Every Born Again Christian Has A License To Sin

1st Romans 6:1, “What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?”

John 2:1-2, “My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.”

I read much theological debate on social media over the phrase, “a license to sin.” This is an ongoing war between the 'Easy-Believism' crowd versus the 'Hard-Repenters' camp.

The Bible irrefutably teaches Easy-Believism (Romans 4:1-7). That is, any sinner can be saved by simply BELIEVING on the Lord Jesus Christ (Acts 16:30-31), by faith receiving Christ's sacrifice on the cross as full payment for your sins, believing that three days after was buried, He miraculously resurrected from the dead. This is 'THE GOSPEL' by which all who BELIEVE IT are instantly and permanently saved (1st Corinthians 15:1-6).

I love the Scripture passage in Acts 13:38-39, which boldly refutes the heresies of Lordship Salvation and Misunderstood Repentance. ...
Acts 13:38-39, “Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man [Jesus] is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins: And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.”
Amen! The moment that I was saved by faith in Jesus as a 13-year-old teenager in 1980, I was JUSTIFIED FROM ALL THINGS. Yes, that gave me a LICENSE TO SIN, if you will!

My ministry friend, Pastor Ralph Yankee Arnold, offers these edifying words on the topic...
“'You can't tell me you can trust Christ as Savior, and then go out here and live like the Devil, and still go to Heaven!' Yes, I can tell you that! That's what the Bible says. If you don't come to the conclusion, that—Yes, you can trust Christ as your Savior and live like the Devil, and still go to Heaven when you die—you don't get grace, because that is the exact truth! That is the truth! I do not have to change my life! I don't have to stop one sin! You say, 'I've never heard a preacher say that.' You just heard one! And you listen to me—I want to live as holy and as godly as I possibly can. I am now 70 years old. I've been saved for 52 years. ... the only reason I'm going to Heaven is because, 52 years ago in a little living room, I accepted Christ as my Savior.” —Pastor Ralph Yankee Arnold, “Calvinism And Grace Are NOT Compatible
Pastor Jack Hyles (1926-2001) wrote these helpful words...
“Let me say again that I do not believe for a second that Christian people should live like the Devil. No preacher preaches separation more than I do. I simply believe that that separation is a work of the Holy Spirit just like regeneration is a work of the Holy Spirit, and it starts after one has repented from that which makes him lost, and that is unbelief.” ―Pastor Jack Hyles, “Misunderstood Repentance” (chapter 4) from his book: “Salvation Is More Than Being Saved
I get tired of hearing well-meaning Bible teachers say that God doesn't give anyone a license to sin. Oh yes He does!!! Otherwise we'd all be going to Hell when we die. Now, God doesn't give anyone His blessing or permission to sin (Romans 3:31), but the day you trusted Jesus and were born again, you were JUSTIFIED FROM ALL THINGS, so that no matter how awful the sins are which you commit, or how often you choose to commit them, you are SAFELY and SECURELY saved. ONCE SAVED, ALWAYS SAVED is 100% biblical.

The truth is that every believer still continues in sin (Romans 7:14-25). No one is without sin. Even the best Christian still commits sin continually one way or another. As long as we are in the flesh we will commit sin (Romans 7:24; Psalms 130:3). Thank God that by faith alone in Jesus' precious blood we have been 'JUSTIFIED FROM ALL THINGS.'

Amen. It is a license to sin, because we need that license or we are going to Hell.

If we didn't have a license to sin from God, we'd all be going straight to Hell when we die, because everyone still sins (Romans 7:14-25). Jesus' precious blood is our license to sin as believers, but God plainly commands all saints to depart from iniquity (2nd Timothy 2:19). The Bible says in Titus 2:12 that Christians SHOULD live godly; not MUST (Catholicism); not WILL (Calvinism), but SHOULD (biblical truth). Believers who choose to live wasted lives of sin and shame will suffer loss of rewards at the Judgment Seat of Christ (1st Corinthians 3:11-15; 2nd Corinthians 5:10-11); yet so, saved as by fire (1st Corinthians 3:15).

Every saint of God falls 'IN GRACE,' never 'FROM GRACE'...
Romans 5:20-21, “Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound: That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.”
The only way that someone can fall 'FROM GRACE' is if you trust in the works of the law (e.g., turning from your sinful ways) to be saved. This is exactly what the Apostle Paul means in Galatians 5:4, “Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.” No one can be justified in God's sight by human effort (works). You must REST in the finished redemptive work of Christ alone (Hebrews 4:10-11).

And this is why we have peace. Romans 5:1-2, “Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.” Without the license to sin obtained by grace alone, how could we ever have the peace of eternal security? We couldn't. Lordshippers (or any other false religion for that matter) cannot have the peace that comes with free grace belief. The Gospel alone saves (Romans 1:16).

God doesn't want His redeemed children to commit sin, but we all do just that. “You mean I can get saved and still continue to sin?” Yes, that is what every believer does! The whole concept of requiring someone to “repent of your sins” to get to Heaven is inherently flawed, because at best all we can do is clean up our life of filth.

You can give a filthy hog a clean bath, use perfume and then tailor some nice clothes to spiffy up Mr. Piggy. But the moment you release him, he's going to head for the nearest mudhole to wallow in, because that is his nature as a pig. Likewise, to insist that an unregenerate (unsaved) man first commit to reform his life of sin (as a prerequisite) to receive God's free gift of eternal life is ridiculous, because the unregenerate (unsaved) man cannot overcome sin in his own strength.

I get so upset with Pacific Garden Mission (PGM) in Chicago, who've produced the toxic religious 'UNSHACKLED' radio program since 1950. The episodes are intriguing, but their plan of salvation is FALSE. Lordship Salvation is a counterfeit Gospel! SHAME on PGM!

Their favorite Go-To Scripture passage is 1st Corinthians 5:17, “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” But carefully notice dear reader that this Bible verse only applies to the man who is ALREADY saved. He is “in Christ.” PGM heretically puts the cart before the horse by frontloading the Gospel, demanding mature character traits from someone who isn't even born again yet. It is religious nonsense! You get saved by coming to God “AS IS,” believing that Jesus did it all for you through Calvary's cross. It's that easy to be saved.
“The wickedness of a life has not one thing in this world to do with where you go when you die; not one thing!” —Pastor Jack Hyles, “Religion Or Christ?
If you don't believe that a saved person can continue living a wicked lifestyle of sinning, then you are denying the grace of God by which all that believe are justified from all things” (Acts 13:39b). We all have a license to sin under God's grace, but that doesn't give us the Lord's permission or blessing to use it. What many people utterly fail to understand is that going to Heaven is a free gift obtained through childlike faith in Jesus (Romans 6:23); whereas living the Christian life is strictly a matter of service and discipleship (Romans 12:1). One thing has nothing to do with the other.

One of my favorite preacher quotes is from Pilgrim's Progress author John Bunyan, emphasizing the importance of keeping salvation completely separate from service...
“If you do not put a difference between justification wrought by the man Christ without and sanctification wrought by the Spirit of Christ within, you are not able to divide the Word aright; but contrariwise, you corrupt the Word of God, and cast stumbling blocks before the people.” —John Bunyan (1628-1688)
Yes, Bravo! The false doctrine of Lordship Salvation is caused by confusing service with salvation, combining discipleship with sonship. This often happens when sincere but misled Bible students cite passages about “picking up one's cross from the Gospel of Matthew, instead of staying within the Gospel of John. God authored the Gospel of John specifically to show the reader how to have eternal life, which is through faith alone in His only begotten Son Jesus Christ (John 3:16-18).

Salvation is all about God's grace, not your good behavior. You simply cannot be good enough to please God (Isaiah 64:6). You need to understand that you don't need to be good to enter into God's Kingdom, you must be 100% sinless and perfect. Obviously that is impossible, which is the whole reason why Jesus died on a cross 2,000 years ago—to pay our debt of sin, so that by faith we could spend eternity with Jesus (who is God). Jesus is precious!!!
