I love the inspired book of Proverbs in the Holy Bible! I don't know about you, but in the past I have said some foolish things that I later wish I hadn't said. One of the many things that I love about God's book of Proverbs for humanity is that much is said about keeping one's mouth shut. Let's face it, we all tend to talk too much. I sometimes wonder if God made us with two ears and one mouth, to teach us that we ought to listen twice as much as we talk. The adage is true: You cannot listen until you are willing to hear.
Lord willing, I will turn 58 years old on March 5th, 2025. I've never been the type of person to make New Years resolutions, but I think it's a good idea to at least have some general ideas about things we'd like to improve each year. One of my goals each new year is to: SIN less, SAY less and SIT less! I learned this great truth from one of my favorite Bible preachers, Pastor Danny Castle, from his life-changing sermon titled: 'If I Could Live 2010 Again.'
Having said that dear reader, here is Alexander Scourby (1913-1985) reading the book of PROVERBS. I encourage you to bookmark this video and listen to it weekly from now on:
Proverbs
I just heard a precious Scripture read from Proverbs 29:10, “The bloodthirsty hate the upright: but the just seek his soul.” I love that! This is a beautiful snapshot of our dear Savior and Lord, Jesus. The Lord was hated by the bloodthirsty religious Pharisees and unsaved Jews, who were thirsty for His blood. That is, they were trying to murder Him (John 10:33). Yet, our beautiful Savior sought the salvation of their soul. I cannot think of a more appropriate verse to describe our precious Redeemer. After the brute Roman soldiers had spat upon, stripped naked, driven a piercing crown of thorns into His head, beat Him to a pulp and crucified Jesus upon a cross, and further humiliated Him by mocking and taunting Christ as He suffered in excruciating pain on the cross—Jesus uttered the astonishing words: “Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do” (Luke 23:34b).
Proverbs 29:10, “The bloodthirsty hate the upright: but the just seek his soul.” We should all learn a divine lesson from this Scripture. That truth is that even when wicked sinners torment, persecute and afflict is in their hatred for Jesus Christ (John 7:7), we ought to emulate our dear Savior's love and wisdom by seeking the salvation of their soul. That is, we should love them unconditionally with God's love. We should keep praying for God to convict their heart and work in their life to bring them to Christ.
We should view the unsaved who afflict us as being broken instead of bad. They don't fully realize what they are doing. What saith the Scripture? 1st Corinthians 2:7-8, “But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory: Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.” Before the Apostle Paul was saved, he was named Saul. As such, he relentlessly persecuted the Christians in his hatred. It is commonly believed that it was Paul (then Saul) who held the garments of the Jews who murdered Stephen in Acts 7. Acts 7:58, “And cast him [Stephen] out of the city, and stoned him: and the witnesses laid down their clothes at a young man's feet, whose name was Saul.”
I Was Persecuted For Decades In The Secular Workplace
If you are a born again Christian and you are living separated from this terrible world of sin—the world will persecute you (2nd Timothy 3:12). All my working life, for decades, I had been horribly persecuted in the workplace for my faith. If you are a Christian the whole world is waiting for you to fall. I had my work uniforms stolen twice when I worked as a mechanic. I had nude centerfolds placed on my locker. I found booze bottles in my toolbox. One man spat upon me in the workplace. My equipment that I was responsible to maintain was sabotaged to make extra work for me. One wicked man blocked the urinal and flushed it to flood the entire restroom while I was in there. One ungodly man stole my keys (car, house, et cetera).
Another unsaved man in his hatred for Christ threw a 3-pound sledge hammer at me and thankfully missed. Another man threatened twice to kill me. Thankfully he did it in front of an Operations Supervisor at the U.S. Postal Service when I lived on Guam. I filed an EEO (Equal Employment Opportunity) complaint because my rights were being violated and I was awarded $42,000 in damages in 2009. The Post Master was terminated for not doing his job. Sometimes you have to fight back or those evil punks would have had me fired, or worse. I led a co-worker to Christ at that job, and two more where I previously worked in Chicago. As a Christian you need to watch your back Jack! Abusive people will do to you whatever you let them do to you. Thankfully, unlike most places in the world today, we do have legal protections in America (unless you are a human being in your mother's womb, then you have no rights).
There is a fine line between faith and foolishness! I once knew a Caucasian young Christian man. He was taking a nap on the back seat on a church bus on Chicago's southside. Am ungodly minority punk gangster opened the rear door and crushed-in the entire side of that Christian young man's face with an aluminum baseball bat, while he was sleeping. The surgeons had to operate for several hours through his nose to reconstruct his left jaw. When I saw that young man with his face all wired shut, I kindly asked him if he called the police to file a report. He said he hadn't and wasn't going to. I was shocked and asked him why. He calmly said, “What would Jesus do?” Dear reader, that guy is a darn fool! By doing nothing he is ensuring that there will be further victims. That was about 35 years ago.
If you are a victim of a crime, you should call the police. God never intended for you to look the other way when a crime has been committed. Sometimes you need to fight back when you are in the right. There is another true adage: You must choose your battles wisely. I couldn't fight every abusive incident, every hurtful word and every injury in my life. In nearly every case it was my word against someone else's who had violated me, and the police or management couldn't do anything since there was no evidence.
Then again, in some cases I did have any evidence of abuse, but wicked managers looked the other way and didn't care, which is why I needed to file an EEO complaint in 2006 against my employer. I was being forced to struggle in a Hostile Work Environment, while a group of punks were having a fun time persecuting, stalking and harassing me, making my life hell on earth. God will also be their Judge.
By the way, just for your information, if you are ever being harassed or victimized by someone, keep a diary of every incident. Write down what happened, what was said, the date, time and place. Even though it will boil down to your word against someone else's, keeping a log of the incidents is powerful evidence if things escalate and the police need to get involved, or a lawyer or you go to court, like I did. I am so glad that I recorded every incident, writing down all the details. And if you are working in the workplace dear reader, you would be wise to learn about YOUR RIGHTS. Join the union if you haven't already, because that protects you. Learn the union book rules well and become an expert on policies, rules and laws which impact you. The old adage is very true: Knowledge is power. And if you are a working man with a family, you should learn all about the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA). You are entitled to take time off work, by law, to care for a pregnant wife, sick family members, et cetera.
We all need knowledge and wisdom, especially God's knowledge and wisdom. Someone has said that knowledge is knowing that a tomato is classified as a fruit, but wisdom is knowing not to put tomatoes in a fruit salad. I like that. Knowledge is knowing your rights in the workplace, and your rights as a citizen of the United States. Wisdom is knowing when to stand up for your rights and take the necessary action. People often feel fear and stress in the workplace because they simply don't know how to handle an ongoing bad situation. I didn't learn what my Bill of Rights was until 2001 when I started my Jesus-is-Savior.com website ministry. I was already 34 years old! That is sad. Do you know your Bill of Rights dear friend?
You Have Every Legal Right To Pray Out Loud Publicly
When I went to Norman, Oklahoma, in 1999 for job training, I was walking alone outside the facility on my own time, praying outloud to God as I walked. Two punk security guards approached me and said that a woman complained that there was "a crazy guy outside talking to himself." I was deeply hurt by his rude remark. They wouldn't tell me who the woman was. I had been walking alone on a big field with a walking pathway, and as far as I could tell there was no one else around. I told the guards that perhaps I had been praying, because really it was none of there business. They one thug guard violated my rights (but I didn't know it at the time) when he horribly said: "Why don't you go and pray in your room." I don't like police or security for that very reason, that many of them are abusive and bullies. So I ended my walk and went up to my room.
In hindsight 26 years later, I have often deeply regretted that I didn't know about my Bill of Rights back in 1999, because the first thing I would have done is continue praying outloud while I was walking, just hoping that those two stupid fascist guards did something to me. If they had, I would have had a million dollar lawsuit against the U.S. Postal Service! Folks, this is not communist North Korea. I was 32 years old at the time and ignorant of my rights.
Second, I would have called an attorney right away, to see if I could sue my employer for violating my rights to free speech and religion. You as an American have every legal right and protections to pray outloud in public. Effectively, if you don't stand up for your rights, you don't have any! We've all seen it with cops and security types—when someone gives them a badge and a gun with some authority—they abuse it; they become a fool with a John Wayne attitude, always looking for trouble and eager to bully others with their peon power.
Police Abusive Is Increasing Across America
For this good reason, for years now I have avoided big public events where there is an increased police presence and heightened security. There's just to many ungodly idiots with badges these days! That sadly includes interacting with the local police. When a punk stole my Amazon.com delivered package on May10th, 2024, I called the local sheriff's department. Two young goons came to my residence, looking like punk gang members. The female in particular was covered with ugly multi-colored tattoos all up and down her arms.
I live in West Pensacola, which is considered rural and not part of the official city of Pensacola, even though I'm just 10 minutes from downtown Pensacola. My address still says Pensacola. That's weird. Anyway, the female cop looked like a retarded circus clown! This is American society today, and it's a shameful disgrace. Ladies, please DON'T pollute your God-given fleshly beauty with manmade tattoos. As a normal man, and I can speak for men in general, I love plain old skin on a woman with no markings, butt-lifts, rhinoplasties or plastic surgery. I love a woman without any makeup, and a long dress turns me on more than a miniskirt does. Virtue and chastity are major turn-ons for real men. I digress.
I showed my home video security camera recording to the cops, in which you can clearly see the thief's face. To add insult to injury, when I told the police that Amazon kindly replaced the stolen $30 item free of charge, the cops said even if they did catch the thief, there was nothing that they could do. They said Amazon is the victim now, since they replaced the stolen item. That is so awful! Amazon would have to prosecute the thief. That is so messed up and corrupt! I complained about that to the Sheriff's Office too. I told them no wonder theft is so bad in West Pensacola, when the police are telling victims that there's nothing they can do! This country is getting worse and worse every day.
We All Need God's Wisdom
I could share hundreds more stories with you of disturbing things I've seen and personally experienced in my lifetime. One thing that I've learned is that I desperately need God's wisdom. The inspired King James Bible is our INSTRUCTION BOOK on how to live. The old adage is true: When all else fails, read the instructions. Most people will refuse to read God's Word until their life is in absolute shambles and everything is in chaos! It doesn't have to be that way dear friend. We all wise-up eventually. Wouldn't it be great if we'd wise-up before ruining our lives, and ruining the lives of others?
Proverbs 4:7, “Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.” Wisdom is the most important thing in a person's life, next to being born again so you can have eternal life (John 3:1-7). Knowledge can be acquired through learning (books, social media, college), perception (learning from watching others; their mistakes and successes) and experience (what happens directly to us); but wisdom cannot be acquired those ways, it is a gift from God. James 1:5, “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.” Have you ever asked God to give you wisdom?
I love the book of Proverbs! I just heard another great Scripture from Proverbs 29:20, “Seest thou a man that is hasty in his words? there is more hope of a fool than of him.” May we all learn to hesitate before speaking. I need to work on this for sure. I live alone without a wife, so when I am in the presence of people, I desire to talk as much as I can. That puts me in a more vulnerable position, so that I need to especially be careful what words leave my mouth. Jesus warned in Matthew 15:19-20, “For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies: These are the things which defile a man: but to eat with unwashen hands defileth not a man.”
My favorite Bible verse for many years now has been Proverbs 4:23, “Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.” The Hebrew word for “keep” in this verse is natsar, which means: “to guard, in a good sense (to protect, maintain).” This Scripture means to be on guard always! We must guard what we allow to enter into our heart, and what we choose to dwell upon in our thoughts (our heart), because such things will ultimately affect our behavior. Only a fool harbors hatred, lust, bitterness and anger on a continual basis. Life is too short to live with a burden of hatred.
There are numerous wicked religious people who have deeply hurt me, but I don't hate anyone. I have put them into God's hands for judgment (Romans 12:19-21; Galatians 6:7). Case In point, I loathe arrogant pastors like Marty Herron and Jeff Redlin who get paid sickening 6-digit salaries to corrupt people, who have no regard for the truth of God's inspired Word. Both of the names of contemptible false prophets I just mentioned preach the Satanic falsehood of Lordship Salvation. Jeff Redlin is the incompetent senior pastor of Campus Church at Pensacola Christian College. Look what evil doctrine PCC is teaching today! Pastor Redlin is a fool for bidding Godspeed to doctrines of devils (2nd John 1:11; 1st Timothy 4:1).
I heard Pastor Marty Herron with my own two ears, at the ungodly Harvest Baptist Church on Guam in 2014, tell hundreds of people in his Sunday morning sermon that it is not enough to admit being a sinner to be saved, but (he said) you must also forsake a lifestyle of sinning to get to Heaven. That is blasphemy against the truth of the Gospel! Pastor Herron is personal buddies with infidel Dr. Steve Pettit (the longtime incompetent president of Bob Jones University from 2014 to 2023). These men are evil. Look at the demonic Calvinist Lordship Salvation preached by Steve Pettit. This is exactly what Marty Herron and company teach. Dr. Herron quit as senior pastor of Harvest Baptist Church on Guam in 2018, and is now the horrible incompetent vice president of Faith Baptist Bible College And Theological Seminary in Ankeny, Iowa. These ungodly false prophets will take you to Hell forever with themselves, if you foolishly let them. RIGHT DOCTRINE MATTERS!
Dear reader, wisdom is having the courage to expose false teachers and their damnable lies. Proverbs 9:10, “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.” I fear God. Men who don't care about right doctrine, who choose to merely go along to get along with their corrupt neo-evangelical peers, do not fear God. For if they did fear God, they would heed THE TRUTH even if it meant standing alone as I have done all these many years.
In late 2014, I was banished from attending Harvest Baptist Church on Guam. My great fault was caring enough to befriend the ignorant pastors of Harvest with:
- THE TRUTH that Lordship Salvation is a perversion of God's grace
- THE TRUTH that the modern English Bible revisions are all corrupt
- THE TRUTH that Martin Luther (1483-1546) taught the damnable heresy of Baptismal Regeneration all his life and couldn't have been a born again Christian
- THE TRUTH that repentance does not men to forsake a lifestyle of sinning to get to Heaven
I was the only one who did the right thing at Harvest. I told THE TRUTH, but they wickedly counted me as their enemy (Galatians 4:16). Proverbs 17:13, “Whoso rewardeth evil for good, evil shall not depart from his house.” They rewarded me EVIL FOR MY GOOD! The wicked pastors at Pensacola Christian College did the same evil thing to me. As of August 2, 2022 I have been banned in writing from attending Campus Church. PCC and Campus Church have blocked me from even reading their Facebook pages. PCC's evil leaders rewarded EVIL FOR MY GOOD, which means evil shall not depart from PCC's house! Evil will not depart from Marty Herron's house. God's curse is upon these Lordship Salvation heretics! They all threw me under the bus for TELLING THE TRUTH!!!
Proverbs 12:19, “The lip of truth shall be established for ever: but a lying tongue is but for a moment.” I have told THE TRUTH that a free grace Gospel is biblical, but Lordship Salvation is a deadly perversion of God's grace. We find biblical proof that Lordship Salvation is false in Matthew 7:21-23. Those people boasted to Christ of having done not just a few, but “many wonderful works.” They also bragged about prophesying (preaching) in Jesus' name wherever they went. They bragged of casting out devils in Jesus' name. They called Jesus “Lord, Lord.” Sadly, they had never been born again. Jesus denounced them, literally calling them WORKERS OF INIQUITY. They failed to do the will of God to be saved, which according to John 6:40 is to BELIEVE ON JESUS. Satan's greatest weapon is to con people into living the Christian life without ever being born again (John 3:3).
Thank you for reading. Jesus is precious!
