One Million People Have Been Killed In The Ukraine War

John 3:3-7, “Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born? Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.”

The Wall Street Journal reported in September of 2024 that an estimated ONE MILLION people have been killed in the Ukraine War. According to Ukraine’s General Staff, as of October 1st, more than 654,000 Russian personnel have died. War is so needless and sad.

I was thinking tonight with a heavy heart, wondering how many of those one million dead soldiers and civilians were born again. I dare say not many. Jesus explicitly warned in no uncertain terms that “Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”

Churches all around the world are full of religious people, who are trying to live the Christian life, but have never been born again as Jesus commanded. There are over 41,000 different Christian denominations worldwide! That is astounding! Yet, despite there being an estimated 4,400 different religions, and thousands of denominations within each of those religions, there is ONLY ONE WAY TO HEAVEN—by faith in Jesus Christ!

Acts 4:10-12, “Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole. This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”

Salvation is NOT found in any religion; but rather, in a person—the Lord Jesus Christ. Galatians 3:26, “For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.”

Hundreds of millions of unsaved people falsely think they are going to Heaven, because they joined some religious organization, like Roman Catholicism. You cannot be born again by joining a church, a denomination, or an institution. You can only be born anew from above by faith in the only begotten Son of God, Jesus, the Christ.

Satan's greatest weapon is to con people into living the Christian life without being born again. Billions of people foolishly think that belonging to some religion, like Buddhism or Islam, will get them to Heaven. Unfortunately, that is not how you become born again by the Holy Spirit of God. Only by faith in Jesus can a lost sinner be saved. Only Jesus has the nail scared hands and feet.

Many hellbound church members have been lied to by a corrupt pastor, falsely told that you can get to Heaven by becoming a Christ follower, turning away from your sinful ways, or making Jesus the “Lord” of your life. You may do all of those things and yet never be born again. The only way to secure God's solemn promise of eternal life is to cease from all your own human efforts, and rest compleyely in the finished work of Jesus (Hebrews 4:10-11).

JESUS PAID IT ALL!!! Jesus paid your debt of sin and mine, through His crucifixtion on Calvary's cross, burial and bodily resurrection three days later. This is THE GOSPEL according to 1st Corinthians 15:1-4. Trusting in anything more than Jesus' death on the cross, burial and resurrection is a counterfeit plan of salvation, which cannot produce the new birth. 1st Thessalonians 4:14, “For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.”

My heart breaks for all those soldiers and civilians being killed in Ukraine. And now thousands of the North Korean soldiers who've joined the war effort are dying. I heard today that 1,200 Russian soldiers are killed each day in the Ukrainian conflict. Human life seems so cheap and expendable! Several thousand innocent Ukrainian civilians are killed each month by enemy mortars, missiles and gun fire. I hate war!

The $64,000 question dear reader is: Are you saved? Luke 13:23-24, “Then said one unto him, Lord, are there few that be saved? And he said unto them, Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.” This is one of the most disturbing passages in the Holy Bible. Jesus said that only a few people will be able to enter into Heaven in eternity. Jesus tells us one reason why in Matthew 7:13-15—because of FALSE PROPHETS. Only a few people will ever enjoy the splendors of Heaven.

Tragically, 99% of religious people have never been born again. They have been deceived by false bibles, false prophets, false gospels and false christs. To be saved you must believe on the true Savior—Jesus, the only begotten (biological) Son of God, the Christ (John 20:31). Some people (like Jehovah's Witnesses and Mormons) deny that Jesus came to earth as God in the flesh. If that is you, then you have “another Jesus” (2nd Corinthians 11:3-4).

I plead with you dear friend to settle the important matter of your salvation before it is too late. I highly recommend the helpful book by Michael P. Bowen titled, 'I NEVER KNEW YOU.' The book is based upon Matthew 7:21-23. Many people will seek to enter through those heavenly pearly gates someday, but will be denied entrance. Jesus plainly said in Matthew 7:21 that only by doing THE WILL OF THE FATHER can anyone be saved. We find the will of the Father in John 6:40, “And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.” Faith in Jesus is the ONLY way to Heaven!

We don't know how many of those one million deceased soldiers and civilians were saved, but the Bible says not many. That is so sad, but reality. I cannot do anything about those lost lives, but I can warn you dear reader. As long as you are breathing, there is still hope. Being born again is very easy. Simply believe that Jesus did it all for you through Calvary's cross. Rely in Christ alone for forgiveness of sins and eternal life and you will be instantly saved.

Salvation is not a reward for the righteous, it is a gift for the guilty! Salvation is not doing your best, it is having Christ's best put to your account through receiving Him by faith. Turning away from sinful ways would be a work. Faith puts all of the merit where it belongs, on the object of our faith—Jesus and His work. The true Gospel always points you to CHRIST; a false gospel always points to YOU.

The vast majority of religious people throughout the planet merely have churchianity without Christianity. I care about you dear reader. I don't want you to die in your sins and go to Hell forever. Ungodly neo-evangelicals in churches everywhere today are preaching a counterfeit plan of salvation of partial faith in Christ PLUS works. Turning from one's evil ways is works (Jonah 3:10). No one has ever been saved by works (Romans 3:19-20). The only saving Gospel is the truth that Jesus died on a cross to pay for our debt of sin. He was buried. Three days later Jesus resurrected from the dead for our justification. Those three things comprise THE GOSPEL: Jesus' death, burial and resurrection.

I am tired of hearing wicked pastors preach the lie that in order to get to Heaven, you must first be willing to forsake a lifestyle of sinning. That is reformation, not Bible repentance! The idea that YOU are obligated to give up something in exchange for God's free gift of eternal life is foreign to the Word of God.
