As Believers We Should Live A Holy Life

Matthew 5:16, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” 2nd Timothy 2:19, Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.” 1st Peter 1:15-16, But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.

I preach much about the Free Grace Gospel. That simply means we are saved freely by God's grace and you don't have to do good works to be saved (Ephesians 2:8-9). That means you DON'T have to turn away from your sinful bad habits to be saved (Romans 3:19-20). It has to be that way, otherwise God would owe you and me salvation. Romans 4:4, “Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt.” God doesn't owe you and me anything except eternal damnation in the fires of Hell. It bothers me when I hear false teachers like Renee Roland saying in her YouTube videos that Hell doesn't exist has no fire. Renee is messed up doctrinally and I recommend that everyone avoid her. That is why women ought not teach Bible (1st Timothy 2:11-14). Women preachers are all false teachers!!!

God commands every believer to depart from iniquity and be holy, as He is holy. As believers, our POSITION in Christ was forever settled the moment we were saved, declared legally justified in the sight of God. However, the way we choose to live here on earth is our CONDITION in Christ. If we don't want to be harshly dealt with by God at the Judgment Seat Of Christ as a believer (Psalm 6:1; 2nd Corinthians 5:10-11), then we need to please the Lord in our body, soul and spirit. God doesn't expect us to be perfect, He just wants us to try by submitting in obedience to the Word of God. 2nd Corinthians 10:4-6, “(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.”

Our relationship with God is similar to that of our earthly parents. Once we are born, we have their DNA and no matter what, they will always be our parents. The moment you got saved, God gave you His spiritual DNA, the Holy Spirit. God seals every believer with the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 1:13-15). Nothing can change that. But now God is your heavenly Father, and He is not an absent parent (Hebrews 12:6-8). Just like our earthly parents, if we obey their rules they will be pleased (God sure will). When we do mess up, our attitude is important. Are we defiant, proud and rebellious? Or are we broken, sorry and humble to do better? God sees our heart.

Here is a helpful MP3 sermon by Pastor Jack Hyles titled: "HOW TO BE RIGHT WITH GOD," if you'd like to listen to it. God wants to be close to you dear reader. James 4:8-10, “
Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.” God is broken hearted over the wickedness in society today. God has a burden to see people get saved (2nd Peter 3:9). If we take the Lord's yoke upon us, and help Him win souls by sharing the Gospel with the lost, nothing pleases God more. Psalm 11:7, “For the righteous LORD loveth righteousness; his countenance doth behold the upright.” God is a righteous God Who loves righteousness!

The only true righteousness we have as Christians is the imputed righteousness of God through faith alone in Christ (Philippians 3:9). But once born-again by God's righteousness, He wants us to walk by faith, allowing Jesus to live through us (Galatians 2:20). I am not living the Christian life in my own strength, but Christ liveth in me. Galatians 2:20, “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.”

Pastor Charles Spurgeon rightly said:

“Christians can never sin cheaply; they pay a heavy price for iniquity. Transgression destroys peace of mind, obscures fellowship with Jesus, hinders prayer, brings darkness over the soul; therefore be not the serf and bondman of sin.” ―Pastor Charles H. Spurgeon, Morning And Evening: Daily Readings

Dr. Bob Jones Sr. rightly said:
“Bob Jones College, I told you, stands for the narrow road. We don't stand for the broad road. We don't stand for what is stood for in most educational institutions. We stand without apology for the old-time Christian philosophy of self-control and self-restraint. This institution is operating in its seventeenth year. All these years we have gathered around an idea: The Bible is the Word of God. Jesus is the Son of God. He died on the cross to save us. We are saved by faith in Him. We stand for 'honest-to-goodness' hard work. We stand for honest study. We stand for modesty and virtue for girls and for honesty and uprightness and purity for boys. We stand for the old decencies, the old traditions. The college started off like that. It stands for those things still. We don't apologize to Mr. Anybody for it. And great prosperity, in spite of bitter opposition, has come to Bob Jones College because of the things for which it stands.” —Dr. Bob Jones Sr., “Things I Have Learned: Chapel Talks,” page 75-76; Bob Jones University Press, ©1945
Dr. Jones further rightly states:
“God gives you eternal life when you take Him. Eternal life is wrapped up in Christ. 'He that hath the Son hath life.' There is just one difference between a Christian and a sinner. A Christian has Christ and a sinner does not have Him. That is the only difference. All you need is Jesus. It is all in Jesus! If you will take Him, He will blot out all your sins. If you take Him, He will give you a new nature. If you take Him, He will go with you along the journey of life. He will be with you when you are tempted. He will put arms of power around you and give you the victory. 'By grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God; not of works, lest any man should boast.” —Dr. Bob Jones Sr., “Things I Have Learned: Chapel Talks,” page 223; Bob Jones University Press, ©1945
I think John Bunyan said it best:
“If you do not put a difference between justification wrought by the man Christ without and sanctification wrought by the Spirit of Christ within, you are not able to divide the Word aright; but contrariwise, you corrupt the Word of God, and cast stumbling blocks before the people.” [emphasis added] —Evangelist John Bunyan
Any preacher who tells you that you must repent of your sin to be saved, or surrender to Jesus as your Lord, is a false teacher and a demonic liar. As believers we SHOULD live for Christ; not MUST (that would be works); not WILL (that is Calvinism). Calvinism is a false plan of salvation rooted in self-righteousness!!! Moody Bible Institute in Chicago has succumbed to the Devil's lie of Calvinism, and is no longer a trustworthy religious institution. Bob Jones University has succumbed to the Devil's lie of Calvinism. These institutions are now prisonhouses of religion!!! So also is the ungodly Harvest Baptist Church on Guam, who sinfully bid Godspeed to BJU and Dr. Steve Pettit. There is not a more wicked, shameful and dangerous organization today than the Harvest Baptist Church of Guam, who epitomize phony Christians, Pharisaical hypocrites, arrogance, sycophantic worship and false religion.
