God Has Crowned Humanity With Glory And Honor

Psalm 8:3-5, “When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained; What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him? For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour. Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet: All sheep and oxen, yea, and the beasts of the field; The fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas. O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth!”

Dear reader, you and I are more special to God than we could ever possibly realize. The inspired Holy Bible says that God has created mankind a little lower than the angels, meaning that we are far more superior than we might think. The psalmist declares that God has crowned (encompassed) us with splendor and magnificence, giving us control over the earth. What a tremendous responsibility!
Psalms 8:5 Meaning

This verse is filled with profound meaning about human dignity and our place in God’s creation. It reflects how God, in His infinite wisdom, created us in His image and bestowed upon us a unique honor that sets us apart from all other creation. When it mentions that we are “a little lower than the angels,” it illustrates that humans hold a special status in God’s eyes. Our existence is not merely by chance but by divine design.

The phrase “crowned him with glory and honour” suggests that we carry a significant role in God’s plan. We are not just any creation; we are given purpose and value. Being crowned brings forth the idea of having a place of authority or importance. This recognition speaks to our identity — he has made us to reflect His glory. We can see this concept of worth echoed in Genesis 1:26, where God made mankind in His image and likeness, implying that we are created with great dignity.

. . . Psalms 8:5 truly encapsulates the remarkable truth of our identity as human beings. We are crafted by God, blessed with extraordinary worth, carrying His image into the world. Understanding this leads us to live in a way that glorifies Him, impacting those around us positively.

As we navigate life’s challenges, we should hold onto reminders of our value and the temporary nature of our struggles. Let us keep uplifting one another and growing in faith, knowing that we are crowned with inherent glory. Embracing our role in creation also brings with it accountability — to love, serve, and reflect the goodness of God in all we do. SOURCE

God wants us to understand our esteemed value in His sight, which changes everything if we realize what we mean to our Creator. If we realize that we are crowned with glory and honor, and that God loves us unconditionally, then we will live our lives accordingly.

Humans are a higher expression of God’s creation. No lower species has ever composed a song, written a poem, or made a cooking recipe. We are promised a brighter future through faith alone in Jesus Christ, crowned with the dignity and power of dominion that comes from our omnipotent Creator. Each of us is precious, made in God's image (Genesis 1:26-27).

With this precious Bible truth in view, it is difficult to see countless people being kicked out of today's worldly, corrupt and ungodly churches. I speak to their utter shame! Pastor Jack Hyles was right: “The Christian army is the only army in the world that kills its wounded.”

Dear reader, you are somebody to God. I read a T-shirt message about 30 years ago that a black girl was wearing at work, which read: “I am somebody cause God don't make no junk!” I like that a lot.

I subscribe to the Sword Of The Lord. I doubt if I will renew my subscription when it expires, because their publication has deteriorated far from what it once was when Dr. John R. Rice was its editor. Contrary to their slogan to earnestly contend for the faith, the Sword Of The Lord today is spiritually dead, woefully lacking of any fight anymore. The paper has changed its purpose to encouraging and pampering the saints, rather than fighting the good fight of faith.

That being said, in a recent issue of the Sword Of The Lord, I read an article by a pastor's wife in which she said that God doesn't need us. I couldn't disagree more. God does need us! What saith the Scripture? Ezekiel 22:30, “And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.” God is looking for a few weak men. 2nd Corinthians 12:10, “Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.”

God has wondrously made man a little lower the the angels. Mankind is brilliant, created in the very image of God our Maker. And yet, our faithful, good and gracious God understands our human weakness, temptations and frailties. Psalms 103:14, “For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust.” We are so unworthy and undeserving of such great incredible unconditional love. THANK YOU Lord for everything!
