Proverbs 14:12, “There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.”
Acts 20:21, “Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.”
2nd Timothy 2:25-26, “In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.”
I know that I write on the subject of repentance quite often, but it is necessary. Please bear with me dear reader. I like what the shepherd boy David said, when his brothers mocked him for going out to fight the giant Goliath: “And David said, What have I now done? Is there not a cause?” (1st Samuel 17:29). There is a cause! Today's churches are full of heresy, stiff-necked arrogance, misunderstood repentance, fake bibles and deadly false gospels. Worst of all, the churches are full of arrogant pastors. Proverbs 26:12, “Seest thou a man wise in his own conceit? there is more hope of a fool than of him.”
On July 22, 2021, I kindly contacted Pastor Jeff Redlin. Mr. Redlin is the senior pastor of Campus Church at Pensacola Christian College (PCC). In their official Foundation's Class at Campus Church, they teach, verbatim: “Repentance is a change of mind which results in a change of behavior.” That is WRONG! Repentance is a turn around from UNBELIEF to BELIEF. Our text Bible verses speak of “repentance toward God” and “repentance to the acknowledging of the truth,” but nowhere in the inspired King James Bible are we taught to repent or turn away from a lifestyle of sinning. Ungodly foolish men ADDED those words. Proverbs 30:5-6, “Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him. Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.” Jeff Redlin and Timothy Zacharias have added to God's Words.
Evangelist John R. Rice (1895-1980) is right that repentance necessary involves a change of attitude toward sin, but ONLY in the sense that you realize you are a needy sinner in the sight of a holy God. How do I know that? Romans 3:19-20, “Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God. Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.” The main purpose of God's Old Testament LAW is to give humanity THE KNOWLEDGE OF SIN. That is, you need to know what your being saved from to go to Heaven.
John 3:20-21, “For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.” The word “evil” means deliberate sin, or planned sin. To fly off the handle in anger is a sin of passion, because it wasn't intentional. But if you go home and get a gun to go murder someone, that is evil because you planned it. That is why all abortions are evil, because they were scheduled.
So the Bible is teaching in John 3:20 that everyone who loves to intentionally live in sin won't get saved, because they don't want there sinful behavior spoken against. Proverbs 30:20, “Such is the way of an adulterous woman; she eateth, and wipeth her mouth, and saith, I have done no wickedness.”
Sadly, most churches today are so busy playing church, that they don't care about contending for the faith anymore. They are as fools arranging deck chairs on the Titanic, while the damaged ship is slowly sinking into the cold and dark abyss of the ocean. Our churches are sinking, many already sunk 11,000 feet under the Atlantic ocean spiritually. But who cares, right? They are merely playing church at Pensacola Christian College (PCC), refusing to contend for the Christian faith. Consequently, they are changing for the worse, without even realizing it.. Proverbs 28:4, “They that forsake the law praise the wicked: but such as keep the law contend with them.” There is a lot more singing, fellowship and educating going on at PCC, then there is abiding in the inspired Word of God. For if they truly walked with God, spending time in His Word, then they would contend for the faith, but they don't.
Psalms 119:104, “Through thy precepts I get understanding: therefore I hate every false way.” I hate the false way of the Devil's Lordship Salvation. Therefore, I hate Bob Jones University, because they preach hardcore Lordship Salvation. I don't hare the people. God knows that I do not hate a single human being, nor any living creature. I have God's love shed abroad in my heart by His blessed indwelling Holy Spirit (Galatians 5:22-25). I love people, which is exactly why I make a big fuss over God's simple plan of salvation. Only a darn fool thinks that Lordship Salvation falls within the realm of orthodox theology. No, it does not!
Over ninety-five percent of churches and pastors today are cowards, who refuse to stand against anything! Well I'm standing!!! The Devil wants us to SHUT UP, but God wants us to SPEAK UP!!! I'm speaking up!!!
