When A Man Believes 1 + 1 = 3, You Need To Avoid Him

Proverbs 14:7, “Go from the presence of a foolish man, when thou perceivest not in him the lips of knowledge.” Isaiah 40:22, “It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in:” 1st Timothy 6:20-21, “O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called: Which some professing have erred concerning the faith. Grace be with thee. Amen.”

It amazes my mind that any man (let alone a Baptist preacher) could still insist in 2020 that the earth is flat, after being presented scientific evidence. David Hoffman is pastor of First Baptist Church, Lowell, Indiana, and producer of The Common Man's Reference Bible. As unbelievable as it is, Pastor Hoffman wrestles the Bible to teach that the earth is flat. I'm not kidding! Watch and hear Hoffman for yourself (please go to 17:32 time in the video to hear him ridiculously teach a flat earth from the Bible):

It disturbs me that many Christian believers today (out of respect for a sincerely ignorant man), fully support Pastor Hoffman. In the video Hoffman says: “I don't respect a dishonest skeptic.” I completely agree. But I also refuse to go along with a heretic in his honest ignorance, especially when his false teachings are driving people away from the Gospel. Any thinking rational person will reject a preacher who ignorantly insists that the earth is flat, which contradicts factual science on all levels. To endorse such a foolish man is to tell everyone by example that truth doesn't matter to you! A flat earth ideology is not a hypothesis (assumption without data), nor a theory (assumption with data), it is a blatant falsehood.

It should bother God-fearing saints immensely, that other professed Bible-believers would endorse such a man as David Hoffman, fully aware of his heretical teaching of a flat earth. Hoffman is harsh in his negative opinion of Christians who believe the fact of a sphere-shaped earth, calling us: “Globetards”! Hoffman's delusion just goes to prove how self-deceived anyone can become if they ignore the facts. What a waste of pulpit time!

It is a very big deal, because the notion of a flat earth is 100% able to be proven FALSE! It boggles my mind that anyone would be so foolish as to completely ignore verifiable science. To conclude that the earth is flat is just as foolish, sinful and bizarre as to believe the blatant lies of Evolution or Young Earth Creation (which claims that Noah took baby dinosaurs with stunted growth aboard the ark). If you believe any of that junk theology I feel sorry for you! I say this all with love and respect for others with whom I disagree, in Jesus' precious name.

“So, let's pray. Be faithful. Get your joy back! Read your Bible and pray until you get the joy of the Lord back in your heart! We ought to have the joy of the Lord. Keep your head above the water. Don't drown in the cares of this life, like the Bible talks about. Get you some victory. Get the victory through the Lord Jesus!” —Pastor Danny Castle, a quote from the sermon titled: “The Lost Generation
