Turning From Sin Is Keeping The Works Of The Law

Galatians 3:3-3, “O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you? This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?”

I marvel at the woeful ignorance of pastors and Bible professors today in our colleges. All we are hearing nowadays from these wicked false teachers is that to get to Heaven you must “turn away from your sinful ways, which the Bible does not teach anywhere! We hear foolish preachers exclaim, “Repent of your sins,” but the Bible never says to repent “OF YOUR SINS.” Ungodly religious men added those words to God's plan of salvation. To repent is simply a change of mind, laying aside your WRONG THUNKING so that you will instead BELIEVE THE GOSPEL to be saved. That is all repentance is, nothing more. Repentance has nothing to do with your change of attitude toward how you live and conduct yourself.

When I got saved at age 13, I simply trusted Jesus Christ as my personal Savior. God sealed me with His indwelling Holy Spirit from that very moment forever (Romans 8:9). I didn't turn from my sins to be saved. But after I got saved the indwelling Holy Spirit began to convict me about the sins in my life. This is the big difference between true salvation and false salvation. If you turned from your sins to get saved, or think you must turn from sin to prove that your faith is genuine, then you are not saved at all. The Holy Spirit produces fruit in me as God's child (Galatians 5:22-25). I have never tried to turn from sin to prove that I was saved.

The Bible warns that BY THE WORKS OF THE LAW SHALL NO FLESH BE JUSTIFIED IN HIS SIGHT...

Romans 3:19-22,  “Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God. Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin. But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:

Turning away from one's sins is the WORKS OF THE LAW!!! What is THE LAW? Thou shalt not steal. Thou shalt not commit adultery. Thou shalt not murder. Thou shalt honor thy mother and thy father, et cetera. So what is the difference if you tell someone that they must stop stealing, stop committing adultery, stop killing, stop dishonoring their parents, to be saved? Is that not works? Sure it is. You don't get saved by keeping THE LAW, you get saved by receiving Christ's sacrifice on the cross as payment for all those horrible sins. And then God's Holy Spirit moves inside your body and soul to live, and begins to work on changing your life. But depending on whether or not you are attending a good Bible-preaching church, and your circumstances; it will affect how much you grow (or don't grow) in God's grace. If you still hang around your old worldly friends and don't attend a good church, you will remain a babe in Christ and not mature, which is what The Parable Of The Sower And The Seeds is about (Luke 8:11-15).

So if you hear a preacher teaching that you must turn away from sinful ways to be saved, you know now that he is a bold-faced liar!!! The only thing that you need to literally turn from to be saved is UNBELIEF. And in fact, the Bible even teaches that you can be saved and still have some unbelief. Even if you have 99% unbelief, you will be saved just so long as you completely trust in Jesus Christ. The slightest amount of childlike faith saves, just so long as 100% of your hope is in Christ's death, burial and bodily resurrection. Mark 9:24, “And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.” Here is Scriptural evidence that you can be saved and still have some unbelief, just so long as YOU BELIEVE!!!
