God Is More Than Amazing!

Song of Solomon 2:11-13, “For, lo, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone; The flowers appear on the earth; the time of the singing of birds is come, and the voice of the turtle is heard in our land; The fig tree putteth forth her green figs, and the vines with the tender grape give a good smell.  Arise, my love, my fair one, and come away.”

My neck pain has been unbearable yesterday and today. I caught a chest cold or something, which has made my neck pain much worse. My throat has been sore all day and my voice hoarse. The pain is so bad that it radiates into my face, causing sharp pain (especially behind my right eye). I have endured this horrible inexplicable physical suffering over the years, since 2004 when it began. I was hit by a church bus in 1992 (of all things), and then fell down at work in 2005, which worsened my existing injury. Over time my neck began to deteriorated, which medically is called Cervical Degenerative Disk Disease. It has been a dreary journey.

Anyway, to try to forget my woes, I went down to Home Depot last night to look at their flowers and took these pretty photos to share with you.

I have two palm trees in my front yard. They looked like they were dying. So I trimmed them yesterday. Here is the larger one, what it looked like before I trimmed it...

And here is what the palm tree looked like after I finished trimming it...

By pruning the dead branches and rogue ground foliage from the tree, it frees up valuable resources to help restore the tree's health. I also bought 2 packs of Palm Fertilizer Spikes from Walmart. I pounded 5 spikes into the ground in a circle around each tree, two feet away from the trunk, as the instructions specified. And then I watered both trees very well. Lord willing, hopefully in 3 months the two trees will be in much better robust health.

In the same way dear reader, sometimes God needs to prune our lives of the dead branches, which can be painful at the time, but ultimately it will make us healthier spiritually in the Lord. Hebrews 12:11, “Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.” Amen and amen. God is so good to all of us!

I planted these pretty flowers today outside my front door by the steps...

The yellow flowers are perennials and will rebloom each year. But the pretty red flowers are annuals, which will only bloom for this year and then die. Lord willing, each year I will replace them with something pretty. Our earthly life is as an annual flower, a one time shot. But eternal life is as a perennial flower plant that will live and bloom in perpetuity. John 10:27-28, “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
