The Counterfeit Mormon Religion

1st Corinthians 15:1-4, “Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:”

The inspired Word of God is the incorruptible seed by which every believer has been born-again (1st Peter 1:23). For the Christian there is no other book besides the Holy Bible. In fact, the only reliable Bible today in the English language is the inspired King James Bible All other Bible are either inferior or corrupted by Satan. The Bible teaches that the Devil is the god of this world, who blind the minds of unsaved people, lest the see the light of the Gospel and be saved (2nd Corinthians 4:4).

One of Satan's false religions is Mormonism, which was started in the year 1830 by a perverse man named Joseph Smith (1805-1844). When Smith was 42 years old, he was lynched by an angry mob of 200 men in Illinois for his immoral relationships with 49 women. This is the founder of Mormonism. I do not believe in bashing or being unkind to anyone for any reason. I love Mormon people, just as I love Muslims, Jews and Christians alike. However, theologically speaking, the Mormon religion is messed up! The core beliefs of the religion are rooted in heathen sexual practices. I won't go into detail here, but you can read another article I wrote about direct perverse statements made by Joseph Smith and Brigham Young, that would make a pervert blush. Read there own teachings and you decide!

In a May, 1998, in an article written by a Mormon named Stephen E. Robinson, he makes these heretical statements:
“If the term Christian is used, as it is in standard English, to mean someone who accepts Jesus Christ as the divine Son of God and the Savior of the world, then the charge that we aren’t Christians is false. However, if the word Christian is given an overly narrow definition, then it is merely a way of saying LDS Christians differ in some degree from other Christians. No one “owns” the term Christian or has the right to deny it to others who worship Jesus as the divine Son of God.” [emphasis added]

Kindly said, Mr. Robinson is very ignorant of the Holy Scriptures. The King James Bible plainly warns against anyone, whether it be Joseph Smith or an angel, who comes preaching another gospel. The Word of God says they are accursed by God:
Galatians 1:6-8, “I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.”
Joseph Smith is a false prophet, who make the bizarre claim that an angel appeared to him and gave him the book of Mormon. We know Mr. Smith is a liar, because Hebrews 1:1-2 says God only speaks to us in these last days through His Son, that is, through the Word of God. Hebrews 1:1-2, “God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; In John 5:39a Jesus commands us to SEARCH THE SCRIPTURES, not the book of Mormon, nor the writings of Mormon patriarchs!

Steven Robinson makes these whoppers lies in the same article:
“The Bible itself never claims to be perfect, never claims to be sufficient for salvation, and never claims to grant its readers authority to speak or act for God. Rather, such claims are made by those who have lost priesthood authority and have lost direct revelation and, instead of trying to find them again, are trying desperately to maintain that their loss doesn’t matter.” [emphasis added]

Whoa! I am going to prove his three lying claims wrong!

First, he says the Bible itself never claims to be perfect. Oh really? Psalms 19:7, “The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.” That proves Mr. Robinson wrong! God's Word is perfect!

Second, he says the Bible never claims to be sufficient for salvation. WRONG! 2nd Timothy 3:15-17, “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.I guess the Bible is all you need after all, right Steven?

Third, he claims that the Bible never grants the reader the right to act or speak for God. WRONG! Romans 3:4, “God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged.” Please notice in the preceding quote from 2nd Timothy 3:16 that “ALL SCRIPTURE” is given by inspiration (Greek: theopneustos, meaning, God breathed), That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works. The Bible is very clear that the man of God is made perfect (complete in every way) by the Word of God. John 17:17, “Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.”

Kindly said, Steven Robinson sounds like he has never even read the Holy Bible, because he just made three big false statements! In fact, the Bible DOES claim to be perfect, and it DOES claim to be sufficient for salvation, and it DOES grant the right to anyone to speak the truth based upon the authority of the Word of God! Joseph Smith was an ungodly man, who lived an immoral life of adultery, and twisted the Scriptures around in a wicked attempt to justify his filthy lifestyle! Literally, he started his own religion to justify having carnal knowledge with 49 different women in his unholy bed. Mormonism is ungodly stuff!

No Christian is right with God who bids Godspeed to Mormons. 2nd John 1:11, “For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds. In 2004, Evangelist Ravi Zacharias (1946-2020) did just that in Salt Lake City, to a group of 7,000 Mormons. At the end of the meeting, the Mormon speaker said: “We've been given a gift tonight.” He said that because by bidding Godspeed to their cult, Ravi Zacharias had given the Mormons legitimacy in the evangelical Christian community, which is of the Devil. I do not encourage being mean to anyone, but Bible-believing Christians must take a firm stand against Mormonism, because it preaches another gospel.

If you watch the preceding video, you'll even hear Ravi refer to Mormons as brethren, making mention of “our heavenly Father.” Folks, if you are not born-again, you are not a child of God, and God is not your heavenly Father! Mormonism requires doing good works, and being water baptized, both of which are a perversion of the Gospel. Furthermore, Mormons deny that Jesus is almighty God, which is a fundamental doctrine of Christianity. As we learn in Matthew 7:21-23, just because someone calls themselves “Christians“ doesn't mean they actually are!

Please understand that I didn't write this blog to bash Mormons. I don't do that! I didn't write this article to attack the Mormons or their religious faith. I wrote this article to earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints” (Jude 1:3b). Jesus is the Christ, the only begotten Son of God. Our text Bible verses from 1st Corinthians 15:1-4 plainly defines THE GOSPEL (meaning Good News or Glad Tidings) as three things: Christ DIED on the cross for our sins, He was BURIED, and then three days later Jesus RESURRECTED bodily from the dead. Anyone who believes (relies upon) this GOOD NEWS,” and doesn't add anything to it, has the gift of eternal life!

Sadly, Mormons sinfully add water baptism, requiring it for salvation. In Bible Christianity, a believer only receives water baptism AFTER they are saved, as an outward public profession of their inward faith. God commands believers to be baptized (by full immersion), but this is not required to receive the free gift of God, which is eternal life (Ephesians 2:8-9). Mormons say that faith is insufficient by itself to save, that more is required. Mormons, just like Bob Jones University and other neo-evangelical apostates today, teach that turning away from one's sinful past is absolutely required to receive God's free gift.

They have a wrong understanding of what it means to “repent in the Bible. Whereas the Greek meaning of repentance (metanoia) is simply a change of mind, sincere but deceived neo-evangelicals and Mormons say it means turning away from all your sins,” that is, behavior modification (reformation). That is a false gospel! Nowhere in the Bible are we taught to “turn from sin or repent of sins to be saved. God only requires for a person to acknowledge that they are a needy sinner, so they will embrace Jesus Christ to be saved by grace through faith alone (Romans 3:19-28; Galatians 3:24-26). To God be the glory!
