The Way Of The Wicked Is As Darkness

Proverbs 4:14-23, “Enter not into the path of the wicked, and go not in the way of evil men. Avoid it, pass not by it, turn from it, and pass away. For they sleep not, except they have done mischief; and their sleep is taken away, unless they cause some to fall. For they eat the bread of wickedness, and drink the wine of violence. But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day. The way of the wicked is as darkness: they know not at what they stumble. My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh. Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.”

I wish everyone could know the joy, peace and confidence that I have in my heart toward God. You can have that too dear friend, but you cannot buy it. God cannot be bought, bribed or coerced into giving someone what they want. I am God's friend, and He is mind. You can only get that from spending time with Him, abiding in His Word and prayer. I do not claim to be a good Christian. In fact, I always feel like the worst Christian I know, because I know myself better than anyone else. God is so good, and I am so lacking in all that He desires for me to be. But I learned a long time ago that God doesn't expect me to be perfect, He just wants me to be honest with myself, to fear Him and keep His Commandments, and to stay hungry for winning souls, through the preaching of the Gospel. 

The most important things for every born-again Christian is truth, love and faith. Without those three things you'll never make it in the Christian life. Without the truth we are doomed like the neo-evangelical crowd, who are victims of the Devil's false gospel of Lordship Salvation. They walk in darkness the Bible says, knowing not at what they stumble. When you walk in the dark, you bump into things because you are blinded, not by the darkness, but by the LACK OF LIGHT! Don't miss that. Darkness is not the presence of dark, it is the absence of light! The best way to expose the dark is to shine the light! The same holds true spiritually! The reason why the world is in such a mess tonight, is not because of the presence of evil and crime, but because of a woeful absence of righteousness in the world!

Boy this is good stuff! I hope you're taking notes...lol. I had a Smorgasbord of truth today while listening to the book of Proverbs. “Smorgasbord” is a Swedish word for all you can eat! It's their word for pig out time! I am at least half Swedish, because my mother was from Sweden. I probably won't be able to visit Sweden in my lifetime, but I so much want to visit and spend some quality time there when the Lord returns. I have never been to Sweden. I love Swedish pastries! I heard this wonderful Bible verse today, proving what I say that darkness is the absence of light. Proverbs 13:6, “Righteousness keepeth him that is upright in the way: but wickedness overthroweth the sinner.” The way to stay right with God is not to avoid evil, but to pursue righteousness! The way to overcome Satan is not to resist him, but to submit to God. James 4:7, “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” 

When the Apostle Peter began to sink into the raging Sea of Galilee, his mistake wasn't looking at the storm, but taking his eyes off the blessed Savior (Matthew 14:29-30). The way to live right is not to merely avoid bad things, but to deliberately walk with God. I am not saying that we shouldn't depart fro iniquity as believers, we certainly ought to, I am saying that the way to stay right with God is to “live godly in Christ Jesus” (2nd Timothy 3:12). 

A man lives wrong because he thinks wrong! That is why the Bible tells every believer in Romans 12:2, “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” I don't care how messed-up your life may be, the road to recovery begins with renewing your mind with the Word of God. In other words, we all need to attend a Bible-believing Church. We need to hear Bible preaching by fundamentalist preachers, not these bozos who look like Shirley Temple and preach so sweet that even sugar wouldn't melt in their mouth! God help us! 

We've got a bunch of cotton-candy religion in the churches today—it tastes great at first, but then quickly dissolves into nothing! That sure describes neo-evangelical churches today!!! While millions of churchgoers gather around the Word to study it, the lost and dying world are perishing into Hell! Ladies and gentlemen, somebody's got to milk the cows! (an MP3 sermon by Pastor Jack Hyles). Somebody's got to get their hands dirty! Somebody's got to make a difference for Jesus Christ!!! If not us, then who? If not now, then when? If not here, then where? We've got too many professed Christians today who are sitting on the premises instead of standing on the promises! Amen! The Great Commission somewhere along the way became The Great Omission!

Please read two of our text Scripture verses again from Proverbs 4:18-19, “But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day. The way of the wicked is as darkness: they know not at what they stumble.” God is contrasting the TWO PATHS we can take in life. The path of righteousness of the just man, is illuminated by the light of the Word of God. As believers we don't go through life hoping, wondering and being confused about the things of God. That is why I am unalterably opposed to the Devil's modern Bible versions, because they cause nothing but uncertainty, worry and confusion in the minds of churchgoers! God only authored ONE INSPIRED BOOK, so how did we end up with HUNDREDS? That's the Devil for sure!!! 

God made a solemn promise in Psalms 12:6-7 to preserve and keep His very pure Words forever. That means we have those “very pure” (Psalms 119:140) words somewhere on earth today, and I believe I have those very pure words in the inspired King James Bible!!! Did you know that every modern Bible revisions changes and removes God's promise from Psalms 12:7, saying instead that God protects the saints, not His pure words. Why would the translators dishonestly do that? It is obvious, because if God only wrote and preserved  ONE BOOK, then we cannot have more than ONE English Bible version! They are liars! John 8:44 identifies the Devil as the father of all liars!!!

Everything in life boils down to the way a person thinks. Humans are a spirit living inside a body. Most people speak of body, soul and spirit. They mention the body first. But the Bible mentions the spirit first. Look for yourself in 1st Thessalonians 5:23, “And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.” That is very interesting! Man is a spirit in a body. The singer Sting from the band, 'The Police,' had it right in their 1981 song, 'Spirits In The Material World.' Man is a spirit in a body. When the body can no longer sustain itself, and life is gone, the spirit returns to God Who gave it (Ecclesiastes 12:7). Life is so short! I hope you are saved my friend, and living for the Lord Jesus Christ. If you are not saved, now is the time to get born-again!

Please notice that the wicked (or unregenerate) man aimlessly goes through life without spiritual direction, without purpose, without any hope, with no promise of a better future, an accident that is happening. Proverbs 4:18-19, “But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day. The way of the wicked is as darkness: they know not at what they stumble.” In the dark a person stumbles, not knowing what they are tripping over, because they have no light to see! Isaiah 9:2, “The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined.” That light is the inspired Word of God, that became incarnate in the Lord Jesus Christ. John 1:1-4, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men.”

The world is in a mess today, and it always has been. 1st Corinthians 2:14-16 teaches that the natural man (meaning the unsaved or unregenerate man) cannot understand the spiritual things of God. The saving Gospel is nonsense to them! 1st Corinthians 1:18, “For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.” I love the next Bible verse, because it helps put the world into perspective. 2nd Timothy 3:7, “Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.” I read somewhere years ago that the whole of man's knowledge doubles every eight years, exponentially increasing. Daniel 12:4, “But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.” We are beholding Bible prophecy unravel before our very eyes in the 21st Century. 

God is more than amazing! And He is a very good God!!! I just read yesterday that the James Webb Telescope is scheduled to launch in 2021. It was originally supposed to launch in 2017. It costs billions of dollars. I am excited about this new telescope, which will far exceed the capabilities of the Hubble Space Telescope. The images that will be sent back in 2021, God willing, to the earth from a million miles away, will no doubt be astounding! Mankind has achieved the technological ability to do this! Yet, man has not yet learned how to love his starving neighbour in Africa, and 10,000 children are dying each month from starvation. Americans spend $85 billion a year on sports! We spend $50 billion on our pets! We spend upwards of a trillion dollars on dining out and entertainment. The ungodly divorce racket takes in $50 billion a year in the United States. There's plenty of money to feed the poor in the world, we just don't care about them, but God does (Matthew 25:40-45).

The world continually tries to figure out what is wrong, and how to fix it, but without God. That is the worlds problem, they don't want God! You cannot fix the world's problems without God. Most people in the world want some form of god, but they don't want the true and living holy God of the Bible. This is why wicked unsaved men created the blatant hoax of evolution, to rid children's minds and society of the knowledge of God:

Romans 1:28-32, “And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.”

And we read this in Hosea:

Hosea 4:1, “Hear the word of the LORD, ye children of Israel: for the LORD hath a controversy with the inhabitants of the land, because there is no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of God in the land.”

Americans are stumbling in darkness because they reject God's knowledge (Hosea 4:6). Proverbs 13:15, “Good understanding giveth favour: but the way of transgressors is hard.” Thousands of our nation's ungodly pastors reject the inspired Word of God, instead embracing the Devil's Bibles, that pervert the true meaning of repentance, corrupt the Gospel, attack the deity of Jesus Christ, and secularize the Bible so that no man can be born-again from corruptible seed! Consequently, the Gospel of free grace in 90% of evangelical churches today has been replaced with the Devil's lie of Lordship Salvation, errantly requiring people to turn “from from your sins” to receive God's free gift of eternal life. Our country's churches are in big trouble today! Right doctrine doesn't matter to them anymore. They have become indifferent toward THE TRUTH!

Thank God for the small handful of soulwinning fundamentalist Churches that remain, most of which are independent Baptists, of which I myself belong! The Southern Baptist Convention has gone totally apostate, using the Devil's Bible. In 2017 the SBC published their new transgender-inclusive perversion called the 'Christian Standard Version' (CSB). The SBC now preaches hardcore Lordship Salvation, damning men's souls to Hell. Mankind is incurably religious, which is a hindrance to seeing and believing the Gospel of free grace. Thank God as redeemed saints that we have the indwelling Holy Spirit (God in us), and God's precious Word as a lamp unto our feet. Psalms 119:105, “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.”
