Anybody who gambles is not good at math. Games of skill are fine (like athletics), but games of chance are sinful. Such behavior is very addictive. The house always wins! Gambling casinos NEVER take a loss. Their machines are set up with algorithms that take a percentage for the house, skimming off the top before you even get started. It is a dirty racket which should be illegal. Wherever you find gambling you'll find all manner of wickedness.
Gambling casino owners are always attempting to open up more casinos. Like the serpent in the Garden of Eden who came to Eve, so also do gambling casino establishment owners lie. They make promises of creating jobs for the local economy. They boast of the benefits to the local community. Just like the lying and deceitful serpent (Satan according to Revelation 20:2), casino owners paint a rosy picture of a really bad thing that can hurt the community, and destroy people's lives. Gambling by chance is sinful. Proverbs 1:19, “Surely in vain the net is spread in the sight of any bird. So are the ways of every one that is greedy of gain; which taketh away the life of the owners thereof.” Proverbs 15:27, “He that is greedy of gain troubleth his own house; but he that hateth gifts shall live.”
Everything evil in this world is something good which has been perverted. Sex is a good thing, but when it is practiced outside the bounds of a legal marriage it destroys lives. Immorality fuels the abortion industry. Only 4% of abortions are sought by married women. Sadly, 80% of all abortions are from single mothers. This proves why young people ought to get married first before having carnal knowledge (sex). We live in a very irresponsible culture in America. There is nothing as irresponsible as having sex outside of marriage. The heathen world continually downplays the sinfulness of immorality of all forms. 1st John 5:19, “And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness.” The world has always been a wicked place! Modern technology has simply enabled mankind to travel further down the road he was already on!
- Gambling is driven by greed, which God hates (1st Corinthians 6:9-10; Ephesians 5:5)
- Gamblers hope to gain money through the losses of others, but the Bible condemns coveting other people’s possessions (Exodus 20:17; Romans 7:7)
- Gambling can lead to addiction (1st Timothy 6:9-10)
- Gamblers often rely on superstition, gimmicks and luck. However, God views such practices as a form of idolatry, which is incompatible with His worship (Isaiah 65:11)
- Rather than promote a desire to get something for nothing, the Bible encourages hard work (Ecclesiastes 2:24; Ephesians 4:28; 2nd Thessalonians 3:10-12)
Satan is a beautiful liar! The Devil only shows people the neon lights and attractive glamour of SIN CITY, but he doesn't show you the hospitals, rehab centers, collection agencies, bankruptcies, prisons and morgues. The Devil doesn't show you the children now homeless, because their father gambled away their home and savings. I've read that at the back of every gambling casino in Las Vegas you'll find a little horrible room, where financial translations take place. That is what it's all about, filthy lucre! Be wise and don't gamble. A dollar saved is as good as a dollar earned.
