Things That Are Different Are Not The Same

Ecclesiastes 12:10, “The preacher sought to find out acceptable words: and that which was written was upright, even words of truth.” Jeremiah 3:15, And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.” Jeremiah 10:21, “For the pastors are become brutish, and have not sought the LORD: therefore they shall not prosper, and all their flocks shall be scattered.” Jeremiah 12:10, “Many pastors have destroyed my vineyard, they have trodden my portion under foot, they have made my pleasant portion a desolate wilderness.

The pastor's job is to comfort the afflicted; the evangelist's job is to afflict the comforted. Evangelist Billy Sunday (1862-1935) was known for his offensive truthful preaching. God pity the preacher that the world don't hate. Luke 6:26, “Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets.” A Bible preacher is supposed to tell THE TRUTH, and the truth often offends sinful people. John 8:40, “But now ye seek to kill me, a man that hath told you the truth, which I have heard of God: this did not Abraham.Jesus preached the truth. The Apostle Paul preached the truth (Galatians 4:16).

Billy Sunday afflicted the comforted through his truthful preaching. My website ministry (which I started in 2002 by God's leading) offends a lot of people with the truth. I step on a lot of toes with my tough love preaching. I don't claim to be a good Christian. I am just a broken sinner like anybody else, who has made a lot of bad decisions during my life. I don't try to offend people with my articles. My only goal is to honor the Lord by helping people through giving them THE TRUTH. We all need truth. Jesus said in John 8:32, “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

We are living in perilous times. It is tragic that all across America, pastors who uphold the truth of God's Word concerning the sin of homosexuality are being banned from social media. Even as I type, I have to be careful what I say. Ultimately, censoring the truth doesn't change the truth, it simply brings further judgment upon the wicked (Romans 1:25, 32). Job 20:5, “That the triumphing of the wicked is short, and the joy of the hypocrite but for a moment?” The Bible teaches and warns in 1st John 2:17, “And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever. The will of God is to believe on the only begotten Son of God (John 6:40). That is how you get saved.

I love the first of our text passages, from Ecclesiastes 12:10. King Solomon said that the Preacher sought out to find acceptable words, even “WORDS OF TRUTH.” Truth is not relative, subject to change, it is absolute and unchanging. Pastor Bob Gray Sr. rightly says:

“If you're saved tonight, you don't want to hold the truth in unrighteousness. Error is change. The process of changing is what error is. You don't go from truth to error, you go from truth to change; and everything that is born of change is error. Now the further from truth you travel, the more error you have. Error is infinite; truth is finite. Error never stops; truth has its limits.” [emphasis added] —Dr. Bob Gray Sr., a great quote from the sermon, Truth Vs. Change.

Dr. Gray wisely understands the danger of change where truth is concerned. The Gospel is absolute truth. When men change the Gospel, embellishing it to say what God did not say, then it becomes error. Lordship Salvation is error! The modern Bible revisions are error! Before the year 1881 we had only the King James Bible in our churches. Today there are literally HUNDREDS of different Bible revisions for churchgoers to choose from. Satan is the author of confusion, not God (1st Corinthians 14:33). The sad reality that most pastors and churches today are tolerant of using dozens of Bible versions, evidences the incredible power of the Devil to deceive.

“The best thing in the world to do is stay behind truth. I don't care how much it hurts. I don't care how much pain it is. Or how much the kids don't like it, or anybody don't like it—YOU STAY BEHIND TRUTH!!! Why? Cause it's right! And it'll protect you! And if the leader goes down, the followers are gonna follow...” —Dr. Bob Gray Sr., a quote from the sermon, Truth Vs. Change.

I am now listening to a wonderful and needful sermon by Pastor Curtis Hutson (1934-1995) called: “THINGS THAT ARE DIFFERENT ARE NOT THE SAME.” I hope you will please take the time to listen to this helpful sermon. Dr. Hutson preached this life-changing message at the Southwide Baptist Fellowship on October 3, 1994. ...

“But we've so muddied the Gospel, that when men want to make a decision to trust Christ, we've made it so complicated that they can't make a simple decision to 'Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved.' We'll say, 'If you don't do this' or 'You don't do that' or 'You haven't done that,' you're not saved'; but the truth of the matter is that when asked in the Bible, 'Sirs, what must I do to be saved?,' one clear simple answer was given to him— 'Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved.'” —Pastor Curtis Hutson, “Things That Are Different Are Not The Same

Amen! The simple Gospel proclaimed in 1st Corinthians 15:1-4 is simply that Jesus died on the cross for our sins. He was buried. Three days later He resurrected bodily. Those three precious truths constitute “the Gospel” (meaning Good News). That is very different than Lordship Salvation. They are not the same. Look at what Pastor John MacArthur heretically preaches. Mr. MacArthur preaches an IMPOSSIBLE plan of salvation...

“The narrow gate is hard to find and hard to go through, because it demands: denial of self, denial of self-righteousness, recognition of sin, full repentance, submission to Christ, commitment to obey Him, and follow Him no matter what the cost!” [emphasis added] —Pastor John MacArthur, a quote from his sermon titled, “Saved Or Self-Deceived, Part One” (time: 4:25 in YouTube sermon video)

What you just read by John MacArthur is a very different plan of salvation than Acts 16:31b, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.Things that are different are not the same! My ministry is that of an evangelist preaching in cyberspace. I do comfort the afflicted with my preaching. I receive emails all the time from people, thanking me for settling their mind with the truth concerning assurance of salvation. Neo-evangelical religious leaders; namely, Ray Comfort, Paul Washer, John MacArthur, Marty Herron, Steve Pettit, Gary Walton, Sam Horn and countless other heretics—these men all have done major damage in the minds of millions of people, who live in fear of going to Hell because of the Devil's lie of Lordship Salvation.

Lordship Salvation is a theological lie that says faith is not enough to be saved. In addition, proponents of the Lordship Salvation heresy errantly teach that you must forsake a lifestyle of sin, surrender your will to Christ as “Lord (Master), exchange all that you are for all that Jesus is, live a lifestyle of repentance (avoiding sin), and follow Jesus no matter what the cost. These all have their proper place in the Christian life, but none of these comprise The Gospel.” You can do all these things and still never have been born-again at all (Matthew 7:21-23; Luke 13:23-24).

What's rotten is rotten and it ain't coming back. You can use salt to keep fresh meat from rotting, but once the meat rots, you can use all the salt you want, but the rotten meat cannot become fresh again. What's rotten is rotten and it ain't coming back!!! Bob Jones University is rotten to the core! Harvest Baptist Church on Guam is rotten to the core! Faith Bible College And Theological Seminary is rotten to the core! Moody Bible Institute is rotten to the core! The Master's University is rotten to the core! All the salt in the world won't take away the rot!!!
