Seek God's Face Continually

1st Chronicles 16:11, “Seek the LORD and his strength, seek his face continually.

The Bible speaks of seeking GOD'S FACE. When God is pleased with a man, He turns His face toward him. Genesis 33:10, And Jacob said, Nay, I pray thee, if now I have found grace in thy sight, then receive my present at my hand: for therefore I have seen thy face, as though I had seen the face of God, and thou wast pleased with me. Jacob had seen the face of God, because the Lord WAS PLEASED with Jacob. Is the Lord pleased with you friend? Is God pleased with me?

What saith the Scripture? ...
Psalms 13:1, “How long wilt thou forget me, O LORD? for ever? how long wilt thou hide thy face from me?
Psalms 22:24, “For he hath not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted; neither hath he hid his face from him; but when he cried unto him, he heard.
Psalms 51:9, “Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities.
Psalms 69:17, “And hide not thy face from thy servant; for I am in trouble: hear me speedily.
Psalms 88:14, “LORD, why castest thou off my soul? why hidest thou thy face from me?
When we live in willful sin as His children, our heavenly Father turns His face away from us, expressing His disapproval. Isaiah 59:2, “But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.” Living in sin hinders answers to prayer! 1st Peter 3:12, “For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.” Over and over throughout the inspired pages of God's Words, we find mention of GOD'S FACE.” Is God's face toward you dear reader?

Deuteronomy 4:29, “But if from thence thou shalt seek the LORD thy God, thou shalt find him, if thou seek him with all thy heart and with all thy soul.” The Lord PROMISES us in His Word that if we seek Him, WE WILL FIND HIM! I love that reassurance from the Lord. God desires to be close to us as His children, as would any loving parent with their child. If we make an effort to SEEK THE LORD, He will run to meet us (as did the father running out to meet the Prodigal Son whom had returned).

Here is one of my favorite musicians, Calvin Yawn on YouTube, playing IN THE GARDEN on the piano...

James 4:6-11, “But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble. Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.” We have God's solemn PROMISE that if we draw nigh unto Him, then HE WILL draw nigh unto us too! Do you understand dear friend that God wants to be CLOSE to you?

1st Chronicles 16:11, “Seek the LORD and his strength, seek his face continually.Notice that we are to seek “HIS STRENGTH” as well. I need God's strength each day. This world is a jungle, cruel, woefully lacking in love and moral integrity; but our righteous God will never let us down! God's PROMISES in the Holy Scripture are 100% sure, reliable and guaranteed! Humanity will fail you. Family will disappoint you. Friends will let your down. Loved ones will betray you. Neighbors will despise you. What saith the Scripture? Hebrews 13:5, “Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.” The LORD never forsakes His own, no, not ever, no way, ain't gonna happen!!! Seek His face dear reader!
Numbers 6:24-26, “The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
When the Lord is pleased with us, He turns His face toward us, and we have His blessing. As a proud father turns His face in joy toward his earthly children, so also does our Heavenly Father lift His countenance in joy, toward them that obey Him
