How Permanent Is Your Salvation?

John 3:16-17, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.”

The website at GetGod'sGift.org features the writings of Pastor Hank Lindstrom (1940-2008), the former pastor of the Calvary Community Church in Tampa, Florida. Dr. Lindstrom had taught at Moody Bible Institute as a Bible professor for 12 years, back when they were still doctrinally sound. One of my favorite MP3 sermons by Dr. Lindstrom is called: "How Permanent Is Your Salvation" (VIDEO)...

In Michael P. Bowen's excellent book clarifying the Gospel, titled, "I Never Knew You: The Coming Horror Of The Great White Throne Judgment And How You Can Avoid It!," he mentions in his book that Dr. Lindstrom's sermon "How Permanent Is Your Salvation?" led him to the Lord

On page 16 of, "I Never Knew You," Michael Bowen states:
“One night, in late 2005, I found some articles written by Dr. Hank Lindstrom that freed me from so much of the bondage of counterfeit salvation. I then listened to Dr. Lindstrom’s sermon “How Permanent Is Your Salvation?” After hearing him preach Christ’s plan of salvation and after seeing in the bible for myself what Christ had said about it, I trusted Jesus alone, as my only hope of heaven.”

Amen! What a great testimony! Ever since I read this, and listened to the sermon for myself, I have done my best to promote the sermon and Brother Bowen's book.

Pastor Ralph “Yankee Arnold Has It Correct

The present pastor of Calvary Community Church is Dr. Ralph “Yankee” Arnold, and I love his preaching. Like his predecessor Dr. Lindstrom, Pastor Arnold relentlessly goes after the satanic Lordship Salvation crowd, and upholds the simplicity and clarity of the Gospel. Here is a link to his daily chapel sermons at Florida Bible College, which I highly recommend.

This is one of my favorite YouTube sermons by Dr. Arnold called: "Lordship Salvation: Caught Between Grace And Works!"

In churches all across America, you'll find corrupt religious tracts in their literature display. You'll find unbiblical garbage about “turning from sinful ways” to be saved, and “committing your life to Christ” and “following Jesus,” none of which compromise 'The Gospel.' Such corrupt religious junk hinders the lost from seeing the truth of the saving-Gospel of free grace:
“There is power in this Gospel message. Most people just don't know how to present it... The clarity of the Gospel is what makes it easy for them to believe.” —Pastor Yankee Arnold, a quote from the excellent MP3 sermon titled, “WHY GRACE CAN SAVE THE WORST MAN!

The Problem Of Indifferent Pastors

Sadly, I have confronted numerous Baptist pastors in a gentlemanly manner, letting them know that there are corrupt religious tracts in their church, but they were indifferent and didn't care. Such wicked men ought not be allowed behind any pulpit. One of the worst sins I see in this untoward generation today is ministers who approach the pastorate as a mere profession. Just so long as they get their next paycheck, they are content, while the Gospel is being obscured, the meaning of repentance is perverted, and the Word of God is corrupted! Consequently, countless churchgoers nowadays have churchianity without Christianity. Millions of people have been conned into living the Christian life without being born again, because of these ungodly pastors who don't care about THE TRUTH!

Either Salvation Is Permanent, Or Else You're Not Saved

If your salvation is not permanent, then it is not God's salvation! The free gift of eternal life that God offers—through faith in the 'Good News' (Gospel) of Jesus Christ crucified, buried and risen the third day—cannot be forfeited or lost once you have it. Literally, we are saved by God's righteousness, not our own inadequate self-righteousness. Philippians 3:9, “And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith.” The very idea that turning away from sinful ways is necessary to receive the free gift of God, goes totally contrary to the Holy Scriptures! If you believe that murdering someone would result in the loss of your salvation, then you are not saved! Salvation is of the Lord. Salvation is not doing your best, it is having Christ's best put to your account through receiving Him by faith.

The proper mindset of a saved person is that Jesus became the sacrifice for our sins on the cross, and He alone bore the weight, shame and punishment for our sins. Therefore, I have absolutely no part in saving myself. My sole part is simply to believe. The life that I choose to live as a believer, good or bad, is an entirely separate matter of discipleship and rewards, which has nothing to do with receiving the free gift of forgiveness of sins and eternal life. When anyone adds human reformation (aka, turning from sins) to the grace of God, grace is canceled out.

2nd Corinthians 1:20-22, “For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us. Now he which stablisheth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God; Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.” Every Christian believer is sealed with the blessed Holy Spirit, who has been given as God's proof of His downpayment on us. THAT IS ETERNAL SECURITY! 1st John 3:24, “And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.

Eternal life is the free gift of God. To be born-again, you must wholly submit yourself to God's righteousness, which is by faith in Christ Jesus. Romans 10:3-4, “For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God. For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.” The way to be saved is to simply get out of the way, and let God do the saving, all of it!
