'THRU THE BIBLE' Radio By Pastor J. Vernon McGee

I found these FREE downloads of all 66 books of the Bible exegeted by Dr. J. Vernon McGee (1904-1988). Pastor McGee was a faithful Presbyterian free grace Gospel preacher, as was Evangelist Billy Sunday (1862-1935). I thank God for Brother McGee, that he preserved these invaluable recordings of his 'THRU THE BIBLE' 5-year radio series for future generations...

I downloaded all the MP3's all to a folder that I created on my computer. Then I transferred them to my portable MP3 player which I use in my car. I connect the MP3 player with a 1/4 stereo audio cable to my auxiliary port on my radio, so I can hear the Bible studies through my car's stereo system. Have you ever stopped to think about how much time we spend listening to music, when we could be spiritually edified by listening to something better?

Here is one of my favorite sermon excerpts by Pastor McGee, in which he exposes the Devil's deadly counterfeit gospel of 'LORDSHIP SALVATION.' ...

We Often Use The Wrong Weapons As Saints

Ephesians 6:11-20, “Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel, For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.”

In this Scripture passage we learn of the believer's seven pieces of armour and weaponry:
  1. Loins gird about with the truth
  2. Breastplate of righteousness
  3. Feet shod with preparation of the Gospel
  4. Shield of faith
  5. Helmet of salvation
  6. Sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God
  7. Prayer
These are our spiritual weapons of warfare.

So often as saints, we choose to use the world's inferior weapons of criticism, anger, revenge, holding a grudge, giving the silent treatment, needless lawsuits, hatred and unkindness, dishonoring the Lord Jesus Christ. May we all Walk in the Spirit to fulfill the law, by loving our neighbor as our self.

I encourage you dear reader to get busy sharing the Gospel with lost sinners. Pray for the people in your life, getting your mind off of yourself. Philippians 2:4, “Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.” Speak the truth and contend for the faith (Jude 1:3). Have faith in God (Mark 11:22b).

Jesus Was Not Always Human

Hebrews 10:4-6, “For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins. Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me: In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure.”

I love Pastor Jack Hyles (1926-2001), but even he gets it wrong sometimes (and I do too; no preacher is always right in his doctrine). As I often do, I listen to random sermons by Brother Hyles. I have amassed a collection of 3,256 sermons and Bible studies so far by Dr. Hyles, which is worth more than gold to me.

Jesus Was Not Always Human

Today I heard a strange sermon titled, "Human Nature Is Not really Human Nature."
The gist of the sermon is that animals have a body and soul, but no spirit. Dr. Hyles teaches that born-again humans have a spirit, soul and body, but unsaved people are as animals, not humans, since their spirit is dead. I humbly disagree. Dr. Hyles says at about 31 minutes into the sermon:
"You either walk in the Spirit or you're not human."
That is strange doctrine. At about 21 minutes into the sermon Dr. Hyles says:
"Man in his unregenerate state is not human."
I humbly disagree. When Adam sinned, he opened the floodgate of sin and death upon the world (Romans 5:12). Consequently, we were all born dead in trespasses and sins (Ephesians 2:1). Being spiritually dead is not the second death (Revelation 21:8). The "second death" is when a person dies in their sins without Christ and goes to Hell forever. But we were already spiritually dead when we were physically born.

That is why we all must be born-again to become alive (quickened) spiritually by the Holy Spirit of God. Whether a human being is spiritually dead or alive, we still have a spirit. Your spirit may be dead as an unbeliever, but you still have a spirit. Ecclesiastes 12:7 says that when a human dies our spirit return to God that gave it.

Dr. Hyles also teaches that:
"Jesus was always human."
Respectfully, Dr. Hyles says that Jesus has always been the God-man in eternity. He says that Jesus became flesh when he was born of the flesh, but says He was already human. I cannot find any Scriptural support for what Dr. Hyles is teaching in this sermon, so I cannot ascribe to this strange doctrine. The reason why saints in the Old Testament went to Paradise and not directly to Heaven, was because Christ had not yet died on the cross for their sins. Although some Bible students reject the idea of a place of Paradise, I humbly believe it is the only biblical conclusion if you rightly divide the Word of Truth. Please read, "Where Are The Dead?"

I have no doubt that his intentions are pure, trying to get us to realize that when we walk in the flesh we are behavior like animals; albeit, RIGHT DOCTRINE MATTERS!

I find no pride in contradicting a great man of God. Dr. Hyles is and always will be my hero of the Christian faith. My ministry website wouldn't exist without Pastor Hyles' godly influence in my life, but Dr. Hyles taught us preacher boys to be loyal to truth and principles and not to men and institutions; that is what I am doing! I was saved at age 13 under the preaching of a Hyles-Anderson College graduate pastoring in Chicago. I owe Pastor Hyles a debt of gratitude which cannot be expressed in words.

Before Jesus came to earth, He was with God, and He is God (John 1:1-3, 14).

Jesus Did Not Pay For Our Sins By Being Trapped In A Body

Having said that, I read a strange doctrine recently in The Strand Study Bible, with which I humbly disagree. Brother Strand teaches that Jesus only existed in Spirit form before He became incarnate (i.e., He became flesh). Pastor Strand teaches the opposite of what Dr. Hyles teaches. Pastor Hyles says Jesus was always human; Brother Strand says Jesus existed only as a Spirit prior to His fleshly birth.

Pastor Strand errantly teaches that Jesus couldn't possibly pay for our deserved eternal punishment of Hell in just 6 hours on the cross, so His eternal punishment was to be confined in a human body forever. That is his exact word used, "confined." I humbly disagree. Brother Strand teaches that Jesus forfeited His eternal Spirit form and is now confined in a human body, which is His eternal punishment by which He paid for our sins. Kindly, using Pastor Strand's rationale, how could one man die for billions of humans? Jesus' punishment was not being confined in a physical body forever. It makes no sense to me and is strange doctrine nowhere taught in the Bible. I wrote a blog about it. Jesus paid for our sins with His precious blood (Romans 5:9; 1st John 1:7; 1st Peter 1:18-19; Revelation 1:5).

I love these dear men of God. My purpose in this post is not to tear down or diminish the greatness of these men; but rather, to preach the Scriptural truth which I believe to be true, for the sake of maintaining correct doctrine. RIGHT DOCTRINE MATTERS.

The Bible speaks in Revelation 13:8b of "the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world." Some theologians think this verse refers to the innocent animal which God killed to provide skins of clothing for Adam and Eve, when God rejected Adam's fig-leaf religion (clothing). Other Bible students think this verse refers to the innocent animal which Abel killed and offered as a blood sacrifice to God, which demonstrated his faith in the coming Messiah. I humbly think this verse refers to Jesus, who in God's mind had already been crucified before the world was even created. Does this mean that Jesus always existed in human form, crucified before the world began? I simply do not know.

We also see in Daniel that when King Nebuchadnezzar peered into the fiery furnace, he saw four men (but only 3 had been cast in). The heathen king said that the fourth man looked like the Son of God (Daniel 3:25). Clearly, Jesus appeared in a preincarnate form in the Old Testament in a physical body. I believe it was Jesus who appeared unto Abraham, while on their way to visit Sodom to see the conditions of that woeful city.

I also believe Jesus is none other than Melchisedec in Hebrews chapter 5, since He has neither mother or father. But I won't dare say that Jesus appeared in His earthly human body throughout the Old Testament in the same body conceived by Mary. That would be strange doctrine in my humble opinion. I agree with Dr. John R. Rice that where the Bible is silent we should also be silent.

I humbly think it is okay to speculate, just so long as we tell our audience that we are doing so. The Apostle Paul at times mentioned that he was merely giving his personal opinion, and that God had not told him to say those things; and yet we see that God chose to include Paul's personal comments as inspired Scripture.

Where The Bible Is Silent We Should Be Silent

I do not claim to have all the answers. But I certainly don't believe Jesus is being punished for our sins by being "stuck" in a human body forever. Nor do I believe that we are animals when we refuse to walk in the Spirit. The vilest human being still has a spirit, dead as it may be. When the Apostle James says faith without works is "dead" in James 2:17, it is still faith. Dead faith is still existing faith. Many believers are woefully lacking works to shew their faith in the sight of men, but their faith is nevertheless 100% real and still saving faith.

I thought I'd share these intriguing Bible truths with everyone. I'm not saying that I am right on everything, but I do not feel comfortable with the sermon I heard today by Brother Hyles, because he couldn't back up his teachings with Scripture, and neither could Pastor Strand in his commentary. I absolutely love his commentary, but I don't cut anybody any slack if I sincerely think they are in doctrinal error. The doctrine of Christ is important.

I used to tell people to "invite Jesus into your heart" to be saved, but I learned about 15 years ago from Pastor Max D. Younce that it is unbiblical, so I never used that phrase again. A "heart" is a muscle about twice the size of one's fist. A child cannot understand how to invite Jesus into a muscle. We get saved by BELIEVING Jesus did it all for us through Calvary's cross, not by inviting Him into our heart or life. Judas was a part of Jesus' life but went to Hell.

I hate that religious tract titled, "Missing Heaven By 18 Inches." The tract says inside that 18 inches is the distance between your mind and your heart. The tract is stupid and makes no doctrinal sense at all. The biblical "heart" is our subconscious brain, where our feelings and will reside. Effectively, the heart is a part of our human brain. So it makes zero sense to try to explain to someone that they may not be saved if they merely believe the Gospel in their mind, but not their heart. We should never tell someone that theological junk. You may know the facts of the Gospel in your mind, but not believe (trust) those facts; but it is impossible to BELIEVE those facts in your mind but not your heart.

I humbly disagree with Dr. Jack Hyles that Jesus was always human, and that Jesus could somehow be “human prior to His incarnation without a fleshly body. Until Jesus was conceived in Mary's womb by a miracle of the Holy Spirit, Jesus was not a human. I don't think Dr. Hyles should make bold claims when the Bible does not.

Respectfully said, nor should Pastor Brad Strand teach that Jesus' paid for our sins by being confined in a physical body for all eternity, giving up His previous Spirit form. These are strange doctrines. I've never heard anybody teach these things, except these two men. As I mentioned, I love Dr. Hyles and Pastor Strand, but I humbly disagree with their teachings regarding the person of Christ. The Bible is very clear in many passages (e.g., 1st Peter 1:18-19) that Jesus paid for our sins with His precious blood, which He sprinkled on the Mercy Seat in Heaven (Hebrews 9:12, 22-24; 10:1; 12:24).

Jesus did appear in some sort of a physical visible body in the Old Testament. Pastor Hyles preached a helpful sermon titled, "Jesus In The Old Testament." Since I got saved 43 years ago at age 13 in 1980, I have always believed that Jesus didn't become "human" until He was virgin-born into the world—the only begotten (biological) Son of God (John 3:16).

The strange notion that Jesus was always human, but lacked flesh, cannot be supported with the Scriptures. I think it is important to set the matter straight, because I have had professed Christians want to argue with me on this matter, in defense of Brother Hyles' heresy. Nobody loves Dr. Hyles as much as I do, but I love God, truth and principles first and foremost. Our text passage from Hebrews 10:5 says, but a body hast thou prepared me.”

When we die someday and our soul and spirit depart and separate from our body of flesh, will we still be human? I think not. We will exist in spirit form. The Bible teaches that when our earthly tabernacle (body) can no longer provide housing our "soul and spirit" (Hebrews 4:12), we have a house in Heaven made without hands. 2nd Corinthians 5:1, “For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. I honestly do not know exactly what that means. Does it mean that God has a new temporary body for us in Heaven, while we wait until we receive our immortal body at the Rapture, which will be fashioned like unto the Lord's resurrected body? (1st Corinthians 15:51-58; Philippians 3:21). Or does it simply mean that we have a home in Heaven? I do not know. Someone has said that "B.I.B.L.E." can be expressed as an acronym: "Basic Instruction Before Leaving Earth." I like that!

I don't like when religious leaders speak with authority about matters they cannot support with the Scriptures. I am as narrow-minded as the Bible. Ecclesiastes 7:29, “Lo, this only have I found, that God hath made man upright; but they have sought out many inventions.” It was never God's intention for mankind to fall into sin and rebellion, although in His foreknowledge He knew that it would happen. There are far more unanswerable questions than there are answers. God told us what we need to know to prepare for eternity. I think the saying is true: If God were small enough to be understand, He wouldn't be big enough to be worshipped.

We know that Jesus created all things (John 1:1-3 - King James Bible). The modern Devil's Bible revisions corrupt this passage in John 1:3, changing the preposition "by" to "through," which attacks Jesus' deity as the Creator. God the Father didn't create everything through Jesus; All things were created by Jesus as part of the Godhead. Genesis 1:26, “And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. There is the Godhead (aka, Trinity). The Godhead created mankind.

Jesus was never created. He is and always has been God. John 1:1-3, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.” John 1:14 teaches that the Word became flesh, and we beheld His glory as the only begotten Son of God. Revelation 19:13 says that Jesus' name is "THE WORD OF GOD." Dr. John R. Rice (1895-1980) called them "twins." Jesus is the Living Word and the Bible is the Written Word. Jesus told us in John 5:39, "Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me." The inspired Scriptures are inseparably connected with Jesus Christ, for they are one and the same.

Jesus Appeared In The Old Testament As The Angel Of The Lord

Many Bible scholars believe Jesus appeared on earth in the Old Testament, not as a man, but as the Angel of the Lord. The Old Testament contains more than 50 references to the "Angel of the Lord." The Angel of the Lord rescued Sarah’s handmaid Hagar and her son Ishmael. The Angel of the Lord appeared unto Abraham on the way to Sodom to respond to the victim's cries from the city. The Angel of the Lord appeared in a burning bush to Moses. He fed the prophet Elijah. He came to call Gideon. Appearances of the Angel of the Lord stopped after Jesus’ birth. He could not be on earth as a human being and as an angel simultaneously. These pre-incarnate manifestations were called in theology, theophanies or christophanies, the appearance of God to human beings.

I cannot explain all this, and neither can you nor anybody else. We can only claim to know what the Bible states as a fact, the rest is mere speculation. Thankfully, the Holy Bible is very clear on the Gospel (1st Corinthians 15:1-4), so there is no speculation regarding how to get to Heaven. I do not believe Jesus was always human, even though He did appear as the Angel of the Lord throughout the Old Testament. I think it is safe to conclude that Jesus first became human when He was conceived by the Holy Spirit in the womb of a virgin, Mary (Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:23). Thank you for reading my blog.

We Simply Do Not Know

There are more questions than answers about God and the Bible. God doesn't tell us many things, but we know enough to live this life for Christ and get to Heaven by faith alone in Him. Where the Bible is silent it is best to remain silent. It is okay to speculate, just so long as we call it that.

I have always thought a "human" begins at conception in the womb. We know that Christ appeared in the Old Testament in many places as the Angel of the Lord, but not as a human. Angels appeared in the Bible as humans. In fact, the Bible says that some saints have met angels but didn't even recognize them as angels. Hebrews 13:2, "Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares." Angels look just like humans. Lot prepared a feast for the two angels who came to him (Genesis 19:3). So we know that angels can eat food and drink with enjoyment. That is interesting. Yet, angels are not humans.

The idea that Jesus was always human doesn't set right with me, since He hadn't been conceived yet in Mary's womb by the Holy Spirit. Jesus is God. He was never created. John 1:3 says Jesus created all things. Genesis 1:26 says that the Godhead ("us") created man in "our image" (i.e., in God's image). Here we see the Trinity. The King James Bible mentions that "godhead" in Romans 1:20, Acts 17:29 and Colossians 2:9. All of the Devil's modern Bible revisions remove these words, changing it to "divine nature" (which sounds like new age).

The details of Christ's person are unsearchable by humanity. All we know is what the Bible tells us. Revelation 19:13 says Jesus' name is "THE WORD OF GOD." John 1:1-3 and 14 teach that the Word became flesh. I am not sure what that means. How does "the Word" become flesh? To me "the Word" refers to the printed Bible. But the Bible also says that Jesus is "the Word." That is difficult to grasp. Perhaps it means that since the Word was authored by God, it is effectively Him. The adage is true that: A man is only as good as his Word. A man's word is his bond.

Psalms 138:2, "I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name." I understand why God elevates His Word above His name, because as with men, God's name is only as reliable and trustworthy as His Word. If the Bible is not 100% true, then God is a liar and we cannot trust Him. So, as best that I can tell, when the Bible says that "the Word became flesh" (John 1:14), it means God is inseparably connected with His written Word, that is, God's integrity is dependent upon the trustworthiness of the Holy Bible. The Word became flesh and His name is Jesus.

I Regret Stopping By McDonald's Today

I went for my follow-up doctor's appointment today for my diabetes. My numbers improved significantly over the past 3 months. In September my triglycerides were 2,062, but today were at 242. My A1C in September was 10.7%, but today was 7.6%. I'm taking prescription Mounjaro, which is an awesome drug in my humble opinion. I've lost 12 pounds in 2 months so far. The FDA just approved the exact same drug under a different brand name for weight loss, called ZepBound. Mounjaro is strictly for diabetics. My cholesterol in September was 342, but today was 120. My blood pressure went from 160/96 in September to 109/64 today. So far so good, praise the Lord. I thanked my doctor for her help.

But I feel like I sinned on the way home because I stopped at McDonalds. I hadn't been to McDonalds since once last month when I saw they had McRib's for sale. I am trying to avoid junk food, but I wanted to treat myself a little. The fish fillet wasn't hot. The fries were lukewarm. The Diet Coke with extra ice was great! I was shocked what they charged me! The fish fillet cost $5.49 by itself, plus $.050 for extra cheese, $.0.55 for extra tartar sauce. The Big Mac Meal cost $9.49 which came with regular size fries and a medium soda. Plus $1.20 Florida tax. All toll, I paid $17.23 for an inferior meal. I seriously doubt if I will go to McDonald's once in the next year (unless the McRib's come I remember when you could buy 2 Big Mac's for $2.

This past week I ate a bunch of Chinese food loaded with lots of fresh vegetables. I blew it today by succumbing to my cravings for McDonalds (that cursed Fast food isn't worth it anymore, being way overpriced for garbage food in the first place. After my weakness today I am resolved to stay away from fast food this coming year in 2024 as much as possible. Eating at home is so much cheaper. I do plan, God willing, to eat plenty of fresh vegetables from the local Chinese restaurants. It's 100% better for one's health than Burger King, KFC or McDonalds.

I didn't even eat the Big Mac and half the fries, because I wasn't hungry after eating the Fish Fillet sandwich. The Mounjaro curbs my appetite. I feel full much quicker than I did before taking the medication. The Bible teaches us to revenge all disobedience. I apply that verse to my eating habits as well. I regret stopping at McDonald's today, but it was good that I finally realized how ridiculous prices have become. At least 50% of the time when I have gone to McDonald's, their food is cold, dry and dissatisfying; it's garbage food.
McDonald's is pricing themselves out of business.

I Hate The New Thinner Pop-Tarts

Hebrews 13:8-9, “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever. Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines. For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace; not with meats, which have not profited them that have been occupied therein.”

I hadn't eaten a Pop-Tart in over 10 years. But this past week I was craving a Pop-Tart, which I was fond of when I was younger. So, I went to Walmart and I bought a couple boxes of Pop-Tarts. I wanted to wait until Christmas Day to eat one. I opened the box yesterday with eagerness, anticipating my long lost tasty treat, but I was horribly disappointed when I took the first bite. Oh no, they shrunk the Pop-Tarts!!!

The new Pop-Tarts are only half as thick as they used to be. It totally changes the eating experience and flavor of the pastry. Since there is less filling now and more crust, it tastes empty; like eating an unsalted Saltine cracker with sugar on it. I absolutely hate the new Pop-Tarts and doubt if I'll ever buy them again. The eating experience is not what I happily remembered over 10 years ago. The struggling economy and skyrocketing food prices have taken their toll on Pop-Tarts.

Pop-Tarts were first produce in 1964, and still today, by the Kellanova company. I am sad that they have made their product inferior to compete with the slowly failing economy. I guarantee you that things will get MUCH worse in our economy. Homes are already priced way out of reach for most Americans. Prices will continue to rise. Homelessness is just getting started. Within 25 years or sooner, if the Lord tarries His return, I humbly foresee 3 to 5 million Americans homeless on the streets and living in their vehicles. Right now there are about one million homeless Americans. Crime will increase at shocking levels. Increasingly, we will see lawlessness across the country without any resistance or intervention from law enforcement (just as we saw in the Black Lives Matter 2020 riots nationwide).

The Federal Reserve Act (passed into law in December of 1913 while most of Congress was away from the holidays) is the most heinous evil scam ever perpetrated upon the American people, which robs men of their hard-earned wealth, filling the pockets of the rich. The Federal Reserve is a Ponzi Scheme!!! It is inevitable that the U.S. economy must ultimately collapse, because the Federal Reserve is based on fraud, not actual wealth. The wicked families behind the Federal Reserve central banking system are thieves who ruthlessly steal men's labors under the guise of law and justice, earning nothing legitimate for themselves except the wrath and judgment of almighty God (Ecclesiastes 5:8; Hebrews 4:13). Exodus 20:15, “Thou shalt not steal.

Pop-Tarts aren't the only thing which have changed for the worse in our country. The gender-bending insanity that is being forced upon our nation's children today will continue, but increasingly with the law on the side of the liberals, nuts, perverts and wicked perpetrators of this sick-minded, carefully plotted, Luciferian agenda to recruit and corrupt children. Satanism is right in front of everyone's face but they don't even see it. That is how Satan operates, in plain sight undetected!

I thank God that He never changes (Malachi 3:6). I am thankful that the Holy Bible never changes (Psalms 119:89). I am grateful that Jesus never changes (Hebrews 13:8). But I am sad that Pop-Tarts have changed. I can't believe how thin they are now. The new ratio of filling to crust is all wrong, making them taste like sweet cardboard.

Modern Bible Revisions Errantly Say God Preserves The Helpless, Not The Very Pure Words Of God

Psalms 12:6-7, “The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.”

They following is a comparison between the King James Bible (KJB) and the Satanic Easy-To-Read Version (ERV). All modern versions change this promise from God to nonsense. Notice carefully that the KJB promises that God would preserve His Words unto every generation, whereas the ERV changes it completely, saying that God protects the helpless . . .
KING JAMES BIBLE (KJB) — Psalms 12:6-7, “The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.” [emphasis added]

EASY-TO-READ VERSION (ERV) — Psalms 12:6-7, “The Lord’s words are true and pure, like silver purified by fire, like silver melted seven times to make it perfectly pure. Lord, take care of the helpless. Protect them forever from the wicked people in this world.” [emphasis added]
WICKED! THAT IS EVIL WICKEDNESS!!! This single passage alone that I just shared with you ought to be enough reason to convince you that the Easy-To-Read Version (ERV) is a Satanic imposter. It should be tossed into your garbage pail.

It should be obvious to you, the reader, why the Bible-corrupting gang changed this passage of Scripture. If God has kept His promise to preserve His pure Words, then we must have a pure word-for-word Holy Bible. Since there are literally hundreds of different English Bible translations, which all say something different, they had to change this Scripture to hide the wickedness of what they are doing (i.e., corrupting the Holy Bible for money).

If you have a King James Bible, then you possess God's preserved, pure, holy words in your hands. But if you have dozens of different Bibles in your church and Bible college, then you cannot believe in a pure Holy Bible, and that's why the Devil's crowd changed Psalms 12:6-7 to say that God protects the helpless, instead of telling THE TRUTH from the King James Bible that God has kept His promise to PRESERVE HIS PURE WORDS. Notice that God's Words are not just pure, but “VERY PURE.” Psalms 119:140, “Thy word is very pure: therefore thy servant loveth it.”

Furthermore, check out what the popular ESV reads:
ENGLISH STANDARD VERSION (ESV) - Psalms 12:6-7, “The words of the Lord are pure words, like silver refined in a furnace on the ground, purified seven times. You, O Lord, will keep them; you will guard us from this generation forever.” [emphasis added]
The demonic ESV is the official corrupt Bible revision used, sold and promoted at Bob Jones University (BJU) for many years now. Pensacola Christian College wickedly bids Godspeed to BJU and their corrupt graduates. Tragically, so also does the corrupt Sword of the Lord wickedly bid Godspeed to these ungodly institutions. Sadly, hardly anybody cares anymore about sound doctrine. RIGHT DOCTRINE MATTERS!!!

PCC and BJU are so caught up in making more money that their priorities are all wrong. PCC cannot even get the Gospel right. Like PCC today, BJU is a cesspool of Lordship Salvation. As I have shown you, the ERV and ESV are toxic. They have perverted God's inspired Words to say that God protects the saints instead of His very pure Word. I triple-dog dare you to check Psalms 12:6-7 in any modern Bible perversion and you will see that they are corrupt. Please use only the inspired KING JAMES BIBLE.

The Hearing Of Faith

Galatians 3:2, “This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?”

I love this Bible passage from Galatians 3:2. The Apostle Paul asked the churches of Galatia one thing—how did you become indwelt with the Holy Spirit? That is, how did you get saved? Was it by keeping the works of Moses law? Or was it by simply by believing the Gospel when you heard it preached? I love that beautiful phrase, "by the hearing of faith." That is how 3,000 people were saved on the Day of Pentecost—they simply heard the Apostle Peter preach the Gospel (Good News) of Jesus Christ and "gladly received" the message and were saved (Acts 2:41).

We read in Hebrews 4:2 that Moses preached the Gospel to the Hebrews in the Wilderness for 40 years, “but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.”
They heard the Good News but had no faith in what Moses heard preached.

I love these Scripture passages, because they show the simplicity that is in Christ. You simply believe the Gospel when you hear it, and that's it. No one was required to forsake a lifestyle of sinning. No one was required to "be willing" to clean up their life and forsake past sinful behavior. No one was required to get water baptized, make public confession, become a Christ follower, live a lifestyle of perpetually turning from sinning, invite Jesus into your life, surrender to Jesus as "Lord" of your life, nor anything else.

You simply HEAR the Gospel (whether read or spoken) and BELIEVE IT, and you are on your way to Heaven. Men complicate God's simple plan of salvation.

If you read Acts chapter 10 about the Italian centurion Cornelius, you will learn that he was a good man (as far as sinners go). Cornelius feared God, prayed, fasted and gave alms to the poor, but he was still lost in his sins. So God arranged for Cornelius and the Apostle Peter to meet up, and they did later in the chapter. Peter simply preached the truth of the Gospel. Peter never told Cornelius and his friends to do anything to be saved. Peter simply preached the Gospel message and they believed what they heard and were saved (Acts 10:43-44). That is how anybody gets saved, by believing the Gospel when we hear it.

All of these bad preachers today (infidels) who are telling people to "turn from your sins" to be saved are preaching another gospel. I am astonished how most preachers today are preaching an embellishment of the Gospel, lying to their audience, saying things that cannot be supported with the inspired Scripture. This is the dire consequence of repeating things which they have heard peers in the ministry errantly teach and preach. Jesus told us to SEARCH THE SCRIPTURES!!! (John 5:39).

Beware Of Drinking Alcohol: Liquid Devil

Proverbs 20:1, “Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise.”

I found a very interesting article today at, showing the average lifetime of money spent for alcohol in different cities across the United States. ...

As the chart shows, the average amount of money spent in New York, New York is $121,383.24 over a lifetime. The least amount spent is $57,838.55 over a lifetime in Birmingham, Alabama. I have them all beat, I haven't spent a single penny in the 56 years that I've been alive to buy alcohol to drink. I thank God that I've never tried beer! I've never been drunk. I've never drank a sip of Vodka. I grew up around Skid Row, since my father was a Gospel preacher to Skid Row in downtown Chicago. I grew up tagging along with my father, who preached regularly at Pacific Garden Mission.

I humbly do not think it is a sin to drink alcohol. I sometimes drink a cup of Nyquil to help me sleep on rough days, which contains 10% alcohol. This is medicine (1st Timothy 5:23). In New Testament times they didn't have a CVS or Walgreens on the corner as we are blessed to have all across the United States. Pastor Jerry Falwell (1933-2007) called Nyquil “Baptist wine.” I like that. Dr. Falwell said that because many Christians drink Nyquil to get the same sedating effects of alcoholic beverages. Since I don't drink booze, Nyquil really helps me sleep on nights when I need it, for which I am thankful.

Having said that, we do know biblically that drunkenness is a sin. In fact, the Bible warns that drunkards will not be permitted to enter into God's Kingdom (1st Corinthians 6:19-10). Ah, but please notice verse 11, “but ye are washed...” The day you got saved, if you are a born-again child of God, all of your sins (past, present and future) were all forgiven and washed away by the precious blood of Jesus (1st Peter 1:18-19).

I humbly think it is a wise decision for every Christian to abstain from drinking alcoholic beverages. You cannot take two drinks if you don't take the first. That is good wisdom! You cannot become a drunkard or inebriated if you don't take the first sip of booze. I thank God. I thank God! I thank God that I have never started drinking beer. Most people can handle it, but you don't know how your body and mind will handle booze until time passes. It only takes one time to mess up! I could tell you dozens of true stories about famous people who had drank beer for 20 years, but then one unfortunate night they killed someone while under the influence (DUI) of drinking alcohol and then driving a vehicle.

One middle-aged man that comes to mind was a famous news journalist who worked for WGN television in Chicago. This incident happened in 2004. He was arrested for drunk driving when he went through a stop sign and crashed his car. A few years later he was arrested again for another DUI. He had drank booze for decades without an incident. The lesson to be learned is that a wise person avoids drinking booze. I thank God I have never drank any beer or whiskey.

Be Careful What Advice You Take From Others

Esther 5:9-14, “Then went Haman forth that day joyful and with a glad heart: but when Haman saw Mordecai in the king's gate, that he stood not up, nor moved for him, he was full of indignation against Mordecai. Nevertheless Haman refrained himself: and when he came home, he sent and called for his friends, and Zeresh his wife. And Haman told them of the glory of his riches, and the multitude of his children, and all the things wherein the king had promoted him, and how he had advanced him above the princes and servants of the king. Haman said moreover, Yea, Esther the queen did let no man come in with the king unto the banquet that she had prepared but myself; and to morrow am I invited unto her also with the king. Yet all this availeth me nothing, so long as I see Mordecai the Jew sitting at the king's gate. Then said Zeresh his wife and all his friends unto him, Let a gallows be made of fifty cubits high, and tomorrow speak thou unto the king that Mordecai may be hanged thereon: then go thou in merrily with the king unto the banquet.  And the thing pleased Haman; and he caused the gallows to be made.

What wicked people! Mordecai, Esther's cousin, had done absolutely nothing wrong. He merely refused to bow in obeisance as Haman passed by, for which Haman hated Mordecai. So as Haman was complaining about the matter at home, his ungodly wife Zeresh and family friends which they had invited, suggested that Haman erect a 75 foot tall gallows upon which to hang Haman. He liked the idea and built the gallows. Look what they said...
Esther 5:14, “Then said Zeresh his wife and all his friends unto him, Let a gallows be made of fifty cubits high, and tomorrow speak thou unto the king that Mordecai may be hanged thereon: then go thou in merrily with the king unto the banquet.  And the thing pleased Haman; and he caused the gallows to be made.
Wow, that is disgusting! Haman's wicked wife and horrible family friends told him to convince the king to hang Mordecai (an innocent man), and then go have a good time at the party that Esther invited him to. Haman loved the idea and ordered the gallows to be built right away. Proverbs 26:27, “Whoso diggeth a pit shall fall therein: and he that rolleth a stone, it will return upon him.

In this Bible story we can learn some valuable truths:
  1. What goes around comes around. Haman conspired to murder an innocent man, but it backfired on him. This is poetic justice at its finest! The Bible warns in Galatians 6:7 that what men reap they will sow. With whatever measure we judge men, we shall be judged by that same measure (Matthew 7:1-2).
  2. Be very careful what advice you take from family and friends, because it could cost you everything! Haman's foolish wife Zeresh didn't hesitate to give hateful ungodly advice to her husband, to have an innocent Jewish man killed. Little did she know that not only would her husband be hung by the king on that 75 foot high gallows, but also HER 10 SONS (Esther 9:25). Mrs. Haman spent the rest of her life in regret, wishing she had never opened her mouth to give such ungodly advice to her husband. One wrong bit of advice could cost you everything!!!
  3. Idiots are quick to give bad advice when it won't adversely affect them. Those wicked friends of Zeresh and Haman had nothing to lose by giving such wicked advice to them. Ultimately, Zeresh's and Haman's 10 sons were all killed, and then Haman himself. It burns me up when fools advise friends and family to file for divorce. Woe unto the person who encourages, nurtures or helps someone get a divorce. God hates divorce (Jeremiah 3:20). Marriage is sacred ground in God's sight. Divorce and remarriage is adultery (Matthew 19:9; Hebrews 13:4). Human sinful nature is to selfishly take sides with friends when marital troubles arise, and not care about the unknown spouse; that is sinful and meddlers will be judged by God (Matthew 19:6). It is very easy to help destroy someone else's marriage, when it won't affect you adversely in the least.
  4. Be very careful who you choose to keep as friends. I would rather have no friends than bad friends. Loneliness will be the worst of your problems if you make losers for friends. People can and will become your worst enemy if you foolishly choose to closely associate with worldly sinners. In 2nd Samuel 13:3 the Bible tells us that David's son, Amnon “had a friend.” That ungodly friend ruined Ammon's life, which ultimately led to Amnon's murder by Absalom. Bad friends will ruin you!
  5. Be very careful who you get into a vehicle with. I am reminded of a tragic incident in 2021 that happened in Georgia. A 25 year old black man named Ahmaud Arbery had been shot to death, when he was confronted by a father and son, along with a neighbour. I feel so bad for the neighbor, William Bryan, because his only fault was getting into the truth with his neighbours. Mr. Bryan was just in the wrong place at the right time, walking in front of his house. The father and son had invited for him to join them, so Bryan hopped into the truck; but by being with his two neighbors he became an accomplice. Be very careful who you get into a vehicle with, because if they commit a crime you will be prosecuted as an accomplice just for being present! Although William Bryan made no racist comments or killed anybody, he was sentenced to 40 years in prison just for being present. That is injustice in my humble opinion. Public pressure from Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, the black community and liberal newsmedia ensured that the 3 defendants didn't receive a fair trial (and they simply didn't, “Principles Of Justice” sermon by Pastor Steven Anderson).
  6. Married women belong at home, not in the workplace. This point has nothing to do with this blog, per se. However, it is related to the topic at hand of being careful about making bad friends. I heard the true story of a married woman who met a man at work. They began an adulterous affair. The woman's jealous husband murdered his wife and was then sentenced to life in prison. The wicked adulterous man at work walked away scot-free! If I had the legal power to do so, that adulterous co-worker would be serving life behind bars with the husband! Thankfully, God will make that ungodly co-worker wish he had never been born in eternity. No one can escape the judgment of God (Hebrews 4:13, 13:4; Romans 1:32; Ecclesiastes 12:14). Call me old-fashioned (and I am), but I firmly believe that all married women belong at home working as homemakers.
Haman had wickedly plotted against the Jews to murder them all. So the king, in a righteous act of justice, returned that same evil upon Haman's own head. ...
Esther 9:23-26a “And the Jews undertook to do as they had begun, and as Mordecai had written unto them; Because Haman the son of Hammedatha, the Agagite, the enemy of all the Jews, had devised against the Jews to destroy them, and had cast Pur, that is, the lot, to consume them, and to destroy them; But when Esther came before the king, he commanded by letters that his wicked device, which he devised against the Jews, should return upon his own head, and that he and his sons should be hanged on the gallows Wherefore they called these days Purim after the name of Pur. ...”
Haman was a very wicked person. His wife was a very wicked person. Their friends were very wicked people. They had all conspired to murder an innocent man, Mordecai. The main truth that I want you to take away from this tragic story in the Bible, is that Haman's wife Zeresh came up with the idea to build a gallows 75 feet high to hang Mortdecai on. Their friends loved the idea and told Haman that he should do it. But Zeresh would live to rue the day she made that suggestion to her husband, when Haman and her 10 sons were all hung on that very same gallows. So be very careful of the advice that you give to others, and the advice that you take from them. Thank you for reading my blog and God bless. Jesus is precious!!!

Beware Of Billy Graham's Counterfeit New Birth

1st Corinthians 15:1-6, “Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep.”

I ran across a website today called, which says it is a ministry of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA). On their website the following demonic heresy is what they teach you must do to be born again...
So how can we be born again?

First, we must admit our sin—that we can’t live up to God’s perfect standard on our own. Then we must ask forgiveness for that sin and repent, which means to make every effort in turning away from that sin. Finally, we ask Jesus to be part of our lives.

That’s when God’s Spirit penetrates our hearts to guide us and help us be more like Him. That’s when we’re born again. [emphasis added]
SOURCE: What Does It Mean To Be Born Again?
Where does the inspired Holy Bible tells us to “make every effort in turning away from sin” to be born again? That is, to get to Heaven? It doesn't. Also, where does the Word of God tell us to ask Jesus to be part of our life to be saved? Billy Graham and his followers are hellbound infidels, imposters who masquerade as children of God. What you just read is a false plan of salvation which cannot produce the new birth in Christ.

Our text passage of Scripture plainly defines “the gospel as three things:
  1. Jesus DIED on a cross to pay our debt of sin.
  2. Jesus was BURIED.
  3. Jesus bodily RESURRECTED three days later from the dead.
The only prerequisite necessary to believe the Gospel is to admit you are a guilty sinner, because you need to know what your being saved from. You are a sinner and so am I (Romans 3:10-23). There is a penalty (wages) for our sins, which is death (Romans 6:23). This includes a second death in the Lake of Fire forever (Revelation 20:11-15, 21:8). The Bad News is that we are all guilty sinners deserving of being punished in the fires and torments of Hell forever. The Good News is that God sent His only begotten Son, Jesus, into the world to die on a cross for our sins, to make a way of escape through His shed blood (Romans 5:9).

Biblically, you don't have to turn from your sins to go to Heaven; but rather, Christ died on the cross to pay your debt of sin and mine. Jesus fully bore the weight and curse of our sins, so that we don't have to. The Devil's fallacy of Lordship Salvation (which Billy Graham and his followers errantly preach) places the weight and burden of sin upon the sinner instead, which is an impossible burden to bear. Who can turn away from their sinning? That's right, no one. Psalms 130:3, “If thou, LORD, shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand?

Like Billy Graham, Pensacola Christian College (PCC) Perverts The Gospel

I am astonished and deeply frustrated that so many Baptist preachers today ignorantly bid Godspeed to Billy and Franklin Graham. Particularly, the Pensacola Christian College (PCC) cult is guilty. There's an old adage that says: If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything. There is much truth to that. He that is not zealous against error, is not likely to be zealous for the truth. PCC are not zealous to expose error. They refuse to contend for the faith or step on anybody's toes (e.g., PCC won't expose the Bob Jones University (BJU) cult for preaching another gospel of Lordship Salvation, or for their use of the Devil's corrupt Bible revisions, et cetera).

Consequently, the churches that associate with PCC rarely rise about cult headquarters, so they don't contend for the faith either. I am not aware of even one PCC alumni or associated church who zealously exposes error and rebukes false teachers today (Titus 1:13-14). They just go along to get along and play church, collecting a minister's salary, and criticizing preachers like me who do contend for the faith and expose false prophets. I know God is on my side because I am preaching THE TRUTH. Like BJU, PCC is wrong on the Gospel.

Billy Graham's Ministry Wrongly Understand The New Birth

Here is what they claim it means to be “born again...
That’s when God’s Spirit penetrates our hearts to guide us and help us be more like Him. That’s when we’re born again.
SOURCE: What Does It Mean To Be Born Again?
That is NOT what it means to be born again. The Bible says when Adam sinned he opened the floodgate of sin into the world, and by sin came death upon all men (Romans 5:12). Consequently, every human being born since Adam has been born with a sin nature. We are all sinners by nature and by choice. The greatest sin, next to rejecting Christ as one's Savior, is to condemn another sinner (Matthew 7:1-5). There but for the grace of God go I.

Ephesians 2:1 teaches that we were all born “dead in trespasses and sins. We were all born spiritually dead. This is different than the second death, when a lost sinner goes to Hell. The first birth is the physical birth, by flesh and water (John 3:5). A baby spends 9 months in its mother's water bag during development, and then the water bag breaks when ready to be born into the world. Jesus also spoke in John 3:6 of being born of the spirit, that is, born anew by the Holy Spirit of God. This is a supernatural miracle in response to a sinner's faith in Jesus Christ. In theology this is called regeneration.

When a man is born again, his spirit which was dead is now made alive by the Holy Spirit of God (i.e., quickened). Ephesians 2:4-7, “But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.” To be born again means that you have been sealed and indwelt by God's Holy Spirit (Ephesians 1:13-14).

Being “born again” has nothing to do with our behavior changing. Billy Graham's ministry is very wrong when they teach that the birth is “when God’s Spirit penetrates our hearts to guide us and help us be more like Him.” Our heart changing more like God's heart is NOT being born again. Your spirit was dead from birth. That is why we all need to be reborn by the Spirit of God, so that we will be spiritually alive in God. The natural (or unsaved) person is spiritually lifeless and cannot understand or discern the things of God (1st Corinthians 2:14-16).

The unsaved heathen world cannot perceive the Holy Spirit because they do not know Him. That is, because they reject Jesus Christ as their Savior they have not been born-again; therefore, they do not have the indwelling Holy Spirit, nor can they see Him. John 14:17, “Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

Pastor Jack Hyles correctly taught that to be “born again” means to have He (Jesus) who is the beginning, born in you. Romans 8:9, “But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.” I love this Scripture, which calls the Holy Spirit, the “Spirit of Christ” in you. God the Father and God the Son, live inside every saint in the form of God the Spirit. John 14:23, “Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.”

Sadly, evangelist Ray Comfort, who is an unsaved false prophet, also has a wrong understanding of what it means to be born again. Since these religious infidels are not genuine born-again Christians, and do not have the indwelling Holy Spirit, they cannot understand the new birth. They all associate the new birth with a radical change of attitude and behavior, instead of the presence of God's blessed Holy Spirit.

Billy And Franklin Graham Are Unsaved False Prophets

I mean no unkindness, God knows my heart. I am strictly going by what the Holy Bible teaches. There is nothing in the inspired King James Bible which teaches to “make every effort in turning away from sin” and to “ask Jesus to be part of our lives” to be saved? Billy Graham and company ADDED those extra requirements to God's simple plan of salvation. What saith the Scripture? Proverbs 30:5-6, “Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him. Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.” I didn't add to God's Words, the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association wickedly did. I didn't add to God's Words, Pensacola Christian College and their ungodly Campus Church wickedly did.

According to Billy Graham and his ministry today, to be saved you must:
  1. Ask forgiveness for sins
  2. Make every effort in turning away from sin
  3. Ask Jesus to be part of our lives
I triple-dog dare you dear reader to show me any of that tommyrot, balderdash, tomfoolery or poppycock in the Holy Bible. You cannot! The Bible says that the Ninevites turning from their evil ways at the preaching of Jonah. God called it “works. Jonah 3:10, “And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them; and he did it not. Also, carefully notice in Jonah 3:10 that God Himself repented. That is, God changed His mind not to destroy the Ninevites. We know that God is incapable of committing evil (James 1:13). So, if repentance concerning salvation means to turn from your sins,” then how did God repent, since He cannot sin? Obviously, all those “repent of your sin” preachers are misguided, deceived and wrong.

True repentance has nothing to do with “turning from sin” and everything to do with “acknowledging one's sinfulness” (Romans 3:19-20). Like the thief on the cross who simply acknowledged his sinfulness (Luke 23:39-43), the only part a person has in salvation is the beggar's part. Faith is the only righteous thing that I can do.

May I remind your dear reader that Judas Iscariot was a part of Jesus' life, but that didn't save him from the pits of Hell beneath. Judas was one of Christ's very chosen apostles, yet went to Hell. Judas repented (Matthew 27:3). That is, he turned from his sins. This is reformation, not true repentance toward God (Acts 20:21). In fact, Matthew 27:3 even says that Judas returned to 30 pieces of silver, which he had been paid to betray Christ to death. This is penance, not true repentance toward God. Judas felt remorse for betraying an innocent man (Matthew 27:4). This is penitence, not true repentance toward God. Judas never changed his mind about himself, to admit that he is a guilty sinner. Nor did Judas change his mind about Jesus, to admit that He is the Christ, the Savior. Judas went to Hell in his sins without Christ.

We also see in Matthew 7:21-23 that a group of followers of Jesus went to Hell. They boasted of having done “many wonderful works,” but they had never put their faith in Christ alone (John 6:40). The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association has done “many wonderful works” for several decades now (since 1950 when they began), but they have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God (Romans 10:3-4). You don't “make every effort in turning away from sin” and to “ask Jesus to be part of our lives” to get to Heaven.

Christian author Michael P. Bowen offers these helpful words to expose Billy Graham's counterfeit plan of salvation...
Billy says that we must repent of our sins and attempts to provide examples from the bible that suggest we are supposed to repent of our sins in order to be born again; however, his examples are weak and hold no truth at all because the bible “never” tells us to quit sinning in order to be saved; in fact, the phrase “repent of sin” does not even occur in the bible. Billy often refers to the Greek word for repent which is metanoia, which he erroneously defines as turning away from our sins, to feel sorry for our sins, that we should change our minds about sin and walk away from it altogether as a “requirement” for our being born again. Very often, as a way of telling us that we have to quit willfully and deliberately sinning in order to be born again, he will refer to where Jesus said in Luke 13:3 that we must repent or perish, yet in the original Greek manuscript, the word for repent means to change your mind and has nothing at all to do with turning from sins. —Michael P. Bowen, “I Never Knew You,” p. 137
To be saved you receive Christ's sacrifice on the cross as full payment for your sins, believing that He died, was buried and then physically raised up from the dead three days later. This is “the gospel” according to 1st Corinthians 15:1-4. Why does the BGEA preach a different plan of salvation than the simple one taught in the inspired Word of God?

Pastor Brad Strand Gets Repentance 100% Correct

2nd Corinthians 7:8-10, “For though I made you sorry with a letter, I do not repent, though I did repent: for I perceive that the same epistle hath made you sorry, though it were but for a season. Now I rejoice, not that ye were made sorry, but that ye sorrowed to repentance: for ye were made sorry after a godly manner, that ye might receive damage by us in nothing.”

One of my favorite Bible teachers is Pastor Brad Strand. I recently purchased his 'The Strand Study Bible.' I love it so much that I bought two of them! Here is Brother Strand's commentary for our text passage from 2nd Corinthians 7:8...
Repentance may include “remorse” (made you sorry), but remorse is not repentance. If so, then Judas repented because he was remorseful over what he had done to Christ (Mt 27:3). You can weep over sin and even express great remorse, but until you “change your mind” as to who you are and who Christ is and agree with God (Mt 3:2), you have not repented biblically.
Repentance may include “sorrow (you were made sorry), but sorrow for sin is not repentance. Hell is full or sorrow, but only for the consequences of sin. The rich man who died and went to Hell uttered not a word of sorrow for his sin, only sorrow for his pain (Lk 16:19-31). You can weep over sin and even express great regret, but until you “change your mind” as to who you are and who Christ is and agree with God, you have not repented biblically.
Repentance may include “conviction” (after a godly manner), but conviction is not repentance. If so, then Felix repented when he trembled before Paul (Acts 24:24-25). You may be convicted that you are a sinner and even admit that you are lost, but repentance is a two-sided coin. You not only have to “change your mind as to who you are, you have to also “change your mind” as to who Christ is and call upon Him to be your Savior (Rom 10:9-13). Otherwise, you have not repented biblically.

I am so thankful for Pastor Strand, that he is one of few preachers today who gets repentance correct. Pastor Jack Hyles (1926-2001), in a sermon titled “A Vote For Preaching,” spoke in this excerpt about the false gospel of Lordship Salvation which is unfortunately being preached from nearly every pulpit today. RIGHT DOCTRINE MATTERS!!!

Brother Strand writes this about the next verse from 2nd Corinthians 7:10...
This word (repentance) comes from a combination of two Greek words: (meta - meaning, “after”) and (noeo - meaning, “mind”). The word literally means, “to change ones mind; to perceive afterwards; to change what you believe and agree with God” (Mt 3:2).
Metanoeo is used 58 times in the New Testament. It is used three different ways:

  1. It is used 37 times concerning the lost.
  2. It is used 17 times concerning the saved.
  3. It is used 4 times concerning the lost during the Tribulation Period.

NOTE: True repentance has nothing to do with “turning from sin” and everything to do with “acknowledging one's sinfulness” (Jonah 3:5). Like the thief on the cross who simply acknowledged his sinfulness (Lk 23:39-43), the only part a person has in salvation is the beggar's part. If repentance means to “turn from sin and change one's life,” then did God sin when He repented (Jonah 3:10)? I think not. Telling a sinner that he must “turn from sin” before receiving salvation gives a false view of salvation, and is but another form of “works.” Ephesians 2:8-9 is clear:
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Repentance for salvation does not require a person to “clean himself up first” (i.e., “turn from his sin”).

THE ADAGE IS TRUE: You come to God as a sinner; you don't come to God as a “sinless” sinner.

I cannot thank Pastor Strand enough for siding with and proclaiming THE TRUTH of God's inspired Word, and not just going along to get along with the common consensus nowadays (for the sake of acceptance by ministry peers), that turning from sin is required to be saved. Humbly said, I am so proud of Pastor Strand in the Lord. Those who seek the truth will find it. All of the preachers today who are going around perverting the Gospel of free grace, by embellishing it with unbiblical additions (e.g., “turn from your sins” to be saved), are pulling on the same rope as the Devil.

Beware Of Pensacola Christian College's False Gospel

Case in point, please take a look at the ungodly damnable heresy being taught at Pensacola Christian College (PCC) today. I live in the city of Pensacola. In my mailbox (in November of 2023) I found a stamped envelope from Campus Church with my address and the words, “To Our Neighbor” on it. I opened the envelope and inside I found a booklet of John & Romans. The booklet has 64 pages in it. The Campus Church logo is printed on the front cover.

I was shocked on page 60 when I read PCC's counterfeit plan of salvation. What I am about to show you is straight from Satan dear reader:
“REPENTANCE — Now is the time to turn from your sin and embrace God. The act of turning away from sin is called 'repentance.' This word implies an inward decision to follow and obey God's will instead of your self-serving sins. It means changing your mind about sin and seeing it as something that grieves God. The Bible says that God patiently waits for all people to make this decision.” [emphasis added]

SOURCE: “John & Romans,” Campus Church at Pensacola Christian College, p. 60
Do you still think I bumped my head? Carefully notice that PCC's Campus Church requires sinners to turn away from “The act” of sinning to be saved. THAT IS WORKS!!! If you don't see that, then you need to be saved dear reader. The only “act” that I am trusting in to get to Heaven is the death, burial and bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ. Salvation is not doing your best, it is having Christ's best put to your account through receiving Him by faith. The true Gospel always points you to CHRIST; a false gospel always points to YOU.

I've been exposing the cult at Bob Jones University (BJU) since 2014, and now I have been exposing the cult at Pensacola Christian College (PCC) since 2021. By God's grace, I will continue to expose these wicked organizations. I know that some people will think I have an unchristlike spirit, but dear friend, my spirit is exactly like Christ's concerning false teaching that damns lost sinners to an eternal Hell.

Jesus called the religious Pharisees “evil” and vipers” (snakes) in Matthew 12:34. The dear Savior didn't hold back from voicing His opinion. Jesus came right out and accused the Pharisees of being blind leaders who lead the blind (the lost) in Matthew 15:14. He called them hypocrites.
Matthew 23:13-14, But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in. Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour widows' houses, and for a pretence make long prayer: therefore ye shall receive the greater damnation.” Matthew 23:17, Ye fools and blind: for whether is greater, the gold, or the temple that sanctifieth the gold?”
Pensacola Christian College (PCC) today looks wonderful from the outside, but inside they are a rotting corpse. They sing lots of pretty religious music in their chapel services, but they have not been born-again by faith alone in Christ alone. ...
Matthew 23:27-28, Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men's bones, and of all uncleanness. Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.
On page 62 of the “John & Romans” booklet distributed by PCC, Campus Church requires this of lost sinners to be saved...
“I repent of my sins. I realize that sin is something that God hates and I no longer want to hold onto sinful bad habits.” [emphasis added]

SOURCE: “John & Romans,” Campus Church at Pensacola Christian College, p. 62
Oh My! Folks, this is NOT part of the free grace Gospel which the Apostle Paul preached in 1st Corinthians 15:1-4...
1st Corinthians15:1-4, “Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
There you have it! The “Gospel” is the “GOOD NEWS” that Jesus Christ DIED on a cross for our sins, He was BURIED and after three days He physically RESURRECTED from the dead. In Paul's Gospel (which Paul said he received directly from Jesus in Galatians 1:12), did you see anything that reads: “follow and obey God's will instead of your self-serving sins”? No, that is not what Jesus and Paul taught. So why is PCC and their Campus Church promoting this unbiblical filth and tommyrot?

The only requirement to believe the Gospel is to know why you need to be saved? You need to know what you're being saved from. You are a guilty sinner, and so am I. Pastor Strand nailed it...
True repentance has nothing to do with “turning from sin” and everything to do with “acknowledging one's sinfulness” (Jonah 3:5). Like the thief on the cross who simply acknowledged his sinfulness (Lk 23:39-43), the only part a person has in salvation is the beggar's part.

Pastor Harry Ironside Gets Repentance 100% Correct

Another one of my favorite doctrinally sound preachers is Pastor Harry Ironside (1876-1951). To help you dear reader understand this important topic of Bible repentance, I wanted to share some doctrinally sound teachings from other men of God who rightly divide (2nd Timothy 2:15) the Word of Truth. Pastor Ironside said:
"Repentance is the recognition of my sinnership—the owning before God that I am as vile as He has declared me to be in His holy Word."

SOURCE: 'Except Ye Repent,' by Dr. Harry Ironside, chapter 3
Amen and amen! What Brother Ironside just said is vastly different than turning from one's sinful bad habits to be saved, which is a false gospel rooted in works. Pastor Ironside is correct—repentance is simply acknowledging that one is a guilty sinner in God's eyes. This is why we need a Savior. Thankfully, Jesus paid the price with His own precious blood (1st Peter 1:18,19; Hebrews 9:12). Jesus paid a debt He did not owe, because we owed a debt we could not pay. JESUS PAID IT ALL!!!

No one has ever lived who didn't sin (Romans 3:10-23), except Jesus (Hebrews 4:15; 1st John 3:5). He is the perfect sinless Lamb of God (John 1:29). The Bibles teaches and warns that the wages we earn from our sinning is death (Romans 5:12, 6:23). This includes a second death in Hell, fire and brimstone forever (Revelation 20:11-15; 21:8). If you agree with God that you are a guilty sinner, deserving of Hell, then that is all you need to know to believe the GOOD NEWS that Jesus Christ died on a cross to pay for our sins, was buried and three days later He bodily raised up from the dead for our justification. BELIEVE THE GOOD NEWS, oh sinner, and you are saved!

Simply by faith receive Christ's sacrificial death on the cross as full payment for your sins, and believe that He was buried, but then physically resurrected after three days from the dead. This is “the gospel (the Good News) by which all who BELIEVE IT are immediately, irrevocably and permanently saved. Romans 1:16, For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

Pastor Mark Cambron Gets Repentance 100% Correct

Dr. Mark G. Cambron (1911-2000) was a doctrinally sound preacher. He had more education than any preacher I have ever known, with degrees in B.A., M.A., Th.B., Th.M., Th.D., D.D., L.L.D. and Litt.D. Wow! Dr. Cambron was one of the foremost theologians of his time. Born in Fayetteville, Tennessee on July 31, 1911, he was born-again in 1919. It was during a Billy Sunday campaign in Chattanooga that he trusted in the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Savior. Amen!

Here is an excellent and needful writing by Dr. Mark G. Cambron (1911-2000) on the subject of REPENTANCE. Please read the following quote carefully, because Dr. Cambron is one of few theologian who gets it, that is, he understands the simplicity of the Gospel and that repentance does not mean turning from sin as proponents of Lordship Salvation foolishly teach...
Repentance is necessary for salvation.

The Greek word for repent is metanoeo, which, translated into English is: to change ones mind. It does not mean to turn from sin. That would add works to salvation.

Repentance for salvation means a change of mind from men's ideas of salvation and religion, to an acceptance of God's only way of salvation.

This results in a completely new creation, not a reformation of the old. The old nature remains as evil as ever after salvation and has not been reformed . . . The old nature can now be controlled by the indwelling power of the Holy Spirit.

God guarantees salvation. This is His gift to us.
God guarantees reward and fruit to the obedient son.
God guarantees chastening and loss of rewards to the disobedient son.

God does not cast out disobedient children, but in some cases, does take them home. He does not permit His children to live as they please without His discipline and guidance.

Many teach repentance for salvation incorrectly, by including some form of human effort or righteousness, such as willingness to turn from sin, or turning from sin. This is heresy and has confused many people. It adds works to salvation and causes many to not understand Gods great gift. It is probation, not salvation. It is completely unscriptural. It is Galatianism and a counterfeit of the gospel.

It is a tragedy that many Christians live shallow Christian lives. The Cambron Institute is dedicated to the task of training Christian men and women in the importance of total dedication and making Jesus the Lord of their lives not to be saved but because they are saved.

Shallow Christianity cannot be cured by adding works to salvation.

Salvation is not the result of what we do, but is by receiving what God has done for us. Acts 13:38, 39; Acts 20:20: Gal. 1:8,9; Gal. 2:4; Gal. 2:21; Gal. 3:1.3; Gal. 5:1-4; Eph. 2:8-10; II Cor. 5:21;John 3:16-18; Phil. 3:9; Titus 3:5-8:11 Cor. 11:13-1 5.

Amen and amen. That is great stuff! It is refreshing to see a man with eight earned theological degrees who is correct on Bible repentance.

Repentance Is A Change Of Mind, Nothing More

I was so happy today when I learned that Pastor Strand is correct on repentance. It is becoming rare these days to find a Baptist preacher who is correct on repentance and the Gospel. Pastor Strand added these words to explain Bible repentance...

True repentance concerning salvation occurs whenever a person “changes his mind” (i.e., repents) concerning who he is. He is a sinner in need of salvation. According to Matthew 27:3, Judas did not repent (i.e., have regret) as to who he was (i.e., he was a sinner in need of salvation); he only regretted (i.e., repented) what he had done to an innocent man. Unfortunately, that is never enough to save a person from sin and sin's penalty (Hell). Until a person sees himself as being “sinfully” sick (Lk 5:31-32), he will never see his need for a “spiritual doctor” (i.e., the Savior). Our problem is not in what we do before God, but in what we are before God. The mistake Judas made was in “turning from his sin” (i.e., what he had done to an innocent man) instead of “changing his mind” about his sinfulness (i.e., the fact that he was a sinner in need of a Savior). Like the thief on the cross who never had the opportunity to “turn from his sin,” we, like him, can only “acknowledge our sinfulness” in order to be saved (Lk 23:40-41). True repentance for salvation occurs when we “change our mind” concerning two areas:

  1. Who we are (Lk 23:39-40) — We are sinners in need of salvation (Rom 5:6-8)
  2. Who Christ is (Lk 23:42) — Christ is God (Jn 5:17-18 & 8:24, 58-59 & 10:30-33) and our only Savior from sin (I Tim 3:16 & 4:10).

Boy, that is great stuff! That is life-changing truth! I am not kidding friend. When you learn the truth about repentance and the Gospel—knowing how simple God's plan of salvation really is and that it can all be yours completely for free; and you have received that free gift of eternal life by faith alone in Jesus Christ—it will produce unspeakable joy in your soul.

1st Peter 1:7-9, “That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.”

No believer will ever find the sweet peace and joy of being God's redeemed child, until you know beyond any shadow of a doubt that your name is written in Heaven, in the Lamb's Book of Life (Luke 10:20). As an acknowledged guilty sinner, by faith I received Christ's sacrifice on the cross as full payment for my sins at age 13. I called out in my soul to the risen Savior, casting my trust upon Him alone as my Savior. I thank God for the gift of His only begotten (biological) Son, Jesus, who with His precious blood paid my debt of sin (1st Peter 1:18-19).

God bless Brother Strand for rightly dividing the Word of Truth.
