Trusting Jesus Is Not The “Second” Thing To Be Saved

Philippians 3:9, “And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith.”

Tragically, we've got a bunch of false prophets across America, who preach what the Holy Bible calls, “ANOTHER GOSPEL.” Galatians 1:6-9, “I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.” There is only one clear and concise Gospel.

One of the most deadly false prophets today is Evangelist Ray Comfort, who actually uses the phrase “LIVING A LIFESTYLE” while witnessing to a woman. In the following YouTube video clip, look at the BIG LIE Evangelist Ray Comfort tells this poor deceived woman passenger on an airplane. Kindly, Ray says that “repentance” means “LIVING A LIFESTYLE THAT PROVES THE REALITY OF YOUR REPENTANCE!” And then he adds, “IT'S A CONTINUAL THING!” Read for yourself what Mr. Comfort horribly teaches this woman, in this transcript from the Living Waters video:

“So if the plane goes down, you'd end up in Hell! There are two things you have to do to be saved. Do you remember what they are? I told you what they are—You've got to repent and trust the Savior! ... God's offering you everlasting life upon your repentance and faith in Christ. Who in his right mind wouldn't say, 'Whoa! That's a good offer!' (The curious woman asks what it means to “repent”?)... Have you ever said you're sorry to someone you did something wrong to? That's all repentance is—You've sinned against God; it's a matter of saying, 'God, I'm sorry,' and then LIVING A LIFESTYLE that proves the reality of your repentance. That's what repentance is, it's a continual thing! God, 'I'm sorry, but I'm not going going to lie or steal or blaspheme Your name ever again. It has that attitude! And the second thing—trust in Jesus!” [emphasis added]

Kindly said, Evangelist Ray Comfort is an unsaved infidel, a false teacher. Dear reader, trusting Jesus as your personal Savior is not the “SECOND THING” that you must do to be saved. This very question was asked by the Philippian jailer in Rome: “What must I do to be saved?” What saith the Scripture? Acts 16:30-31, “And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.” The answer is very plain to see. The Bible answer to “What must I do to be saved?” is to simply, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ.” This was NOT the second thing that Paul and Silas told the Philippian jailer to do, it was the ONLY thing!

Furthermore, I triple-dog dare you to show me even one verse from the inspired Holy Bible that teaches “LIVING A LIFESTYLE” of repentance is required as part of being saved. You cannot! Now my friend, “a double-dog dare” is serious business, but a triple-dog dare is something you don't want to mess around with! I triple-dog dare you to show me even one Bible verse that agrees with these false statements by Ray Comfort.

Ray Comfort Preaches a FALSE Gospel & Needs to Repent!

In the preceding video, at 09 seconds time in the video, Ray makes this heretical statement to the man: “Repentance is where you actually perpetually turn from sin.” That is damnable heresy!!! Ray is preaching 100% salvation by WORKS. Jonah 3:10, “And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them; and he did it not.” According to this passage turning from your sins is WORKS, and the Bible is explicitly clear that we are not saved BY WORKS, nor THROUGH WORKS (Romans 3:19-20; 4:4-7; Hebrews 6:1); but rather, but grace and through faith plus nothing (Galatians 3:26; Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:5).

Please understand that I am not saying Ray Comfort is insincere. Quite the contrary, I think he is very sincere, but what saith the Scripture? Proverbs 16:25, “There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.” It makes perfect sense to the natural (unsaved) man—to the carnal man—that one must forsake sinful ways as a prerequisite to get to Heaven. Surely a lost sinner cannot come to God, placing's one's faith in the sinless Lamb of God who was brutally crucified on a cross to pay for our debt of sin, while we still have a flagrant desire to continue living in sin. That is how guys like Ray Comfort errantly think. The truth is that Christ was sent into the world by the heavenly Father, to die on a cross to pay for everyone's sins (John 3:14-18). Christ died for our sins, because there is nothing we can do to remedy the debt we owe. Jesus paid a debt He did not owe, because we owed a debt we could not pay. What a precious Savior, Lord and God!!!

The Gospel of John is God's Gospel track. John 20:31, “But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.” PLEASE DON'T MISS THAT! God authored the Gospel of John specifically so “that believing ye might have life through his name.” That means we don't need any other Scripture than what is found in the Gospel of John to be saved.

Where in the Gospel of John are we taught that, “LIVING A LIFESTYLE,” is necessary to receive eternal life? You cannot! Mr. Comfort is a bold-faced theological liar! Ray is ADDING to the Gospel, perverting it! This means Mr. Comfort is accursed by God. Galatians 1:9, “As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.” I didn't say that, almighty God did!

Furthermore, where in the Gospel of John are we taught that to be saved, we must have a drastic change of attitude that is resolved to reform? Ray errantly says to be saved we must have the new attitude, “GOD, I'M SORRY, BUT I'M NOT GOING TO LIE OR STEAL OR BLASPHEME YOUR NAME EVER AGAIN!” And then he horribly says, “IT'S A CONTINUAL THING!” None of this is Biblical! There is absolutely nothing in the Gospel of John about having a sincere desire to reform our ways, clean up our life of sin, turn over a new leaf, do better, forsake the world, turn away from sins, nor any other garbage that false prophets are teaching nowadays in churches, poisoning people with their lies!

Actually, free Grace is rejected both by the world and fake Christians, so it’s not a popular belief. In fact, it’s the most unpopular belief even though free Grace is true. It’s absolutely the only way to go to Heaven. “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved” (Acts 16:31b). Having to “perpetually turn from sin” as Ray Comfort teaches is not repentance, it is reformation (works). Behavior modification is not part of the Gospel. What saith the Scripture? Isaiah 64:6, “But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.”

Tragically, Ray Comfort is preaching another gospel. When the Philippian jailer in Rome asked Paul and Silas: “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?,” their simple answer to: “BELIEVE ON THE LORD JESUS CHRIST” wasn't the “SECOND” thing they told him to do, it was THE ONLY THING!!!

Dear reader, you may be the only Jesus that someone knows. Pastor Dwight L. Moody (1837-1899) rightly said: “Out of 100 men, one will read the Bible, the other 99 will read the Christian.” That is absolutely true! Having said that as introduction, please read this:

While Gandhi was a practicing Hindu, Christianity intrigued him. In his reading of the Gospels, Gandhi was impressed by Jesus whom Christians worshiped and followed. He wanted to know more about this Jesus that Christians referred to as “the Christ, the Messiah.”

The Rev. Pattison tells the following story: One Sunday morning Gandhi decided that he would visit one of the Christian churches in Calcutta. Upon seeking entrance to the church sanctuary, he was stopped at the door by the ushers.

He was told he was not welcome, nor would he be permitted to attend this particular church as it was for high-caste Indians and whites only. He was neither high caste, nor was he white. Because of the rejection, the Mahatma turned his back on Christianity.

With this act, Gandhi rejected the Christian faith, never again to consider the claims of Christ. He was turned off by the sin of segregation that was practiced by the church. It was due to this experience that Gandhi later declared, “I’d be a Christian if it were not for the Christians.’“

I couldn't help but be reminded of the cold-hearted leaders at Campus Church and Pensacola Christian College (PCC). As of August 2, 2022 their rotten pastors have banned me from attending their church. It didn't matter that I apologized for criticizing them on social media, nor that I offered to do whatever they require to reconcile and make things right, they still refused. That is why we are enemies today.

Mahatma Gandhi was told he was not welcome (just like I was told I am not welcome), nor would he be permitted to attend this particular church (just like I am not permitted to attend Campus Church). If I didn't know any better, I'd never become a Christian because of the bigotry, hatred, Pharisaism and woeful lack of compassion for individual people at PCC. The way we treat people matters. It really does! People just want to be loved.

The Children Of Ephraim Were Prepared For Battle, But Turned Back In The Day Of Battle

Psalms 78:9-11, “The children of Ephraim, being armed, and carrying bows, turned back in the day of battle.  They kept not the covenant of God, and refused to walk in his law; And forgat his works, and his wonders that he had shewed them.”

Joseph was the son of Jacob and Rachel. Joseph was sold into slavery and taken to Egypt. Through the providence of God, Joseph ascended to become the governor over all of Egypt, second only to Pharaoh. Pharaoh gave Asenath to Joseph to be his wife. God gave them two children, which they named Manasseh and Ephraim. The descendants of Ephraim's became known as “the children of Ephraim.”

Our text passage from Psalms 78:9-11 says that the children of Ephraim were armed. They were prepared to go to battle, to war. They carried bow and arrows, which they were skilled at using. Yet, when the time came to go fight, they chickened out. They chose not to keep the covenant which God has made with His people, the Jews. The Ephraimites refused to obey God's laws, to walk in them.

This precious passage of Scripture sadly reminds me of today's spiritually dead churches and umpteen corrupt Bible colleges. Tragically, one corrupt Bible colleges adversely affects hundreds if not thousands of churches whom their graduates pastor and work in. Case in point is Pensacola Christian College (PCC). The PCC camp do not contend for the faith. I am not aware of even one PCC graduate who preaches against the demonic cult at Bob Jones University (BJU), a cesspool of the Devil's Calvinist Lordship Salvation heresy! I fully agree with Dr. Curtis Hutson (1934-1995) that 'Lordship Salvation Is A Perversion Of The Gospel.'

There are churches all over today who use the inspired King James Bible. Yet, when it comes time to contend for the faith, they chicken out. PCC uses the King James Bible, and they know the truth, and yet they pander to the ungodly BJU cult. The children of Ephraim were prepared for battle, but they turned back in the day of battle. Likewise, Christian pastors and laymen today have turned back from the battle. Instead of rising up to fight the good fight of faith, they are sitting idle for God. When they should be Standing On The Promises, they are idly Sitting On The Premises!!! Matthew 20:6, “And about the eleventh hour he went out, and found others standing idle, and saith unto them, Why stand ye here all the day idle?”

May we all be diligent to fight the good fight of faith, and not just let the world go to Hell unwarned. Every saint of God ought to be a soul-warner. Thank you for reading.

Psalms 119:11, “Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.”

I just memorized 1st Peter 1:7-9 today. I've been working on it for the past three days. What I do is listen to Alexander Scourby read the King James Bible. When I hear a Scripture verse or passage that burns my heart, I make a note of it. If I decide to commit it to memory, I take a pen and paper (like in the good old days) and I write the Bible passage down. I just take a regular sheet of white paper and fold it into four. Or sometimes I'll use a post-it for a short verse, but you can use anything really. I then stick that piece of paper into my pocket and carry it around with me wherever I go. I mentally keep going over the passage, looking at the paper when I get stuck, until I have it down pat. It works!

Here's what I finished memorizing today . . .

1st Peter 1:7, “That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.”

I encourage you to memorize God's Word. Only use the King James Bible!

The Importance of Abiding in the Holy Scriptures

In our text Verse from Psalms 119:11, the Psalmist (David) says, “Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.” What a precious truth! If our minds were filled with the inspired Word of God instead of aimless television, it would reflect in our daily lives. Proverbs 4:23, “Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.”

Philippians 2:5, “Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus.” 1st Corinthians 2:16, “For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.” Amen! The way you obtain the mind of Christ as a believer is to saturate your daily life with the Word of God.

Have you ever cherished the Word of God so much that it broke your heart? David was love sick for the Scriptures. Psalms 119:20, “My soul breaketh for the longing that it hath unto thy judgments at all times.” Oh, that the inspired Word of God meant that much to us as believers!

Here is a beautiful passage of Scripture. Notice the last line which reads, “LET THE WORD OF CHRIST DWELL IN YOU RICHLY IN ALL WISDOM” . . .

Colossians 3:9-16a, “Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds; And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him: Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all. Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness. And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom...”

Amen! If we want the mind of Christ, then we must wallow like a pig in mud, but instead in the Scriptures. John 5:39, “Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.”

Psalms 1:1-3, “Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.”

Do You Remember How You Were Saved?

1st Corinthians 15:1-2, “Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.” In other words, you've got to know what you're believing in to be saved. Notice that the Bible says we must “KEEP IN MEMORY” how we were saved. Otherwise, how can you say that you're saved, if you don't know what you're trusting in? The Bible says you've BELIEVED IN VAIN!!! Many people profess to believe in Christ, but they have no idea what they are believing in. This describes 90% of churchgoers today who profess faith in Christ. If their life depended on it, they couldn't tell you what they're trusting in to get to Heaven. The apostle Paul plainly preaches, “THE GOSPEL,” by which we are saved if we understand what we are believing in. What must we understand?

1. You must know that you are a guilty needy sinner in God's sight (Romans 3:19; 1st John 1:8-10).
2. You need to know what you deserve as punishment: Hell. There is a penalty for sin, which is death (Romans 6:23; Revelation 21:8). If you're not a hell-deserving sinner, then why would you need a Savior?
3. You need to believe that Christ died on the cross to pay for your sins.
4. You need to believe that Christ was buried.
5. You must believe that Jesus bodily raised up from the dead three days later. This is “the Gospel” according to 1st Corinthians 15:1-4.

The Bible teaches in 1st Corinthians 15:2 that if you cannot remember how you got saved, you never were saved, because you have believed in vain. How can you be saved if you don't even know what you're believing in? Believing in Jesus is not the Gospel. You must believe in the crucified, buried and risen Son of God to be saved. John 20:31, “But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.”

You Don't Have To “Get Out Of Your Sin” To Be Saved

Romans 4:3-5, “For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness. Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt. But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.”

In the following YouTube video, you will see two men arguing over which plan of salvation is correct. What the man in the grey hoodie is preaching is the same exact damnable heresy that Ray Comfort preaches, that you cannot live a lifestyle of sin and go to Heaven. ...

Street Preachers Got Really Mad at Me

The guy wearing the grey hoodie is totally WRONG! He insists that you have to: “Get out of your sin” to be saved. Dear reader, the truth is that we all live a lifestyle of sinning. Oh, yes you do; and so do I. We all sin every day, multiple times, whether in thought or in deed.

May I truthfully say, behavior modification is NOT part of getting saved. The guy with the grey hoodie errantly cites Hebrews 12:14 in an attempt to bolster up his strawman heresy that you must, “Get out of your sin to be saved.” What saith the Scripture? Hebrews 12:14, “Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:” Sadly, he makes the fatal mistake that so many unlearned Bible students make, by lifting a text out of context to create a new pretext (i.e., strange doctrine). If he would have just included the next two verse, then he would have found the proper meaning.

Carefully notice what the next couple verses read in Hebrews 12:15-16, “Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled; Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright.” The writer of Hebrews (whom I humbly think is the Apostle Paul) is quoting from Deuteronomy 29:18, “Lest there should be among you man, or woman, or family, or tribe, whose heart turneth away this day from the LORD our God, to go and serve the gods of these nations; lest there should be among you a root that beareth gall and wormwood;” The Bible is simply teaching in Hebrews 12:14-16 that if your testimony is poor as a believer that others around you will be adversely affected by it. You may be the only Jesus that somebody knows. Pastor Dwight L. Moody (1837-1899) rightly said: “Out of 100 men, one will read the Bible, the other 99 will read the Christian.”

SHAME on Pensacola Christian College (PCC) for preaching this same theological garbage, lying to people, telling them that if their behavior hasn't changed they didn't really get saved. That is Lordship Salvation! Many unsaved hellbound churchgoers live morally upright lives, they do “many wonderful works,” and preach in Jesus' name; yet they are fools, woefully ignorant of the Scripture, lost in their self-righteousness. Listen, anything that an unsaved person can do CANNOT be used as evidence of being saved. The ONLY thing that determines whether a person is saved or not is one's FAITH. 1st John 5:4, “For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.” Faith is the only righteous thing that I can do.

The True Meaning of Hebrews 12:14

It is tragic that John MacArthur and other heretics misinterpret Hebrews 12:14, claiming that it means you cannot go to Heaven unless you live a holy life. As I have shown you, that is NOT what it means. A Christian who hides his light for Christ and tarnishes his testimony by choosing rather to live in open sin, he becomes a root of bitterness to those around him; thereby many be defiled. When King David commit adultery and murder, his entire family and kingdom were adversely affected by his actions.

The guy with the orange Texas shirt is 100% correct. Pilgrim's Progress author John Bunyan (1628-1688) said it best:

“If you do not put a difference between justification wrought by the man Christ without and sanctification wrought by the Spirit of Christ within, you are not able to divide the Word aright; but contrariwise, you corrupt the Word of God, and cast stumbling blocks before the people.” —Evangelist John Bunyan

Pastor M.R. DeHaan (1891-1965) made this tremendous statement:

"There is a vast difference between coming to Jesus for salvation and coming after Jesus for service. Coming to Christ makes one a believer, while coming after Christ makes one a disciple. All believers are not disciples. To become a believer one accepts the invitation of the Gospel, to be a disciple one obeys the challenge to a life of dedicated service and separation. Salvation comes through the sacrifice of Christ; discipleship comes only by sacrifice of self and surrender to His call for devoted service. Salvation is free, but discipleship involves paying the price of a separated walk. Salvation can't be lost because it depends upon God's faithfulness, but discipleship can be lost because it depends upon our faithfulness." —Pastor M.R. Anybody who associates a change of behavior with the new birth is preaching another gospel. Sadly, the official doctrinal position of Pensacola Christian College (PCC) is, quote:

"Repentance is a change of mind resulting in a change of behavior."

That is another gospel. PCC is preaching a counterfeit plan of salvation. The Gospel does not teach partial faith in Christ plus works; but rather, childlike faith in Jesus' death on the cross, burial and bodily resurrection from the dead three days later (1 Corinthians 15;1-4).

Faith is the only righteous thing that I can do. Beginning at 1:34 time in the video, the guy wearing the grey hoodie says that if he hadn't forsaken his sinful bad habits in prison, he wouldn't be going to Heaven. That is justification by the works of the law, which is impossible (Romans 3:19-20). His defense is to misinterpret Hebrews 12:14, as I have just refuted. Satan's greatest weapon is to con people into living the Christian life without ever being born again. The guy wearing the grey hoodie is NOT saved. Nobody is saved who has partial faith in Christ, plus trusting in something else.

I am tired of hearing fools (e.g., the Bob Jones University cult) speak with a forked tongue. On one side they say that we are saved by grace alone, which is true. But then on the other side they utter lies, saying that you cannot be saved without forsaking your sinful ways, which is 100% WORKS. This is typical false prophet hypocritical lingo.

THE TRUTH my friend is that Jesus Christ came into the world to pay your debt of sin on Calvary's cross. Romans 5:6-9, “For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.” Christ died for the UNGODLY. That means you! That means me! That includes every human being!

No, you don't have to forsake your sinful ways to be saved, which would be WORKS. Getting saved is strictly a matter of you coming to God as a needy guilty sinner (Romans 3:19-23), and receiving Christ's sacrifice on the cross as payment for your sins, believing that He was buried, but then physically resurrected from the dead three days later. This is “the gospel” (the 'GOOD NEWS') according to 1st Corinthians 15:1-6. BELIEVE IT, Oh sinner, and you are saved!!!

John R. Rice's “Sword Of The Lord” Not KJV Only

Psalms 12:6-7, “The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.”

Someone sent me a blog today titled: “John R. Rice's "Sword of the Lord" Not KJV Only.”

Kindly, just because those believers joined together hand in hand doesn't make them correct. Dr. Rice didn't have the internet and exponential access to data that we have today. Dr. Hyles did flip-flop on the issue. In his early ministry Dr. Hyles corrected the King James Bible (e.g., in his book: Let's Study The Revelation), but then after Dr. Rice died Dr. Hyles became King James Bible only in the early 1980's. John R. Rice was 31 years older than Dr. Hyles, and Brother Hyles deeply respected Dr. Rice as a mentor, which he admitted on many occasions. I think Dr. Hyles went along with Brother Rice because he loved and respected him. They shared the pulpit together in over 2,000 preaching engagements, during their 22 years of traveling across the country as a team.

They did have a few feuds over the years. Dr. Rice wasn't the easiest man to get along with. Pastor Hyles once paid the Sword of the Lord tens of thousands of dollars to publish 7,000 Hyles Church Manual books, but the Sword messed up and the pages were not positioned correctly in the book. Dr. Rice wanted Brother Hyles to just insert a paper in front of the book explaining which pages were out of place. Dr. Hyles refused, saying to Dr. Rice that he was trying to teach his preacher boys to do things the right way, and that little things are important. Dr. Rice refused to do the right thing. So Dr. Hyles took the loss and destroyed the 7,000 books. Pastor Hyles bought his own equipment at Hyles-Anderson College and from that day forth they published all their own books.

Psalms 12:6-7 Has Been Corrupted In ALL Modern Bible Revisions

Anybody who foolishly thinks that only the originals were inspired is denying that God kept His promise in Psalms 12:6-7 to keep and preserve His “PURE WORDS” forever. It is so obvious that all of these modern Bibles have been corrupted. I am surprised how ignorant people are on the matter. No matter how much evidence I show people how corrupt these Devil's Bibles are, they want to argue and defend their 12 different conflicting Bible versions. It is wickedness and insanity. God is not the author of confusion (1st Corinthians 14:33). God would NEVER give us hundreds of English Bible revisions, all slightly different (some majorly different) to choose the truth from.

According to the American Bible Society (ABS), there are approximately 900 different English Bible versions. ...

I am afraid no one can give you an exact number for the English translations and paraphrases of the Bible printed since Tyndale's New Testament of 1526. In part this is due to the difficulty of determining what should be defined as a new translation as opposed to a correction or a revision of an existing translation. There is the additional question of how we should count translations that include not a complete Bible or Testament, but just a group of books or even a single book. And then, of course, there is the difficulty of sheer numbers. With all these caveats in mind, the number of printed English translations and paraphrases of the Bible, whether complete or not, is about 900. [emphasis added]

Wowza! 900??? Good night!

Sadly, I know Independent Baptist churches where multiple plans of salvation are permitted and taught. When I attended the incompetent Harvest Baptist Church on Guam from 2013 to 2015, their senior pastor Marty Herron distributed Calvinist materials by Dr. John MacArthur to church members. Yet, I ask for permission from Pastor Herron to pass out literature by Dr. Curtis Hutson and he instantly agreed. This convinced me that Pastor Herron (who is a neo-evangelical graduate of Bob Jones University) is ignorant of the Gospel.

Any pastor who is okay with multiple plans of salvation doesn't know what he is doing theologically, which I find to be the sad case with 99% of neo-evangelicals. Just so you can see for yourself, here is Dr. Hutson's plan of salvation; and then here is Dr. John MacArthur's plan of salvation. As you can clearly see, they are world's apart and cannot both be the truth.

Dr. John MacArthur is not a saved man. There is no way that MacArthur can be a born-again child of God, while teaching a 'partial faith in Christ plus works' false plan of salvation.

“Is it possible to obtain eternal salvation with no sense of the gravity of one's own sin and alienation from God? That is the implication of radical no-lordship teaching. But the predominate no-lordship view on repentance is simply to redefine repentance as a change of mind—not a turning from sin or a change of purpose. 

...Repentance is not just a change of mind; it is a change of heart. It is a spiritual turning, a total about-face. Repentance in the context of the new birth means turning from sin to the Savior. Get you a King James Bible and love it, defend it, cherish it, read it, mediate on it, memorize it, proclaim it, study it, obey it and abide (live) therein!!!!!!!

Dr. Shelton Smith is the editor of the Sword of the Lord today, and I think he is doing a fabulous job, taking the Sword of the Lord to a King James Bible only position, as it should be!

Please hear me out dear reader. I so much wish, hope and pray that professed Christians all across America would wake up to righteousness, and reject the modern Bible versions! The Hebrew word for “KEEP” in Psalm 12:7 is shamar, which means: “hedge about (as with thorns), that is, guard; generally to protect, attend to.” Notice my friend that GOD HIMSELF protects, guards and attends to His very pure Words, putting a divine hedge around them! Kindly, SHAME on Bob Jones University in South Carolina, and SHAME on Harvest Baptist Church on Guam, for wholeheartedly supporting the woeful evil of corruptible seed. YOU BE THE JUDGE dear reader! Two of those 12 PERversions are the ESV (which Bob Jones University shamefully sanctions, uses and sells; and the ERV (which Harvest Baptist Church on Guam shamefully sanctions, uses and sells). In the religious world of mooching off the churches, truth takes a backseat to making money for a living! It is sad but true that ecumenism and money are synonymous.

Churches and Bible colleges that desire to make money, sinfully dip their sails so that they tolerate, accept and go along with apostasy; and they refuse to criticize heresy and Satan creeping into their midst. These damned Bible revisions today are straight from the pits of Hell, but the average religious leader today is indifferent, complacent and a part of the problem. SHAME ON BJU!!! The King James Bible is Inspired by God

By “inspired” I simply mean that they are God's Words. Why is that so hard to accept? Sadly, 99% of today's clergy have bought into the lie, that only the original Words of God (which were spoken through the Holy Spirit to holy men of old) were inspired. Beyond that point, today's misled scholars claim that flawed and sinful human men attempted to translate the Bible the best they could, but failed to achieve a perfect translation. So, we are being foolishly led to believe today, that to find THE TRUTH we are at the mercy of hundreds of different Bible revisions. Now does that sound like something God would do in lieu of 1st Corinthians 14:33, “For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.”? As I showed you earlier, According to the American Bible Society there are now approximately 900 different English Bible versions, in part or whole. These translations are deadly. Most attack Jesus' deity and the Godhead.

Dr. John R. Rice was just a flawed and sinful man, just like Dr. Jack Hyles, you, myself, and everybody else on the planet. I humbly believe that Dr. Rice was wrong on the inspiration of the Holy Bible, by denying that we have an inspired perfect Holy Bible today. In his 1975 book titled, 'I Am A Fundamentalist,' Dr. Rice speaks highly of infidels Westcott and Hort, actually defending their heretical work in corrupting the Bible. Here, read what Dr. Rice says for yourself.

Now, in fairness to Dr. Rice, he didn't have the exponential wealth of information that we have today in 2023, because of the internet which has made the world a much smaller place. Modern mass-communication is nothing short of miraculous. I read a biography years ago about U.S. President George Washington during The Revolutionary War. I was amazed to learn that our nation's leaders sent important messages back in the 18th century, by means of horse riders. Literally, critically important information took days to get from one point to another, as a weary rider tread storms, heavy downpours, freezing cold winters, scorching hot summers and bandits along the journey. We are so blessed in these modern times, to just be able to pick up a mobile phone and call someone across the planet. A century ago making such a phone call could cost you upward of hundreds of dollars (or even more).

Dr. Rice is one of my mentors and I admire the man dearly. Albeit, my loyalty is to God, truth and biblical principles first. Dr. Rice was wrong on numerous issues. I think he was wrong about the age of the earth. Brother Rice foolishly taught that dinosaurs existed with man back in the Old testament, but that Noah just left them behind. That is absurd. Dr. Rice's successor, Pastor Curtis Hutson (1934-1995) taught an Old Earth, which is what I believe and teach. Psalms 102:25, “Of old hast thou laid the foundation of the earth: and the heavens are the work of thy hands.”

Dr. Rice also taught, in his book titled: “Dr. Rice, Here Are More Questions,” that it is a sin for a refined white woman to marry an unrefined Negro. Now, I don't particularly care for blacks and whites marrying either. In fact, it disgusts me to be honest. But what saith the Scripture? Hebrews 13:4, “Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.” Obviously, Dr. Rice wasn't correct on everything.

I am simply saying that John R. Rice made some errors in his doctrine. And so have I at times, which I had to change. I used to tell people to, "Ask Jesus into their heart," but then I learned from Pastor Max D. Younce not to do that anymore, because it is not biblical, and it confuses people (especially little children). A heart is a muscle about twice the size of your fist that pumps blood. So how do you invite Jesus into your muscle? It makes no sense to children. But any child can understand teaching them to put their trust in the name of Jesus, which is biblical (John 1:12).

Dear reader, I humbly believe that the King James Bible is 100% verbally (word for word), and plenary (the entire canon), inspired by God today, not just the original autographs. God said in Matthew 4:4, “But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.” If I am commanded to live BY EVERY WORD that proceedeth out of God's mouth (which is what the single word “inspired” means, God breathed, or God and air in 2nd Timothy 3:16; Greek: theopneustos), then I absolutely need AN EVERY WORD BIBLE.

Since all of the different English Bible versions vary in context and meaning, conflicting one another, they simply cannot all be inspired by God. Sadly, 99% of the clergy today would try to lead you to believe that none of them are inspired, in a wicked attempt to justify all of them. I hope you are not that foolish friend. Common sense tells us that in any particular language, there can only be ONE TRUE HOLY BIBLE.

Like all honest preachers will admit, Dr. Hyles changed his beliefs as he matured in the Lord. The following is a wonderful excerpt that I typed out from one of Pastor Hyles' sermons:

John 12:47-48, “And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world. He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.”

John 14:23, “Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.”

Folks, I'm going to go to seed [to become worn] before I die on defending this Book—I'm going to go to seed on it! I'm a little tired—by the way, every preacher in America, before he met a theologian, believed exactly what I'm preaching tonight! Theologians messed us all up—they messed me up for a while, I'll be honest with you—messed us all up! When I went off to college, I thought I had the words of God in this Book right here. When I was in college for awhile I found out I didn't. Not only that, I found out nobody did! Not only that, I found out you couldn't have them! Not only that, I found out there was no such thing as any book in all the world that had the words of God in 'em!

Mark 8:38,“Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.”

Folks, here's what's happening in America. The old-time preachers that built this country believed that this Book right here had the words of God in it! Your grandpa and grandma, that built this country, shed their tears on this Book, thinking they had the very words of God in their hands. And fundamentalists ALL believed what I'm preaching tonight, until we got our own Bible colleges, and seminaries, and sent our professors off to train at the feet of Karl Barth, and Reinhold Neuber, Emil Brunner, and others, who said that the Bible does not have the “words” of God, it is the Word of God, and that all the Bible is not inspired word-for-word. So we did not want to be considered “unintellectual” by the intellectual community; we're not willing to be called “nuts” and “fools”—just chalk me up as a nut! Chalk me up as a fool! Yea! Chalk me up as an uneducated illiterate if you want to, but I guarantee Ya—I'd rather study my A-B-C's in Heaven, then Greek and Hebrew in Hell!

So, just because Dr. John R. Rice didn't think that we have an inspired Holy Bible today, doesn't mean that he was correct. Nobody is always 100% correct on Bible doctrine. Even the best preachers sometimes make mistakes and get something wrong. That is why Jesus exhorted everyone in John 5:39 to SEARCH THE SCRIPTURES!!!Get into your Bible dear reader, and verify the things that your pastor, or some internet preacher, tells you, to make sure that you haven't been tricked.

Dr. Rice Defends One Alexandrian Perversion While Critiquing Others

Nevertheless, here are the shocking words of Dr. John R. Rice from 1975:

When Peter Ruckman sets out to say that only he and a few others in the world are right on the matter of manuscript evidence for the Bible and says that in the King James Version the translation itself was inspired of God and is without error and that all other translations, even the American Standard Version, are perversions; when he says that Origen and Westcott and Hort and others all united to pervert the Scriptures and go against the Bible and God and that all are modernists or hypocrites or ignorant who do not agree that the King James Version—even the translation—is inspired perfectly, then we know that that arrogant attitude, that calling of good men by bad names, shows the man cannot be trusted in doctrine.

Dr. Rice is so very wrong! We know from the evidence that Westcott and Hort were occultists, and DID go against the Holy Bible and God!!! Respectfully, Dr. Rice speaks double-talk. In the words to follow in his book (which I quote below), he explains that he is against any modern translation that attacks the deity of Jesus, yet the very Alexandrian texts that he just defended (the ASV) brutally attacks the deity of Christ in Philippians 2:6 and 1st Timothy 3:16. You can't have it both ways!

Dr. Rice goes on to state on page 74:

I can say I prefer the King James Version of the Bible. I think for general use it is the best. I use it continually in preaching, in study, in memory work. I read it almost exclusively in private devotions. But I know that translations themselves are not guaranteed by the Scriptures, and I know that sometimes the American Standard Version can give help in places where other translations are not perfect.

I wrote an important article back in 2004 exposing the corrupt American Standard Version (originally published in 1901, which is now in the public domain). Since the version copyright had expired, the publisher came along in 1960 with the “New American Standard Version” (NASB), which is even more corrupt than the ASV.

ASV and NASB are of the Devil, Both Translated from Alexandrian Texts

Take a look at a comparison below of Psalms 12:6-7 between the ASV and NASB. Notice that the ASV still correctly says God promises to preserve His WORD (“them”) unto every generation, but the NASB horribly gets it wrong, saying that God promises to preserve “HIM.” Who is “him”? All of the other satanic modern perversions say that God preserves the saints, not His words. It is obvious why Satan corrupted this verse, since there are literally hundreds of Bible versions nowadays...

American Standard Version (ASV) - Psalms 12:6-7, “The words of Jehovah are pure words; As silver tried in a furnace on the earth, Purified seven times. Thou wilt keep them, O Jehovah, Thou wilt preserve them from this generation for ever.”

New American Standard Bible (NASB) - Psalms 12:6-7, “The words of the Lord are pure words; As silver tried in a furnace on the earth, refined seven times. You, O Lord, will keep them; You will preserve him from this generation forever.”

I am saddened and amazed that Dr. John R. Rice ignorantly supported this wickedness, because he had the NASB to compare. I can only conclude that he was deceived by the Devil concerning the Alexandrian texts, as are most evangelicals today. No one is beyond being corrupted!

It is my humble opinion as a Baptist preacher that Dr. Rice was trying to appease some friends on the other side of the Bible issue debate, because birds of a feather flock together. The fact of the matter, as I evidence in my article above, that the ASV contains many of the SAME Alexandrian corruptions as all the other perversions. They remove the Trinity from 1st John 5:7, attack Christ's deity in 1st Timothy 3:16 and Philippians 2:6, remove Christ as Creator in John 1:3 and Colossians 1:16, and remove the blood of Jesus from Colossians 1:14. Need I say more? It is silly and hypocritical for Dr. Rice to defend one Alexandrian perversion, while defending another Alexandrian perversion. What was he thinking?

King James Bible - The ONLY Accurate Translation!

Anytime we tell the truth, someone is going to call us “crazy”! Festus told the apostle Paul that he was beside himself (nuts). Dwight L. Moody was called “crazy Moody!” 1st Corinthians 1:18 says that the preaching of the cross (i.e., the Gospel) is “to them that perish foolishness.” Dr. Rice in his book attacks Dr. Peter Ruckman as a “nut” for telling the truth about the Word of God. All of the modern Bible versions are of satanic origin! Even the New King James Version (NKJV), which allegedly has been translated from the Textus Receptus, has many of the Alexandrian corruptions in it! The ASV may be the least corrupted of the modern Alexandrian translations (which is why Dr. Rice picked it), but it is still of Alexandrian origin and corrupt to some degree. In hindsight, as viewed from the year 2018, we can now see a horrifying trail of collateral damage in the churches because of the modern Bible perversions!

Look at all the dying and dead churches today, and you'll find that they all have one thing in common, that is, a tolerance for the Alexandrian Bible perversions!!! I would have preferred that Dr. John R. Rice were a nut, than that he should defend the Devil's counterfeit Bible versions! Dr. Ruckman had some strange beliefs, such as that Old Testament saints were saved by works and faith (which is false), but he was 100% correct that the Alexandrian Bible versions are corrupted by Satan, and that we can trust our inspired King James Bible!!! So I gladly admit that if being loyal only to the King James Bible makes me a “nut,” then I'm as whacko as they come!!! I'm coco for cocoa-puffs!

One of my Facebook “friends” today unkindly called me an “ignorant man,” because I told her that she is wrong to deny OSAS (Once Saved Always Saved, i.e., Eternal Security). Dear reader, if you are not saved FOREVER you are not SAVED at all. Eternal Life is the believer's Eternal Security! These are not two separate Bible doctrines, they are one and the same. If you have been born again by faith alone in Jesus Christ, then you have Eternal Life, which is your Eternal Security. It is IMPOSSIBLE to risk, jeopardize or ever lose God's PROMISE (Titus 1:2) of forgiveness of sins and eternal life (Romans 6:23), which is by faith in the 'GOOD NEWS' (Gospel) of Jesus Christ crucified, buried and bodily risen from the dead the third day (1st Corinthians 15:1-4).
