Avoid The Counsel Of The Ungodly

There's an online magazine from California called: “LIFE GOALS,” on which the author states:

This past year I started getting visual about the future that I wanted. Before then, I had no idea what I wanted or what I pictured my future to look like. Though getting more visual about what I wanted, I really got connected with my future and feel like I know the steps I need to take in order to have the future that I desire. I’ve allowed myself to really think about what I want while also having fun doing it. It felt less overwhelming and more fun to visually map my life out. 

For all of us daydreamers, visually planning out your life can make daydreaming feel a little more practical. We can be daydreamers with real plans for our future if we do it right. —'LIFE GOALS' magazine

That type of foolish thinking is so typical of this younger, selfish, ungodly generation today! What saith the Scripture? ...

Ecclesiastes 12:13-14, “Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.”

Our 'WHOLE DUTY' in life is to 'FEAR GOD AND KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS'! Do you fear God dear friend? I do! We all have to give account to God someday in eternity (Hebrews 14:10-12). I don't know about you, but I want to be prepared for that day! You and I simply don't know what tomorrow may bring here on earth, but WE DO KNOW that we must stand before God one day in the future. Hebrews 9:27, “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:” My future life's goal on earth is to FEAR GOD AND OBEY HIS COMMANDMENTS!!! Philippians 1:21, “For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.”

It is a sin to make future plans without including, obeying and glorifying God...

Luke 12:16-21, “And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully: And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits? And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods. And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry. But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided? So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.”

I noticed that the author of 'LIFE GOALS' doesn't include God in her future plans. Kindly, she is a fool and no one ought take advice from her. Psalms 1:1-2, “Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.” The unsaved world has a lot of ungodly counsel to offer you, but a wise person avoids it! So what do we do? The answer is to DELIGHT IN THE LAW OF THE LORD DAY AND NIGHT! That is what the Psalmist David said!

Seeking Professional Secular Help

It is not a sin for a Christian to go to a psychiatrist. I heard Pastor Jack Hyles (who pastored faithfully for 55 years) say in a sermon that some people need a psychiatrist. These specialists are licensed to prescribe drugs, which some patients desperately need to cope with manic depression and other ailments. There are many causes of mental illness, including: physical health problems, abuse, drugs, phobias and compulsive disorders, which need legitimate medical intervention. 

So I am not against psychiatrists, but I sincerely believe that in at least 95% of the cases where believers seek psychiatric help, it is totally unnecessary. Pastor Max Younce preaches a very practical 2-part sermon series called: HUMAN WISDOM VERSUS DIVINE WISDOM | PART TWO, which addresses why so many people seek psychiatric counselling. What they really have is a REBELLION problem with the Word of God! I hope you will take the time to listen to this tremendous sermon, which I am confident you'll be so glad you did! 

However, you need to understand that psychologists are not trained to counsel people from the inspired Word of God, and neither are they licensed to prescribe drugs. I do not recommend psychologists, because they do not have a Biblical mindset. And for that matter neither do psychiatrists, so you have to be careful with them too. It is up to the individual person (or their family if they are unable) to determine if someone needs psychiatric care. Some Christians foolishly apply Mark 5:1-17 (the Maniac of Gadarene) to every situation, and assume that every insane person is demon-possessed, but that is simply not true! There are legitimate cases of mental illness, which science is still discovering. You need to be very careful before shoving the Holy Bible in someone's face who has mental issues! It all depends on what is causing their mental illness. 

The secular medical profession does not officially recognize Biblical terms; such as: sin, love, righteousness, redemption, Hell, Heaven, Holy Spirit, Jesus, repentance, salvation, discipleship, conviction, God or Judgment. They approach the broken body and soul from a humanistic perspective, not a Biblical spiritual perspective. For example: a lazy woman (a wife and a mother) who seeks help from the medical profession will very likely be diagnosed with 'Clinical Depression,' and then be prescribed drugs to cope. What she really needs is Bible preaching! She needs to be told that she is a sinner, and that laziness is a horrible sin, and she needs to get right with God! You will NEVER hear anyone in the secular medical profession tell you that YOU NEED TO GET RIGHT WITH GOD!!!

Another example is a man (a father and husband) who has a hot-temper. If he seeks professional help from the secular world, he will almost assuredly be sent to an Anger Management Program, but what he really needs is to GET RIGHT WITH GOD! One of the greatest sermons I have heard on this subject is by Pastor Jack Hyles, a masterpiece sermon in my humble opinion, called: 'YOU CAN CHOOSE YOUR OWN TEMPERAMENT!' People will say things like: “I wish I was as sweet as she is!” or “I wish I was as hard-working as he is!” or “I wish I had your patience!,” but the truth is we CAN be all those things IF WE CHOOSE TO! Someone says: “Boy, I wish I was as generous as he is!” Well, you can be! The truth is that those people (which you admire so much) are just as lazy, mean, uncaring and selfish as you are, but they CHOOSE to work hard, get up early, apply themselves, care, love and be generous! YOU CAN CHOOSE YOUR OWN TEMPERAMENT!!! 

Bible Preaching Is The Best Godly Counsel

Please avoid the counsel of the ungodly! I love Bible-preaching, because it is GODLY COUNSEL! I need all the spiritual counsel I can obtain, to lay up wisdom for future decisions that I might need to make, or for someone else who might need my advice in a matter. Proverbs 10:14, “Wise men lay up knowledge: but the mouth of the foolish is near destruction.” What a great Bible verse! Since web visitors ask me a lot of questions, I listen to a lot of Bible preaching, so I can steer them in the right direction. 

I heard Dr. Hyles say that he and his secretary once went through 128 of his pastoral counseling sessions in his office, to see how many of them could have been avoided if people simply listened to his preaching and read his books. Of the 128 counseling sessions, 122 could have been avoided!!! Wow! Good night in the morning! Great fluffy biscuits! That is amazing!!! The point being—listening to Bible preaching WILL change your life!!! 

That is why I collect Pastor Jeff Owens' sermons like baseball cards, because they are a goldmine of wisdom! I love that dear man of God, and he is one of my mentors! When people ask me a question, I search through my Jeff Owens' collection for a helpful sermon, and I send it to them! That is wisdom. I am not always wise, but I know where to get wisdom. That is why I have a collection online of several thousand sermons by Bible-believing preachers! Thank God for PREACHERS!!! I have over 2,800 sermons just by Pastor Jack Hyles (my hero of the Christian faith). Proverbs 13:20, “He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.” Jeremiah 5:5, “I will get me unto the great men, and will speak unto them; for they have known the way of the LORD, and the judgment of their God: but these have altogether broken the yoke, and burst the bonds.” 

In sharp contrast, most people saturate their impressionable minds with secular newspapers, books, magazines, websites, movies, plays, blogs. And then professed Christian people effectively do the same thing—inoculating their minds with so-called “Christian” devotionals, books, websites, magazines, blogs, films and religious conventions. All of this effectively KEEPS YOU FROM THE INSPIRED WORD OF GOD!

We are living in the 'PERILOUS TIMES' as foretold in the Holy Scriptures, a time of reprobate minds. What saith the Scripture? ...

2nd Timothy 3:1-5, “This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.”

I always marvel at the last part of 2nd Timothy 3:5—“Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.” That is a shocking revelation. The Bible foretold that a horrible time would come, when the most wicked people would embrace religion, professing a superficial FORM of godliness; but denying the power of God unto salvation, which is the Gospel (Romans 1:16). The Bible warns us to TURN AWAY FROM SUCH REPROBATES, that is, counterfeit Christians!!! 

Satan is a beautiful liar! There are many deceptions in the world today. The average person is not a born-again Christian. They cannot discern the difference between a true Christian versus a fake Christian. Examples of fake Christians include: Mormon, Roman Catholic, Jehovah's Witness, Church of Christ, Lutherans, Seventh-Day Adventist, Unitarian Universalist, Scientology, Christian Science and the Church of England, to name but a few of the major religious groups. All of these religious faiths corrupt the Gospel of free grace, adding works to grace, which is ANOTHER GOSPEL (2nd Corinthians 11:3-4). To seek counsel from these pseudo-Christian religious groups is to seek the counsel of the ungodly!

For example: Roman Catholics teach that a person MUST keep the Seven Sacraments to merit Heaven, which is NOT the Bible's way to be saved. JW's deny that Jesus is God almighty, so they have “ANOTHER JESUS” (2nd Corinthians 11:3-4). Providing a detailed analysis of these cults is beyond the scope of this article. For our purposes here, I just want to warn you that you shouldn't seek counsel from these religious groups, because they are not born-again believers. “Godly counsel” is advice that is 100% Scripture-based! I'd estimate that 99% of all advice given today anywhere is unbiblical! 

Godly counsel obviously should include God!!! One of the more obvious examples of ungodly advice is the recommendation to seek divorce. God hates divorce (i.e., “putting away” - Jeremiah 3:20 Malachi 2:16). No one should ever file for divorce! I like that in the Philippine islands there are no divorce courts. Literally, you cannot file for divorce! Would to God that it were so in America! We are a spoiled-rotten culture of selfishness, greed and immorality. The Bible foretold in 2nd Timothy 3:1-5, “This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves...” Seeking a divorce is the most selfish thing that a person could ever do. Proverbs 31:12, “She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.” Ladies, to file for divorce is to hire a legally-trained professional assassin to financially murder your husband! Avoid lawyers who will always offer the ungodly advice to: “STRIKE FIRST!” A lawyer is an ambassador for Satan, and he or she couldn't care less about your sacred marriage! 

My Godly Advice For You

I could mention hundreds of examples of ungodly advice, I am just touching the tip of the iceberg. Here is some of the best godly advice I could ever give you:

1. Do not enroll your impressionable child into the public fool system. The Devil has a bid for your child! Public schools don't care. They promote perverse sex-ed, homosexuality, fornication, new age doctrine, Harry Potter and evolution; but much worse is that children are deprived the love of caring Christian teachers, the the knowledge of God. My number one best godly advice I could give anyone is to get your children into a Bible-believing Christian school preferably at a local Baptist church. Home-schooling is also an option, but a mother must be responsible and diligent to make it all succeed. 
2. Get your family faithfully involved in a local Bible-believing church. This is so important. I love Pastor Steven Anderson, his family and growing church ministry. I've listened to him share his testimony many times, in which he tells how his wise parents sacrificially drove 45 minutes to attend an Independent Fundamental Baptist Church as a family. That is what made Brother Anderson the bold man of God that he is—being involved in a local fundamental Bible-believing church, where he found the blessed Savior and learned all about the Word of God! The distance is worth the difference! 
3. A Christian wife ought never work a secular job. I have heard countless tragic stories of Christian men's wives running off in adultery with some bum at work. In one case the jealous husband murdered his wife and then commit suicide, but nothing happened to the adulterer at work! I wouldn't want to be in that wicked man's shoes on Judgment Day. Proverbs 6:29, “So he that goeth in to his neighbour's wife; whosoever toucheth her shall not be innocent.” The Word of God plainly teaches that women are the “WEAKER VESSEL” (1st Peter 3:7). Ungodly men are seducers. To some extent all men are dirty-minded pigs! A man's mind normally thinks very differently than a woman's mind does; most women either fail to understand that, don't care, or take sport in hurting other people. A husband needs to protect his wife from other men, by keeping her home where she happily belongs, guiding the house (1st Timothy 5:14-15). I am not saying it is sinful for women to work outside the home, but it is unwise. That is how I feel in the matter! 
4. Avoid drinking booze! I thank God I have never drank a drop of booze. I hate booze! Alcohol has never built a home, mended a marriage or strengthened a relationship! I remember standing over the graves of a pregnant mother who was struck and murdered by a drunk driver. I'll never forget seeing that little white coffin being lowered into a small hole dug 6 feet deep into the earth! As usual, the drunk driver sustained few injuries and received slap on the wrist for Involuntary Manslaughter (that means even though he killed somebody, since that wasn't his intention, he wasn't be charged with First Degree Murder). That has always bothered me, because everybody who drinks alcohol fully understands the risks involved. Drinking booze is a game of Russian Roulette! Evangelist John R. Rice properly called alcohol: LIQUID DEVIL! 
5. Christian ladies, reject feminist indoctrination - The Rockefeller's since the 1960's have re-engineered American women to think differently—to despise marriage and motherhood, resent child-rearing, loathe being a stay-at-home wife, feel inferior for being a homemaker. Instead, women have been re-engineered to pursue a money-making career, seeks “relationships” instead of a lifetime marriage commitment, glorifying partying with friends as a single woman, and to be so-called “liberated” from an oppressive unfair male-dominated society! I am a movie fan. I like the 1997 movie, 'Dante's Peak,' about a volcano that erupts. In the transcript, mayor Rachel Wando (played by actor Linda Hamilton) says to Harry Dalton (played by actor Pierce Brosnan) that children are NO FUN!—“What do you do for fun? Fun? Hmph. What is that? Fun? Oh, I know. Fun is what you have when you don't have two children, a business, a town to run.” That is a fool talking! Psalms 127:3, “Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.” Stupid is, stupid does ladies! Don't let the Devil make a Jezebel out of you! Don't let the Devil talk you into murdering your precious baby! Don't let the Devil's child convince you to destroy your own marriage and home. Tell the Devil and his minions to go to Hell!!! 
6. Avoid birth control contraceptives and have children. I am 100% against the whole idea of delaying having children until things are more settled. Don't be a fool! You don't know what the future holds dear friend! Egg Freezing has become a popular reality in these strange modern times! Recent figures released by the Human Fertilisation And Embryology Authority (HFEA) confirmed Egg Freezing to be the fastest form of fertility treatment in Europe. But only 1-in-5 women who had their eggs frozen returned to use them, and of the women that returned only 21% successfully gave birth to a child. That means only 4% of the women who have their eggs frozen ever have a baby! Oh, how foolish are women today!!! God loves BIG FAMILIES, and so do I! I admire that Pastor Steven Anderson and his wife have 11 children. I think that is beautiful! I advise every young married couple to HAVE CHILDREN, and have them NOW! Don't delay! Children are a gift, blessing and heritage from THE LORD!!! The plain truth is that you will NEVER have the money, time, resources, home or more settled life to accommodate having children—SO JUST HAVE THEM!!! 
7. Saturate your life with the inspired Word of God. Hearing the Holy Bible increases our FAITH! Romans 10:17, “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” When I say, “Word of God,” I am always referring to the inspired 'KING JAMES BIBLE'! Romans 12:1-2, “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” Our life is TRANSFORMED as believers, day by day, as we hear the Holy Scriptures, having our mind RENEWED by the Word! James 1:21, “Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.” The inspired Word of God rejoices my heart each day, shining bright in my soul, giving me 'UNSPEAKABLE JOY' in the Lord (1st Peter 1:7-9). 

I love you with God's unconditional love dear reader, and helping you is my heart's great desire. 2nd Corinthians 3:2, “Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men:” 1st Thessalonians  2:20, “For ye are our glory and joy.” And again we read in Galatians 4:19, “My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you,” I want you to get saved (if you're not), and know 100% that your name is written in Heaven as God's redeemed child. I want you to have the 'unspeakable joy' that I do in Christ Jesus.
