1st Corinthians 15:1-4, “Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:”
The Apostle Paul plainly defines “THE GOSPEL” in our text passage. Christ died on the cross today for our sins. He was buried. Finally, three days later Jesus resurrected from the dead. You just read it for yourself! These three things comprise: “THE GOSPEL.” The Bible way to be saved is to simply admit that you are a guilty sinner in the sight of a holy God, and BELIEVE on Jesus Christ. Romans 3:23, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:” All you need to do to be saved, is to by faith receive the GOOD NEWS (Gospel) of Christ's sacrifice on the cross as payment for your sins, His burial and bodily resurrection three days later from the dead. This is what our text passage of Scripture teaches. You could stop reading here, and this article would be complete, per the title. Albeit, I'd like to teach you more for your edification dear friend. I love you with Christ's unconditional love, whoever you may be, and I sincerely to be a blessing.
Come to God as an admitted guilty sinner, and BELIEVE the Gospel (the Good News of Christ crucified, buried and risen for your sins) and you are saved. That's it dear reader! Once you put your childlike faith in Jesus Christ, accepting what God has written in His inspired Holy Bible about His only begotten Son, you are born-again. In The Gospel of John, we read that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God. In John chapters 19 and 20 we read about Christ's death on the cross, His burial and physical resurrection on Sunday morning, the third day. This is the Gospel (the Good News), by which whosoever BELIEVES IT is immediately, irrevocably and eternally saved. You have God's promise of it. Titus 1:2, “In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;”
The easy, free and simply way to be saved is found in 1st Corinthians 1:21, “For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.” When asked what “works of God” they must do to get into Heaven, Jesus replied that they should just BELIEVE ON HIM. John 6:28-29, “Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God? Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.”
So where in the world do these corrupt preachers today get the heretical FALSEHOODS that to get to Heaven, you must:
- walk an aisle
- pray a prayer
- join a church, denomination or convention
- turn from your sins
- repent of your sins
- be willing to turn away from sin
- feel sorrow for your sins
- forsake a lifestyle of sinning
- be baptized in water
- speak in “tongues”
- turn over a new leaf
- ask Christ into your heart
- invite Jesus into your life
- surrender your entire personality to Christ
- surrender all
- live a holy life
- live a changed life
- give control of your life over to Christ
- faithfully run the race
- count the cost and pay the price
- live a lifestyle of repentance from sins
- turn away from the old life
- follow Jesus no matter what the cost
- make Jesus the “Lord” (Master) of your life
- be sorrow for your sin
- confess Christ publicly
- keep the Sabbath Day
- keep God's Ten Commandments
- get rid of bad habits and vices
- ask Jesus into your heart
- have a religious experience
- feel hatred for sin
NONE of these things are required to get to Heaven. Yet, I can hardly listen to a sermon, or visit a church website, or watch a YouTube video, or hear a Bible college chapel service, or read a religious tract, or listen to religious radio, without seeing and hearing these unbiblical additions to God's simple plan of salvation, which are damnable heresy! True Bible salvation is by faith alone in the Gospel (Good News) of Jesus Christ crucified, buried and risen the third day (1st Corinthians 15:1-6). That's it, that's all, no more!
Carefully notice that the Apostle Paul didn't mention surrendering “all” to Christ. Paul didn't include turning away from your sinful ways, did he. Paul didn't tell the church at Corinth to faithfully “run the race” until the end of life, did he. By the way, that is the Calvinist heresy wickedly being preached by Dr. Steve Pettit at Bob Jones University since 2014 as their new president. God's curse is upon BJU today (Galatians 1:6-9). And shame on Pensacola Christian College for bidding Godspeed to the Bob Jones' camp (2nd John 1:11), refusing to refute their damnable heresy! Instead, PCC today sinfully hobnobs with the BJU camp, hiring each other's graduates and sending students to each other's schools to make money. It is wickedness!!!
If you foolishly think that Calvinism is an acceptable deviation from the free grace Gospel proclaimed in 1st Corinthians 15:1-4, you are woefully mistaken my friend.
I was listening to the Old Testament book of “Proverbs” today. I heard Proverbs 3:5-7, “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.” I thought about all the false teachers today who are perverting the Gospel, because they are violating this Scripture, leaning upon their own flawed human understanding. The cursed Lordship Salvation crowd are wise in their own eyes, preaching another gospel that makes sense to them, but is totally unbiblical.
Jesus is the Christ, the only begotten Son of God (John 20:31). If your trust (confidence) is in Christ alone for forgiveness of sins and eternal life, then you are saved. But this trust must be based upon the FACTS that Jesus died on the cross, He was buried and three days later He resurrected miraculously from the dead. 1st Thessalonians 4:14, “For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.”
Matthew 7:13-15, “Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.” Dear friend, I sincerely believe the reason why Jesus said very “few” people ever find the strait gate and the narrow way, is simply because the Devil appeals to man's sinful nature, and sinful men by nature feel compelled to turn from their own sins to qualify for salvation. But dear friend, you don't have to turn from your sinful ways to qualify for salvation. THE TRUTH is that you CANNOT turn from your sins!!! What saith the Scripture? Isaiah 64:6, “But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.”
These Satanic preachers today, who go around telling everybody to repent “of your sins” to be saved, don't know what they are talking about. The Bible says in John 3:20, “For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.” But nobody continues to read John 3:21, “But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.” Carefully notice that the Bible doesn't say “he that turning from his sins cometh to the light”; but rather, “he that DOETH TRUTH cometh to the light.” Repentance is a matter of acknowledging THE TRUTH that you are a guilty sinner in God's sight, so that you'll CHANGE YOUR MIND from unbelief to BELIEVING THE GOSPEL to be saved.
What saith the Scripture? 2nd Timothy 2:25, “In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;” Again, carefully notice that the Bible says repentance is NOT from sins, but the acknowledging of THE TRUTH. The Bible is so simple if we will just let the Word of God speak for itself. Dear friend, I have given you the plain truth of God's Word.
If you have never been born-again, then I plead with you to please do so now. You indeed CAN get saved in a second of time, and write down your name, the place and the date you got saved (and I encourage you to do so if you receive Christ now). I got saved at age 13 in Chicago, in 1980 at an old-fashioned Baptist church. But I didn't think to wrote down the date and time. I remember the place in church. I know it was a Sunday morning around 1980. I remember the events of that day, that for the first time in my life I felt Holy Spirit conviction about sin. The preacher said from the pulpit that, “If you don't have Holy Spirit convicting about the sins in your life, you're not saved. I knew right then that I had never been saved.
I was afraid to walk the church aisle, and the pastor unfortunately didn't tell us how to be saved from our pew. But I had been in Sunday School all my childhood, so I had heard the basic gist of the Gospel. I knew that Jesus was the Son of God, the Christ, and that He died for my sins on the cross, and I believed it that day! I believed that I was calling out silently from my soul to the risen Savior, to please save me, and He did! From that day unto the present, I have felt the blessed presence of God's indwelling Holy Spirit in my life (1st John 3:24). I simply BELIEVED the Good News with childlike faith and was forever saved.
So, yes, you CAN be saved in a moment of time, and you should write down the time and place, and your name, where the new birth occurred. Most preachers today are false prophets, like Joel Osteen, Rick Warren, Marty Herron, John MacArthur, Steve Pettit, Gary Walton and Chuck Phelps. All of these ungodly infidels preach the Devil's lie of Lordship Salvation (i.e., Calvinism), requiring that you turn away from your sinful behavior to be saved.
Therefore, they all errantly teach that a person cannot know they are saved right away; but rather, we must observe that person's life to see if their behavior has changed. That is Satan's plan of damnation! Satan's greatest weapon is to con people to live the Christian life without ever being born-again!!! When you were born the first time, physically into the world, did we have to watch your life to see if you were really alive? No, that would be ridiculous. Likewise, when a person is born for the second time, spiritually into God's Kingdom, we don't need to monitor them to see if their behavior changes. It is a new birth, not a new lifestyle!
