Capital Punishment Is Biblical

Genesis 9:6, “Whoso sheddeth man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man.”

The inspired Holy Bible teaches that there must be the death penalty. Sadly, our ungodly leader in the United States think they know more than our Creator. So instead of upholding capital punishment, they lock humans in cages for decades, or the rest of their earthly life. That is torture and unbiblical. God never intended for men to be locked in cages.

The Case For Capital Punishment

The Old Testament law commanded the death penalty for various wicked deeds: murder (Exodus 21:12), kidnapping (Exodus 21:16), bestiality (Exodus 22:19), adultery (Leviticus 20:10), homosexuality (Leviticus 20:13), being a false prophet (Deuteronomy 13:5), prostitution and rape (Deuteronomy 22:24), and several other despicable crimes.

However, God often showed mercy when the death penalty was due. David committed adultery and murder, yet God did not demand his life be taken (2nd Samuel 11:1-5, 14-17; 2nd Samuel 12:13). Ultimately, every sin we commit should result in the death penalty because the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23). Thankfully, God demonstrates His love for us in not condemning us (Romans 5:6-9). So we see that in some cases there are extenuating circumstances.

The court system should always be a balance of justice and mercy. Sadly, there is little if any mercy in America's courts. In fact, the United States incarcerates more of its citizens than any other country in the world! That disturbing fact speaks volumes about the wickedness of our leaders and society. The state of Florida is the worst of all! I am 100% against locking human beings in cages, which often drives people to insanity and utter depression.

What saith the Scripture? Ecclesiastes 5:8, “If thou seest the oppression of the poor, and violent perverting of judgment and justice in a province, marvel not at the matter: for he that is higher than the highest regardeth; and there be higher than they.”

We need to have a spiritual revival nationwide of LAW & ORDER in America.

I watched the 1996 science-fiction remake of “The Island Of Dr. Moreau” this week for free on Roku, starring Ron Pearlman (born 1950) and Marlon Brando (1924-2004). Halfway through the movie, the creatures learn to remove their pain devices which Dr. Moreau used to control them. When they invade his home and threaten to eat him, he gets his pain-causing control gadget and presses the button, but is horrified to realize that it doesn't work anymore on the creatures, because they've removed the pain-causing devices which had been implanted under their skin. Then one of the terrifying creatures (half human and half beast) that he made, says through sharp fangs while laughing: “If there is no more pain, then there is no more law!” And then they have a Smorgasbord and eat Dr. Moreau.

I thought about the scene that I just described from the movie, and realized that it very much applies to American society today in 2025. Without enforcement of the law to cause pain for evildoers, effectively there is no more law!!! That is why all manner of evil punks, illegal immigrants and the scum of society today have no hesitation to rob, kill, steal, hurt and destroy innocent people to get their selfish way. Without inflicted pain (justice), effectively there is no more law! Argue as one may, the daily news filled with crime proves what I say.

Oh, how foolish are mankind to disobey God. Judges 17:6, “In those days there was no king in Israel, but every man did that which was right in his own eyes.” Proverbs 14:12, “There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.” Our ungodly U.S. Supreme Court flaunt themselves over almighty God, who permitted 63,000,000 babies to be murdered by abortion between 1973 to 2022. They are guilty of making many such foolish rulings, which go contrary to the inspired Holy Bible. Why should God bless America? America will never be “great again” until we return law and order to society.

America was great when she was good, and she was good when she had great churches. It has become very difficult to find a great church anymore. Tragically, most churches today are pathetic. They preach a counterfeit plan of salvation of misunderstood repentance (i.e., turn from your sins to be saved heresy), or the Devil's fallacy of Lordship Salvation. They have replaced Bible preaching with psychology (e.g., James Dobson) or motivational speeches (e.g., Joel Osteen). They have replaced the Holy Spirit's power power with entertainment. They have replaced the old meaningful hymns of the Christian faith with lifeless lame Contemporary Christian Music (CCM). In a word, today's churches are DEAD.

Capital punishment is biblical. God gave us magistrate's (judges) as a blessing to maintain law and order in the land (Romans 13:1-10). Christians are not commanded to obey the government (as the corrupt modern perversions of the Bible read); but rather, the inspired King James Bible correctly commands saints to submit to the “higher powers,” God being the highest of all (Ecclesiastes 5:8).

And for that matter, the U.S. Constitution and our Bill of Rights (the first 10 amendments to the U.S. Constitution) are HIGHER POWERS than the U.S. federal government. Sadly, many of our ungodly incompetent leaders intentionally violate these documents all the time with impunity, which is why our country is falling apart. The U.S. Constitution and our Bill of Rights are only effective if our government honors their content and power, which were designed by our wise forefathers to preserve and protect true liberty. Anything otherwise is oppression and tyranny.
