Jack Chick (1924-2016) was an artist, not a preacher, and he got the Gospel wrong. According to Mr. Chick, admitting you're a sinner is not enough to get to Heaven, he requires that you also be willing to turn away from your sins. Not one verse in the inspired King James Bible teaches to "repent of your sins" or "turn from your sins" to be saved, ungodly religious men added those extra words and requirement.
NO ONE has ever turned from their sinning. At best all we can do is clean up our life of sin, reform in the eyes of men, and walk uprightly to hide our sinful heart; but we would still be just as a vile, unholy, unclean and sinful in God's sight. THE ONLY thing that makes the best Christian on the planet any more righteous than Jeffrey Dahmer or John Wayne Gacy (both convicted mass-murderers) is the precious blood of Jesus that washed all our sins away (Romans 5:9).
In other words, we are only made righteous by GOD'S RIGHTEOUSNESS (which is imputed to every believer by faith at the time of the new birth - Romans 4:5-6). With this great fundamental biblical truth in mind, it should become obvious what is so wrong about Jack Chick telling lost sinners that they must be willing to reform (i.e., turn from their sins) to be saved. A willingness to self-improve has no place in God's simple plan of salvation. Sadly, Jack Chick was a false prophet, responsible for misleading millions of lost sinners concerning how to get to Heaven.
