Revelation 2:13, “I know thy works, and where thou dwellest, even where Satan's seat is: and thou holdest fast my name, and hast not denied my faith, even in those days wherein Antipas was my faithful martyr, who was slain among you, where Satan dwelleth.”
I have always been intrigued with this Scripture passage, which reveals that the Devil regularly attends church. It makes perfect sense when you think about it. Satan already owns the nightclubs, bars, taverns and casinos. Those worldly places cannot hurt the church. The pleasures of sin only last for a season. Low living comes at a high price! I recently did some research on Chicago's infamous gangster Al Capone (1899-1947). He lived such a short life, dying at only age 48. Capone died from advanced stages of venereal disease, which he caught from a sinful life of adultery. Syphilis ate his brain away! His reign of crime and sin-seeking pleasure only lasted 7 years, until he was sent to prison at age 33. His career as a criminal was over!
If I were the Devil. Hey, that reminds me of a speech given by Paul Harvey in 1965 titled, what else: “IF I WERE THE DEVIL.” If I were the Devil, I'd publish as many Bibles as I could, and I would keep publishing more, to confuse everybody in the churches and weaken their confidence in the infallibility of God's Word. I would recruit money-hungry Bible colleges, using the allure of having more students and increased revenues, to get those institutions to straddle-the-fence, don't stand for anything, use multiple Bible versions, et cetera. Sadly, everything is about money these days.
The churches are apostate because they keep hiring graduates from today's apostate Bible colleges, who are not truly qualified to pastor a church. Just because a man pays a bunch of money for a piece of paper called a degree, doesn't make him qualified to do anything! They were trained by academics, so they lack genuine love and compassion for others. Therefore, our churches are pathetic today! ...
“We are too busy to pray, and so we are too busy to have power. We have a great deal of activity, but we accomplish little; many services but few conversions; much machinery but few results.” —Pastor R. A. Torrey (1856-1928)
There is a woeful lack of love, concern and compassion for people in churches today. The Bible colleges are so focused on academics instead of soul-winning and helping people, that everything is about operating church-sponsored religious schools today, with the purpose of making money for graduates of today's apostate shallow religious schools. There is a woeful lack of genuine concern for hurting people.
“What we need in this generation, is for about 30,000 churches in the United States to go out of business, and just shut the doors, and let who mean business, get the power of God, and witness to this generation!” —SOURCE: Pastor Danny Castle, a quote from the awesome sermon, “How To Have Power With God!” | MP3 Sermon
I have been pleading for years to attend the Harvest Baptist Church on Guam. They forced me out in 2014 for trying to befriend them with the truth. Harvest uses multiple Bible versions. I showed them Pastor Al Lacy's excellent book called, "NIV: The Antichrist's Bible." The pastors of Harvest (all shameful Bob Jones University graduates) resented the book and accused me of causing confusion in the church. That is quite an allegation for a church that already has TWO DOZEN Bible revisions circulating in their pews on any given Sunday. Acts 19:32, “Some therefore cried one thing, and some another: for the assembly was confused; and the more part knew not wherefore they were come together.” Harvest's incompetent pastors have already utterly confused the congregation, I was simply trying to make sense of everything, upholding the infallibility of the King James Bible. I was sincerely trying to be helpful, as a true caring friend does. God knows my heart! I meant no harm. “Our church is cold,” complained a deacon to Dwight L. Moody. “What can we do about it?” “Build a fire in the pulpit,” ordered Moody!
But as time passed I became very lonely without a church family. Nearly all of my neighbours either work on staff or attend Harvest. I apologized for everything in 2017,humbling begging three times if I could please come back to attend church services and men's prayer meeting. Pastor Marty Herron said No! His exact words were: “Go elsewhere.” Because of Pastor Herron and Harvest Baptist Church's cruelty, I haven't attended church since 2017. I have nowhere else to go. Where dwelleth the love of God? There is no forgiveness or compassion at HBC. I have lived at my present residence for 7 years, since February of 2014. Harvest has never knocked on my door even once, to let me know that they care about me. Romans 14:10, “But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.” Harvest continues to sinfully ostracize me in 2021, refusing to allow me to come back to church, because they shamefully run the church like a country club instead of the house of God.
It is only by God's grace that I have hung in there, in desperation and loneliness, suffering in chronic neck pain from a bus accident in 1992, and a fall at work in 2004, and two failed neck surgeries in 2009 and 2010. We grow in grace, not in strength. God's goal is not to strengthen us, but to strengthen our union with Christ. Christ adds His strength to our weakness! The Devil's seat is in the church, and he is on staff at Harvest Baptist Church of Guam. Satan has compelled Harvest to use dozens of corrupt Bibles. Satan has duped Harvest to follow another gospel of Lordship Salvation, which is a perversion of God's grace. Satan has caused Harvest and their shameful pastors to reject their brother, casting him aside like garbage, simply because they personally don't like me. That is not a church friend, that is a cult.
“'Ichabod' will be written about the church that soft-pedals on unpleasant truth or that stands not unwaveringly for 'the faith once delivered.'” —Dr. Robert G. Lee, from the powerful sermon, PAYDAY SOMEDAY! | MP3
Satan's seat is in the churches, where he can do the most damage. Nothing is wrong with America today that couldn't be remedied by a generation of preaching preachers, who genuinely love and care about people, working hard like everything depends upon us, while praying like everything depends upon God.
“We're living in a different generation. ... They've been a whole new crowd come up in the last 15-years. And what's happened is our churches ... you listening to me? Churches have lost touch! Brother, we've lost touch! ... We're in a perilous time tonight. ... It's a dangerous time that you and I are living in.” —Perilous Times (by Pastor Danny Castle | Download MP3 sermon)
Sadly, we've got a bunch of salaried pastors who merely treat the clergy as a profession instead of a privileged calling. A church and it's pastors are only as right with God as they care about the most undesirable person in their community. You cannot pick and select who you love and care about, as Harvest Baptist Church on Guam sinfully does, and expect God to bless that kind of bad attitude. Satan's seat is in the church.
