God Uses Simple Plain Unknown People To Serve Him

Amos 7:12-15, “Also Amaziah said unto Amos, O thou seer, go, flee thee away into the land of Judah, and there eat bread, and prophesy there: But prophesy not again any more at Bethel: for it is the king's chapel, and it is the king's court. Then answered Amos, and said to Amaziah, I was no prophet, neither was I a prophet's son; but I was an herdman, and a gatherer of sycomore fruit: And the LORD took me as I followed the flock, and the LORD said unto me, Go, prophesy unto my people Israel.”

I love this story from the book of Amos in the Old Testament. Amos was a humble prophet to the northern nation of Israel. God sent Amos in 765 BC to preach to the city of Bethel with the message: “prepare to meet thy God, O Israel.” (Amos 4:12b). Time and time again God had sternly warned Israel to repent of her sins, but she refused. That prophecy of certain doom became a reality 44 years later in 721 BC when the northern kingdom was invaded, conquered and led away into captivity by Assyria.

Something that greatly intrigues me is that God didn't seek a man from the local religious college, priesthood or intelligencia of the day to preach His Word, the Lord came to a herdman who gathered sycamore fruit. Amos 7:14-15, “Then answered Amos, and said to Amaziah, I was no prophet, neither was I a prophet's son; but I was an herdman, and a gatherer of sycomore fruit: And the LORD took me as I followed the flock, and the LORD said unto me, Go, prophesy unto my people Israel.” I love that! Amos wasn't a preacher at all, nor was his father a preacher; and yet, God came to this humble shepherd and commissioned him to go preach the truth to a needy people, Israel.

It is interesting that Amos lived in Judah. God told the humble herdsman to go preach judgment to the northern kingdom. Amos went to Bethel up north. I find it very interesting that God didn't call a man from the northern kingdom. After Judas perished, the remaining apostles had chosen two men as candidates to replace Judas. When they asked God which man they should choose, God instead chose Saul who was infamous and feared for murdering Christians. So you see dear reader, God doesn't always do things that make sense to us. It would make better sense to us if God should have chose a preacher to go preach to Israel, but He didn't, the Lord chose to use a herdsman and gatherer of sycamore fruit.

Just like every truth-teller knows, there is always an enemy trying to silence us. The false prophet Amaziah was a troublemaker who attempted to silence Amos. Amos 7:12-13, “Also Amaziah said unto Amos, O thou seer, go, flee thee away into the land of Judah, and there eat bread, and prophesy there: But prophesy not again any more at Bethel: for it is the king's chapel, and it is the king's court.” Wicked Amaziah told Amos to go elsewhere!

Incidentally, that is the same exact wicked thing that Pastor Marty Herron said to me in 2014 at the shameful Harvest Baptist Church on Guam—a cesspool of fake bibles, Lordship Salvation, false prophets and wrong repentance! I befriended the pastors at Harvest Baptist Church with THE TRUTH. I bought several books by fundamentalist Bible preachers with my own money to help them see the truth, for which I was kicked out of their church (cult). Pastor Herron literally said to me concerning attending a church, “Go elsewhere!” Woe be unto him, not only for kicking me out of their church, but moreover, for rejecting THE TRUTH that I placed directly into his hands. These were the truthful books that I handed him:
  1. I Never Knew You (by Michael P. Bowen)
  2. Somebody's Got To Milk The Cows (Pastor Jack Hyles; here's the MP3 sermon)
  3. NIV: The Antichrist's Bible (Pastor Al Lacy)
  4. Martin Luther: Master Of Deceit (by Pastor Max D. Younce)
It is absolutely shocking that I was kicked out of Harvest Baptist Church in for sharing these four truthful books with their incompetent pastors. Pastor Herron's successor Gary Walton is just as bad, another wicked Lordship Salvation preaching fool. They are pulling on the same rope as the Devil at Harvest, preaching the exact same plan of salvation as the Seventh-Day Adventist cult. Just like wicked Amaziah rebuked and tried to silence the prophet Amos; so also did the wicked pastors at Harvest Baptist Church on Guam, Lighthouse Baptist Church on Guam, Campus Church at Pensacola Christian College, Family Baptist Church in Pensacola and other cults rebuke and try to silence me. I am not for sale! I WON'T SHUT UP!

I am just a nobody like Amos, but thank God that He uses nobodies to get the job done. Dear saint of God, the Lord is willing to make use of you if you are available and willing to serve.

When the Lord came to Moses and commanded him to deliver the Hebrews out of bondage in Egypt, Moses made numerous excuses. Exodus 4:1-2, “And Moses answered and said, But, behold, they will not believe me, nor hearken unto my voice: for they will say, The LORD hath not appeared unto thee. And the LORD said unto him, What is that in thine hand? And he said, A rod.” All Moses had was a rod in his hand. Yet, God used that rod to bring the Ten Plagues upon Egypt. God used that rod to part the Red Sea, so that the Hebrews could walk across on dry ground. God used that rod to bring forth water from the rock and many other divine miracles. God doesn't need your money, resources, skills or talents dear reader, but He will gladly make use of them if you will yield to His will.

Amos was a herdsman and a gatherer of sycamore fruit, yet God used him for His purpose and glory, to make an eternal impact for Heaven. I am a VOICE!
