1st John 4:14-17, “And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world. Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God. And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him. Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.”
I love this passage of Scripture. As Jesus is in Heaven, so are we in this world. That is, we (if you are saved) have the mind of Christ (1st Corinthians 2:16). We have the Holy Spirit of Christ indwelling us as believers (Romans 8:9). We are not mere reflectors of Jesus' love, we are portals through which God's love flows into this world around us. This is the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-25).
Life can become complicated, but the key to simplify life is to focus on one thing. Ecclesiastes 12:13, “Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.” I don't have hundreds of things to do in life, I have only one main thing to do, which is to FEAR GOD, AND KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS! This is the whole duty of a man.
My job as a Christian is to do what Jesus would do in my situation, which is to please God. Revelation 4:11, “Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.” I was created to please my Creator, and so were you dear reader! Let this be our proper mindset from day to day, moment to moment—to fear God, and keep His commandments. In everything that I do as a redeemed saint, my goal is to please my dear God, Lord and Savior. That simplifies my life.
I don't have dozens of things to do to make my marriage work—I just have one thing to do, which is to love and please my wife. I listen to her when she talks. Her words are important to me. It pleases the Lord when I am loving toward my wife. She doesn't always deserve my love, and I don't deserve her love, but neither did Jesus deserve to be crucified on a cross for our sins. Why did He do it? Hebrews 12:2, “Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.” Jesus looked forward with joy to being crucified on a cross, because He loved us and knew it would make eternal life freely available to anyone who wants it. THANK YOU JESUS!!!
1st John 4:17, “Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.” You are the only Jesus that someone knows! When Christ was in the world, He was the light of the world (John 8:12); but now that Jesus is gone to Heaven as our High Priest, we are the light of the world (Matthew 5:14). John 9:5, “As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.” This is why the Bible calls us “ambassadors” in 2nd Corinthians 5:20, because in Christ's absence we represent Him to this lost and dying world. God is love and those who know and walk in His Spirit are loving people.
I receive hundreds of emails from frustrated churchgoers, particularly Baptists, who have unfortunately experienced coldness, unkindness, indifference and hatred while attending churches. Sadly, most pastors woefully lack God's love for people. When I attended the shameful Smyrna Baptist Church in Pensacola, none of their pastors took the initiative to greet me for the first 4 months that I attended their church. That is inexcusable! It was only after 4 months that their youth pastor, who is a nice guy, finally came over to greet me. The other pastors are lousy clergy and should all be fired. The senior pastor Bill Adams is tough, but he is strength without beauty, denim without lace; that is not good for a pastor.
In August of 2024, I took the initiative to walk over to shake Pastor Adam's hand, but he rudely looked off at the wall. Most people would have just left and never come back again, but I contacted him to let him know he horribly disrespected and mistreated me as a human being. Although he did apologize, he completely ignored my heartfelt email explaining my broken life, health afflictions and need for his church's friendship. Bill Adams couldn't have cared less.
The next Sunday when I attended Smyrna Baptist Church, Pastor Adam's horrible wife walked over to shake my hand and then rudely dissed me on purpose, looking sharp right 45 degrees off at the wall. I was deeply hurt. I contacted her husband again, this time to ask why his wife was intentionally mistreating me, making it very obvious that I am not welcomed at Smyrna, Adams never replied. I contacted the church secretary as well, to make sure he got the message, but I was ignored again. This is the wicked type of shallow behavior prevalent in American churches today. Needless to say, but I will anyway, I never went back to Smyrna Baptist Church again and we are enemies to this day. I have given them many bad reviews on social media, which they deserve. People just want to be loved. You're not going to build a church by mistreating, dissing and hurting people deliberately. That is why Smyrna's main auditorium is 85% empty all the time!
Furthermore, Smyrna Baptist Church is WRONG on Bible repentance for salvation. They are preaching the same Satanic garbage as Pensacola Christian College (PCC), the religious cult where Pastor Adam's daughter attends school. Birds of a feather flock together! PCC, Smyrna and other local corrupt Baptist churches all preach the Satanic lie that repentance means to be willing to turn away from your sinning to get to Heaven. That is works according to Jonah 3:10, not God's free gift of grace which is by faith alone (Titus 3:5; Romans 4:4-7; Ephesians 2:8-9). As Satan is, so are these wicked pastors in the world.
We are living in the “perilous times” foretold in 2nd Timothy 3:1-7, when even church pastors have “a form of godliness, but denying the power” of the Gospel. Instead, they are preaching “another gospel” (2nd Corinthians 11:3-4) of partial faith in Christ plus being willing to give up your sinful lifestyle. That is a counterfeit plan of salvation! Shame on Pensacola Christian College, Family Baptist Church, Fairfield Drive Baptist Church, and Smyrna Baptist Church—all located in the city of Pensacola—who all pervert God's simple plan of salvation by teaching a wrong interpretation of Bible repentance.
1st John 4:17, “Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.” We are Christ's representatives in this dark world of sin. Therefore, we ought to preach right doctrine. Christian ladies ought not wear pants that identifies them with the sinful world. The world has no place in any local church. You and I may be the only Jesus that someone knows. Right doctrine matters. How we treat people matters. As Jesus is, so are we in this world dear friend. What do people see when they look at you? We have the mind of Christ (1st Corinthians 2:16), and Christ's mindset was one of helping others (Philippians 2:3-5). Christ's mindset was one of hating sin and falsehoods, and of loving righteousness and the sinner. Very few saints today desire to be like Jesus. Tragically, today's pastors are often the worst offenders! We need a whole new breed of Bible preachers in America. Thank you for reading my ministry blog.
