Luke 16:19-26, “There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day: And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores, And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores. And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. I was thinking about the exhilarating but tragic life and death of legendary guitarist Eddie Van Halen (1955-2020). After battling throat cancer for 5 years, Eddie finally succumbed to his illness at age 65. I was thinking about Eddie because I liked the guy. I admit that as a musician myself I had tremendous admiration for Eddie's innovative skills on the electric guitar, doing what no one had ever done before, which made him a great man within the music industry. Eddie pretty much is credited with inventing tap harmonics on the guitar. But we know that in fact HE DIDN'T! Albeit, Eddie was an amazing hard working and intelligent man.
Having said that, Eddie was a lifelong Roman Catholic. So also is Valerie Bertinelli and Alex Van Halen. Dear friend, there is no salvation in the cult of Roman Catholicism! It makes me sad when I think about where Eddie is right now in eternity. The truth is that I do not know if Eddie went to Heaven or Hell, but I can say without reservation that if he died in his Roman Catholic faith, he absolutely went to Hell. If the Bible is true, then Roman Catholics do not go to Heaven. What saith the Scripture? ...
Ephesians 2:8-9, “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”
Yet, official Catholic dogma is that you must do good works to get to Heaven. Catholics errantly teach that you must be water baptized to be saved. They errantly teach that you must confess your sins to a priest to be saved. They are lying to you, falsely claiming that some ungodly priest has the power to absolve your sins (which he doesn't). But don't take my word for it friend, here is a heretical quote from the Catholic Answers website:

What a crock of tommyrot, balderdash and poppycock!!! What saith the Scripture? 1st Timothy 2:5-6, “For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.” As we just read, THERE IS ONLY ONE MEDIATOR!!! That only Mediator is the precious Savior Himself, the Lord Jesus Christ!!! How dare Catholics sinfully appoint some wicked priest as a mediator between men and God. Dear reader, I hope you are not so spiritually blinded by Satan that you would actually buy into this Catholic deception. I say that kindly, but on the authority of the inspired Holy Scriptures.
Roman Catholicism and Russian Orthodox Catholicism alike are BOTH prisonhouses of religion. I said they are a PRISONHOUSE OF RELIGION!!! Catholics check in, but they don't check out! From the cradle to the casket, Catholicism has an elaborate religious package for your entire family. The Catholic Church does religion right, just like Kentucky Fried Chicken does chicken right. Unfortunately, the Catholic church is wrong on the Gospel. They are wrong on a whole lot of things, like worshipping statues, which is the sin of idolatry.
I am about to shock you friend. Please sit down if you aren't already, because your knees may buckle and you'll fall to the ground in horror and disgust after what I'm about to show you. This is A FACT, not my opinion. Okay. If you examine the Catholic Ten Commandments, you will discover that they completely REMOVED God's Second Commandment (which forbids bowing down to worship graven images). Instead, the wicked Catholic Church replaced the Second Commandment by dividing the Tenth Commandment into two. Here are the true Ten Commandments from the inspired King James Bible, so you can compare for yourself. The Catholic perversion of God's Ten Commandments obliterates the 2nd Commandment, and splits the 10th Commandment (not to covet) into two separate commandments. It is obvious why the Satanic Catholic Church did this, because they are guilty of committing idolatry every time they bow down before a statue of The Virgin Mother Mary, or pray to some patron saint's graven image, or repetitiously chant the superstitious Rosary. This is NOT genuine Bible Christianity, it is demonic false religion!!!

It is a sad known fact, that many people who were formerly only heterosexual, became homosexuals when they went to prison because many people cannot just turn off their libido. Likewise, this truth bears itself true in the Catholic priesthood, which is notoriously full of Sodomites. If you doubt what I say, just go search Google and read the news! Well of course, this is what happens when you forbid marriage, which (as we just read) the Holy Bible says is perfectly acceptable. MARRIAGE is good and acceptable!!!
I am sad that in all likelihood, Eddie Van Halen went to Hell for all eternity in his sins. I understand that these words may seem harsh, cruel and even resemble hate speech to some people, but I assure you that my intentions are pure friend. Dear reader, I don't want YOU to go to Hell too. That is the only reason I am writing this blog. Eddie is gone! I care about Valerie and Wolfgang, and Alex and all of Eddie's friends. THE TRUTH hurts, I know. Hey, I just showed you blatant fraud being committed by the Catholic Church, by removing the 2nd Comments and splitting the 10th to deceive you! Get mad at the Vatican and their perverted priests who lie to you, falsely claiming that they have the power to actually forgive (or not forgive) your sins. Dear friend, those rotten priests cannot even forgive their own sins, so how in the world can they also forgive yours? Throughout the Gospel of John we are taught to simply BELIEVE on the Lord Jesus Christ to be saved. Jesus DIED on the cross to pay for your debt of sin and mine. He then was BURIED. After three days, Jesus physically RESURRECTED from the dead. These three things comprise THE GOSPEL:
- Jesus DIED on the cross to pay for our sins
- He was BURIED
- Christ bodily RESURRECTED from the dead three days later
You can verify this truth in 1st Corinthians 15:1-4. I am not ignorant on this matter. I have attended numerous Catholic masses, funerals and events. One thing that you will NEVER find in a Catholic Church is a Holy Bible! I visited St. Anthony's Catholic church on Guam. The priest got up and told hundreds of their patrons that they should not try to read or understand the Bible for themselves, because they might do great damage if they get it wrong. That little weasel of a priest then said: “We are trained in the Scriptures, as priests, so you need to trust us to teach you!” Dear reader, I hope you see how devilish and evil these people truly are!
I truly feel sorry for all these deceived religious people. Truly, RELIGION IS THE WORST THING THAT EVER HAPPENED!!! When you want to pretend that you love God, professing a superficial shallow kind of faith, “Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away” (2nd Timothy 3:5). RUN away from the Catholic church while you still can, I plead with you. Your eternal destiny hangs in the balance.
I do not condemn Eddie Van Halen for a life of sin. As a preacher I must expose sin and refute all of Satan's works of darkness (Ephesians 5:11). But it is not my place to condemn anyone, because I am a big sinner too. We're ALL big sinners (1st John 1:8-10; James 2:10). Friend, you don't have to be a good person to get into Heaven someday, you've got to be 100% totally perfect, sinless, without one blemish on your record. No one has ever lived a sinless life, except Jesus Christ, who was born supernaturally by a miraculous virgin birth (Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:23). Jesus came to show us what God looks like!
I can only hope that on his deathbed Eddie Van Halen trusted the dear Savior. I sincerely doubt it though, because very few people do that. Hell is a literal place down inside the earth. It is a frightening place where the damned are tormented in flames of fire and brimstone. This is what we read in Luke 16:19-31, 2nd Thessalonians 1:8-9 and Revelation 21:8. Hell is a place of smoke and torment (Revelation 14:11). Anyone whose name is not written in the Lamb's Book of Life, will someday be cast without mercy into the everlasting Lake of Fire (Revelation 20:11-15). It is not too late for you friend.
I can almost hear the cries and weeping of Eddie from Hell. He is crying out, not wanting his family to come to the same place of suffering. This is exactly what the rich man in Hell was thinking:
Luke 16:27-31, “Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father's house: For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment. Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them. And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent. And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.”
What a sad and tragic true story! Dear reader, have you been born-again? Has there ever been a time in your life when you came to God as a guilty sinner (Romans 3:19-23), and you placed your childlike faith in the dear Savior (Galatians 3:26)? Did you understand and believe that Christ died on the cross for your sins, He was buried, and three days later He physically raised up from the dead victorious (1st Corinthians 15:1-4; John 19-20)? If that Good News (i.e., Gospel) is your only hope for Heaven, then you are saved forever by God's grace. All you need to do is simply BELIEVE ON THE LORD JESUS CHRIST (Acts 16:30-31).
I can almost hear the desperate cries of Apple founder Steve Jobs (a lifetime Buddhist), and Hollywood actor Gene Wilder (a self-professed Jewish, Atheist, Buddhist), and rock singer Freddie Mercury (a devout follower of the Zoroastrian religion). Dear friend, these are all deception's of the Devil. What saith the Scripture? John 14:6, “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” You have been woefully lied to by your Catholic church and priests, misled to think that some sinful human being has the God-given power to forgive sins. That is simply not true.
When Jesus told His disciples that He was giving them the keys to Heaven, the dear Savior was referring to THE GOSPEL itself. ...
Matthew 16:18-19, “And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.”
The Greek word for “Peter” here is petros (pebble); but the Greek word for “rock” is Petra (mountain). Jesus was telling Peter that upon JESUS CHRIST would the Church be built. I can also prove this truth with 1st Corinthians 3:11, “For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.” Jesus is the foundation of the Church and Christianity. But ungodly Catholics still falsely claim that the Church is based upon Peter, and that he was the first Pope of the Catholic church. That is not true! Peter was married in the Bible, so how could he have been a Catholic Pope, according to their own doctrines of devils?
If the Bible be true (and I assure you that is absolutely is), then right now there must be billions of tormented people in Hell, who are crying out for God to send a sign, a messenger or a miracle to warn their loved ones. But the Bible clearly evidences that once a person passes over the threshold from this life to the next, there is no coming back. There is no such thing as ghosts, because no one ever comes back from the realm of the dead (Hebrew word for hell: Sheol). But we do know that the unsaved wicked all go to Hell forever to suffer. Psalms 9:17, “The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.” Since the righteous (saved) and the unrighteous (lost) are buried in the same earthen graves, this Scripture passage would make no sense unless the wicked and the righteous go to different places (i.e., Heaven or Hell).
John 3:3, “Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” Eddie Van Halen wasn't born-again. You cannot obtain the new birth through religion dear friend. The new birth is a supernatural miracle of God in response to your faith in His only begotten Son:
John 3:15-17, “That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.”
