Galatians 1:6-7, “I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.”
American founding father Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) once said: “He that lieth down with dogs shall rise up with fleas.” The Devil is subtle and wiser than you and I could ever imagine friend. Satan is a beautiful liar! The Devil has been successfully creeping into Pensacola Christian College (PCC) through means of fellowship with the unholy Bob Jones University camp, who have gone totally Calvinist! Calvinism (i.e., the heretical teachings of John Calvin, 1509-1564) are NOT the Gospel of free grace. Calvinism is partial faith in Christ plus works, which cannot produce the new birth by the Holy Spirit of God.
It makes me cringe in my church pew when preachers complicate the Gospel. Why can't they just teach people the truth that we are all sinners, and then lead them to Jesus the Savior? Why say the following kind of crap? This is what Pastor Tim Zacharias preaches:
Amen and amen! Pastor Ironside gets repentance 100% correct!!!
Clearly, Pastor Ironside taught a free grace view of the Gospel. Dr. Ironside correctly recognized repentance as the confession that "one is utterly without merit" and that if one is "ever saved at all it can only be through the merits of our Lord Jesus Christ." Salvation is without works of self-righteousness. Romans 4:5 plainly teaches that a man's faith is COUNTED for righteousness, i.e., the righteousness of Jesus Christ is imputed to one's heavenly record by faith.
“I need to be clear, there can be no salvation without repentance in the full moral sense. You need to be grieved about your sin. You need to come to a place where you understand the consequence of sin. You come under the condemnation and conviction of the law of God, and it causes you to change and to turn to Christ, and to call out to Him for salvation.” SOURCE: Pastor Timothy Zacharias, July 14, 2021 Wednesday night Bible study; Campus Church at Pensacola Christian College
Blasphemy!!! Where does the Bible teach that you must “change” to be saved? It does not. What does repentance “in the full moral sense” even mean? Zacharias didn't get that crap from the inspired King James Bible. Sadly, his boss Jeff Redlin 100% agrees with Tim. When I kindly confronted Pastor Redlin on July 15, 2021, in the typical cowardly fashion that the PCC camp is infamous for, he completely backed up Tim Zacharias, afraid to say otherwise lest he make a career enemy. Birds of a feather flock together! The PCC crowd are as wicked as the Bob Jones University (BJU) crowd, not only wickedly bidding them Godspeed (2nd John 1:11), but also preaching the same damnable Misunderstood Repentance (excellent by Dr. Jack Hyles) as BJU does!
When the Apostle Paul was sincerely asked by a Roman soldier in Acts 16:31, “What must I do to be saved?” The only answer Paul gave him was to: “BELIEVE ON THE LORD JESUS CHRIST, AND THOU SHALT BE SAVED.” Acts 16:30-31, “And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.” No mention was made of experiencing repentance “in the full moral sense.” I am so sick of theologians corrupting the Bible!!! You can keep your damn theology, just give me the inspired King James Bible!!!
What greatly saddens me is that literally, THOUSANDS, of impressionable young people are being brainwashed at PCC with a false gospel. Any time that ungodly false prophets separate repentance from faith, as an additional act to receive eternal life, they are preaching another Gospel. If repentance means anything more than a simple change of mind (Greek noun: metanoia) unto the Gospel itself, then it is a separate act from believing.
Kindly said, Pastor Zacharias has adopted the Satanic Calvinist BJU lie that repentance CAUSES YOU TO CHANGE—attributing some radical change of mind and heart toward your sin, so that a person is compelled to stop living a sinful lifestyle—as a requirement to receive God's free gift of eternal life by faith. This is NOT the Gospel which Jesus gave Paul (Galatians 1:12), which Paul proclaims plainly in 1st Corinthians 15:1-6:
1st Corinthians 15:1-6, “Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep.”
Carefully notice that Paul keeps repeating himself that the Gospel he is preaching is ACCORDING TO THE SCRIPTURES!!! What Campus Church is preaching is NOT according to the Scriptures, it is manmade commandments. What saith the Scripture? Acts 20:21, “Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.” Please notice that repentance is TOWARD GOD, not turning away from our sin.
What saith the Scripture? 2nd Timothy 2:25-26, “In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.” Again, please notice that repentance is simply to acknowledge THE TRUTH, not turn away from a sinful lifestyle.
Pastor Harry A. Ironside (1876-1951) said these great truthful words:
"Repentance is the recognition of my sinnership—the owning before God that I am as vile as He has declared me to be in His holy Word." SOURCE: Except Ye Repent, by Dr. Harry Ironside, chapter 3
Yes! Dr. Ironside further truthfully states:
"Repentance is the very opposite of meritorious experience. It is the confession that one is utterly without merit, and if he is ever saved at all it can only be through the merits of our Lord Jesus Christ, 'who gave himself a ransom for all.' Here is firm footing for the soul who realizes that all self-effort is but sinking sand. Christ alone is the Rock of our salvation." SOURCE: Harry A. Ironside; Except Ye Repent, pg. 36)
Repentance and faith are inseparable. The Gospel of John mentions the word "believe" 88 times; but the word "repent" is never mentioned even once. In genuine salvation, one who believes on Jesus Christ has repented, and one who repents has believed on the Lord Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins. This is VERY different than what Campus Church at PCC is teaching. SHAME on them! Like the Apostle Paul, I am set for the defence of the Gospel. Every child of God ought to appoint himself as a guardian of one, to stand guard against any tampering with the inspired Word of God or perverting of the Gospel of free grace. We've got too many fools behind the pulpit today, in both Bible colleges and churches. We must MARK and AVOID THEM, who serve only their belly for a paycheck (Romans 16:17-18). We must REBUKE THEM SHARPLY, that they might be sound in the faith (Titus 1:10-14).
You do not need to repent “in the full moral sense” to be saved, you simply need to BELIEVE ON THE LORD JESUS CHRIST (Acts 16:30-31). You don't need to repent “of your sin” to get to Heaven, you simply need to BELIEVE THE GOSPEL (1st Corinthians 15:1-6). Repentance is nothing more than the admission that you are a guilty needy sinner in the sight of a holy God. You see, you've got to see your need. You need to know what you are being saved from. You need to understand why you need a Savior. God never intended for anyone to attempt to keep His law to merit Heaven. No one has ever been saved by the works of the law:
Romans 3:19-20, “Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God. Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.”
When mankind tried to keep the law, he utterly failed. And so God had to introduce a system by which humans could be saved through faith alone, without works. Hence, God sent His only begotten Son, Jesus, into the world to die for our sins on the cross (John 3:16). The primary purpose of God's Old Testament law is to GIVE HUMANITY THE KNOWLEDGE OF SIN. That is, the awareness that we are all guilty sinners in need of a Savior:
Galatians 3:22-26, “But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe. But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed. Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster. For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.”
Please don't miss that last part. After faith is come, we are no longer UNDER a schoolmaster. That is, we are no longer under the curse of the law. We are now and forever UNDER God's saving grace, which is by faith alone in Jesus Christ!!! Dear friend, you are either now under the law, or you're under God's grace, but it cannot be by both. As we just plainly read, the person who has come to Christ as their personal Savior is NO LONGER under the power of the law. In truth, every believer falls IN GRACE, but never FROM GRACE. Only an unsaved person who knowingly rejects Christ has fallen FROM GRACE, that is, they have passed up their only way to Heaven. If a man refuses to come to Jesus to be saved, then it is his own fault (John 5:40). 2nd Timothy 2:13, “If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself.”
This is why what PCC and BJU are preaching is so dangerous, misleading their students to think that if your life hasn't changed (i.e., keeping the law), you didn't really get saved. This is the Devil's lie folks! The manner in which you choose to live as a child of God, has absolutely nothing to do with the gift of eternal life, which is by faith alone. We've got a bunch of ignoramus incompetent pastors, Bible professors, missionaries and clergy today, running around preaching another gospel.
They have complicated the easy, simple and free grace of God, adding an unbiblical requirement that you must first experience some radical change of mind toward your sinning habits to be saved. The change of mind to be saved must only be toward one's sin in relation to the Gospel (i.e., the light of The Truth, the Good News), and not toward one's sin in relation to anything else. If you have come to Christ as a needy sinner, and have placed your complete confidence in what He has done for you on the cross, believing that He is physically risen from the dead, then you have repented dear friend. Please don't let anybody else tell you differently. I love you all with Christ's love.
