The Greatest Threat To The Gospel Is Ambiguity

Matthew 13:24-25, “Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field: But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.”

The greatest threat that exists is the Devil's constant attempt to embellish the truth, to make it ambiguous. The word “ambiguity” is defined as: “unclearness by virtue of having more than one meaning.” For example: In Pacific Garden Mission's 'UNSHACKLED' program #3589 (aired in 2020), a woman named Debbie Brooks meets with a religious friend named Sharon:

SHARON: Trusting Jesus is the only thing that can make a difference in my messed-up life. 

DEBBIE: I keep hearing that in church, but I don't get it—how something that EASY can be a life-changer. 

SHARON: Oh Debbie, it's not easy—believing in Jesus means repenting and asking forgiveness for all the old ways, and then GIVING THEM UP FOR GOOD. When you find the COURAGE TO DO THAT, He'll help you CHANGE YOUR LIFE. 

DEBBIE: Huh, well, I'll have to think about it. 

Dear reader, what you just read taught by Pacific Garden Mission in Chicago is of the Devil, straight out of the pits of Hell. I hope you see how evil this is. According to this perverted UNSHACKLED program, it is NOT EASY to be saved, because you are required to GIVE UP YOUR OLD SINFUL WAYS PERMANENTLY! That is “another gospel” accursed by God!

Galatians 1:6-9, “I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.”

Pacific Garden Mission are PREACHING ANOTHER GOSPEL!!! It is so very important that we as Christians, “Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found thy works perfect before God” (Revelation 3:2). That is exactly what I am faithfully doing with my ministry blogs, social media and websites. By God's grace, I am simply strengthening the things that remain. I am mashing on a lot of people's toes, like preaching against Bob Jones University, but it is only out of a sincere heart of love for God, truth and man that I do so. I care about you dear friend. Right doctrine matters! If your doctrine is wrong, you could end up in Hell like the people did in Matthew 7:21-23 and Luke 13:23-24. Please hear me out dear reader!

We are at absolute spiritual war today over the truths of the Gospel of free grace and the inspired Holy Bible. These two truths are inseparable! That is why I make such a big fuss over the purity of the Word of God. Please notice in our preceding text passage of Scripture, that the ENEMY came when men were SLEEPING, and sowed false seeds of corruption among the wheat. This is what has happened to most of our Bible colleges and churches in America. Bob Jones University (BJU) was at one time the citadel of Christian fundamentalism in the United States and the world. But today BJU preaches the Devil's lie of Lordship Salvation. My God, how did this happen? The Bible tells us. As Bob Jones' leaders and followers slept, the ENEMY (Satan and those who pervert the Gospel) came in unawares, and sowed their SEEDS of Lordship Salvation. What were those seeds? It was the perverted modern Bible revisions! 

Pastor Jack Hyles saw what the Devil was up to years ago, and preached a needful positional type sermon in 1994 called: 'THE BATTLE OF THE AGES!' based upon Genesis 3:15. It was God Himself who started the fight between INCORRUPTIBLE SEED (the Word of God - 1st Peter 1:23, Luke 8:11, John 1:1-3, 14, Revelation 19:13), and CORRUPTIBLE SEED (Satan's perverse seed, the modern Bible revisions). The “enemies” are the modern Bible translators and publishers, and the ungodly pastors and Bible colleges who support their evil work. I choose to be among the few remaining faithful believers today, who use, uphold, defend and love God's INCORRUPTIBLE SEED (by which every believer has been born again - 1st Peter 1:23). The modern revisions are CORRUPTIBLE SEED!

Whereas the inspired King James Bible is clear in its meaning, the Devil's modern Bible revisions are ambiguous, changing the truth of God into a lie (Romans 1:25). Most of the modern Bible versions errantly and dishonestly translate the word “repent” as a change of behavior. For example: The Easy-To-Read Version (ERV) changes the word “repent” in Mark 1:15 to “change your hearts and lives.” The word “repent” in the Bible concerning salvation simply means a change of mind, not a change of behavior. The modern Bible translators are corrupting the Bible to fit their religious agenda, not honoring THE TRUTH as it stands! In so doing, they have perverted The Gospel, teaching the Devil's lie of Lordship Salvation, which the Bible does not teach. 

Bob Jones University is leading the way in corrupting churches today, confusing everyone what the Gospel is. Pastor John MacArthur teaches a very different gospel than what the King James Bible teaches. Dr. Steve Pettit (president of BJU since 2014) has taken the college to a heretical position of full-blown Lordship Salvation. Yet you'll hear sermons about salvation by faith and through grace, which makes no sense at all. Even Romans 11:6 says this, “And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.” God's curse is upon Bob Jones University, and their graduates who support their damnable doctrines. Right doctrine matters! Ambiguity is the enemy of the Gospel. 

The Apostle Paul made very clear what the Gospel is in the Bible, so we don't need to be ambiguous about its meaning:

1st Corinthians 15:1-4, “Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:”

There you have it—Christ died on the cross for our sins, He was buried, and three days later Jesus resurrected physically from the dead. 1st Corinthians 15:6 says that over 500 people saw Jesus in just one sighting. Christ is risen! If you recognize your need oh sinner for the saving grace of God, simply receive Christ's sacrifice on the cross as payment for your sins. Believe that He was buried, then Christ bodily raised up the third day. Trust Him alone to pardon your sins. It's that simple to be saved. Eternal life is a free gift from God! Jesus paid for it with His precious blood. All you need to do is accept it by faith, by BELIEVING the Good News!

What you just read is very different than what Dr. Steve Pettit teaches at Bob Jones University. The Gospel as taught in the King James Bible is very different than what Evangelist Ray Comfort teaches. These are two VERY different ideologies that cannot BOTH be God's plan of salvation for man. Either you must be willing to forsake your sins to be saved (as John MacArthur and Ray Comfort claim), or you do not because it is a gift, but it CANNOT be both. Both may be, but at least one must be, wrong!
