires “Living a Lifestyle” To Be Saved

Philippians 3:9, “And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith.”

 Tragically, we've got a bunch of false prophets across America, who preach what the Holy Bible calls, “ANOTHER GOSPEL.” Galatians 1:6-9, “I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.” There is only one clear and concise Gospel.

One of the most deadly false prophets today is Evangelist Ray Comfort, who actually uses the phrase “LIVING A LIFESTYLE” while witnessing to a woman.

Kindly, Ray says that “repentance” means “LIVING A LIFESTYLE THAT PROVES THE REALITY OF YOUR REPENTANCE!” And then he adds, “IT'S A CONTINUAL THING!” Read for yourself what Mr. Comfort horribly teaches this woman, in this transcript from the Living Waters video...

“So if the plane goes down, you'd end up in Hell! There are two things you have to do to be saved. Do you remember what they are? I told you what they are—You've got to repent and trust the Savior! ... God's offering you everlasting life upon your repentance and faith in Christ. Who in his right mind wouldn't say, 'Whoa! That's a good offer!' (The curious woman asks what it means to “repent”?)... Have you ever said you're sorry to someone you did something wrong to? That's all repentance is—You've sinned against God; it's a matter of saying, 'God, I'm sorry,' and then LIVING A LIFESTYLE that proves the reality of your repentance. That's what repentance is, it's a continual thing! God, 'I'm sorry, but I'm not going going to lie or steal or blaspheme Your name ever again. It has that attitude! And the second thing—trust in Jesus!” [emphasis added]

Dear reader, I triple-dog dare you to show me even one verse from the Holy Bible that teaches that “LIVING A LIFESTYLE” is required as part of being saved. You cannot! Now my friend, “a double-dog dare” is serious business, but a triple-dog dare is something you don't want to mess around with! I triple-dog dare you to show me even one Bible verse that agrees with these false statements by Ray Comfort.

The Gospel of John is God's Gospel track. John 20:31, “But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.” PLEASE DON'T MISS THAT! God authored the Gospel of John specifically so “that believing ye might have life through his name.” That means we don't need any other Scripture than what is found in the Gospel of John to be saved. Where in the Gospel of John are we taught that, “LIVING A LIFESTYLE,” is necessary to receive eternal life? You cannot! Mr. Comfort is a bold-faced theological liar! Ray is ADDING to the Gospel, perverting it! This means Mr. Comfort is accursed by God. Galatians 1:9, “As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.” I didn't say that, almighty God did!

Furthermore, where in the Gospel of John are we taught that to be saved, we must have a drastic change of attitude that is resolved to reform? Ray errantly says to be saved we must have the new attitude, “GOD, I'M SORRY, BUT I'M NOT GOING TO LIE OR STEAL OR BLASPHEME YOUR NAME EVER AGAIN!” And then he horribly says, “IT'S A CONTINUAL THING!” None of this is Biblical! There is absolutely nothing in the Gospel of John about having a sincere desire to reform our ways, clean up our life of sin, turn over a new leaf, do better, forsake the world, turn away from sins, nor any other garbage that false prophets are teaching nowadays in churches, poisoning people with their lies!

True Bible Repentance is a Change of Mind Unto the Gospel Itself

So what is the truth? Is repentance necessary for salvation? Actually, yes, it is! But Bible repentance is simply “a change of mind” unto the Gospel itself, and not a desire to reform one's sinful ways. There is not one verse in the entire King James Bible (the only accurate English translation) which teaches to “repent of sin” or “repent from sin” to be saved; but rather, we read in Acts 20:21b about “repentance toward God.” Repentance is the admission that I am a guilty sinner in the sight of a holy God.

Romans 3;19, “Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.” God's LAW shows man his sinnership, and then brings us to Christ to be saved by GRACE (Galatians 3:24-26). That is what the Word of God is: LAW and GRACE (i.e., Old and New Testaments).

In the Gospel of John, the words “believe” and “believed” are mentioned 85 times, but the word “repent” is not mentioned, not even once! That is because repentance is an automatic thing, without which no man would ever believe on the Lord Jesus Christ to be saved. So we don't even need to mention the word “repent” when we witness to people, and I recommend that you don't, lest you confuse them. God agrees with me (because I agree with Him). That is why God didn't mentioned “repentance” in the Gospel of John, which is His Gospel tract! The person who believes has repented, and the person who repents has believed!

In sharp contrast to the free grace Gospel, what Ray Comfort is requiring is manmade reformation! That is “works” for salvation, which is a false Gospel of damnation. Ray requires people to denounce their sinful ways and commit themselves to walking a higher plane in life, renewing their ways, pursuing a better life! None of that is the free gift of God, which is forgiveness of sins and eternal life. Jesus doesn't forgive sin. That is correct! Jesus has already paid for everyone's sins with His precious blood. That is why forgiveness of sins is a free gift, since Christ has already paid for it. So to be saved, you simply need to freely receive God's gift. What Ray Comfort is teaching is a strange doctrine of works, human effort, which simply cannot produce the new birth. Satan's greatest weapon is to con people into living the Christian life without ever being born-again. That is exactly what Ray Comfort is doing!

Ray says to get saved you have to do “TWO THINGS”! In God's authentic plan of salvation, there is only ONE THING that you need to do, which is to BELIEVE THE GOSPEL! That is all we are told to do in the precious Gospel of John, nothing more. The Gospel is the GOOD NEWS of Jesus, the only begotten Son of God, the promised Messiah, Who gave His life on the cross to pay for our sins. Christ DIED for our sins, He was BURIED, and then He RESURRECTED on the third day from the dead for our justification. Those three elements comprise the Gospel. ...

1st Corinthians 15:1-4, “Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures..”

I am so glad and grateful that God made the GOSPEL very plain to see! Foolish men, like Ray Comfort and John MacArthur, have been blinded by Satan to add manmade religion to the Gospel and pervert the grace of God. If you doubt what I am telling you, I challenge you to research the Mormon definition of repentance. See the Seventh-day Adventist definition of repentance. See the Jehovah's Witnesses definition of repentance. They all agree with John MacArthur, Paul Washer and Ray Comfort's perverted doctrine on what it means to repent! I am not making this stuff up! Look at the evidence I have provided for you. I have already done the research! Ray Comfort agrees with the cults! The Word of God disagrees with all of them! The Scriptures teach us that repentance is simply unto the Gospel itself. Thus, we repent TO believe. This is very different than Ray Comfort's false Gospel which teaches that we repent AND believe.

Another false prophet is Evangelist Tom Ferrell, which says we repent AND believe to be saved. Dr. Ferrell is wrong! The King James Bible teaches that we repent TO believe!!! That is, they are one in the same act. They are two separate things theologically, but they happen simultaneously. Ray Comfort makes them two separate acts. So a popular heresy, which respectfully, Pastor Charles Lawson and other false prophets preach, is that many people who believe the Gospel are not really saved, because they are still living in sin; and therefore, have never truly repented. This false Gospel conditions salvation upon a changed life, works, human effort, manmade reformation!!! This is not the Gospel and does not produce the new birth by the Holy Spirit!!! Pastor Max D. Younce wisely says, “Anything mixed with grace crosses grace out!” Yes, that is absolutely right!

In Ray Comfort's counterfeit Gospel, there is an entirely different mindset given to the person being witnessed to, where they are pressured to stop willfully sinning in order to be saved, as you will see in this next subsection, in which I analyze a video of one of Ray Comfort's loyal followers witnessing to someone.

Ray Comfort's Damning Influence On Other Preachers

The following false plan of salvation is being taught on the internet by a former Navy SEAL named, Chad Williams. On Chad's YouTube channel, the only other related channel that he promotes is Ray Comfort's Living Waters...

“I can give you the tools, but you need to apply them. So the tools is this—this is what you need to do! Remember, you need to 'repent.' So what that is, is to, TURN FROM YOUR SIN! All the things that you do in your life, that you know you shouldn't do, the things you have done that you know you shouldn't have, the places your feet have taken you that you know they ought not to go, the things your hands touched that aren't yours to touch—You take those things, that your conscience tells you was wrong, it's a God-given conscience, and you disassociate with it—You say you want nothing else to do with it anymore—It's those things that put Jesus on the cross, it's those things that Jesus died for! So you recognize that, and you say, 'You know what, I don't want to associate with that anymore!' That's what repentance is, it's all at once. And then you put your faith and trust in Jesus Christ! What you just read is a false Gospel, straight from the pits of Hell! Kindly, Chad Williams is not a born-again Christian! Chad's works-based religious mindset, like Ray Comfort's, is not the free-grace Gospel mindset! The intent of my article is not to cast a negative reflection on Ray or Chad as far as character, but to expose their false teachings on salvation. I actually admire Ray Comfort's zeal for evangelism. (Check out Ray Comfort's dog, these two do look alike...lol!) My exposure of Ray Comfort as a false prophet is not a personal attack against him. I love everybody, including Ray. I am being true to the Scriptures. Romans 3:4, “God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged.”

As far as performance, Ray is a great street preacher! Unfortunately, he never gets anybody saved! Of all the videos I have seen of Mr. Comfort shoving the Ten Commandments down people's throats, no one has ever come to Jesus Christ, because he adds a commitment to turn away from their sinful ways as a requirement to be saved, which is impossible to do! We all sin, and we all have sins that we struggle with; so to witness to an unsaved person and place such a heavy burden upon them, to turn away from their lifelong sinful bad habits, strongly pushes them away from the truth of the free and easy Gospel of grace!!!

God's Imputed Righteousness

My favorite theological doctrine in the Holy Bible is IMPUTATION. Once you understand the concept of imputation, you will see salvation clearly. I love this picture below, which is truly worth 1,000 words.

Romans 4:5-6, "But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works."

In the preceding Bible verses, the word “counted” in verse 5 comes from the same exact Greek word as “imputed” in verse 6, so they are interchangeable. God counted our sins to Jesus on the cross, and by our faith he counts Jesus' righteousness to us! I love that truth! So when I sin, being a child of God for 39 years since I was 12 years old, my heavenly Father only sees the righteousness of His dear only begotten Son! 2nd Corinthians 5:21, "For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him."

If we try to please God by doing good works, such as turning away from our sins to be saved, then that is the righteousness of the law. That is, we are trying to keep God's law to merit Heaven. That is self-righteousness, which God rejects. This is what false prophets like Ray Comfort, Paul Washer, John MacArthur, John Piper, Joel Osteen, Rick Warren, Jack Chick and others are teaching.

Kindly, Ray Comfort is pulling on the same rope as the Devil. Ray is a false prophet! That is why I expose him relentlessly on the internet, warning everyone so that they won't follow him into the Lake of Fire. Ray plainly says that to be saved, we must “live a lifestyle” to prove our repentance, otherwise he says we cannot go to Heaven. Not surprisingly, in Ray's popular commentary called, “The Evidence Bible,” he completely ignores the Bible doctrine of imputation.

The reason why is because he bases his commentary on the perverse “Amplified Version” (AMP) of the Bible, which entirely removes the word “impute.” That is another reason, among thousands, why I only use and promote the trustworthy King James Bible. As I just showed you in Romans 4:5-6, the word “impute” is found in the Holy Bible. Ray uses an unholy counterfeit Bible version, which leaves off imputation. Clearly, Ray Comfort doesn't understand the beautiful concept of IMPUTATION!

The truth is that when a person gets saved, all of their sins (past, present and future) are washed away by the blood of Jesus, so even if you murder someone or commit suicide, God sees Christ's righteousness when He looks at that person. This is the doctrine of imputation. In Ray Comfort's counterfeit plan of salvation, a professed believer who continues in sin IS NOT SAVED, because he says they have not repented. This is 100% Lordship Salvation, aka, Calvinism. John Calvin (1509-1564) was a monster. He murdered dozens of families, literally, for simply refusing to accept the heresy of infant baptism! Mr. Calvin taught a false Gospel, he was a known occult member, who is this moment burning in Hell. Why do foolish ministers today, follow the satanic philosophies of a dead man, in more ways than one, who perished 454 years ago?

I wrote a helpful book all about, “SALVATION,” 18 years ago, which you can read online. The lifestyle choices that we make after we get saved, once we are in Christ, have absolutely NOTHING to do with the eternal gift of God! A believer needs to GROW after they get saved. 1st Peter 2:1-3, “Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings, As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby: If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious.” The first thing that every new convert ought to be given is their very own King James Bible.

Truthfully, Mr. Comfort is guilty of gross theological incompetence! Ray is not merely claiming that if you are saved there will be some outward manifestations (i.e., LIVING A LIFESTYLE) as proofs. I do not agree with that assertion either, which is what Pastor Phil Kidd teaches. It is heresy! Phil Kidd is teaching heresy! Outward changes cannot be used to determine salvation, because even unsaved people can manifest outward changes. For example: The unsaved false prophets, the workers of iniquity, in Matthew 7:21-23 did “many wonderful works.” So I disagree with Dr. Kidd, respectfully. However, Phil Kidd is not teaching a false Gospel, because he doesn't tamper with the Gospel at the time of salvation. I still promote Pastor Kidd, even though I don't agree with him, because he is correct on the Gospel.

In sharp contrast, Ray Comfort plainly requires that the woman on the airplane commit to making an effort, to forsake the sins in her life. Effectively, Ray is saying that God won't save a person unless they are willing to try to stop sinning!

EVANGELIST RAY COMFORT IS PREACHING A FALSE GOSPEL—A SATANIC LIE THAT GOD WILL ONLY SAVE A PERSON IF THEY ARE WILLING TO STOP SINNING, AND CONTINUE LIVING THAT TYPE OF A LIFESTYLE, PERPETUALLY TURNING AWAY FROM SINNING PERMANENTLY! THAT IS NOT BIBLE REPENTANCE—THAT IS A BURDENSOME YOKE OF MANMADE REFORMATION! THAT IS NOT THE GOSPEL OF FREE GRACE, NOT EVEN CLOSE!!!

Jack Chick teaches the same garbage as Ray Comfort, as does Pastor Keith Gomez, Evangelist William P. Grady, Dr. John MacArthur, John Piper, William Lane Craig, Billy Graham, Rick Warren, Joel Osteen, Charles Stanley, John Hagee, Beth Moore, Jimmy Swaggart, Chip Ingram and countless other heretics on the Gospel. It is not what we can do for God that saves us; but rather, what Christ did to pay for our sins on the cross! By faith God places my sins on Jesus, and then places Jesus' goodness on me. That is imputation. So if a Christian commits suicide, they are spotless in God's eyes.

One of my favorite MP3 sermons by Dr. Jack Hyles (1926-2001) is called, “How To Be Right With God.” In the sermon Brother Hyles explains the big difference between being right with God POSITIONALLY, which is salvation; verses being right with God CONDITIONALLY, which is our personal daily walk, or discipleship. This is why we read in Romans 5:20, “Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound.” That is, if we sin as a Christian, God's grace will MUCH MORE ABOUND, so that we can NEVER lose God's righteousness (i.e., we cannot lose salvation). We are saved by God's righteousness, not our own. Our righteousness is filth to God (Isaiah 64:6). I am going to Heaven ONLY because of what Christ did to pay for my sins!

Evangelist Ray Comfort is Stuck On God's Law

Romans 3:19-20, “Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God. Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.”

The truth is so simple. Why do men complicate things? I'll tell you why, pride! It is in our sinful human nature to want to take matters into our own hands. Adam attempted to deal with his sins, and Eve's sins, by sewing together some fig leaves as coverings. Albeit, God rejected Adam's fig-leaf religion, just as He rejects Ray Comfort's manmade reformation. Ray Comfort is guilty of trying to force sinners to reform their ways, as a prerequisite to saving-faith. That is evil! The purpose of God's LAW is to show humanity our sinnership. Romans 7:13b, “that sin by the commandment might become exceeding sinful.” God never intended that men try to keep the law as a part of submitting to God's righteousness to be saved. The entire reason why man must wholly submit to God's righteousness, resting in Christ's sacrifice on the cross alone as payment for our sins, is because man's best efforts are offensive to a holy God. Isaiah 64:6, “But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.”

Only God knows how many people will miss Heaven, because Satan blinded them from the truth of the saving-power of the Gospel. Romans 1:16, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.” Ray Comfort is sincere in his evangelism efforts, of that I have no doubt; but he is woefully ignorant of the Gospel, convincing people to live the Christian life in Jesus' name, instead of wholly submitting themselves to the righteous of God, which is by faith alone in Christ Jesus.

Living A Perpetual Lifestyle Of Repentance Is Not How To Be Saved

Ray Comfort's partial faith plus works Gospel is a counterfeit! It cannot produce the new birth! Jesus exclaimed in John 3:3b, “Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” And again in John 1:12-13 we read, “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.” Please notice, very plainly stated, that the promise of salvation is “TO THEM THAT BELIEVE ON HIS NAME”!

So where in the world does Ray Comfort get the erroneous idea that a person must LIVE A LIFESTYLE THAT PROVES THE REALITY OF THEIR REPENTANCE to be saved? What in the world does that have to do with BELIEVING on the Lord, as taught in the Gospel of John? If you are following anything I have taught you from the Scriptures, you should be outraged and alarmed at the garbage Ray Comfort is propagating to millions of people! Ray says that to be born-again, you have to be sorry for your sins, and resolve in your heart not to commit them anymore, and then start “LIVING A LIFESTYLE THAT PROVES THE REALITY OF THEIR REPENTANCE.”

Romans 10:3-4, “For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God. For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.” There are approximately 720 laws in the Old Testament! The Bible says that “CHRIST IS THE END OF THE LAW”? What does that mean? It simply means my dear reader, that the intent of all of God's law is to bring you to Christ to be redeemed! God never intended for anyone to obey the law to merit eternal life. The truth is that NO ONE can perfectly keep the laws of God. We are all horrible sinners. Before Moses had even come down off of Mount Sinai, with the tablets written by God on stone, the Hebrews had already broken all of the Ten Commandments. To have eternal life, a person cannot sin even once! You have to be 100% spotless in every way. Truthfully, no one except the virgin-born Son of God has ever meet that sinless qualification (Hebrews 4:15). That is why Jesus qualified as the spotless Lamb of God, to take away the sins of the world (John 1:29).

Jesus Christ is “the end” of the law. I love to let the Scriptures interpret themselves where possible. We have such a passage in Galatians 3:24-26, “Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster. For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.” Here we see a wonderful explanation of what “CHRIST IS THE END OF THE LAW” means. The LAW is the journey, God's saving GRACE through faith in Christ is the destination! Ray Comfort is still stuck on the LAW'S journey, which means he hasn't arrived at GRACE yet! We are saved only by God's GRACE, which the LAW leads us to. That is a summary of the Holy Bible: LAW and GRACE! Until Ray Comfort comes to the place in his mind and heart, where he abandons the LAW and clings solely to God's GRACE, he cannot be saved!!!

Pastor Stephen Davey's False Gospel

Jeremiah 5:31, “The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests bear rule by their means; and my people love to have it so: and what will ye do in the end thereof?”

A popular Bible teacher on the internet and religious radio today is Pastor Stephen Davey. I had heard some good things about him, so I went to check for myself, and I didn't like what I found. Davey is teaching a false Gospel. Pastor Davey is a graduate of Tennessee Temple University, whose founder Dr. Lee Roberson, did not teach anything like what Mr. Davey is teaching. Brother Roberson taught the simplicity that is in Christ, not some type of discipleship program that today's Lordship Salvation crowd has sinfully added to the Gospel of grace.

You judge for yourself whether Mr. Davey is a false prophet or not concerning the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. Honestly, I'm starting to wonder if anyone even reads the King James Bible anymore. Stephen Davey is the senior pastor at the Colonial Baptist Church of Cary, North Carolina. I clicked on “GOSPEL.” What senior Pastor Davey is teaching here on his church's website is DEFINITELY NOT THE GOSPEL...

If you do believe that you are a sinner and in danger of God’s judgment, there are three things you should do:

The first thing to do is to cry out to God for mercy and forgiveness. Admit to God that you are a sinner in need of his forgiveness. Acknowledge that you deserve his punishment but that you want his mercy instead. Tell him that you believe that Jesus died for your sins, and on the basis of what Jesus did for you, you are placing your faith in God for your salvation. You also need to ask God help to change you. You can’t go on living in rebellion. The salvation God offers includes Jesus being the king of your life instead of you, but you need his help to overcome your sin.

The second thing to do is to start living like you are a child of God. There are many areas of your life that need to change. As you read the Bible and come to understand what God wants from you, begin living it out. This will take you the rest of your life. You’ll never completely stop sinning until you are with God in heaven. But, God’s promise to forgive your sin stands, and he will continue to help you obey him.

The third thing to do will also last your whole life - continue to trust and rely on God. You will fail at times, but God will always forgive. You will need his help and encouragement, and he will give it to you. Study God’s Word, seek to know all you can about him, trust him every day, rely on his forgiveness, and grow as a child of God.

Respectfully, let's closely examine the false “Gospel” which the Colonial Baptist Church teaches, of which Dr. Stephen Davey is the senior pastor (NOTE: Everything in red below is unbiblical):

Cry out to God for mercy and forgiveness. 

1. Admit to God you are a sinner in need of His forgiveness. 
2. Acknowledge that you deserve His punishment, but you want His mercy instead.
3. Tell Him you believe Jesus died for your sins, and on that basis you are placing your faith in God for salvation. 
4. Ask God to help change you, because you cannot go on living in rebellion. 
5. The salvation God offers includes Jesus being King of your life, instead of you.

Start living like you are a child of God.

1. There are many areas of your life that need to change. 
2. As you read the Bible and understand, live it out. This will take you the rest of your life.

Continue to trust and rely upon God. 

1. Study God's Word. Seek to know all you can about Him.
2. Trust Him every day. Rely on His forgiveness, and grow as a child of God.

Ladies and gentleman, this is what comes up when you click “GOSPEL.” The webpage says these steps are what to do if you “believe you are a sinner in danger of God's judgment,” but they COMBINE discipleship with salvation, all on their “GOSPEL” page. This is deceitful. This is clearly ANOTHER GOSPEL (2nd Corinthians 11:3-4). Their whole webpage allegedly teaching the “GOSPEL,” leads up to the preceding nonsense under the subtitle, “The Response Within Your Heart.” If you do what they say, and trust that to get you into Heaven, you will burn in the Lake of Fire forever. You had better trust what Christ did to pay for your sins on the cross, His burial, and His bodily resurrection three days later, AND NOTHING ELSE!!!

The way you live after you get saved does not affect your salvation, it affects your rewards in eternity (Daniel 12:3). ETERNAL LIFE IS A GIFT. If a professed Christian is living in deliberate unrepentant sin, it could signify that they are not saved (evidencing that they don't have the Holy Spirit in them); but for that matter, they might be living the Christian life faithfully, doing everything that a good Christian churchgoer does, AND YET STILL NEVER HAVE BEEN BORN-AGAIN!!! So you see, examining someone's life outwardly doesn't tell you anything. That's why the Bible says in 2nd Corinthians 13:5 to “EXAMINE YOURSELVES, whether ye be in the faith” (emphasis added)!!! Judas was one of Christ's very apostles, yet was unsaved. Jesus knew that Judas was a thief, and had a devil in him, but none of the other apostles knew it. Think about that.

Don't get mad at me, examine the Holy Scriptures for yourself, and then compare what the Bible teaches to what the Colonial Baptist Church teaches. I am contending for the Christian faith, nothing more (Jude 1:3).

In Sharp Contrast To Stephen Davey, Here's The “THE GOSPEL” According To The Bible

Religion wants to fit us with glasses, but the Lord wants to open our eyes! Thank God for the truth of His precious Word, which is a lamp unto our feet. Psalm 119:105, “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” America's churches influence the world, so if Satan can corrupt our churches here at home, then he can corrupt the world. The United States sends out more missionaries than any other nation. Sadly, there is MUCH heresy and false teaching circulating on the radio, television and in our churches nowadays concerning what a person must do to be saved.

What exactly is the Gospel? The word “Gospel” means “Good News” or “Glad Tidings.” There is no need to guess what the “Gospel” is because the Bible plainly tells us. The “Gospel” is the Good News of Christ's DEATH on the cross for our sins, His BURIAL and bodily RESURRECTION three days later:

1st Corinthians 15:1-4, “Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.”

We are saved by BELIEVING “the Gospel,” which is the power of God unto salvation. Romans 1:16, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.” John 6:28-29, “Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God? Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.” It is that simple to be saved. If you admit that you are a needy sinner in God's sight, and you receive Christ's sacrifice on the cross as payment for your sins, believing that He was buried and bodily resurrected three days later, YOU ARE IMMEDIATELY, SECURELY AND FOREVER SAVED!!!

As a side note: One of the greatest 28-minute sermons I've ever heard was by Pastor Davey, titled: 'Joni Eareckson Tada's Story That Pain Has A Purpose.' She dived and broke her neck at age 17, which made her a lifelong quadriplegic. If you are suffering through a difficult time in your life, I encourage you to listen to this life changing sermon. That being said, I cannot support Pastor Davey's ministry in lieu of the fact that he is wrong on God's simple plan of salvation. No one could ever become born again while visiting his website, since he corrupts the Gospel and muddies it with Satan's lie of Lordship Salvation.

I Am Being Everyone's Friend To Tell You The Truth

I am not trying to be unkind. I have nothing personal against Pastor Davey, nor the Colonial Baptist Church. God knows my heart. But when information is uploaded to the internet, it becomes fair game for scrutinization by anyone, especially those faithful believers who are set for the defence of the Gospel. It does matter what we believe. Your doctrine determines your eternal destiny! It really does!!! Jesus said “YE MUST BE BORN AGAIN” or else you cannot enter into the Kingdom of God. John 3:3, “Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”

Stephen Davey would make Pastor John MacArthur, Evangelist Paul Washer, Evangelist Ray Comfort, and other Lordship Salvation heretics very proud. We must not combine discipleship with salvation in an attempt to force people to live right. Eternal life is a free gift from God (Romans 5:15; 6:23; Ephesians 2:8-10), completely independent of the manner in which a believer chooses to live. That's why God gives rewards to the faithful, to His disciples who follow Him, but other believers will suffer loss at the Judgment Seat of Christ (1st Corinthians 3:9-15; 2nd Corinthians 5:9-11). That's why the apostle Paul begged the believers in Romans 12:1 to “present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your REASONABLE SERVICE” (emphasis added). Following Jesus as a believer is reasonable, considering that He died to save us from eternal damnation, BUT IT IS NOT MANDATORY TO BE SAVED. It was their choice Paul said, not a requirement to receive the gift of eternal life.

Exodus 20:15, “Thou shalt not steal.”

Psalm 37:21, “The wicked borroweth, and payeth not again: but the righteous sheweth mercy, and giveth.”

Ephesians 4:28, “Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth.”

I love these Bible passages! The psalmist said that a wicked person borrows money but they never pay it back! There's a lot of that going on in the world today. If you borrow money from someone, shame on you if you don't pay it back. The Bible warns in 1st Thessalonians 4:6 that God will avenge a Christian who has been defrauded by another—whether it be money they didn't pay back, a promise they didn't keep, gossip that caused you grief, or if they slept with your spouse (which is the sin of adultery)—all sin must and will be punished by God.

Nobody will get away with anything (Romans 12:19-21). Even sins committed in secret will be dealt with by God. A few months ago in the news, I heard a crying woman in Ukraine, telling about a wicked Russian soldier who raped her in a car. She said that God will punish him for what he did, and she is absolutely correct. Woe unto that evil man!!! ...

Ecclesiastes 12:13-14, “Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.”

That's an easy passage to remember from the Old Testament book of Ecclesiastes—chapter 12, verses 13 and 14 (12, 13, 14).

Dear reader, you are a darn fool if you listen to such wicked advice. What saith the Scripture? 

Proverbs 1:10-16, “My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not. If they say, Come with us, let us lay wait for blood, let us lurk privily for the innocent without cause: Let us swallow them up alive as the grave; and whole, as those that go down into the pit: We shall find all precious substance, we shall fill our houses with spoil: Cast in thy lot among us; let us all have one purse: My son, walk not thou in the way with them; refrain thy foot from their path: For their feet run to evil, and make haste to shed blood.”

I hate the preceding video! Shame on anyone who tries to show you how to “legally” steal from others. It was career criminal Neil McCauley who organized a series of heists in Chicago in the 1960s, that inspired the popular 1995 crime drama film “Heat” by Michael Mann, starring Robert DeNiro and Al Pacino. Neil McCauley is infamous for making this statement during one of his bank heists:

“We want to hurt no one. We're here for the bank's money, not your money. Your money is insured by the federal government, you're not gonna lose a dime. Think of your families, don't risk your life. Don't try and be a hero.”

The truth is that Neil was stealing from the people, because ultimately everything affects society, whether it be good or evil. Neil was attempting to minimize his sins, by rationalizing that it is not as bad to steal from government FDIC insured banks. Don't ever think that when you do something evil that it doesn't undermine society, because it does in one way or another. The abortion industry has perhaps done more to cause the love of many people to grow cold (Matthew 24:12). We've lost our respect for the sacredness of life in America! If a baby is found in a dumpster, one or two people might call to inquire about the child; but if a puppy is pulled from a dumpster, thousands of calls will overload the phone system! We've lost our sanity in the United States!

I actually heard a social worker insanely say that abortion is a good thing, because it ultimately results in a lower crime rate by aborting what would have been otherwise, fatherless children. Isn't that terrible? Yes, it most certainly is awful. I learned a long time ago that anything can be justified. I mean, anything! If you try hard enough, like Eve in the Garden of Eden who found 3 good reasons to disobey God (Genesis 3:6), you can find a reason to commit the most heinous acts of evil. That is how Adolf Hitler in his own mind insanely justified geocoding the Jews during World War II.

We're A Nation In Insanity Because Of Sin

We've lost our respect for the sacredness of the marriage bed (Hebrews 13:4), the human body (1st Corinthians 3:15-16) and family values (Proverbs chapter 31). Youth today have no fear of parents, police or God. The daily news has been flooded with young punks in recent years, who in large groups called "Flash Mobs" have robbed and vandalized thousands of stores across the country. In California, local businesses have suffered tens of millions of dollars in losses from smash and grab rioting (done mostly by teens). Store owners and employees are helpless to stop the crimes because the law prohibits them from shooting the thieves. Did you know that under God's law in the Old Testament, you had permission legally to kill a thief with impunity? Exodus 22:2, “If a thief be found breaking up, and be smitten that he die, there shall no blood be shed for him.” That is what we need in the United States. If the thieves knew that store owners have a legal right to kill them, the theft would stop immediately!

If you have ever bought a movie on DVD or Blu-ray, then you have seen the threatening F.B.I. warning at the beginning, that if you copy the film you may face up to 5 years in prison and have to pay a $250,000 fine for piracy. But what penalty is there in the United States for murdering a baby in its mothers womb? That's right, there is no penalty at all. We are a sick nation when losing money means more to us than human life does!!! What a sad and ungodly testimony upon the United States of America!

There are many horrible evil people in this world, ambulance-chasing lawyer types who eagerly take advantage of others for their own financial gain. One of several things that sickens me about living in the city of Pensacola are all the cut-throat billboards posted by lawyers, encouraging drivers to sue each other. No wonder people hate lawyers so much! Lawyers hurt people for money. Kindly said, there's not a more crooked bunch of liars, thugs and thieves than lawyers! I get tired of hearing retired lawyers say that they are “recovering lawyers.” What they are shamefully admitting is that they spent their career hurting people for money. I think they would be better to just keep their mouths shut, and not admit that they are retired criminals in God's sight.

I could write volumes of books about the existing evils in our country today. Corruption is rampant in federal, state and local governments across the country. The Luciferian powers which pull our leader's puppet stings from behind the scenes (who control Washington DC) are living on borrowed time from God. PAYDAY SOMEDAY!!! Ecclesiastes 5:8, “If thou seest the oppression of the poor, and violent perverting of judgment and justice in a province, marvel not at the matter: for he that is higher than the highest regardeth; and there be higher than they.” Dear saint of God, the Lord is still on His throne!

Satan Has Limited Power, Don't Fear Him, Fear God

Satan only has so long of a leash, put on him by God. Perhaps you have never read in Job chapter one that the Devil couldn't touch Job. Job 1:9-10, “Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, Doth Job fear God for nought? Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side?  thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land.” If you are a born-again believer, then the Devil cannot do anything to you without God's express permission. Psalm 34:7, “The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.”

I once heard a Baptist preacher long ago, tell his church congregation not to talk aloud about upcoming ministry plans, because Satan might hear those plans and try to stop you. I totally reject that type of fearmongering. You need not be careful what you say, thinking that the Devil may thwart your plans, because God is in control. Biblically, we ought not fear Satan or the demons. Hollywood in their movies portray demons and Satan as being horrifying, all-powerful and frightening. But in reality it is the demons who live in constant fear. James 2:19, “Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.” It is important to mention here that belief in God is not the way to be saved. John 6:40 tells us that “the will” of the Father to get to Heaven is to BELIEVE ON JESUS!!! The fallen angels know that there is a God, but they are not saved. They do not trust in Christ.

I do not fear Satan or his imp demons. I only fear God as the Bible teaches. There is absolutely no reason to be afraid of the Devil. 1st John 4:4-6, “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them. We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.” The indwelling Holy Spirit (God in us as His saints) is greater than the Devil, so that we need not fear anyone or anything but God alone (2nd Corinthians 5:11; Ephesians 5:21). Hebrews 13:6, “So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.”

A False Gospel Robs Jesus Of His Sacrifice On The Cross

We're talking about not stealing in this blog. Perhaps the greatest theft of all today are the wicked neo-evangelical preachers who rob Christ of His power to save. John 10:1, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.” I love the following picture that my youngest daughter drew when she was 14 years old. It shows that she had a good understanding of biblical salvation, knowing that faith in Jesus is the ONLY way into Heaven.

That is a helpful picture. The adage is true that “a picture is worth a thousand words.” As we just read in John 10:1, a thief tries to climb up “some other way” to enter into Heaven. The great irony is that the door to Heaven has been open for all of human civilization, through faith alone in Christ (Acts 10:43). John 10:6-9, “This parable spake Jesus unto them: but they understood not what things they were which he spake unto them. Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep. All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them. I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.”

I was shocked recently, when Campus Church at Pensacola Christian College literally mailed a toxic counterfeit plan of salvation right to my mailbox at my home. It was a booklet of John & Romans, with a damnable false plan of salvation in the back. On page 60 of their poisonous booklet PCC says that to get to Heaven you must, “follow and obey God's will instead of your self-serving sins.” Oh my! That is the Devil's lie of Lordship Salvation!!!

On page 62 PCC says that to get to Heaven you must say:

“I repent of my sins. I realize that sin is something that God hates and I no longer want to hold onto sinful bad habits in my life.”

Nowhere in the Holy Bible does it teach to give up our self-serving sins and obey God to be saved. Where does the inspired Word of God tells us that to be saved we cannot hold onto our sinful bad habits? Satan's greatest weapon is to con people into living the Christian life without ever being born again. PCC have wickedly polluted the Gospel, embellishing God's simple plan of salvation to include giving up your sinful bad habits, which is another gospel.

As we have seen in this blog, there are many forms of stealing. Some people steal gas and electricity. Others steal from businesses in Flash Mob Robberies. And some lying false prophets (the list of whom is getting longer each day) steal from credit to save that is due only to Jesus Christ. Shame on PCC for placing the burden to change upon the lost sinner's shoulders, when Christ alone bore the total weight of our sins on the cross of Calvary.

Without Christ you have a hopeless end; With Christ you have an endless hope. There is nothing standing in the records of eternity against any soul that trusts in the Lord Jesus Christ. Salvation is not a reward for the righteous, it is a gift for the guilty! Salvation is not doing your best, it is having Christ's best put to your account through receiving Him by faith. Turning away from sinful ways would be a work. Faith puts all of the merit where it belongs, on the object of our faith, Jesus and His work. If to “repent” means to forsake our sinful ways TO BE SAVED, but Jesus already paid for our sins by dying on the cross, then what are we repenting from? The true Gospel always points you to CHRIST; a false gospel always points to YOU.

The Bible Calls Atheist Richard Dawkins A “Fool”

Psalms 14:1, “The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God.  They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.”

Evolutionary biologist Richard Dawkins (born 1941) is an avowed atheist. I watched a documentary today that he produced titled, “The God Delusion,” which I will show you in a moment, but first here is a tremendous statement by Pastor John Cumming (1807-1881)...

There are umpteen problems with the documentary. To begin, Dawkins is woefully ignorant of the things of God, because he doesn't have the indwelling Holy Spirit (Romans 8:9). 

1st Corinthians 2:14-16, “But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man. For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.”

The “natural man” is the unregenerate, or unsaved, man. When we trust Jesus as our personal Savior, we are born-again, and have been regenerated [or, having He (Jesus) who is the beginning (Revelation 1:8) born in us].

Throughout Richard Dawkins' lame documentary he blasphemes God and Christianity. One unfair thing that he does is to try to discredit true Christianity, by showing the hypocrisies and wickedness of the Roman Catholic cult. Dawkins addresses the Catholic false doctrine of The Assumption of Mary (official Catholic dogma since 1950). I agree with Dawkins that there is nothing in the Holy Bible to support such a bizarre claim. In fact, I agree with all of Dawkins' rejection of organized religion. Throughout the documentary he shows the idiocy, weirdness and insanity of religious cults. I despise those idiots too! Please don't group Charismatic nutcases, religious hypocrites and corrupt ministers with genuine Bible Christendom, because they are not the same thing.

Dawkins also uses cheap goofy sounding religious music in his video. He has the song 'Onward Christian Soldier' playing in the background, which sounds like it was recorded on a $35 cheap Casio keyboard in Cha Cha mode. It sounds like circus music. I was just waiting for a clown to appear on the screen next...lol. Clearly, Dawkins is trying to make Christianity look as stupid as he can in the documentary. It just makes Dawkins appear manipulative!!!

Dawkins calls teaching children Christian doctrine, “Programmed Learning.” But the truth is that forcing the lies of evolutionary theories on children is equally, “Programmed Learning.” Adults always decide what the children under their influence will be taught. That is just the reality of life. Our government has no business educating our children. That was never the intended purpose of government by our founding fathers. The government's sole purpose is to protect our person, property and freedom. It's not the government's jobs to tamper with the economy. The Federal Reserve banking system since 1913 is ungodly criminal fraud!!! Hell is waiting for those evildoers, many of whom are already burning in the fires of Hell.

Richard Dawkins says religion is based on faith, not facts and science. But the same exact thing can be said of the blatant bogus theories of evolution; they are faith based, not rooted in facts or science! There isn't one iota of credible evidence to support the lies of evolution. By the time he died in 1882, Charles Darwin was angered that fools had taken his nonsensical theories bloviated during his youth, and turned them into a major belief system. I think as Darwin grew older he wised up, acknowledging the truth that God is our Creator.

You can freely listen to 'The God Delusion' audio book (it is 11:59 hour long). In his silly book, Dawkins continually falls back on human rationalization. But dear reader, common sense tells us that coincidence, time and luck couldn't have created the amazing universe that we live in. Walt Disney's H2 channel falsely claims that the universe originated from "accidental aftermath" and a "cosmic glitch." If you believe that you are a naïve fool. The only logical answer is God. The inspired Holy Bible says in Genesis 1:1, “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.” End of story!

The whole problem with Dawkins' entire argument is that everything he claims is based on his faith that God doesn't exist. He is just as guilty of going by faith as Christians are. Sadly, Dawkins is now 82 years old, nearing the end of his earthly life. Unless he repents of his unbelief, Richard will split Hell wide open (John 3:36; 1st John 2:22; Revelation 20:15, 21:8).

An Honest Thankful Person Knows That God Exists

It blows my mind how anyone could actually believe that God does not exist. I mean, it takes the sun 365.25 days to rotate around the earth. That is why we have "Leap Year" every 4 years (an extra day in February), to compensate for the extra 1/4 day each year. It takes the earth 24 hours to rotate on its axis. If you learn all that amazing astronomy facts, there is absolutely no way that evolution coincidentally made all this happen. Psalms 19:1-3 tells us that nature itself testifies God exists. Also, we read the same thing in Romans 1:20, so that men like Richard Dawkins and Stephen Hawking “are without excuse.”

Our universe has logic, order and stability to it, which only an intelligent Creator could do. Even science tells us that something cannot come from nothing. Anybody who claims that it can, but says there is no God, is a dishonest person. Psalms 8:3-4, “When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained; What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?” We have a very good God.

Our galaxy alone is 70,000 lightyears across. That means if a man could travel at the speed of light (which is an astounding 186,282 miles per second), and live 1,000 lifetimes, each one of them to the ripe old age of 70 years old, that is how long it would require a man to make just one journey across the entire distance of the Milky Way galaxy. Wow! Psalms 145:3, “Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised; and his greatness is unsearchable.”

The Holy Bible Was Given To Humanity By Divine Revelation

God could have simple handed His completed Word to the Apostle John in 96 AD, but instead God chose to reveal His inspired Word to approximately 40 men, over a period of about 1,500 years. These men spoke different languages, came from different backgrounds and countries. They were of various social status, education, intelligence and wealth. One was a tax-collector, others were doctors, farmers, statesmen, educators, Pharisees, fishermen, pastors and some plain old nobodies.

Yet, the 66 books that those holy men of old penned (by the inspiration of God's Holy Spirit) all perfectly harmonize and contain much prophecy. The King James Bible contains 31% prophecy. Psalm 14:1 says that only a fool declares in his heart that there is no God. I think that all men, regardless of how atheist they may claim to be, know in their heart of hearts that God exists. Romans 1:28a, “And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind...” God gives them enough rope to hang themselves. 

Please don't misunderstand. We read in 2nd Peter 3:9 that God is NOT willing that any should perish, but that ALL should come to repentance (i.e., change their mind to admit they are a sinner, and by faith receive Jesus Christ to be saved). But if a lost sinner rejects Jesus as their personal Savior, then the wrath of God the Father rests upon their head (John 3:36). God honors their foolish decision to stay lost, and lets them run the course in wickedness and unbelief, “Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them” (Romans 1:32). Judgment Day is coming for all mankind. The $64,000 question is—Will you stand at The Judgment Seat Of Christ as a believer (2nd Corinthians 5:9-11); or will you stand at The Great White Throne Of Judgment as an unbeliever (Revelation 20:11-15).

Nobody Can Honesty Say That God Does Not Exist

I have a classic book in front of me published in the year 1868, titled “GOD IN HISTORY and GOD IN SCIENCE,” authored by London Pastor John Cumming (1807-1881). May I say kindly, there's no such thing as an atheist! Some of the world's wealthiest celebrities have the stench of Hell on them, which is where they are all going, blaspheming the very God Who is kind to them. Luke 6:35b, “...for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.”

On page 139 of his book, “GOD IN HISTORY and GOD IN SCIENCE,” Pastor John Cumming makes a brilliant observation concerning professed atheists...

Atheism is folly as much as wickedness. But suffer me, before I show this, to say, that it is absolutely impossible that any man can be an atheist, in the strict sense of that word. All that any can say is this: “No spot that I have searched does reveal a God; every organization I have examined does not show traces of wisdom, goodness, and design:” but that individual cannot say; “There is no God;” because he cannot say, “I have soared to the farthest star, I have descended to the deepest mines, I have swept all space, and searched all time, and in the realms of infinite space I have not detected any traces of a God.” In other words, to be able to say, “There is no God,” you must yourself assume to be God, which is a reductio ad absurdum, an utter and a complete absurdity.

What a brilliant observation. How can any man claim to be an atheist unless he has traveled to the farthest place in the universe? The nearest star to the earth (after our own sun) is Alpha Centauri, which is 4.37 light-years away (28,200,000,000,000 miles away!). This is just one star, being the closest to earth besides our own sun, which is 93,000,000,000 miles away. My friend, the Hubble Space Telescope has discovered that there are at least 200,000,000,000 galaxies in the universe. And each of those galaxies contains BILLIONS of stars! It is anticipated that when the James Webb Telescope is launched in 2018 from NASA, that it will discover over ONE TRILLION GALAXIES!!!

The Word of God teaches that God made the stars. I love how Genesis 1:16 is written... “HE MADE THE STARS ALSO.” It's like the Bible is saying, “Oh, by the way, God also made all the stars!” Genesis 1:16, “And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.” God is amazing, Who knows the exact number of stars that He created, and he calls them each by their own name. Amen! Psalms 147:4, “He telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all by their names.”

I have just briefly discussed the stars. The world that exists under a microscope is even more amazing, complex and a mystery to mankind. How can anyone reasonably claim to be an atheist when man hasn't even discovered what's in 90% of the earth's oceans? Pastor John Cumming is so right... For anyone to say, “There is no God!,” you must yourself assume to be God! No human being has traveled to the ends of the universe. In fact, no human being has ever even left the Milky Way Solar System. Psalms 145:3, “Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised; and his greatness is unsearchable.”

John Cumming was a Scottish minister who was well-known for his anti-Catholic writings and preaching. Amen for that! One of the biggest evidences of apostasy in the United States today is that hardly any professed Christians, evangelicals and clergy criticize the damned Roman Catholic religion. Catholicism teaches sacramental salvation, which is a manmade teaching that goes totally contrary to the inspired Words of God in the Bible. Roman and Russian Orthodox Catholicism are of the Devil. The pope is not the vicar of Heaven, but of Hell. Mary was born by normal conception, did not remain a virgin, and died a sinner's death like all human beings. Only Jesus Christ was born of a virgin and lived a sinless life. Thank God that Pastor John Cumming exposed the Catholic church for what it is, of the Devil.

Does 1st John Teach Willful Sinners Are Not Saved?

1st John 3:7-9, “Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous. He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.”

This is perhaps the most misunderstood passage in the Holy Bible, next to James chapter 2. The proponents of the Devil's falsehood of Lordship Salvation, and those false prophets who insist that you must turn from your sinful ways to get to Heaven, love to cite this Scripture passage in an attempt to support their false teaching. Kindly said, they are WRONG!

The part that doesn't sin is the spirit that is born of God. The flesh will not inherit the kingdom of God (1st Corinthians 6:9-11). The spirit cannot sin at all because it is born of God. Many Bible students today are using a terrible awful version of the Bible, that distorts the truth. 

Look in the King James Bible. It says in 1st John 3:9, “Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.” Doth not commit does not mean habitual or a practice. It means NOT AT ALL. That is the spirit part. When a person believes on Christ, they are born-again by the Holy Spirit of God. That is the spirit. You must believe Christ died for YOUR sins to be born again. Change your mind and stop believing on living a righteous lifestyle. That is, they have been born from above. To be “born again” means to have Jesus, who is the beginning (Revelation 1:7), born in us.

It is impossible for the Holy Spirit to sin. When we get saved, the Holy Spirit and our spirit become one. We have a new nature in Christ. We are not our biological parents, but we have their DNA inside us. Likewise, we are not God, but we have God inside us as His child (1st Corinthians 3:15-16; Romans 8:9; 1st John 3:24).

The Devil's modern Bible are corrupted, saying that people who are really saved do not make a practice of sinning. That is 100% untrue! Everybody practices sin as a habit. You are delusional if you think you have overcome sinning. We will struggle with sin as long as we are still living in this fleshly body. The Apostle Paul struggled daily with sin (Romans 7:14-25). It is possible to live above reproach, but no one can live above sinning. Psalms 130:3, “If thou, LORD, shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand?”

The Devil's Modern Bible Revisions Corrupt 1st John 3:6-9

Please do not fall for the Devil's lie in his corrupt Bible versions, which teach that you are not saved if you have a habit of sinning. God's man Samson chased unholy skirts all his life (Judges 16:1), but he is in Heaven today. Lot lived a sinful lifestyle. If it were not for 2nd Peter 2:7-8, we'd never know from the Old Testament that Abraham's nephew Lot is in Heaven today. Lot was a “just man” the Bible says, even though he committed much sin. The Bible is full of saints who lived lives of sin (Joseph's brothers, Esau, Solomon, Demas, et cetera).

KING JAMES BIBLE (KJB) - 1st John 3:6-10, “Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him. Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous. He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.”

Now read what the Devil's popular PERversion, the ESV says:

ENGLISH STANDARD VERSION ESV) - 1st John 3:6-10, “No one who abides in him keeps on sinning; no one who keeps on sinning has either seen him or known him. Little children, let no one deceive you. Whoever practices righteousness is righteous, as he is righteous. Whoever makes a practice of sinning is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil. No one born of God makes a practice of sinning, for God's seed abides in him; and he cannot keep on sinning, because he has been born of God. By this it is evident who are the children of God, and who are the children of the devil: whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is the one who does not love his brother.”

Dear reader, there is a drastic difference between what these two passages teach. The ESV says you cannot keep on sinning if you are saved. But that is NOT what the King James Bible teaches. The King James Bible correctly reads, “he cannot sin”; but the ESV errantly reads, “he cannot keep on sinning.” Not being able to sin, and to not keep on sinning, are two very different ideas. The former means that there is no way you can sin, but the latter implies that you must choose to stop living in sin.

To understand this passage of Scripture (and we covered some of this earlier), you need to understand that when someone gets born-again, the Holy Spirit of God comes inside to live. In theology we call this to be “indwelt” with the Holy Spirit. The unsaved (or unregenerate) person only has their spirit which is dead in trespasses and sin (Ephesians 2:1). So, unlike the unsaved person who only has their conscience and good character to keep them from sinning; the Christian believer also has the indwelling Holy Spirit to teach, guide, convict, comfort and chastise the child of God.

So, there is a continual conflict in the believer between the lusts of the flesh, and the indwelling Spirit of God. The Apostle Paul explains this dilemma in Romans 7:14-25. When we choose to Walk in the Flesh, we sin. When we choose to Walk in the Spirit, we do what is right. At any given time a believer can choose to Walk in the Spirit, but we won't always make that right choice because we are still sinners by nature and by choice.

This ongoing struggle is what 1st John 3:6-10 is teaching about. The redeemed spirit cannot sin, but the flesh still can. When we sin, we do so in the flesh. The spirit that has been redeemed by God, and is now joined with the Holy Spirit, cannot sin. This is something very different than the corrupt modern Bible revisions, which have changed God's Word to falsely teach that you are not saved if you are living a lifestyle of sinning. That is not what the King James Bible says, not even close. I trust friend that you the difference.

We will never stop sinning as a habit. The very idea that someone can turn from their sins is an absurd fallacy. You haven't turned from your sins and neither have I. You may have decided to reform to clean up your life of sin (as did Judas in Matthew 27:3), but at best that is all you can do; some sinning still remains. So, whether you give up 10%, 50% or 99% of your sinning, even if 1% still remains, you haven't really turned from your sins; you've just improved yourself in YOUR own strength and merit. That is NOT God's saving grace, it is works!

Being Spiritually Dead By Birth Versus The Second Death In Hell

Please know that to be spiritually dead is not the same thing as the second death. Romans 5:12 tells us that when Adam sinned in the Garden of Eden, he opened the floodgate of sin upon the human race, and so by sin came death upon the world. So, everyone is born spiritually dead. This is why everyone needs to be “born again” by the Holy Spirit of God. The adage is true: If your born once, you die twice; it you're born twice, you die once.

The “second death” is when a person is cast body and soul into Hell (Revelation 21:8). Since our earthly body decomposes when we die the physical death, obviously god will need to supply some form of body to those who go to Hell. This body will need to be able to withstand the intolerable high temperatures of the fire and brimstone in the Lake of Fire. I don't know about you friend, but I got saved because I was afraid to go to Hell. That is a perfectly good reason to get saved.

I heard Paris Reidhead (1919-1992), a Chinese missionary, foolishly teach that you didn't get saved if the only reason you trusted Christ was to escape the fires of Hell. Dear reader, it doesn't matter why you get saved, just so long as you get saved before it is too late! The only requirement to trust Christ is to acknowledge that you are a guilty sinner. You need to know why Christ had to die on a cross to pay for your sins. I mean, if you're not a guilty sinner on your way to be justly punished in Hell for eternity, then why would you need a Savior? Right?

If you admit to being a guilty sinner in God's holy sight, then all you need to do to be saved is to by faith take God at His Word in the Scriptures. Simply receive Christ's sacrifice on the cross as full-payment for your sins, believing that after being buried, He bodily resurrected three days later from the dead for your justification. This is “the gospel” by which all who BELIEVE IT are saved (1st Corinthians 15:1-4; Romans 1:16).

The evidence that someone is saved is the presence of the indwelling Holy Spirit. 1st John 3:24, “And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.” If you have to look at your life to prove that you are saved, it just proves you are not. Salvation is of the Lord. Our only part in salvation is to get out of the way, ceasing from our own works, and resting completely in the finished redemptive work of Christ.
