Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.”
To be a friend (to assist) the world is to position one's self as God's enemy. It is not possible to make God hip and cool to the sinful world. The world will always be in conflict with the holy God of the King James Bible. I ran across this promotion on the internet today by John Lennon's widow, Yoko Ono...

The song's direct antecedent was an international multimedia campaign launched by the couple in December 1969 – at the height of the counterculture movement and its protests against America's involvement in the Vietnam War – that primarily consisted of renting billboard space in 12 major cities around the world for the display of black-and-white posters that declared “WAR IS OVER! That was their motto: “WAR IS OVER! If You Want It.” That is the problem, men want war, and always will in their sinful state. Jeremiah 17:9, “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?” There will always be war in the world until the sinless Lamb of God, Jesus Christ, returns and puts the Devil into chains in the Bottomless Pit for 1,000 years (Revelation 20:6). John Lennon couldn't even get along with the other three members of The Beatles. So how can he sing about the world getting along? The Gospel is the answer. Only through faith in Jesus Christ can a man receive the new birth. 2nd Corinthians 5:17, “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” Jesus Christ is the answer!!!
