'The Strand Study Bible' Is Superb

I took my vehicle (a Honda 2013 FIT) in yesterday for service. The dealership charged me $416.76 to change the engine oil and service the transmission (replace the fluid). I'm not sure if they ripped me off or not. They charged me $67.97 for the oil change ($32.36 for labor, $23.40 for OW20 FS oil, $11.64 for an oil filter and 57 cents for a 14mm drain washer). I think I'm going to look for a reliable local repair shop. Dealerships are always more expensive.

For the transmission service they charged me $290.63 [$161.50 labor, $122.94 for 9 (I think quarts) of transmission fluid at $13.66 each, and $6.19 for a 18mm drain washer]. Then they charged me $29.08 for, "Miscellaneous Shop Supplies." And finally they charged me another $29.08 for sales taxes. That all adds up to $416.76. Yikes! I'm just glad that the service is done and I don't need to be concerned about it. My front driver's side tire has been losing air for several months. I just keep filling it (about 10 psi per week) but they couldn't find a leak yesterday. So I need to go elsewhere.

Anyway, while waiting I read my cherished, "The Strand Study Bible," in the dealership waiting room and had a great time learning. Brother Strand was one of my favorite Bible professors at Hyles-Anderson College in the late 1980's. He was already laboring on his study Bible back then, which ultimately took him 33 years to complete (with 30,000 hours invested). Brother Strand has been a faithful Baptist pastor in Texas for many years now. The Strand Study Bible costs about $119 on Amazon, but you my fine non-feathered friend can read it ALL FOR FREE online.

I was reading from Genesis yesterday, in which Pastor Strand does an excellent job explaining the FIVE different theories of creation. Brother Strand believes in an old earth, as I do too.

Also, check out his comments for Isaiah 65:17 on creation. Pastor Strand is sadly right that most churchgoers merely go along with whatever someone else teaches them about young earth creation, without ever doing their own study to find the truth of an old earth. I guarantee you that 99% of people who follow the young earth fallacy are followers of Ken Ham, Kent Hovind, Henry Morris III or some other false teacher. Case in point is the shameful cult at Pensacola Christian College (PCC), who mindlessly follow unsaved infidel Ken Ham (who preaches the Devil's lie of Lordship Salvation).

As Brother Strand points out in Isaiah 65:17 and Exodus 20:11, the Bible says that God "made" heaven and earth in 6 days, it doesn't say He created it. Exodus 20:11, “For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.” The particular Hebrew word used here for “made” is
asah (pronounced aw-saw) which means “to do or make, in the broadest sense. I commend Pastor Strand for an excellent job done explaining the different views on creation. I humbly agree with him on an old earth.

I also learned yesterday from Pastor Strand that The Great Pyramid of Giza and The Great Sphinx were built BEFORE Noah's flood. Both of these mysterious architectural wonders show irrefutable signs of water wear, and that at one time they were completely submersed under water. AMAZING!!! Ken Ham gets this WRONG, claiming that these monuments were build after the flood. They were built BEFORE the flood, as Brother Strand teaches in his study Bible.

I cannot encourage you enough, if you desire to greatly learn fascinating truths from the inspired Holy Bible, to read: 'The Strand Study Bible.'

I also learned yesterday a great truth from Genesis 3:10. Even after Adam sewed fig leaves together to cover his nudity, Adam told God that he was hiding because he was still "naked." Adam recognized that his fig leaves were insufficient to cloth his nakedness for the sin he had done.

In Genesis 3:12, Adam blamed Eve, Eve blamed the serpent, but the serpent had no one to blame. Brother Strand says the closer that you get to the truth, the less excuses you have. Satan walks in the very presence of God (Job 1), so he has no room for excuses.

I also learned yesterday from Pastor Strand's book that there is no such thing as "cold." Cold is just a word we use to describe how we feel in the absence of heat. There is a limit to cold, which is -459.6 degrees Fahrenheit, but there is no limit to heat. Scientists tell us that the center of the sun is millions of degrees hot. There is no high limit to how hot something can get, but there is a limit to how cold it can get.

Likewise, darkness doesn't exist. Dark is not the opposite of light, but rather the absence of light. Light is visible darkness! And finally, there is no such thing as evil, but rather, evil is the absence of good. God is good. So, evil is the result of doing anything without God. These are philosophical truths which are very intriguing and fascinating. I enjoy reading The Strand Study Bible and I think some of you will too. Hey, it's free online!

On my way home yesterday, I went to Chipotle's restaurant for the very first time. Yummy! I bought their big burrito with black beans, mozzarella cheese, lettuce, tomato salsa, white sauce, et cetera). Wow, it was delicious! I don't consider Chipotle an authentic Mexican dinning experience, to be sure, but the food is pretty good, I humbly think. I saw the owner of Chipotle being interview on NBC news the other day and decided to go try it out. I was not disappointed, but the service could have been better, they messed up my order at first. I also got their Chips & Salsa and Chips & Guacamole sides, with an Organic Lemonade. I really enjoyed it! Thank you Lord.
