The Massive Rise Of Calvinism In The United States

John 12:32, “And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.”

1st Corinthians 1:18, “For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.”

1st John 2:1-2, “My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.”

One of my favorite writings exposing the falsehoods of Calvinism is a booklet by Pastor Curtis Hutson (1934-1995), titled: 'Why I Disagree With All 5-Points Of Calvinism.' As a born-again Christian myself (since age 13 in 1980), and as a fundamentalist Baptist preacher, I have clearly seen the downfall of America's churches over the past 40 years into the depths of demonic Calvinism. A very popular falsehood today being taught in the churches is something called “Lordship Salvation,” which is really just Calvinism repackaged.

I found the following intriguing article from Religion News Service:
Southern Baptists Agree To Disagree Over Calvinism
(RNS) Southern Baptists have been divided over Calvinism since their denomination began in 1845, but top leaders say disagreements had deepened with a "vitriol that is nasty."

June 11, 2013 | by Adelle M. Banks

(RNS) Can’t we all just get along?

That was the question that Southern Baptists, torn between Calvinists and non-Calvinists, seemed to be asking as they opened their two-day annual meeting in Houston.

Frank Page, president of the Southern Baptist Convention’s Executive Committee, created a 19-member advisory committee that produced a report in time for the meeting called “Truth, Trust and Testimony.”

Southern Baptists have been divided over Calvinism since their denomination began in 1845, but Page said Monday (June 10) that disagreements had reached a tipping point.

“The truth is, I see an anti-Calvinism now that frightens me; it’s a vitriol that is nasty,” he said, adding he also has friends who were concerned about “extreme Calvinists.” “So it was my opinion that we need to deal with this. … Trust is hitting a new low.”

Calvinism, based on the teachings of 16th-century Protestant Reformer John Calvin, differs from traditional Baptist theology in key aspects, particularly on the role of human free will and whether God chooses only the “elect” for salvation.

The 3,200-word report calls for mutual respect among the differing factions, saying opponents should talk to each other rather than about each other, especially on social media. Churches and would-be pastors also need to be honest about whether they embrace or shun Calvinism, it said.

“We agree that the Gospel should be proclaimed to everyone, but we differ as to whether or how every hearer will be enabled to respond,’’ the report says.

In a brief presentation on the report Tuesday during the SBC meeting, Page prayed that its message would be heeded.

“When we are tempted to talk about each other and at each other,” he prayed, “may we be reminded of your call to Christian civility.”

The document urges Southern Baptists to move beyond arguments to agreement on spreading the gospel.

That article hits the nail on the head! Calvinism has crept into most churches in America. Sadly, this is true most of all in Baptist churches. This is so heartbreaking!!! I have attended numerous Baptist churches, where the Gospel is no longer preached. Instead, they have deteriorated into a religious cult, teaching a form of Calvinism instead of God's simple plan of salvation. The most popular Calvinist heretic today is Pastor John MacArthur. MacArthur boasts of being a devout 5-point Calvinist.

(an awesome video sermon by Pastor Ralph Yankee Arnold)

I chose a few Bible verses for our text passages. If we simply take the inspired King James Bible at face value, and not read between the lines what God does not say, there is absolutely no way to conclude any of the heresies of John Calvin.

For example: Calvin's first tenet of his 5-points is the doctrine of the "Total Depravity" of mankind. Pastor Harry Ironside (1976-1951) once addressed John Calvin's teaching, and explained to the audience what he did and didn't agree with. Dr. Ironside said that he agrees that humanity is totally depraved, so that God must draw sinners to Christ to be saved. Not surprisingly, devout Calvinists worldwide (and still today in religious circles everywhere) try to paint Harry Ironside as a mild Calvinist. Sadly, Moody Bible Institute in Chicago is guilty of this sin as well, trying to turn Dr. Ironside into a Calvinist, which he most definitely was not.

In fact, I agree with Pastor Ironside's view of the total depravity of mankind, because he simply believed that a man must be drawn to Christ. What saith the Scripture? John 12:32, “And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.” Calvinists go astray when they falsely teach that God only draws SOME MEN (to the Calvinist only Some Lives Matter; but to our holy God, All Lives Matter. So says 2nd Peter 3:9 - God desires for ALL MEN to repent of their unbelief to be saved). Pastor Ironside side believed the same as I do, that Christ draws ALL MEN unto Himself. So says Titus 2:11, “For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,

Moving on, for one of our text passages I selected 1st Corinthians 1:18, “For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.” If you examine the corrupt modern Devil's Bibles, like the horrible tainted English Standard Version (ESV) that Bob Jones University uses, sells and promotes, you'll find that they errantly changed the words are saved” to “are being saved.” That is the work of devils!!! We are not BEING saved as God's children, we ARE already saved securely and permanently. Look at the Satanic garbage that Dr. Steve Pettit (president of Bob Jones University preaches). Kindly said, Steve Pettit preaches the Devil's lie of Calvinism, not a free grace Gospel. Calvinism is a highway to Hell.

The last passage that I chose for our text Scripture is 1st John 2:1-2, “My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.” Could the inspired Holy Bible be any plainer that Christ died for THE WHOLE WORLD, and not just for some chosen few? Calvinism's falsehood of "Limited Atonement" false teaches that Jesus only died for Christians, not the unsaved who go to Hell. The Bible disagrees with all five lies of John Calvin's summarized junk theology.

Dear reader, have you been deceived? Does your church falsely teach that to get to Heaven, you must repent of your sins? That is not what God's Word teaches. Bible repentance is just a change of mind (Greek noun: metanoia). It is changing your mind from what you think you must do to get to Heaven, to trusting only in what God says you must trust in to be saved. What saith the Scripture? Acts 16:30-31, “And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. Paul and Silas extended the invitation to be saved to the man and his entire family. God the Father will save anybody who comes to Him by way of His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ (John 3:16).

BEWARE of Calvinism! It is deadly. The Devil is a master counterfeiter (2nd Corinthians 11:304, 11:13-15). When some ungodly preacher lies to you, insisting that you must follow Jesus as your 'Lord,' surrender all to Christ, turn away from your sinful behavior, count the cost and pay the price, or live a lifestyle of repentance—he is preaching another gospel, which is accursed by God almighty (Galatians 1:6-9; 3:1-3; 5:4; 6:7).
