Revelation 1:9, “I John, who also am your brother, and companion in tribulation, and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos, for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ.”
Sometimes a heavy burden comes to stay. I was severely rear-ended by a church bus in 1992. I didn't realize at the time that the accident had permanently misaligned my neck (medically called 'Reverse Cervical Curve'). This abnormal alignment of my neck caused undue pressure in the Thorax region of my neck, causing the disks between bones C5, C6 and C7 to slip and place pressure on my spinal cord.
In 2004, my neck finally gave way, and the agonizing pain and tension started in my neck, never to leave. My life has been adversely afflicted by my bad neck pain, burning nerves, both arms feeling inflated with air, tight tension in my neck, et cetera. This heavy burden is here to stay, it will never go away.
In this beautiful sermon, Pastor Hyles teaches: “Bible patience is when the burden is here to stay, and there's nothing you can do about it—it will never leave—and you hold up.” Amen! This needful sermon has my name written all over it, because of my debilitating neck injury that causes constant neck tension and pain which will never leave.

To make matters much worse, my former unfaithful wife selfishly abandoned and divorced me in 2006, leaving me to sink with the Titanic of our marriage, which is now at the bottom of the Atlantic ocean. For the past 19 painful years I have had to suffer alone—having no companion, no cheerleader, no nurse, no lover, no friend—but thankfully, Jesus' grace has been sufficient to sustain me (2nd Corinthians 12:9).
The following photo is an actual X-ray of the titanium surgical hardware that is permanently in my neck. My relentless constant neck pain and tension, and related bodily discomforts, make me long to go home to be with Jesus, because I spend a lot of time with Him, my companion in suffering. 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝟭:𝟵, “𝗜 𝗝𝗼𝗵𝗻, 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝗮𝗹𝘀𝗼 𝗮𝗺 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗯𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗯𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗱𝗼𝗺 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗝𝗲𝘀𝘂𝘀 𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁, 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗶𝘀𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝗣𝗮𝘁𝗺𝗼𝘀, 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗚𝗼𝗱, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗝𝗲𝘀𝘂𝘀 𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁.”

In his sermon, Brother Hyles quotes from 𝗟𝘂𝗸𝗲 𝟮𝟭:𝟭𝟵, “𝗜𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝘆𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘀𝗼𝘂𝗹𝘀.” Do not allow your burdens to control your behavior; you decide how you're going to act, don't react. Be your own man! If you too are suffering with a permanent burden dear reader, like I am, congratulations, because you are a member of the Companionship Club with Jesus Christ and all those who suffer with a burden that will never leave; it will never go away. Revelation 1:9, “I John, who also am your brother, and companion in tribulation, and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos, for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ.” Jesus is precious!
