Psalms 145:9, “The LORD is good to all: and his tender mercies are over all his works.” 1st Corinthians 1:9, “God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.” 1st Peter 5:7, “Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.”
I decided many years ago that I wasn't going to place God on trial every time something went bad in my life. We've all been there. Any one of a thousand things can go wrong in a person's life. I have seen time and time again, where people became bitter and angry at God when something bad happened in there life.
I am thinking now of one young woman who became bitter at God when her husband died while attending Bible college. She later became an atheist!
I am thinking of another woman whose parents died at a young age, and she had to grow up without her Mom and Dad. She hated God for it.
I have met countless people throughout my life who were bitter at God for various reasons. The heathen world is always putting God on trial, blaming Him for the problems in this world. A common complaint that I hear from the atheist community is that if God were a God of love, then why would He allow starvation, suffering and war in the world? But dear reader, how can we blame God for what we have done, caused and allowed in this world. God doesn't start wars, men do!
God doesn't cause starvation, men do! If we simply loved our neighbour as ourselves, there is plenty of transportation, money, resources and food to help those starvation folks in Africa. If we can put a man on the moon, and send a robot to mars, and explore the galaxy with the new James Webb Telescope, then we certain CAN feed the poor and malnourished on our own planet earth! The amazing James Webb Telescope ended up costing $10,800,000,000. Wow, that's a lot of cheddar! You could feed a lot of hungry people with that kind of money. Elon Musk just paid a staggering $44,000,000,000 to acquire Twitter. Did you know that 10,000 children die each and every single day from malnutrition? That is not God's fault. It is OUR FAULT as human beings. Americans spend $80,000,000,000 each year on sports! So how can we blame God for our nation not caring enough to help the poor in Africa?
God is so good to all of us. Psalms 145:9, “The LORD is good to all: and his tender mercies are over all his works.” I never have to decide if God is good again, because I have already accepted THE TRUTH that God is good. If I were to look at today's disgusting and shameful preachers (ungodly pastors like Marty Herron, Steve Pettit, Chuck Phelps, Jared Baldwin, Timothy Zacharias, John MacArthur, Jeff Redlin, Sean Quinlan, Gary Walton, Joe Hansen and other rotten religious phonies), then I would become bitter against God. But I am wise enough to understand that it is not God's fault that these compromised men don't care about THE TRUTH. These ungodly imposters don't care about hurting people, unless they are in their little cliché of superficial friends. God is not to blame for the apostasy and shameful behavior of today's incompetent clergy in America!
Dear friend, just decide once and for all time that GOD IS GOOD!!! If your car breaks down, God is good. If your child dies, God is good. If you lose your job, God is good. If your wife or husband files for divorce (as mind did in 2006), God is good. If you lose your home (as I did), God is good. If you have been mistreated and abused by church pastors (as I have many times), God is still a good God. GOD IS ALWAYS FAITHFUL. 1st Corinthians 1:9, “God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.”
The Bible says that God cares about me. 1st Peter 5:7, “Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.” So when I sometimes feel like God doesn't care about me, I don't have to re-decide if God really cares or not. No matter what bad things have happened in my life (and hundreds of bad things have already happened), I decided decades ago that GOD IS ALWAYS A GOOD GOD!!! I don't need to put God on trial, because I KNOW He is a good God. I know God is faithful.
I know that God cares about me. Why do I know that? It is not because I feel it, because I often don't. It is simply because I have faith in the Word of God that it is true! I believe that the inspired King James Bible is 100% accurate, perfect and true, otherwise I'd burn it! I am leery of all these incompetent pastors today who continually put the King James Bible on trial, finding fault with it, attempting to correct it. Dear friend, the Bible doesn't need re-writing, it needs to be re-read again and again. We ought never correct the Bible; but rather, allow the Bible to correct us!
God is fair. That is, He is just! 1st John 1:9, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” God is so fair that He promises to forgive His children even before we ask Him to do so. If we simply CONFESS our sins to our heavenly Father, He promises to forgive us. You don't even have to ask for His forgiveness, because He is already offering it to you.
Everything that God does is right! Job 9:3, “If he will contend with him, he cannot answer him one of a thousand.” I once heard actor Robert De Niro sinfully say: “If there is a God He has a lot to answer for.” Oh my! What a fool! No, God doesn't have to explain anything to anyone! It is Robert De Niro who has A LOT to answer for, because of all the nudity, blaspheming God's holy name, raunchy lewd behavior and wickedness in his hundreds of Hollywood movies that he will give account to God for (Romans 1:32). De Niro made his hundreds of millions by corrupting people's minds with his perverse acting roles.
Dear reader, as of April 2022 Mr. De Niro has a shocking net worth of about $550,000,000. Wow! I have to eat Ramen Noodles and save up for months to purchase a professional Deering banjo, but Mr. De Niro could purchase the Deering banjo company many times over if he wanted. Isn't it something how most of the time it is the rich people of this world who are poor in faith, but it is the poor people who are rich in faith? That amazes me! What saith the Scripture? James 2:5, “Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him?” You see, rich people already think they have a form of heaven on earth; but poor people suffer, and so they need some hope, and God's promise of eternal life, a home in Heaven and all the blessings and splendors of Heaven can be theirs by just having FAITH in Jesus Christ as their Savior. That's a great deal!!! I am so glad that I am not in Robert De Niro's shoes, after saying what he said about God having to answer for a lot.
A commonly quoted favorite passage of Scripture is Hebrews chapter 11, often called: “The Hall Of Faith.” In this beautiful passage we read about Noah, who by faith moved with fear to build the ark. And we read about king David, who went out by faith to slay Goliath with a sling shot and Goliath's own sword. And we read of Rahab, who by faith hid and helped the Jewish spies in Canaan. But we rarely, if ever, hear about the last portion of Hebrews 11...
Hebrews 11:36-40, “And others had trial of cruel mockings and scourgings, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment: They were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented; (Of whom the world was not worthy:) they wandered in deserts, and in mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth. And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise: God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect.”
These were children of God, who suffered horribly! Some were eaten by wild animals. Others were sawn asunder. History purportedly evidences that the prophet Isaiah was sawn asunder by his wicked grandson Manasseh. We know that Peter was burned at the stake. Paul the apostle was beheaded (as was the Apostle James by Herod in Acts 12) by wicked Nero. Deacon Stephen was stoned to death for preaching THE TRUTH. Hebrews 11:26-40 speaks of saints who were tempted (e.g., Joseph, David, Abraham, Achan, Josiah, et cetera). Many saints had to wander homeless, escaping for their lives (Lot and his family, David, Paul and the Jews). Throughout recorded human civilization, history bears witness that Christians have suffered oftentimes, even unto brutal unthinkable torture and death.
I don't have to decide day-by-day if God is fair, loving, good, faithful or if He cares about me. The answer is: “Yes,” ten thousand times, “YES!!!” God is faithful. God is just. God cares. God is always right. God is good. God loves me. God wants what is best for me, even though it might mean for me to suffer horribly, lose everything and have nothing more than my faith in this earthly life. God is so good, He is so good to me!!!
