The Precious And Highly Exalted Name Of Jesus

Acts 10:43, “To him [Christ] give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.”

They didn't know the name of “Jesus” in the Old testament, so how could they believe on His name? That is simple, they didn't need to know The Savior's actual name, they just needed to believe on the nameless Messiah. Christ was known by many different names in the Old Testament, but the spelling of His name was not what mattered. What mattered is that sinners believed on the coming prophesied Messiah, the Lamb of God who would take away the sins of the world (John 1:29).

The dear Savior has many names. Isaiah 9:6, “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counseller, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.” I love that! My favorite name for Jesus here is: “The Everlasting Father.” Jesus is the everlasting Father, and the everlasting Father is Jesus. That is, they are both equal members of the Godhead (aka, the “Trinity” in theology). The Godhead (or Trinity) is an absolute fundamental doctrine of the Christian faith. No one is saved who denies the Godhead, after being taught this truth from the inspired Word of God.

You don't have to be a theologian to be saved, you just need to know that Jesus is the virgin born Son of God, the Christ. When I got saved at age 13, I didn't know that Jesus is almighty God. I wasn't taught that Bible truth until I was age 18 while I attended Hyles-Anderson College (which my favorite preacher, Pastor Jack Hyles, started in 1972 to train young men and women to serve God full-time). I am an eternally grateful graduate of Hyles-Anderson College. I thank God and the dear saints at Hyles-Anderson who invested in me, so that I could effectively serve God today in the power of the Holy Spirit, not my own human strength. Zechariah 4:6, “Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.”

Mary And Joseph Commanded To Name God's Only Begotten Son, 'Jesus'

A few years ago there was a big ruckus on social media between Pastor Steven Anderson and Evangelist Sam Gipp. It got ugly and personal, especially with Sam Gipp, whom I humbly feel took some unfair cheap shots at Pastor Anderson. The conflict started when Sam Gipp quoted the following Bible verse, claiming that Mary and Joseph were NOT supposed to name the only begotten Son of God, “Jesus.” Sam Gipp teaches that Mary and Joseph were supposed to name Him, “Emmanuel.” Matthew 1:23, “Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

Unfortunately for Sam Gipp, Pastor Anderson strongly refuted him with Matthew 1:21, “And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.” We can see clearly throughout the New Testament that the only begotten Son of God went by the name of JESUS.” Kindly said, Sam Gipp is WRONG!!! ...

Sam Gipp Blasphemes the name of JESUS!!!

Jesus is the Name Exalted Above Every Other Name

The name of Jesus is not like any other name...
Philippians 2:9-11, “Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”
There is no other name as wonderful and highly exalted as the precious name of “JESUS.” Neither is there salvation found in Mary, Muhammad, Hara Krishna, Zoroaster, Confucius or any other name, but that of the precious name of JESUS CHRIST OF NAZAERETH...
Acts 4:10-12, “Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole.  This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
The only way to become an adopted child of God is through faith in Jesus' name...
John 1:12-13, “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.”
Amen and amen! No one has ever gone to Heaven who trusted in the Devil's Sacramental Salvation of Roman and Orthodox Catholicism. Salvation is found only through faith alone in Jesus Christ alone (Romans 10:3-4; Philippians 3:9).

Jesus is the Incarnate Word of God Made Flesh

Jesus is the Living Word, the inspired King James Bible is the Written Word. Dr. John R. Rice (1895-1980) rightly called Jesus and the Bible “twins.” How is a man a Book, or a Book a man? I cannot explain that truth...
John 1:1-3 and 14, In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. ...And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.”
Jesus is: THE WORD OF GOD!!! Revelation 19:13, “And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.” I cannot wrap my tiny brain around such a great truth, but I believe it. My humble thought about the matter is the common saying that: A man is only as good as his word. Likewise, God is only as good and trustworthy as His faithfulness to keep His Word (i.e., His promises). Mark 13:31, “Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.”

I am so thankful to God that He made His plan of salvation for humanity very clear in the Holy Bible, so that we can point to God's promises in the Bible. I KNOW that I am going to Heaven because in 1st Corinthians 1:21b, God promised “to save them that believe.” I believe that Jesus is the Christ, the only begotten Son of God. I believe the Good News (Gospel) that Jesus died on a cross to pay for my sins, and that He was buried, and after three days He physically resurrected in His glorified body (1st Corinthians 15:1-6). I realized as a 13-year-old body that I was a guilty sinner, but Jesus washed all my sins away by faith in Him, and now God the Father only sees the imputed righteousness of Christ when He looks at me (Philippians 3:9). Praise God!

Dear reader, think about what we have learned here. Jesus is THE WORD OF GOD!!! So why do churches use two dozen different English Bible versions today? If Jesus is the Word of God, then do we have two dozen different Jesuses? No, of course not. So what does this say? It plainly says (shouts in fact) that there can only be one true Bible in any particular language. There cannot be two Bibles! The man with two watches never knows what time it is, and the man with two Bible versions doesn't know what THE TRUTH is!!!
