God's Hatred For Sin Hasn't Changed

Romans 1:27-32, “And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.”

In April of 2025, I had an unpleasant conversation with Pastor Brad Moffett at the Family Baptist Church in Pensacola, whose ungodly meddling wife and fool for a father have him henpecked. In that horrible meeting, Pastor Brad censured my website ministry at Jesus-is-Savior.com and other ministry websites since 2002.

Specifically, one of the issues he made a fuss over is my truthful Bible preaching that the sin of homosexuality should be a crime punishable by capital punishment (Leviticus 20:13; Romans 1:27-32). To clarify, lest some ungodly hater misquote me, I believe only the government has the power to make and enforce such laws. I do not believe that anyone should ever take the law into your own hands. Sadly, our government increasingly refuses to punish crime anymore.

According to Pastor Brad, the Old Testament was a theocracy, which doesn't apply today. He cited Romans chapter one, pointing out that God gave them over to their sins instead of killing them. Pastor Brad said this proves that adulterers and homosexuals shouldn't be executed today in the New Testament. But I asked him about the sin of murder. If we ought not punish homosexuals and adulterers as criminals, then why punish murder as a crime? Why punish pedophiles and pederasts? Do you see my point?

I asked Pastor Brad what gives us the right as humans to second guess God's inspired Word, to take it upon ourselves to arrogantly pick and choose which sins should be punished as crimes. He didn't have an answer. Dear reader, adultery, homosexuality, pedophilia, rape and other heinous sins ought to be punishable by capital punishment. And if our state and federal government were of the godly sort, these sins would be punishable crimes. In the wicked state of Maryland, they mock God by punishing adultery with a mere $10 fine. To have such a glib and impudent attitude toward a sin for which God requires the death penalty is BLASPHEMY!

Ecclesiastes 8:11, “Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil. Take a good look at what lawlessness looks like in the United States, because it's going to become much worse! The inspired King James Bible plainly warns that if the punishment doesn't fit the crime, humans (especially youth) will be motivated to commit more crimes. And so it is today.

Call me old-fashioned and outdated, but I humbly still believe that the horrible sins of adultery, homosexuality, rape, pedophilia and murder should impose the death penalty. What gives mankind the right to punish first-degree murder, but not the other sins? What gives the state of Maryland the right to impose an insulting $10 fine for committing the sin of adultery, when God demands the death penalty (Genesis 9:1-5)? I humbly reject the corrupt theology which says that the worst of sins were only punishable under an Old Testament theocracy.

In the story of Jesus and the woman caught in the very act of adultery, it wasn't His jurisdiction to decide (nor even comment) concerning what should happen to her. The Lord showed mercy. We also clearly see that the hypocrites who dragged her to Jesus failed to bring the man with her. They did admit catching her in the very act of adultery. So why didn't they bring the guilty man? This is corrupt human justice—always partial, unfair, rigged and biased.

I find no place in the inspired Word of God where it teaches that crimes which were punishable by the death penalty under the Old Testament, ceased from being punishable crimes in the New Testament. If our legal system punishes convicted first-degree murderers with the death penalty (and it should), then so also should other serious sins be deemed as crimes punishable by death. The Holy Bible already specifies which sins require the death penalty.

It is only because we live in a wicked world where ungodly crimes such as abortion (which is first-degree premeditated murder) is legalized. When the corrupt U.S. Supreme Court in 2022 overturned Roe vs. Wade 49 years after it was passed into law in 1973, I knew that the Abortion Pill would surplant Roe vs. Wade, and I was absolutely right! All that happened in 2022 is that the federal government dumped the decision to legalize or outlaw abortion back to the individual states. In 1971, only six states permitted abortion, and New York was the primary culprit. 81% of all abortions happened in New York prior to Roe vs. Wade in 1973. The Abortion Pill has become so convenient that you can purchase it at Amazon.com without a prescription. THE ABORTION PILL IS WICKEDNESS!!! If you are pregnant ladies, please be very careful about who you accept drink or food from, because people can be evil.

My biggest argument with those naïve pastors and Bible students today who claim that adultery, homosexuality and rape should not be punished with capital punishment, is that we have no right to pick and choose which sins should be punishable by death. We are not God, so we have no right to decide how to better punish criminals. It makes no sense to insist upon the death penalty for murderers, which imposing a mere slap on the wrist for other serious offenses. The problem (if you haven't figured it out yet dear reader) is that humans do not hate sin and evil as much as our holy God does. We hate and condemn murder, while approving abortion. We hate murder, while approving of homosexuality. We condemn murder, while letting rapists go free with a light sentence. What hypocrisy!

If it is true that today's court system shouldn't legally punish homosexuals and adulterers, then why punish anything? What gives mankind the right to selectively pick and choose which sins we think should receive capital punishment? In the year 1963, homosexuality was still a punishable crime in all 50 states, and as recently as 2012 in Texas. God hasn't changed we have. The United States has gone to ruin in sin because of our situation ethics and rebellion against a holy God. Oh what a tangled web we weave, when at first we work to deceive.

While doing some research for this blog, I noticed that BibleHub.com and GotQuestions.org both heretically teach that murder and adultery were only punishable by death in the Old Testament under a theocracy. I couldn't disagree more! Thankfully, there are some countries today who uphold rule of law—where the sins of adultery, murder, homosexuality, pedophilia and rape are still punishable by death. Call me what you will, I believe in having a strong government where sin is not tolerated.

Here is Duck Duck Go's A.I. generated answer as to whether adultery should be punishable by death today...
The death penalty for adultery in the Old Testament serves as a stark reminder of the holiness of God and the seriousness of sin. It underscores the need for atonement and the ultimate fulfillment of the law in Jesus Christ, who offers forgiveness and redemption. The shift from law to grace in the New Testament reflects the transformative power of the Gospel, which calls believers to live in righteousness and purity, empowered by the Holy Spirit.
Okay, if that be true, then why does the government punish murderers? Why not just show mercy and grace and let them all go, giving them a second chance? Do you see how unjust and hypocritical we are as humans? We condemn one group of sinners while affirming another. We condemn Jesus while excusing Barabbas! The old adage is very true: Justice is very human. That is, human justice is often unfair, lopsided and ridiculous, if not inexistent altogether. We are still waiting for justice for the 9/11 victims. The families of 343 NYFD firefighters, and the courageous firefighters themselves, are still waiting for justice!

That being said, I DON'T think it is ever biblically appropriate to take the law into our own hands as citizens. That is why we have a legal court system and established laws, to punish crime. The Bible teaches that when the punishment doesn't fit the crime, it causes crime to increase exponentially. Ecclesiastes 8:11, “Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil.If you don't believe the Bible in this matter friend, then take a good look at what lawlessness looks like in cities across the United States today. Where is justice?

I mentioned earlier that Pastor Brad Moffett attempted to use Romans chapter one as proof that God doesn't want homosexuals executed today. But please consider that the Lord didn't kill sodomites in the Old Testament either. The Lord commanded godly kings (authority) such as Josiah to drive wicked sinners out of the land. Our U.S. federal government has utterly failed to punish evil. The fact that the 9/11 criminals (e.g., Dick Cheney Donald Rumsfeld and George W. Bush) are still at large proves my point. They are ABOVE THE LAW of man, but not above the law of God (Ecclesiastes 5:8). PAYDAY SOMEDAY!

Our founding fathers had all convicted homosexuals castrated. I read that in the 19th century an 7-year-old boy named Michael Hamond and his 11-year-old sister Ann Hamond were hung in King's Lynn, Norfolk for stealing a loaf of bread. That is insane! I don't know if this story is true, but I tend to believe it. I do think man can go too far sometimes in his quest for justice. Why decides? You? Me? The Scripture teaches an eye-for-an-eye and a tooth-for-an-tooth. In the New Testament Jesus taught 'THE GOLDEN RULE' in Matthew 7:12, to do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
