Whatever Happened To Christmas?

Luke 2:8-12, “And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.”

First, let me say that I loathe the crazy people on social media who love to condemn anyone who dares to recognize Christmas as a holiday. I see nothing wrong, inappropriate or unbiblical about honoring the birth of our dear Savior, the only begotten Son of God, Jesus.

That being said, Christmas for most Americans has lost its true meaning because of the commercialization of Christmas by greedy corporations. The National Retail Federation predicts that retail sales in November and December 2025 will grow between 3.7% and 4.2% over 2024, totaling between $1.01 trillion and $1.02 trillion. This follows a 4.3% increase in 2024, reaching $976.1 billion. Wow! Americans spend a staggering one trillion dollars each year for Christmas. Great fluffy biscuits in the morning!

Few Christians realize just how wicked the world's version of celebrating of Christmas really is. From the blasphemous term “X-mas,” to the name of “Satan” rearranged to spell “Santa,” to the covetousness of the holiday, Christmas is no longer the Christ-honoring “holy day” (aka, holiday) that it was originally intended to be for Americans, which observed holiday began in the 4th century AD. The wicked world long ago decided to rid Christmas of Christ, thus “X-mas” was created. Only a dishonest ungodly fool would even dare try to legitimate such an insidious term. Christmas stopped feeling like Christmas in America a long time ago.

Unbelievably there are actually some fools who try to justify changing “Christ” into “X.” A woman emailed me, trying to prove that “X-mas” is an appropriate term to use. Nice try Devil! I love my Savior and would never dishonor His precious name by referring to Him as “X.” It is sinful to use the term “X-mas.” Remember, anything can be justified in the mind of a darn fool.

Singing Idolatrous Praises To A Christmas Tree

All I hear on the radio is praises being sung to Santa Claus, Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer, Little Saint Nick and a Christmas Tree. Below are the idolatrous lyrics to the song 'O CHRISTMAS TREE' (Glee's 2010 version!)...

If you can't see what's wrong with the above song, then you certainly need to get right with God. At Christmas time, the world sings praises to decorated pine trees. Few people realize that tree worship began in ancient heathen Babylon. Jeremiah 10:2 reads, “Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them. For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe. They deck it with silver and with gold...” The whole concept of decorating a tree at Christmas time is pagan in origin, not taught in the Word of God. Christmas is not taught in the Bible.

That being said, as a born again Christian I am also a normal and reasonable man. I see no harm in setting up a Christmas tree and decorating it to enjoy the holiday season each year, just so long as you don't bow down to worship or pray to the tree. I have heard fools try to use Jeremiah 10:2 to condemn having a Christmas tree, but that is poor theology. The Babylonian's worshipped their decorated trees. I have always exposed the wacky cult of Jehovah's Witnesses for forbidding their members to have a Christmas tree. That is ridiculous!

The inspired Holy Bible doesn't tell us the date when Jesus was born. It's not an issue with God. My guess is that God the Father didn't want men worshipping the day Jesus was born more than Christ Himself. No doubt that is why God buried Moses, lest the Jews worship his immortalized dead body (Deuteronomy 34:5-7).

The important message of Christmas is that God the Father sent His Son into the world to save sinners (John 3:16-17). The main truth of Christmas that we should recognize is the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Jesus is the Father's gift to humanity! Most heathens believe that a man named Jesus was born, but few believe that Jesus was almighty God in the flesh.

I've never heard so much disgraceful music as I've heard on the radio at Christmas time. It's sickening! Many Christmas songs have a rock music beat. Others are sang by known homosexuals. Some songs are sang so fast that it's utterly annoying. There's songs about wanting front teeth for Christmas, going on a sleigh ride, drinking hot chocolate—anything to remove Jesus Christ from the minds of people. It's so sad.

It's like a broken tooth and a foot out of joint to hear the despicable wicked entertainer Dolly Parton singing Christmas carols. In 1982 Dolly starred in a vile movie titled, 'The Best Little Whorehouse In Texas.' The ungodly movie is still highly sought by ungodly sinners today. Do you know what the movie is about? It is about a town sheriff and other regular patrons of a whorehouse, who fight to keep the whorehouse open when a TV preacher targets it as the Devil's playhouse. Dolly just re-recorded an old Led Zeppelin song, 'Stairway To Heaven.' Then there's Johnny Cash's Christmas album. Did you know Mr. Cash re-recorded two songs by Glenn Danzig, who is a creepy known Satanist? The world love their own (John 15:19).

In a music video, Glenn Danzig is seen spewing hatred for the Lord Jesus Christ while proudly wearing a logo that he designed for his band—a demon strangling Jesus Christ with blood gushing from Jesus' eyes! I'm not trying to be unkind, I'm just being honest when I tell you that Satan is infiltrating everything nowadays. No Christ-honoring Christian should listen to the music of Dolly Parton, Johnny Cash or any other entertainer who promotes Satan.

So, no thank you, I don't want to hear ungodly unrepentant sinners like Dolly Pardon and Johnny Cash sing Christmas songs about my blessed Savior. I would rather watch a dog poop on my lawn than listen to a wicked Satanic whore like Taylor Swift sing about her twisted version of Jesus at Christmas time. Taylor Swift is a daughter of her father the Devil.

The Clever Deception Of Satan Claus

The invention of Santa is pure evil. Santa Claus is wicked. Santa is of the Devil. Did you ever stop to realize that Santa Claus is a clone of the Lord Jesus, intended to replace Jesus in the minds of little children. Just as Jesus knows all, so does Santa. Santa knows if you've been bad or good, something that ONLY God could know (Proverb 15:3). Santa brings unlimited amounts of goodness and gifts to the world, but the Bible says that all good things come only from God (James 1:17). It is not a mere coincidence that Santa is omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent—all qualities which only God is capable of having.

Santa is always pictured as a jolly and righteous fellow, but ONLY Jesus is without sin (2nd Corinthians 5:17). Santa has superpowers: He is able to make reindeers fly, speak all languages, travel the entire world in one night, able to deliver billions of pounds of presents overnight; but the Bible teaches that ONLY the Lord Jesus Christ can do all things (Jeremiah 32:27). Santa also comes down a chimney, representing Christ who will return from above.

Clearly, everything about Santa Claus is a demonic imitation of our precious Savior. Santa Claus is the great imposter, a phony and a fake!!! This is why I call Santa, “Satan Claus.” Little children are extremely impressionable and gullibly do believe that Santa exists. The consequences of such wickedness is to effectively block Jesus Christ out of a child's mind. Little children spend thousands of hours during each year thinking about Satan Claus, while ignoring the Lord God Who created them. John 1:10, “He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.”

Dear parents, I am a father of four children myself. They are all grown now, in their thirties. I and my wife Alice have eight grandchildren. I believe it is okay to have fun with Santa Claus, just so long as you tell your children the truth upfront, not afterwards. Let them know truthfully that Santa Claus is fiction, but Jesus is real. On that basis you can enjoy the holidays, just so long as we don't lose sight of what Christmas is all about.

I don't know about you, but I love God and want His thoughts with me all the time. Here's one of my favorite Scriptures, which tells us perhaps why David was a man after God's own heart. Psalms 139:17, “How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them!” David loved God's thoughts! If you want God's heart, it must begin with God's thoughts. Oh how precious is the inspired and perfect King James Bible!!!

You can keep your lousy Christmas tree songs. I'll sing, 'O Jesus Christ!' I'll sing, 'Oh Word of God!' I'll sing, 'Oh Holy Spirit!' Meanwhile you can sing, 'Oh Christmas tree!'

Ingrates Worship Christmas Trees Instead of Jesus Christ ('Oh Christmas Tree' garbage)

There's nothing wrong or unbiblical with exchanging gifts at Christmas time. It's innocent fun. But please don't get caught up into the ungodly world's covetousness idea of Christmas. Christmas only becomes evil when you have forgotten the dear Savior, who is also our Creator (John 1:3 - King James Bible).
