1st Corinthians 11:19, “For there must be also heresies among you, that they which are approved may be made manifest among you.”
What? Did you say, “Praise God for false teachers?” Yes, I did! Years ago I discovered our amazing text passage from 1st Corinthians 11:19a, “For there must be also heresies among you...” What a remarkable statement! The Bible says that we NEED heresies! We NEED false teachers! Wow! The reason why is stated in the last portion of 1st Corinthians 11:19b, “...that they which are approved may be made manifest among you.”
When someone preaches heresy, it provides a canvas against which a man who is learned in the Scripture can refute it and paint THE TRUTH!!! I love Paul's depth of understanding. The apostle understood that we need false teachers, so that true men of God could refute those false teachings to convey THE TRUTH to people.
The Bible never ceases to amaze me, so full of wisdom and truth.
