Yes! No one is truly born-again who denies the virgin birth of Jesus Christ! A disturbing article by journalist Giles Fraser appeared on December 24, 2015 in 'The Guardian' newspaper in Europe called: 'The story of the virgin birth runs against the grain of Christianity,' in which he heretically states:
Far too much rests on notions of Mary’s purity. That focus affects our attitudes towards sex and femininity
...The idea that Jesus was born of “pure virgin” could well have been a reaction to these insults. That Mary’s womb was “spotless” was perhaps a cover story designed by Jesus’s supporters to explain a more God-like nature for his arrival. But here’s the problem. For what separates Christianity from other religious traditions is that – the birth narratives aside – Christianity deliberately refuses the familiar distinction between the pure and the impure. Jesus was born in a cowshed; from lepers to prostitutes, he deliberately courted the ritually unclean; and he spent most of his ministry tearing down barriers between pure and impure – not least, those of the Temple – that separated the “ungodly” from God himself.
...That the cult of Mary’s virginity came to play such a large role in the development of Christianity is a testament to the powerful hold that purity has on the religious imagination. From this perspective, her womb became the new Temple, a pure place for God to reside. But this damaged the basics of Christian philosophy by persuading too many that sex is dirty and that women ought to model the impossible combination of virgin and mother. Outside the first two chapters of Matthew and Luke, the virgin birth plays no further part in the New Testament. St Paul makes no mention of it. And most scholars agree that virgin is probably a mistranslation of the Hebrew word for young woman. [emphasis added]
SOURCE: 'The story of the virgin birth runs against the grain of Christianity,'Whoa! That is the thinking of an unsaved man, who does not love the Lord Jesus Christ. How can the Bible doctrine of the virgin birth of Christ be a damaging thing? Kindly, Mr. Fraser is filtering the Bible through a lens of political correctness if this gender-bending wicked generation of feminists, homosexuals and liberals!
And may I say, only those liberal Bible scholars who are unsaved, and are inspired by Satan, claim that the word “virgin” should really be “young woman”! What kind of lame Bible prophesy would foretell the pregnancy of a young woman? That doesn't even make any sense! There have been BILLIONS of young pregnant woman throughout human civilization. 700 before Christ was born in Bethlehem, the prophet Isaiah prophesied that a “virgin” would conceive, as a sign that God's Word was true! Only a fool, and a wicked deceiver, would dare interpret Isaiah 7:14 as “young woman” instead of “virgin.” It is a brutal attack on the deity of Jesus Christ!!! The perverted Easy-To-Read Version (ERV) of the Holy Bible does exactly that, corrupting the Scriptures to appease unbelievers! Jesus was born miraculously of a virgin!!! God almighty is Jesus' biological Father, not a human man.
We Are Saved By Believing The Simple Gospel
In Galatians 3:1-2, “O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you? This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?” I love that small phrase... “BY THE HEARING OF FAITH.” It is that simple to be saved. When we hear the 'Good News' (Gospel) preached and we place our faith in the message, we are forever saved! Paul asked the Galatians, “How did you get indwelt with the Holy Spirit?” That is, how did you get saved? Was it by doing the works of the law? Or did you simply put your faith in the Gospel that you heard preached? Paul didn't ask them a bunch of theological questions. Paul only wanted to know how they got saved. Was it BY THE HEARING OF FAITH? I think that makes it very simple. John 6:47, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.”The inspired Word of God defines 'THE GOSPEL' for us:
1st Corinthians 15:1-4, “Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:”Those three things comprise the Gospel: Jesus DEATH on the cross, BURIAL, and physical RESURRECTION after three days. That is the 'GLAD TIDINGS,' or 'GOOD NEWS.' The only requirement to believing the Gospel is to see your NEED as a sinner, otherwise you won't want the Gospel. Someone once asked Dr. Bob Jones Sr. if a person can be a Christian and deny Jesus' virgin birth. Dr. Jones wisely replied that a Christian WILL believe in Jesus' virgin birth. The indwelling Holy Spirit will guide us into all the truths that God wants us to learn. John 16:13, “Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.” I did not know Jesus is God when I got saved at age 13, but when I learned about the deity of Christ five years later in Bible college, I knew it was the truth and rejoiced in my heart. To be saved, you simply need to believe 'THE GOSPEL.'
To be saved, we must not believe in “another Jesus” which the apostle Paul warned about (2nd Corinthians 11:3-4). I had to ponder this question for awhile, if a person has to believe in the virgin birth to be saved. Yes, and the reason why is obvious—because Jesus is the only begotten Son of God! Since Jesus is God's biological child, then He cannot have an earthly father, which means He absolutely had to be born of a virgin. The virgin birth is the very foundation of Christianity, proving that Jesus came to earth as almighty God in the flesh. I do not believe that a soulwinner must mention the virgin birth to lead someone to the Lord, because it is a given conclusion when you tell someone that Jesus is the only begotten Son of God. Being the only begotten Son of God would not be possible without the virgin birth of the Savior. Anyone who denies Jesus' virgin birth is not saved!!!
“There is power in this Gospel message. Most people just don't know how to present it... The clarity of the Gospel is what makes it easy for them to believe.” —Pastor Yankee Arnold, a quote from the excellent MP3 sermon titled: “WHY GRACE CAN SAVE THE WORST MAN!”
