Someone has accused fundamental Baptists like myself of preaching a Gospel of “cheap grace.” Why my friend, it is not only “cheap,” God's grace is completely “free”! Salvation is entirely the free gift of God, because Jesus Christ paid for it with His own precious blood. 1st Peter 1:18-19, “Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.” The price for our redemption was Jesus' precious blood. In that sense, grace is priceless!
What exactly is the Gospel? The word “Gospel” means “Good News” or “Glad Tidings.” There is no need to guess what the “Gospel” is because the Bible plainly tells us. The “Gospel” is the GOOD NEWS of Christ's DEATH on the cross for our sins, His BURIAL and bodily RESURRECTION three days later. The BAD NEWS is that we were all born into the world as sinners, and unless a person believes (relies upon) the GOOD NEWS they will die in their sins, perishing into Hell forever and ever without hope. That is what the Bible teaches. John 3:36, “He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.” God's holy wrath abides upon all Christ-rejecters! Romans 5:8-9, “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.”
To simplify, “THE GOSPEL” is:
- Christ DIED on the cross for our sins.
- He was BURIED.
- Jesus physically RESURRECTED from the dead after three days.
If you simply believe (solely trust) the GOOD NEWS (Gospel) that Jesus is the only begotten Son of God, the risen Christ, Who became the sacrifice for YOUR SINS on the cross, paying your sin debt so that you could obtain the free gift of forgiveness of sins and eternal life, then you are saved...
1st Corinthians 15:1-4, “Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.”We are saved by BELIEVING (placing our confidence) in “the Gospel,” which is the power of God unto salvation. Romans 1:16, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.” John 6:28-29, “Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God? Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.” It is that simple to be saved. If you admit that you are a needy sinner in God's sight, and you receive Christ's sacrifice on the cross as payment for your sins, believing that He was buried and bodily resurrected three days later—YOU ARE IMMEDIATELY, SECURELY AND FOREVER SAVED!!! Salvation is not doing your best, it is having Christ's best put to your account through receiving Him by faith.

Salvation is Completely Free to Anyone Who Wants It
If you stop reading right here, there is nothing else that you need to know to be saved, but if you'd like to know more, please hear me out. Here is a great quote from Dr. Harry Ironside (1876-1951)...“THE Gospel needs only to be preached in the power of the Holy Spirit to hold its own against every imitation and substitute that the mind of the natural man energized by Satan can devise.” —Pastor Harry Ironside, from his sermon, “ANOTHER GOSPEL.”Religion wants to fit us with glasses, but the Lord wants to open our eyes! Thank God for the truth of His precious Word, which is a lamp unto our feet. Psalm 119:105, “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” America's churches influence the world, so if Satan can corrupt our churches here at home, then he can corrupt the world. The United States sends out more missionaries than any other nation. Sadly, there is MUCH heresy and false teaching circulating on the radio, internet, television and in our churches nowadays concerning what a person must do to be saved. One of my favorite MP3 sermons on salvation is by Pastor Jack Hyles, called: “Fundamentalist Heresy!”
One of the most ungodly false prophets of our time is Pastor John MacArthur of Grace To You ministry in California, who complicates The Gospel, foolishly stating in his book, “HARD TO BELIEVE”:
“Don’t believe anyone who says it’s easy to become a Christian. Salvation for sinners cost God His own Son; it cost God’s Son His life, and it’ll cost you the same thing.” [emphasis added] —Dr. John MacArthur, Grace To You, an updated quote from his book 'Hard To Believe', page 93.PASTOR MACARTHUR LIES!!! Getting saved won't cost you ANYTHING! Salvation did cost God His only begotten Son, and it did cost Jesus His life, which is exactly why it WON'T COST YOU! I can't even believe that Mr. MacArthur is teaching this trash! What saith the Scripture? Acts 8:20a, “But Peter said unto him, Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased...” John MacArthur is of the Devil! Shame on any preacher who says that salvation will COST YOU! Read the plain statements of the Word of God for yourself...
Romans 3:23-26, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.”We are saved BY FAITH alone. It'll cost you NOTHING! Repeatedly in the Bible we read the words “FREE” and “GIFT.” Romans 3:24 says we are FREELY JUSTIFIED BY HIS GRACE!!! What part of that doesn't John MacArthur understand? A gift cannot cost the recipient anything, in order to remain “a gift.” Eternal life won't cost you anything!!! MacArthur spits on God's grace by teaching that IT'LL COST YOU! No, it cost Jesus His life, body and blood! The Devil sure is subtle. Kindly, get it through your head dear reader—JESUS PAID IT ALL!!!
I attended the Harvest Baptist Church on Guam for one year in 2014, where they shamefully honored, promoted and exalted John MacArthur. When I tried to warn their Senior Pastor about MacArthur's false teachings, he drove me out of the church instead. As I just quoted to you from Mr. MacArthur himself, he does not believe it is easy to be saved; but rather, he says IT WILL COST YOU EVERYTHING!!! Who are you going to believe—John MacArthur who says it is not easy to be saved, or “the simplicity that is in Christ” (2nd Corinthians 11:3b)? Kindly, Mr. MacArthur is a theological liar! My friend, it is so easy, free and simple to be saved, that all God requires of you to be saved, is to BELIEVE THE GOOD NEWS of Jesus Christ crucified, buried and risen!
Sincerely, I love the people at Harvest Baptist Church, God knows, but they are blinded fools following fools!!! They use, sell and promote the Devil's counterfeit Bible versions (as does Bob Jones University, cult headquarters), they love John MacArthur's Calvinism (aka, Lordship Salvation). Humbly, I came along (since 2014) as the best friend their church has ever had, trying to HELP THEM SEE, but they berated me and drove me out of their church instead. Respectfully, SHAME ON HARVEST'S LEADERS!!! The Lord rebuke thee! Romans 3:4, “God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged.” Psalm 118:6, “The LORD is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me?” Proverb 12:17, “He that speaketh truth sheweth forth righteousness: but a false witness deceit.”
