Our Astonishingly Amazing Creator

God is truly more than amazing! Psalms 145:3, “Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised; and his greatness is unsearchable.”

Here are some amazing astronomy facts...
“While we are all likely familiar with the fact that Earth spins and orbits the sun, these are only two forms of motion that the Earth experiences. In addition to those two values, the Earth is also being carried around the Milky Way with the sun. Like all the planets, the sun also has an orbit. In the case of the sun, it orbits the center of the Milky Way Galaxy, and it carries the entire solar system along with it. At this very moment, the solar system is moving through the Milky Way at a speed of 448,000-miles per hour (720,000-kilometres per hour). While that may seem extraordinarily fast, it will still take the sun about 230-million years to orbit the galaxy.”

And more...
“Imagine you’re floating down a wide river. The current is strong and steady, but suddenly you notice you’re veering toward one side, as if something beneath the surface is dragging you toward it. That’s what’s happening with our galaxy. Astronomers have measured the motion of the Milky Way and found that it’s moving at an astonishing speed of about 600 kilometers per second (that’s over 1.3 million miles per hour!). But we’re not just coasting with the general flow of the universe’s expansion—we’re being drawn toward a specific direction in space [i.e., the Andromeda galaxy].
Wow, that is truly incredible!
➦ So, the earth spins on its axis at 1,037 mph
➦ The earth moves around the sun at 66,627 mph
➦ Our solar system moves though the Milky Way Galaxy at 448,000 mph
➦ Our Milky Way Galaxy is moving toward the Andromeda Galaxy at 1.3 million mph (and the Andromeda Galaxy is moving toward our Milky Way Galaxy at 250,000 mph).
The reason why we don't feel these movements is the same as riding in a speeding car. You don't feel the motion as long as the movement is consistent. If any of these movements ever suddenly stopped, it would be the end of life on earth. God is more than amazing!

Approximately 932,884 Earths can fit inside our sun, when considering the packing density of the planets. The commonly cited figure of 1.3 million is based on a theoretical calculation that doesn't account for the physical structure of the earth. Astronomers tell us that our sun is as a mere spec of sand on a beach in comparison to the universe. There are more stars in the universe than all the grains of sand on every beach
on earth. Think about that! There are an estimated 200 billion suns (stars) in our own Milky Way Galaxy. Scientists have so far determined that outside of our own Milky Way Galaxy there are at least 20 trillion other galaxies, each having hundreds of billions of suns!

The truth is that mankind simply does not know how big the universe is. Our technology and telescopes are limited. Astronomers talk about "close" stars that are a mind-numbing 20 light years away from earth. That is, you would have to travel at the speed of light (186,282 miles per second) for 20 years to get there! That's 670.7 million miles per hour! We're talking about "close" stars that are hundreds of trillions of miles away from earth. And those are just the suns that are our nearby neighbours. Truly, God's greatness is astoundingly beyond human comprehension.

Psalms 144:3, “LORD, what is man, that thou takest knowledge of him!  or the son of man, that thou makest account of him!
