I Cannot Help Those Who Won't Help Themselves

Titus 3:9-11, “But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain. A man that is an heretick after the first and second admonition reject; Knowing that he that is such is subverted, and sinneth, being condemned of himself.

I receive many emails from people who tell me all about the problems in their life. Literally, they write me book length emails. Those of you who know me know that I tend to write long emails myself. I am a very expressive person. I love to help people.

I am not sure why, but I've noticed that there are two groups of people. The first group are like a sponge that absorb all the sermons, books and writings that I share with them, and they grow in the Lord. I have replied to countless emails, where they'll write back a few months later, to let me know that they are growing in Christ, attending a local church, 100% sure they are now saved, and they just want to thank me for helping them months earlier, and for my website ministry. I love emails like that!

But then there is a second group, who usually write back in the next day or two, telling me all about the same problems in their life, but they didn't take the time to look and listen to the resources I sent them. They are like hardened clay. The same sun that melts the wax hardens the clay! Some people's hearts are as wax, eager to learn the truth. But others have hearts like clay, which become harder and harder as the truth is handed to them on a golden platter.

Dear friend, I cannot help someone who refuses to take the wise advise that I give them. I have spent hours just responding to one email, because I care. It frustrates me when they write back just a day later, telling about all their same problems, worries and doubt, and I know that they didn't take the time to study all the several dozen hours of books, sermons and writings that I sent them. That tells me that they don't really want my help. They might be lazy. They might like griping. They might be insincere. The Bible says they are subverted of them self. Titus 3:11, “A man that is an heretick after the first and second admonition reject; Knowing that he that is such is subverted, and sinneth, being condemned of himself.

A man wrote to me the other day. He said that demons are working in his life. He said that he has dreams and battles evil thoughts. He said he cannot settle the assurance of his salvation. He said that he contacted a local Baptist church, but they shirked him off and said he needs psychiatric help. That is what he told me! I kindly wrote him back and told him that no pastor is qualified to say that someone “needs a psychiatrist. Only a legally licensed trained doctor can make such an assertion. I never assume that such a person is crazy, insincere or wasting my time. I figure if they were willing to take the time to type me a long email, the least I can do is give them the benefit of the doubt and write them back.

So I poured out my heart and spent a couple hours replying to him. I wanted to help him, as a friend at midnight. I sent him dozens of books and sermons about salvation. I sent him many helpful quotes, Christian websites and writings by fundamentalist preachers to help him. I sent him a few links to some of my favorite preacher's sermons, encouraging him to start listening to one sermon a day from now on, so he could walk with wise men to become wise.

The man emailed me back the very next day, saying that he doesn't like to read. Oh brother! He said that nothing has helped him in the past. He said that he is at the end of his rope in desperation and he doesn't know what to do. You see, that guy definitely has a problem. I cannot help someone like that who won't even listen to the sermons I send him. You cannot help someone who has a closed mind, who won't even lift a finger to read and listen to the truth. No one's mind becomes broken in a day! Dr. Bob Jones Sr. (1883-1968) used to rightly say: “Behind every tragedy in human character is a slow process of wicked thinking!”

If your mind is broken—confused, having conflicting thoughts, depressed, down, battling evil thoughts, afraid, panicked, et cetera—the Bible teaches in Romans 12:2b, “be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” 2nd Corinthians 10:5-6, “Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.”

When a sinful thought enters into your mind, captivate that thought! You arrest it! Freeze it! Refuse to allow that sinful thought of hate, lust, envy, stealing or pride to reside in your mind! The best way to counter those sinful thoughts is to memorize Bible verses. If you think a lustful thought, then immediately counter it with 1st Peter 2:11, “Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;” If you think a hateful thought, then counter it with Ephesians 4:30-32, “And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.” Commit these Bible verses to memory!
Psalms 1:1-6, “Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away. Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.”
What a beautiful passage of Scripture! Ungodly people are blown about in life, having no roots. Ah, but the man who meditates in the Word of God day and night, shall be as a tree planted by a river with deep strong roots. The King James Bible is the answer to all the problems in your life!!! I love helping people, which is why I started my website ministry in 2002.

I have received countless precious emails from people who used to hate me. They hated my offensive website, but they kept returning to see what I had to say. Over the years the truth worked on them. A seed had been planted. The Holy Spirit convicted them and they got saved and now love me dearly. I love testimonies like that! That is the power of the Gospel and the Holy Spirit, not me.

Many pastors don't like my websites because they're afraid they'll be next! I feel bad when I hear stuff like that, because God knows it has never been my intention to scrutinize pastors and expose them on the internet. But folks, the Bible commands us as believers to “earnestly contend for the faith” (Jude 1:3b). Ephesians 5:11b exhorts believers “have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.” Titus 1:13b commands believers to “rebuke them sharply who subvert whole households, that they may be sound in the faith.” How then do most pastors today have nothing negative to say against other preachers who corrupt the simplicity that is in Christ, like Dr. John MacArthur?

Why don't Baptist pastors cry aloud against the “Lordship” salvation preached at Bob Jones University? Why are today's pastors eerily silent about churches and Bible colleges (like Faith Baptist Bible College And Theological Seminary) who use, sell and promote the Devil's Bible versions? These are not mere weaknesses in pastors folks, this is woeful ignorance of the Word of God which destroys men (2nd Peter 3:16-17). I am a much hated and despised internet preacher, because I care about the little details. I think that right doctrine matters! I have a big mouth (or big fingers). When a Bible preacher cries aloud against heresy, names the names of false teachers, refuses to compromise, and says it like it is, he makes many enemies, as I have over the decades! I have been running my big mouth in cyberspace for the past 19 years, and by God's grace I plan to keep running my mouth until the Lord takes me home to Heaven to be with Him (John 14:1-3).

As I often do, I am listening to a sermon as I type this article. I am listening to Pastor Jack Hyles' helpful sermon: “How To Walk With God.” It is wonderful. It breaks my heart to see fools like Taylor Swift and other raunchy entertainers, have hundreds of millions of views for just one video. Yet, some of the greatest sermons I've ever heard have 59 views on YouTube. This just shows the dire spiritual condition of the United States in 2021. We are on the verge of destruction!

Pastor Steven Anderson's 6,500 sermons were all hatefully deleted by YouTube. It is wickedness!!! When transvestites' are allowed to promote their despicable filth on YouTube (Yes, that is a dude!), but Bible preachers are censored and banned, you know that a country is at its lowest point before utter chaos and destruction comes. Nikkie (the author of the preceding YouTube channel is making millions of dollars on YouTube). YouTube is deciding what is “hate speech,” but they do not know what is good or evil, only God does. There is nothing more hateful and evil than teaching little children that it is okay for a biological boy at birth to get surgery to become a female. I say that kindly with love. Love is teaching children the inspired Word of God. God is love! It is the Devil who is blocking Pastor Anderson's Bible preaching, and allowing sodomites to preach their wickedness. You know that a nation is gone spiritually when pastors are labeled as haters for preaching the Bible.

Anyway, that is a different sermon for another day. Dear reader, I am not the only one who cannot help someone who won't help them self. God Himself said the same thing in the Bible. 2nd Timothy 2:13, “If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself.Even God cannot help someone who doesn't want to be helped. God never sends anybody to Hell who didn't CHOOSE to go there by knowingly rejecting Jesus Christ (Revelation 20:11-15).

In other words, our attitude is everything! I think that is why most believers get saved at a young age, because children don't have negative attitudes like adults do. I was saved at age 13. Pastor Jack Hyles was saved at age 11. Pastor Steven Anderson was saved at age 6. Adults often become skeptical, critical, proud and stubborn. Dear friend, I encourage you to become as a child. Matthew 18:3, “And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.” Simply humble yourself to receive Jesus Christ as your personal Savior. Humble yourself in your life to listen to Bible preaching, and you will grow in grace and truth friend.
