Beware Of The Fundamental Modernist

Revelation 3:2, “Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found thy works perfect before God.” 

Brother Lester Roloff (1914-1982) called him the “Fundamental Modernist” (a phrase used in the MP3 sermon: 'The Wisdom Of The Word'). Today we would call him the “Neo-fundamentalist” (i.e., New-fundamentalist). I'm referring to the apostate Bob Jones University crowd! At one time in America, Bob Jones University (BJU) were considered the citadel of Christian fundamentalism in America. Sadly today, nearly a century later, BJU is having too much FUN and not enough DA MENTAL!!! BJU today is no longer a true fundamentalist institution. They have deteriorated! On their college website's Statement of Faith, BJU boasts that they haven't changed since their doors opened in 1927. That is exactly their problem! 

Pastor Jack Hyles (1926-2001) teaches concerning the neo-evangelical:

It is not believing right within the movement that makes one a fundamentalist; it is the withdrawal FROM the movement and returning to the original dogma, practices and convictions of the apostate group that gives one the title of fundamentalist. The basic difference is the degree of importance that one places on the doctrine of separation. [emphasis added] —Dr. Jack Hyles, “New Evangelicalism”

A “fundamentalist” is a faithful Bible-believing Christian who SEPARATES from doctrinal error, worldliness, inspiration-deniers, counterfeit Bible revisions and ecclesiastical compromise; and then returns to the original position! That is where BJU has horribly failed. Instead of separating from error, they have embraced it, promoting the Devil's Alexandrian Bible PERversions! What is a Neo Fundamentalist (or a Fundamental Modernist)? It is a former Fundamentalist who has sinfully moved toward a New Evangelical position! Why do I call it sinful? Revelation 3:15-16, “I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.” God hates lukewarm Christianity! God hates when Christians straddle the fence on the issues, drive in the middle of the road, going along to get along with error. 

Bob Jones University Are No Longer Fundamentalists

Since 1927, literally HUNDREDS more English Bible revisions have been published. BJU has sat back idle, A.W.O.L. from what Pastor Hyles rightly called in 1994: 'The Battle Of The Ages!' Why don't they care at Bob Jones? Why won't they speak up and expose the Devil's Bible versions? In 2017 the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) published another counterfeit Bible revisions, this time called the Christian Standard Bible (CSB), which is gender neutral to appease this wicked generation of feminists and homosexuals. BJU is eerily silent, letting their brethren (like me) go to war by myself. 

I haven't made a penny since I began my online ministry in 2002, Dr. Steve Petite who today leads BJU gets paid an extravagant 6-digit salary! Spiritual crime pays well! The truth doesn't matter to Neo-fundamentalists! As far as I'm concerned, Mr. Pettit has always been a Neo-evangelical, which is why BJU hired him. BJU used to be a fundamentalist institution when Dr. Bob Jones Sr. (1883-1968) was still alive. Dr. Jones believed that the King James Bible is verbally inspired, not just the non-existent originals (which is what BJU foolishly teaches today)...

Just like First Baptist Church Of Hammond (and consequently Hyles-Anderson College) have LEFT the former correct position of Pastor Jack Hyles—that the King James Bible is inspired; so also has Bob Jones University LEFT the former position of Dr. Bob Jones Sr.—that the King James Bible is inspired.

My chart is my opinion, so forgive me if I am wrong on something. I think it is pretty accurate. Sadly, the old fundamentalist movement is dying! I'm talking about the Bob Jones crowd! I have seen the apostasy first hand at the Harvest Baptist Church on Guam. I heard Dr. Petite preach at Harvest in 2014, who is buddies with the former shameful pastor of Harvest–both largely neo-evangelicals!!! They love Dr. John MacArthur! They sanction dozens of different Bible revisions! This is NOT fundamentalism!!! Since they were never fundamentalists to begin with, they cannot be neo-fundamentalists! 

We are not a “fundamentalist” because of what we believe; but rather, because we withdraw from neo-evangelicals who have embraced corrupt Bible revisions. I am a fundamentalist! I stand uncompromisingly against the Alexandrian Bible-changing crowd! Neo-evangelicals don't care about the truth, and neo-fundamentalists have become indifferent, like Hyles-Anderson College. Dr. Jack Hyles rightly said:

“I'm tired of colleges and universities advertising that they use the King James Bible. Tell the whole story! Tell everyone that you do not believe that it is inspired word for word.” —Dr. Jack Hyles, “The Need For An Every Word Bible,” page 54. 

“I would not give, knowingly, one thin dime to a college that does not believe in the verbal inspiration of this Book I hold tonight.” —Pastor Jack Hyles, from the timeless sermon, “YOU MUST GO THROUGH ARABIA”; preached October 11, 1981.

I'm tired of hearing Bible colleges say that the KJB is the “best” of the translations. My friend, it is not the best, it is GOD'S WORD!!! The word “best” implies that it could be better. If it could be better, then it is not very pure. The psalmist loved God's Word because it is “VERY PURE.” Psalms 119:140, “Thy word is very pure: therefore thy servant loveth it.” I hate the modern Bible versions, because they all say something a little different. Here's the ugly truth! The inspired King James Bible hasn't changed since 1611. There have been numerous editions, updates to fix typos and such, but no new translations. You can trust your KJB!!!

Bob Jones University doesn't realize how much damage they are doing to the cause of Jesus Christ by tolerating, promoting and using the corrupt Alexandrian Bible manuscripts! Spiritually, the Alexandrian manuscripts came from Satan, the father of all lies (John 8:44). When I heard a reprobate pastor (a graduate of Bob Jones College) call Dr. Hyles “a cult,” I decided I had better take a closer look at Bob Jones College. To no surprise I found out that Bob Jones University tolerates and sanctions the Alexandrian manuscripts. This is not fundamentalism.

Evangelist Lester Roloff Exposed The Devil's Bibles

Brother Lester Roloff (1914-1982) was an amazing man of God, as sincere a Christian as you'd find anywhere. It is a crying shame that Bob Jones University, who used to invite and honor Brother Roloff in chapel services, don't heed his wisdom on the dangers of the corrupt modern Bible revisions. It just goes to prove that BJU's leaders only care about making money, and are indifferent concerning THE TRUTH. They won't get away with it indefinitely, because they must all give account at the Judgment Seat of Christ (2nd Corinthians 5:9-11; Hebrews 4:13; Matthew 12:39; 1st Thessalonians 4:6; Romans 14:10-12). By sanctioning the corrupt Alexandrian Bible revisions, BJU has blood on their hands, for promoting Devil's Bibles! 2nd John 1:11, “For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.” 

Brother Roloff was a true Bible-believing Christian fundamentalist. Like Jack Hyles, Bob Jones, J. Frank Norris, Harry Ironside, Al Lacy and other faithful men, Brother Roloff was a truth-seeker and always moved to the right (truth) when necessary, but never to the left (error). Pastor Jack Hyles admitted in later years that he was deceived as a young preacher by Bible professors, who had influenced him to question God's Word. Therefore, as a true fundamentalist, Dr. Hyles moved more to the right years later, taking a King James Bible only position. I am fully convinced that if Dr. John R. Rice (1895-1980) had lived unto this day, he would have done exactly as his successor Shelton Smith has done at the Sword of The Lord, taking a King James Bible only position. For that I humbly commend Dr. Shelton! Here are hundreds of MP3 sermons that he preached. And here is a classic called: 'THE LIVING BIBLE EXPOSED!'
